作为中国第一个木制赛道的室内自行车馆．老山自行车馆不仅将拥有国际一流水平的赛道．在赛后也将成为国家队的日常训练基地和国际自行车联盟的亚洲培训基地。在奥运会期间这里将产生男女共12枚金牌．同时该馆还与临近的老山山地自行车比赛场和BMX小轮车比赛场共同组成”老山奥运场馆群”．老山自行车馆将为临近场馆提供部分共用设施。     

山地自行车赛道施工技术要点

目前山地自行车赛道施工还没有现行的国家规范和相关标准,本文通过北京奥运会山地自行车赛道工程的成功施工实践,总结了赛道施工的一系列技术措施、施工工法,为今后类似工程的施工管理提供了可靠的经验借鉴。

2012年伦敦奥运会自行车馆

该项目位于英国李谷地区公园,共设有6000个坐位,是第一个专为2012年伦敦奥运会而建成的场馆,并在这里举办了奥运会和残奥会的场地自行车赛事。奥运会闭幕后,留存下来的自行车场馆将成为自行车活动中心,供专业运动员和当地民众使用。场馆内设有一个小餐厅、自行车租赁区和自行车维修设施,预计每年将吸引超过25万名的游客。

2012年奥林匹克室内赛车场最新设计图公布

国外媒体2008年9月8日报道，英国奥林匹克交付局公布了2012年室内赛车场最新设计图。这座预算8000万英镑的场馆是由Hopkins事务所设计的。 早被戏称为“巨大薯片”的室内赛车场有6万个座位，其凹面木质屋顶是更大的自行车园的核心部分。这个园子里还将建造一条自行车越野赛赛道。

Local Connection Criteria and Single Homeless People's Geographical Mobility: Evidence from Brighton and Hove

In December 2001 Brighton and Hove City Council introduced a set of Local Connection Criteria aimed at stemming the flow of homeless people apparently making their way to the city in search of services. Under the new criteria, only those previously resident in Brighton and Hove can make use of the city's night shelters and hostels. Similar such criteria have recently been introduced elsewhere and represent an important change in local responses to the problems of single homelessness. The paper examines in detail the movements of 41 recently and long-term homeless men interviewed at a night shelter and hostel in Brighton and Hove prior to the introduction of the local connection rule. Finding the majority to have recently moved to the city having become homeless elsewhere, it is suggested that the introduction of such criteria is liable to have a considerable impact on the lives of some single homeless people. Examining the reasons why these men had moved, however, it is suggested that the future movement of single homeless people to the city, or other 'homeless places', is unlikely to be significantly affected by such policies.

Neighborhood sociodemographics and change in built infrastructure

While increasing evidence suggests an association between physical infrastructure in neighborhoods and health outcomes, relatively little research examines how neighborhoods change physically over time and how these physical improvements are spatially distributed across populations. This paper describes the change over 25 years (1985–2010) in bicycle lanes, off-road trails, bus transit service and parks, and spatial clusters of changes in these domains relative to neighborhood sociodemographics in four US cities that are diverse in terms of geography, size, and population. Across all four cities we identified increases in bicycle lanes, off-road trails, and bus transit service, with spatial clustering in these changes that related to neighborhood sociodemographics. Overall, we found evidence of positive changes in physical infrastructure commonly identified as supportive of physical activity. However, the patterning of infrastructure change by sociodemographic change encourages attention to the equity in infrastructure improvements across neighborhoods.     

Optimal haulage routing of off-road dump trucks in construction and mining sites using Google Earth and a modified least-cost path algorithm

This study presents new software, called Google Earth-based Optimal HAulage RouTing System (GEOHARTS), to improve the functionality of Google Earth for optimal haulage routing of off-road dump trucks in construction and mining sites. A modified least-cost path algorithm, which is applicable to working areas with both paved and unpaved temporary roads and can consider the effects of terrain relief and curves along a route on the route planning, was proposed and utilized for the software development. GEOHARTS can determine optimal haulage routes between loaders and dumps that ensure the least travel time or fuel consumption of off-road dump trucks and can visualize the results using an embedded 3D render window of Google Earth. The application to the Pasir open-pit coal mine in Indonesia demonstrates that GEOHARTS could provide a rational solution to support the truck haulage operations.
