A 2 × 2 nonblocking optical matrix switch, composed of four elemental switches formed in a slab waveguide, is described. Switching action is based on total internal reflection caused by an electrically controlled change in refractive index of the liquid crystal. Propagation loss was remarkably reduced to 2.3 dB/cm, both by using liquid crystal as a cladding layer and by operating at the 1.31 μm wavelength. The experimental matrix switch exhibited 7.3-7.7 dB insertion loss, -17.3 to -18.2 dB crosstalk, and a 14° switching angle.  相似文献

This paper presents a 4×2 switching matrix implemented in the Win 0.5 m Ga As pseudomorphic high electron mobility transistor process, it covers the 0.5–3 GHz frequency range. The switch matrix is composed of 4 SPDT switch whose two output ports can simultaneously select the input port and a 4 to 8 bit digital decoder,both the radio frequency(RF) part and the digital part are integrated into one single chip. The chip is packaged in a low cost QFN24 plastic package. On chip shunt, capacitors at the input ports are taken to compensate for the bonding wire inductance effect. The designed switch matrix shows a good measured performance: the insertion loss is less than 5.5 d B, the isolation is no worse than 30 d B, the return loss of input ports and output ports is better than –10 d B, the input 1 d B compression point is better than 25.6 d Bm, and the OIP3 is better than 37 d Bm. The chip size of the switch matrix is only 1.45×1.45 mm2.  相似文献

Several low crosstalk 4 × 4 crossbar optical switch arrays have been fabricated for use atlambda = 1.3 mum. Each array consists of 16 independently functioning directional coupler switches. We describe the typical device performance characteristics. The average insertion loss is 5.2 dB. Crosstalk levels routinely measured < -35 dB. The voltage required to operate the device is ≈ 13 V. The inputs to one of the device arrays were permanently attached to four laser transmitters using lensed polarization maintaining fiber at the laser end and an array of polarization maintaining fibers at the device end.  相似文献

设计了一种由相位型空间光调制器(PSLM)、偏振光分束器(PBS)、反射镜、半波片(HWP)和四分之一波片(QWP)构成的2×2光开关。该光开关所用器件少,具有结构紧凑规整、功能的实现与信号光的偏振态无关以及可以完成双向交换等特点。在此基础上通过2×2光开关的级联,设计了一种与偏振无关的4×4光开关的实验模块,根据其路由控制表对该实验模块功能的实现进行了分析。为与之作比较,还提出了一种与偏振相关的4×4光开关,该光开关利用对信号光偏振态的控制进行路由选择,以实现所需的交换和排序。  相似文献

We report the fabrication and testing of several models of a complex integrated Ti : LiNbO3switch array, a one-input-to-sixteen-output switch that is polarization independent for use with standard single-mode fibers. The switch array has 15 directional couplers arranged in a binary tree with four ranks. The device is fitted with connectorized single-mode fiber pigtails and housed in a package that permits convenient transport and use. The best measured losses (fiber-waveguide-fiber) are 3.0 dB for the TE polarization and 3.6 dB for the TM. Permanent attachment of the pigtails adds 0.65-dB loss. Crosstalk suppression averages 10 dB below the transmitted signal for the brightest unwanted path.  相似文献

提出了一种基于Mach-Zehnder干涉仪(MZI)结构开关单元和Banyan网络的严格无阻塞4×4矩阵光开关。相对于Crossbar结构的7级单元级联,Banyan结构只需3级连接。分析了Banyan网络中交叉连接损耗与交叉角度的关系,交叉角30°时损耗为0.09dB。优化设计了MZI开关单元结构,并制作了2×2光开关,测得插入损耗(IL)为-14dB、串扰(XT)为-38dB和功耗为450mW。设计了基于Banyan网络的4×4光开关,连接波导交叉角为30°。基于光波导平面光波线路(PLC)技术,制作了严格无阻塞的SiO2波导4×4矩阵光开关,测得平均儿为3.95dB、通道XT为-37dB、偏振相关损耗(PDL)为0.4dB、单通道开关功率约为670mW及开关响应时间小于1ms。  相似文献

Without adding feedback to modulate light path system, the dissymmetrical 3 × 3 coupled optical accelerometer reduces the complexity of the design of light path system. Experiments prove that it can attain good demodulation effects. As carrier is not needed in this system, the frequency range of input signal is diminished so as to decrease the sampling frequency of accelerometer. This makes for the system on programmable chip(SOPC) design of digital demodulating system. The upper limit of accelerometer working frequency can reach 3 500 Hz. But affected by the inherent frequency of sensitive components, its working frequency is 10 Hz-1 000 Hz, and the sensitivity is 8. 718 0 V/(m @ s^-2). This accelerometer can detect the dynamic range of acceleration signal real-timely, steadily and accurately, solving the dissymmetrical problem of light path caused by circumstances and the complexity of process.  相似文献
