This article is concerned with robust stability analysis of discrete-time systems and introduces a novel and powerful technique that we call noncausal linear periodically time-varying (LPTV) scaling. Based on the discrete-time lifting together with the conventional but general scaling approach, we are led to the notion of noncausal LPTV scaling for LPTV systems, and its effectiveness is demonstrated with a numerical example. To separate the effect of noncausal and LPTV characteristics of noncausal LPTV scaling to see which is a more important source leading to the effectiveness, we then consider the case of LTI systems as a special case. Then, we show that even static noncausal LPTV scaling has an ability of inducing frequency-dependent scaling when viewed in the context of the conventional LTI scaling, while causal LPTV scaling fails to do so. It is further discussed that the effectiveness of noncausal characteristics leading to the frequency-domain interpretation can be exploited even for LPTV systems by considering the νN-lifted transfer matrices of N-periodic systems.  相似文献

Investigates robustness of linear periodically time varying (LPTV) control of discrete linear time invariant (LTI) plants subject to LTI unstructured perturbations. The note first derives a necessary and sufficient condition for robust stability of an LPTV system subject to LTI perturbations, which is less conservative than the well known small gain condition. It then presents a quantitative analysis on the robustness of LPTV control under LTI unstructured perturbations in comparison with that of LTI control. It is shown that under the normal value of the controller period suggested in the previous literature, the stability margin is deteriorated by LPTV control if LTI unstructured perturbations are considered. Hence LTI control is superior to LPTV control in this respect  相似文献

This study is concerned with the synthesis of periodically time‐varying memory state‐feedback controllers (PTVMSFCs) for discrete‐time linear systems. In our preceding studies, we have already established a solid theoretical basis for linear matrix inequality (LMI)‐based (robust) H ‐PTVMSFCs synthesis, and the goal of this paper is to extend those results to the H 2 performance criterion. In the H 2 case, the main difficulty stems from the fact that we have to ensure the existence of common auxiliary variables for multiple LMI conditions that are related to the Lyapunov inequality and the inequalities for bounding traces that characterize the H 2 norm. We can overcome this difficulty and derive a necessary and sufficient LMI condition for the optimal H 2‐PTVMSFC synthesis. On the basis of this result, we also consider robust H 2‐PTVMSFC synthesis for LTI systems with parametric uncertainties.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with the decentralized H controller synthesis problem for discrete‐time LTI systems. Despite of intensive research efforts over the last several decades, this problem is believed to be nonconvex and still outstanding in general. Therefore, most of existing approaches resort to heuristic optimization algorithms that do not allow us to draw any definite conclusion on the quality of the designed controllers. To get around this difficulty, in this paper, we propose convex optimization procedures for computing lower bounds of the H performance that is achievable via decentralized LTI controllers of any order. In particular, we will show that sharpened lower bounds can be obtained by making good use of structures of the LTI plant typically observed in the decentralized control setting. We illustrate via numerical examples that these lower bounds are indeed useful to ensure the good quality of decentralized controllers designed by a heuristic optimization. A stability robustness test is developed for internally stable, nominal, linear time‐invariant (LTI) feedback systems subject to structured, linear time‐varying uncertainty. There exists (in the literature) a necessary and sufficient structured small gain condition that determines robust stability in such cases. In this paper, the structured small gain theorem is utilized to formulate a (sufficient) stability robustness condition in a scaled LTI ν‐gap metric framework. The scaled LTI ν‐gap metric stability condition is shown to be computable via linear matrix inequality techniques, similar to the structured small gain condition. Apart from a comparison with a generalized robust stability margin as the final part of the stability test, however, the solution algorithm implemented to test the scaled LTI ν‐gap metric stability robustness condition is shown to be independent of knowledge about the controller transfer function (as opposed to the LMI feasibility problem associated with the scaled small gain condition which is dependent on knowledge about the controller). Thus, given a nominal plant and a structured uncertainty set, the stability robustness condition presented in this paper provides a single constraint on a controller (in terms of a large enough generalized robust stability margin) that (sufficiently) guarantees to stabilize all plants in the uncertainty set. In this paper, we present a new scheme for designing a H stabilizing controller for discrete‐time Takagi‐Sugeno fuzzy systems with actuator saturation and external disturbances. The weighting‐dependent Lyapunov functions approach is used to design a robust static output‐feedback controller. To address the input saturation problem, both constrained and saturated control input cases are considered. In both cases, stabilization conditions of the fuzzy system are formulated as a convex optimization problem in terms of linear matrix inequalities. Two simulation examples are included to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed design methods. A comparison with the results given in recent literature on the subject is also presented.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate a robust constrained model predictive control synthesis approach for discrete‐time Takagi‐Sugeno's (T‐S) fuzzy system with structured uncertainty. The key idea is to determine, at each sampling time, a state feedback fuzzy predictive controller that minimizes the performance objective function in the infinite time horizon by solving a class of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) optimization problem. To do this, the fuzzy predictive controller is designed on the basis of non‐parallel distributed compensation (non‐PDC) control law, relaxed stability conditions of the closed‐loop fuzzy system are developed by employing an extended nonquadratic Lyapunov function and introducing additional slack and collection matrices. In addition, the presented approach is capable of ensuring the robust asymptotic stability as well as the recursive feasibility of the closed‐loop fuzzy system. Simulations on a highly nonlinear continuous stirred tank reactor (CSTR) are eventually presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the developed theoretical approach.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with the design of an L1‐induced output‐feedback controller for continuous‐time positive systems with interval uncertainties. A necessary and sufficient condition for stability and an L1‐induced performance of interval positive linear systems is proposed in terms of linear inequalities. Based on this, conditions for the existence of robust static output‐feedback controllers are established and an iterative convex optimization approach is developed to solve the conditions. For special single‐input‐multiple‐output (SIMO) positive systems, the problem of controller synthesis is completely solved with the help of an analytical formula for the L1‐induced norm. An illustrative example is provided to show the effectiveness and applicability of the theoretical results.  相似文献

This article focuses on the robust state feedback reliable H control problem for discrete‐time systems. Discrete‐time systems with time‐varying delayed control input are formulated. Based on the Lyapunov–Krasovskii method and linear matrix inequality (LMI) approach, delay‐dependent sufficient conditions are developed for synthesizing the state feedback controller for an uncertain discrete‐time system. The parameter uncertainty is assumed to be norm bounded. A design scheme for the state feedback reliable H controller is proposed in terms of LMIs, which can guarantee the global asymptotic stability and the minimum disturbance attenuation level. Finally, numerical examples are provided to illustrate the effectiveness and reduced conservatism of the proposed methods.  相似文献

We propose an ?? controller design method which achieves a closed‐loop transfer function equal or otherwise sensibly close to a desired transfer function, viz. a model reference design. The proposed controller design method inherits the model reference feature of the internal model control design method and incorporates the weighting scheme of the ?? loop‐shaping. It utilizes Youla–Kucera parameterization in a two‐degree‐of‐freedom scheme to achieve robust model reference and high performance design while ensuring a sensible robust stability margin, and can be readily applied to the generic class of LTI systems (SISO, MIMO, stable, unstable). This paper investigates the problem of robust ?? static output feedback controller design for a class of discrete‐time piecewise‐affine systems with norm‐bounded time‐varying parametric uncertainties. The objective is to design a piecewise‐linear static output feedback controller guaranteeing the asymptotic stability of the resulting closed‐loop system with a prescribed ?? disturbance attenuation level. Based on a piecewise Lyapunov function combined with S‐procedure, Projection lemma, and some matrix inequality convexifying techniques, several novel approaches to the static output feedback controller analysis and synthesis are developed for the underlying piecewise‐affine systems. It is shown that the controller gains can be obtained by solving a set of strict linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) or a family of LMIs parameterized by one or two scalar variables, which are numerically efficient with commercially available software. Finally, three simulation examples are provided to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed approaches. Copyright © 2010 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The problem of delay‐dependent robust stabilization for uncertain singular discrete‐time systems with Markovian jumping parameters and time‐varying delay is investigated. In terms of free‐weighting‐matrix approach and linear matrix inequalities, a delay‐dependent condition is presented to ensure a singular discrete‐time system to be regular, causal and stochastically stable based on which the stability analysis and robust stabilization problem are studied. An explicit expression for the desired state‐feedback controller is also given. Some numerical examples are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach. This paper investigates the problem of sampled‐data controller design for a class of lower‐triangular systems in the p‐normal form (0<p<1). A multirate digital feedback control scheme is proposed to achieve the global strong stabilization of the sampled‐data closed‐loop system under some assumptions. In the design of the controller, the input‐Lyapunov matching strategy and multirate control approach are combined to obtain better stabilizing performance. Unlike the design method based on the approximate discrete‐time model, our controller is obtained from the exact discrete‐time equivalent model, which does not need to be computed completely. The approximate multirate digital controllers are proved to be effective in the practical implementation. It is shown that, compared with the emulated control scheme, our controller may provide faster decrease of Lyapunov function for each subsystem. This will lead to allow large sampling periods. An illustrative example is provided to verify the effectiveness of the proposed control scheme.  相似文献

Analogously to the existing μ‐synthesis tools, we propose an alternative algorithm for the systematic design of robust controllers based on an iteration of standard nominal controller synthesis and integral quadratic constraint (IQC) analysis with general dynamic multipliers. The suggested algorithm enables us to perform robust controller synthesis for a significantly larger class of uncertainties if compared with the existing methods. Indeed, while the classical approaches are restricted to the use of real/complex time invariant or arbitrarily fast time‐varying parametric uncertainties, the IQC framework also offers, for example, the possibility to efficiently handle sector‐bounded and slope restricted nonlinearities or time‐varying parametric uncertainties and uncertain time‐varying time‐delays, both with bounds on the rate‐of‐variation. Secondly, in contrast to the classical approaches, the proposed techniques completely avoid gridding and curve‐fitting. We present new insights that allow us to reformulate the robust IQC analysis LMIs into a standard quadratic performance problem. This enables us to generate suitable initial conditions for each subsequent iteration step. Depending on the size of the problem, this can significantly speed up the synthesis process. The results are illustrated by means of two numerical examples. Copyright © 2013 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The cart‐inverted pendulum is a non‐minimum phase system having right half s‐plane pole and zero in close vicinity to each other. Linear time invariant (LTI) classical controllers cannot achieve satisfactory loop robustness for such systems. Therefore, in the present work the fractional order PIλDμ (FOPID) controller is addressed for robust stabilization of the system, since fractional order controller design allows more degrees of freedom compared to its integer order counterparts by virtue of its two parameters λ and μ. The controller parameters are tuned by three evolutionary optimization techniques. In order to select the controller parameters optimally, a novel non‐linear fitness function using integral time square error (ITSE), settling‐time, and rise time is proposed here. The control algorithm is implemented successfully in real‐time. Moreover, stability analysis of the system compensated with a fractional order controller is presented using Riemann surface. Robustness of the physical cart‐inverted pendulum system towards multiplicative gain variations and plant parameter variations is verified. In this regard, it is shown that the fractional order controller provides satisfactory robust performance in both simulation and real‐time system.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with the problems of robust stochastic stabilization and robust H control for uncertain discrete‐time stochastic bilinear systems with Markovian switching. The parameter uncertainties are time‐varying norm‐bounded. For the robust stochastic stabilization problem, the purpose is the design of a state feedback controller which ensures the robust stochastic stability of the closed‐loop system irrespective of all admissible parameter uncertainties; while for the robust H control problem, in addition to the robust stochastic stability requirement, a prescribed level of disturbance attenuation is required to be achieved. Sufficient conditions for the solvability of these problems are obtained in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). When these LMIs are feasible, explicit expressions of the desired state feedback controllers are also given. An illustrative example is provided to show the effectiveness of the proposed approach. This paper is concerned with the problem of robust H controller design for a class of uncertain networked control systems (NCSs). The network‐induced delay is of an interval‐like time‐varying type integer, which means that both lower and upper bounds for such a kind of delay are available. The parameter uncertainties are assumed to be normbounded and possibly time‐varying. Based on Lyapunov‐Krasovskii functional approach, a robust H controller for uncertain NCSs is designed by using a sum inequality which is first introduced and plays an important role in deriving the controller. A delay‐dependent condition for the existence of a state feedback controller, which ensures internal asymptotic stability and a prescribed H performance level of the closed‐loop system for all admissible uncertainties, is proposed in terms of a nonlinear matrix inequality which can be solved by a linearization algorithm, and no parameters need to be adjusted. A numerical example about a balancing problem of an inverted pendulum on a cart is given to show the effectiveness of the proposed design method.  相似文献

In this paper, the H input/output (I/O) linearization formulation is applied to design an inner‐loop nonlinear controller for a nonlinear ship course‐keeping control problem. Due to the ship motion dynamics are non‐minimum phase, it is impossible to use the ordinary feedback I/O linearization to resolve. Hence, the technique of H I/O linearization is proposed to obtain a nonlinear H controller such that the compensated nonlinear system approximates the linear reference model in I/O behaviour. Then a μ‐synthesis method is employed to design an outer‐loop robust controller to address tracking, regulation, and robustness issues. The time responses of the tracking signals for the closed‐loop system reveal that the overall robust nonlinear controller is able to provide robust stability and robust performance for the plant uncertainties and state measurement errors. In this paper, new approaches regarding H2 guaranteed cost stability analysis and controller synthesis problems for a class of discrete‐time fuzzy systems with uncertainties are investigated. The state‐space Takagi‐Sugeno fuzzy model with norm‐bounded parameter uncertainties is adopted. Based on poly‐quadratic Lyapunov functions, sufficient conditions for the existence of the robust H2 fuzzy controller can be obtained in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Furthermore, a convex optimization problem with LMI constraints is formulated to design a suboptimal fuzzy controller which minimizes the upper bound on the quadratic cost function. The effectiveness of the proposed design approach is illustrated by two examples. Copyright © 2010 John Wiley and Sons Asia Pte Ltd and Chinese Automatic Control Society  相似文献
