Calcium urolithiasis is often associated with increased intestinal absorption and urine excretion of calcium, and has been suggested to result from increased vitamin D production. The role of the enzyme 1 alpha-hydroxylase, the rate-limiting step in active vitamin D production, was evaluated in 36 families, including 28 sibships with at least a pair of affected sibs, using qualitative and quantitative trait linkage analyses. Sibs with a verified calcium urolithiasis passage (n = 117) had higher 24-h calciuria (P = 0.03), oxaluria (P = 0.02), fasting and postcalcium loading urine calcium/creatinine (Ca/cr) ratios (P = 0.008 and P = 0.002, respectively), and serum 1,25(OH)2 vitamin D levels (P = 0.02) compared with nonstone-forming sibs (n = 120). Markers from a 9-centiMorgan interval encompassing the VDD1 locus on chromosome 12q13-14 (putative 1 alpha-hydroxylase) were analyzed in 28 sibships (146 sib pairs) of single and recurrent stone formers and in 14 sibships (65 sib pairs) with recurrent-only (> or = 3 episodes) stone-forming sibs. Two-point and multipoint analyses did not reveal excess in alleles shared among affected sibs at the VDD1 locus. Linkage of stone formation to the VDD1 locus could be excluded, respectively, with a lambda d of 2.0 (single and recurrent stone formers) and 3.25 (recurrent stone formers). Quantitative trait analyses revealed no evidence for linkage to 24-h calciuria and oxaluria, serum 1,25(OH)2 vitamin D levels, and Ca/cr ratios. This study shows absence of linkage of the putative 1 alpha-hydroxylase locus to calcium stone formation or to quantitative traits associated with idiopathic hypercalciuria. In addition, there is coaggregation of calciuric and oxaluric phenotypes with stone formation.  相似文献

We applied extreme sib-pair methods in two ways to the GAW10 Problem 2A data sets to detect susceptible quantitative trait loci using extremely discordant sib pairs only, and combining them with the available extremely concordant sib pairs as suggested by the authors elsewhere. Ten successive original replicates were combined into one sampling pool so as to get the necessary number of extreme sib pairs. A total of 100 replicates were used to produce 10 such data sets for both initial detection and confirmations. Strong signals were found with markers D5G15 for Q1, D8G27-28 for Q4, and D9G7-9 for Q5.  相似文献

Extreme discordant sib pairs for mapping quantitative trait loci in humans   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3  
Analysis of differences between siblings (sib pair analysis) is a standard method of genetic linkage analysis for mapping quantitative trait loci, such as those contributing to hypertension and obesity, in humans. In traditional designs, pairs are selected at random or with one sib having an extreme trait value. The majority of such pairs provide little power to detect linkage; only pairs that are concordant for high values, low values, or extremely discordant pairs (for example, one in the top 10 percent and the other in the bottom 10 percent of the distribution) provide substantial power. Focus on discordant pairs can reduce the amount of genotyping necessary over conventional designs by 10- to 40-fold.  相似文献

The potential contribution of maturity-onset diabetes of the young (MODY) genes to NIDDM susceptibility in African-American and Caucasian NIDDM-affected sibling pairs with a history of adult-onset diabetic nephropathy has been evaluated. Evidence for linkage to NIDDM was found with polymorphic loci that map to the long arms of human chromosomes 20 and 12 in regions containing the MODY1 and MODY3 genes. Nonparametric analysis of chromosome 20 inheritance data collected with the MODY1-linked marker D20S197 provides evidence for linkage to NIDDM with a P value of 0.005 in Caucasian sib pairs using affected sibpair (ASP) analyses. Non-parametric analysis of chromosome 12 inheritance data collected with the MODY3-linked markers D12S349 and D12S86 provides evidence for linkage to NIDDM with P values of 0.04 and 0.006, respectively, in Caucasian sib pairs using similar analyses. No evidence for linkage of MODY1 and MODY3 markers to NIDDM in African-American sib pairs was observed. In addition, no evidence for linkage to MODY2 (glucokinase-associated MODY) was observed with either study population. Results of multipoint maximum logarithm of odds (LOD) score analysis were consistent with the ASP results. A maximum LOD score of 1.48 was calculated for linkage to MODY1-linked loci and 1.45 to MODY3-linked loci in Caucasian sib pairs. Tabulation of allele sharing in affected sib pairs with D20S197 and D12S349 suggests that affected sibling pairs may inherit susceptibility genes simultaneously from chromosome 20 and chromosome 12. The results suggest that genes contributing to NIDDM in the general Caucasian population are located in the regions containing the MODY1 and MODY3 genes.  相似文献

Familial eosinophilia (FE) is an autosomal dominant disorder characterized by peripheral hypereosinophilia of unidentifiable cause with or without other organ involvement. To localize the gene for FE, we performed a genomewide search in a large U.S. kindred, using 312 different polymorphic markers. Seventeen affected subjects, 28 unaffected bloodline relatives, and 8 spouses were genotyped. The initial linkage results from the genome scan provided evidence for linkage on chromosome 5q31-q33. Additional genotyping of genetic markers located in this specific region demonstrated significant evidence that the FE locus is situated between the chromosome 5q markers D5S642 and D5S816 (multipoint LOD score of 6.49). Notably, this region contains the cytokine gene cluster, which includes three genes-namely, those for interleukin (IL)-3, IL-5, and granulocyte/macrophage colony-stimulating factor (GM-CSF)-whose products play important roles in the development and proliferation of eosinophils. These three cytokine genes were screened for potential disease-specific mutations by resequencing of a subgroup of individuals from the present kindred. No functional sequence polymorphisms were found within the promoter, the exons, or the introns of any of these genes or within the IL-3/GM-CSF enhancer, suggesting that the primary defect in FE is not caused by a mutation in any one of these genes but, rather, is caused by another gene in the area.  相似文献

OBJECTIVE: To describe the demographics and clinical disease in affected sibpairs (ASPs) with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis (JRA), and to compare JRA as it occurs in ASPs with that from non-ASP JRA populations described in the literature. METHODS: A rare disease research registry was established with a focus on JRA ASPs to facilitate accrual of patients for genetic, epidemiologic, and clinical studies. Physicians likely to care for patients with JRA were made aware of the registry and its goals by a variety of methods and asked to refer patients for entry. RESULTS: To date, 71 ASPs have been registered and complete information has been obtained. These affected sibs differed in age by a mean of 4.1 years (SD 3.4) and in age at disease onset by 2.8 years (SD 3.0). The actual time difference between onset in sib 1 versus sib 2 averaged 4.4 years (SD 4.2). Sixty-three percent of the sibpairs were concordant for sex, and 76% for JRA onset type. Onset type within sibpairs did not appear to be random, based upon comparisons with non-ASP populations. Greater than expected concordance was seen among those with pauciarticular-onset and polyarticular-onset JRA. Seventy-nine percent of the pairs were concordant for course type. Seven sets of twins were included (approximately 10% of the total), all were concordant for onset and course type (6 sets with pauciarticular, 1 set with polyarticular), and disease onset was separated by a mean of only 3.3 months. Within the onset and course types, the clinical disease, such as the female:male ratio, age at onset, and serologic findings, in ASPs resembled that which has been described in the literature. CONCLUSION: A higher than expected degree of concordance for onset type of JRA exists between sibpairs, indicating that genetic influences play a role. Affected sibs do not tend to develop their disease at approximately the same point in time, except for the twin sets. Clinical features of the disease within the various subtypes appear similar to those in non-ASP populations.  相似文献

The NIMH Genetics Initiative is a multi-site collaborative study designed to create a national resource for genetic studies of complex neuropsychiatric disorders. Schizophrenia pedigrees have been collected at three sites: Washington University, Columbia University, and Harvard University. This article-one in a series that describes the results of a genome-wide scan with 459 short-tandem repeat (STR) markers for susceptibility loci in the NIMH Genetics Initiative schizophrenia sample-presents results for African-American pedigrees. The African-American sample comprises 30 nuclear families and 98 subjects. Seventy-nine of the family members were considered affected by virtue of having received a DSMIII-R diagnosis of schizophrenia (n = 71) or schizoaffective disorder, depressed (n = 8). The families contained a total of 42 independent sib pairs. While no region demonstrated evidence of significant linkage using the criteria suggested by Lander and Kruglyak, several regions, including chromosomes 6q16-6q24, 8pter-8q12, 9q32-9q34, and 15p13-15q12, showed evidence consistent with linkage (P = 0.01-0.05), providing independent support of findings reported in other studies. Moreover, the fact that different genetic loci were identified in this and in the European-American samples, lends credence to the notion that these genetic differences together with differences in environmental exposures may contribute to the reported differences in disease prevalence, severity, comorbidity, and course that has been observed in different racial groups in the United States and elsewhere.  相似文献

The idiopathic inflammatory bowel diseases, Crohn's disease (CD) and ulcerative colitis (UC), are chronic, frequently disabling diseases of the intestines. Segregation analyses, twin concordance, and ethnic differences in familial risks have established that CD and UC are complex, non-Mendelian, related genetic disorders. We performed a genome-wide screen using 377 autosomal markers, on 297 CD, UC, or mixed relative pairs from 174 families, 37% Ashkenazim. We observed evidence for linkage at 3q for all families (multipoint logarithm of the odds score (MLod) = 2.29, P = 5.7 x 10(-4)), with greatest significance for non-Ashkenazim Caucasians (MLod = 3.39, P = 3.92 x 10(-5)), and at chromosome 1p (MLod = 2.65, P = 2.4 x 10(-4)) for all families. In a limited subset of mixed families (containing one member with CD and another with UC), evidence for linkage was observed on chromosome 4q (MLod = 2.76, P = 1.9 x 10(-4)), especially among Ashkenazim. There was confirmatory evidence for a CD locus, overlapping IBD1, in the pericentromeric region of chromosome 16 (MLod = 1.69, P = 2.6 x 10(-3)), particularly among Ashkenazim (MLod = 1.51, P = 7.8 x 10(-3)); however, positive MLod scores were observed over a very broad region of chromosome 16. Furthermore, evidence for epistasis between IBD1 and chromosome 1p was observed. Thirteen additional loci demonstrated nominal (MLod > 1.0, P < 0.016) evidence for linkage. This screen provides strong evidence that there are several major susceptibility loci contributing to the genetic risk for CD and UC.  相似文献

Genome-wide scans for linkage of chromosome regions to type 1 diabetes in affected sib pair families have revealed that the major susceptibility locus resides within the major histocompatibility complex (MHC) on chromosome 6p21 (lambda s = 2.5). It is recognised that the MHC contains multiple susceptibility loci (referred to collectively as IDDM1), including the class II antigen receptor genes, which control the major pathological feature of the disease: T lymphocyte-mediated autoimmune destruction of the insulin-producing pancreatic beta cells. However, the MHC genes, and a second locus, the insulin gene minisatellite on chromosome 11p15 (IDDM2; lambda s = 1.25), cannot account for all of the observed clustering of disease in families (lambda s = 15), and the scans suggested the presence of other susceptibility loci scattered throughout the genome. There are four additional loci for which there is currently sufficient evidence from linkage and association studies to justify fine mapping experiments: IDDM4 (FGF3/11q13), IDDM5 (ESR/6q22), IDDM8 (D6S281/6q27) and IDDM12 (CTLA-4/2q33), IDDM4, 5 and 8 were detected by genome scanning, and IDDM12 by a candidate gene strategy. The results suggest that the clustering of type 1 diabetes in families is due to the sharing of alleles at multiple loci, and that the as yet unidentified environmental factors are not causing clustering, but instead appear to influence the overall penetrance of genetically programmed susceptibility. The data are consistent with a polygenic threshold model for the inheritance of type 1 diabetes.  相似文献

As part of an ongoing search for susceptibility loci for NIDDM, we tested 19 genes whose products are implicated in insulin secretion or action for linkage with NIDDM. Loci included the G-protein-coupled inwardly rectifying potassium channels expressed in beta-cells (KCNJ3 and KCNJ7), glucagon (GCG), glucokinase regulatory protein (GCKR), glucagon-like peptide I receptor (GLP1R), LIM/homeodomain islet-1 (ISL1), caudal-type homeodomain 3 (CDX3), proprotein convertase 2 (PCSK2), cholecystokinin B receptor (CCKBR), hexokinase 1 (HK1), hexokinase 2 (HK2), mitochondrial FAD-glycerophosphate dehydrogenase (GPD2), liver and muscle forms of pyruvate kinase (PKL, PKM), fatty acid-binding protein 2 (FABP2), hepatic phosphofructokinase (PFKL), protein serine/threonine phosphatase 1 beta (PPP1CB), and low-density lipoprotein receptor (LDLR). Additionally, we tested the histidine-rich calcium locus (HRC) on chromosome 19q. All regions were tested for linkage with microsatellite markers in 751 individuals from 172 families with at least two patients with overt NIDDM (according to World Health Organization criteria) in the sibship, using nonparametric methods. These 172 families comprise 352 possible affected sib pairs with overt NIDDM or 621 possible affected sib pairs defined as having a fasting plasma glucose value of >6.1 mmol/l or a glucose value of >7.8 mmol/l 2 h after oral glucose load. No evidence for linkage was found with any of the 19 candidate genes and NIDDM in our population by nonparametric methods, suggesting that those genes are not major contributors to the pathogenesis of NIDDM. However, some evidence for suggestive linkage was found between a more severe form of NIDDM, defined as overt NIDDM diagnosed before 45 years of age, and the CCKBR locus (11p15.4; P = 0.004). Analyses of six additional markers spanning 27 cM on chromosome 11p confirmed the suggestive linkage in this region. Whether an NIDDM susceptibility gene lies on chromosome 11p in our population must be determined by further analyses.  相似文献

Asthma is a genetically complex disease, and the investigation of putative linkages to candidate loci in independent populations is an important part of the gene discovery process. This study investigated the linkage of microsatellite markers in the 5q and 11q regions to asthma-associated quantitative traits in 121 Australian Caucasian nuclear families. The families were recruited on the basis of a child proband: a cohort of 95 randomly recruited families of unselected probands (n = 442 subjects) and a cohort of 26 families of probands selected on the basis of severe symptomatic asthma (n = 134 subjects). The quantitative traits assessed included serum levels of total IgE and specific IgE to house dust mite and mixed grass, blood eosinophil counts, and the dose-response slope (DRS) of FEV1 to histamine provocation. Multipoint linkage analysis using Haseman-Elston sib-pair methods provided evidence of significant linkage between the chromosome 5q markers and loge total serum IgE levels, specific serum IgE levels, and loge blood eosinophil counts. The chromosome 11q markers showed evidence of significant linkage to specific serum IgE levels. Neither region demonstrated significant linkage to the loge DRS to histamine. Phenotypes were residualized for age and sex. These data are consistent with the existence of loci regulating asthma-associated quantitative traits in both the 5q31-33 and 11q13 chromosomal regions.  相似文献

We introduce a novel application for linkage analysis: using bone marrow donor-recipient sib pairs to search for genes influential in graft-versus-host disease (GVHD), a major cause of morbidity and mortality following allogeneic bone marrow transplantation. In particular, we show that transplant sib pairs in which the recipient developed severe GVHD can be used to map genes in the same way as traditional discordant (affected/unaffected) sib pairs (DSPs). For a plausible GVHD model, we demonstrate that the transplant/discordant sib pair analog of the "possible triangle test" [Holmans (1993) Am J Hum Genet 52:362-374] has similar power to that of the simpler "restricted test" proposed by Risch [(1990b) Am J Hum Genet 46:229-241; (1992) Am J Hum Genet 51:673-675]. Moreover, we show that the restricted test has superior power in much of the DSP possible triangle and significantly inferior power in only a small region. Thus, we conclude that the restricted test is preferable for localizing genes with transplant/discordant sib pairs. Finally, we examine the effects of heterogeneity on the power to detect GVHD loci and demonstrate the gain in efficiency by dividing the sample into genetically more homogeneous subgroups.  相似文献

A recent report has provided strong evidence for a major prostate cancer susceptibility locus (HPC1) on chromosome 1q24-25 (Smith et al, 1996). Most inherited cancer susceptibility genes function as tumour-suppressor genes (TSGs). Allelic loss or imbalance in tumour tissue is often the hallmark of a TSG. Studies of allelic loss have not previously implicated the chromosomal region 1q24-25 in prostate cancer. However, analysis of tumour DNA from cases in prostate cancer families has not been reported. In this study, we have evaluated DNA from tissue obtained from small families [3-5 affected members (n = 17)], sibling pairs (n = 15) and sporadic (n = 40) prostate tumours using the three markers from Smith et al (1996) that defined the maximum multipoint linkage lod score. Although widely spaced (12-50 cM), each marker showed evidence of allelic imbalance in only approximately 7.5% of informative tumours. There was no difference between the familial and sporadic cases. We conclude that the incidence of allelic imbalance at HPC1 is low in both sporadic tumours and small prostate cancer families. In this group of patients, HPC1 is unlikely to be acting as a TSG in the development of prostate cancer.  相似文献

Salt sensitivity is a heritable trait that is a hallmark of hypertension in black Americans. Genes encoding adrenergic receptors are candidate loci for the inheritance of this hypertension-related trait because of the role of these receptors in the regulation of renal sodium excretion and vascular tone. We performed this study to determine whether these loci are responsible for some of the phenotypic variation in salt sensitivity. Hypertensive black American probands were ascertained, followed by sequential ascertainment of adult sib pairs among the first-, second- and third-degree relatives of the proband. Both hypertensive and normotensive siblings were tested for salt sensitivity by an intravenous sodium-loading, lasix volume-depletion protocol. Genotyping was performed with restriction fragment length polymorphisms in genomic DNA probed with clones containing the beta 2- and alpha 2c10-adrenergic receptor genes. A total of 109 sib pairs was evaluated. Salt sensitivity was defined as the change in blood pressure in each individual, comparing the sodium-loaded with the volume-depleted state. Systolic pressure decreased by an average of 9.0 +/- 9%, diastolic pressure by 1.5 +/- 11%, and mean arterial pressure by 5.0 +/- 9%. Neither blood pressure nor salt sensitivity was linked at the alpha 2c10-adrenergic receptor locus. No evidence suggested that systolic salt sensitivity and baseline blood pressure were linked at the beta 2-adrenergic receptor locus. Model-independent sib pair linkage analysis suggested that diastolic blood pressure response to sodium loading/volume depletion is linked at the beta 2-adrenergic receptor locus (P < .006). Evidence for linkage was significant at the .05 level after adjustment for the number of phenotypic traits examined.  相似文献

We studied twins to examine the genetics of epilepsy syndromes. We ascertained 358 twin pairs in whom one or both reported seizures. After evaluation, 253 of 358 (71%) had seizure disorders and 105 pairs were false positives. Among the monozygous (MZ) pairs, more were concordant for seizures (48 of 108; casewise concordance = 0.62 +/- 0.05) than among the dizygous (DZ) pairs (14 of 145; casewise concordance = 0.18 +/- 0.04). In 94% of concordant MZ pairs, and 71% of concordant DZ pairs, both twins had the same major epilepsy syndrome. When analyzed according to major epilepsy syndrome, the casewise concordances for generalized epilepsies (MZ = 0.82; DZ = 0.26), both idiopathic (MZ = 0.76; DZ = 0.33) and symptomatic (MZ = 0.83; DZ = 0), were greater than those for partial epilepsies (MZ = 0.36; DZ = 0.05), with intermediate values seen for febrile seizures (MZ = 0.58; DZ = 0.14) and unclassified epilepsies (MZ = 0.53; DZ = 0.18). We conclude that genetic factors are particularly important in the generalized epilepsies but also play a role in the partial epilepsies. The high frequency of concordant MZ pairs with the same major syndrome strongly suggests there are syndrome-specific genetic determinants rather than a broad genetic predisposition to seizures.  相似文献

In a 12.5 cM genome-wide scan for psoriasis susceptibility loci, recombination-based tests revealed linkage to the HLA region (Zmax = 3.52), as well as suggestive linkage to two novel regions: chromosome 16q (60-83.1 cM from pter, Zmax = 2.50), and chromosome 20p (7.5-25 cM from pter, Zmax = 2.62). All three regions yielded P values < or = 0.01 by non-parametric analysis. Recombination-based and allele sharing methods also confirmed a previous report of a dominant susceptibility locus on distal chromosome 17q (108.2 cM from pter, Zmax = 2.09, GENEHUNTER P = 0.0056). We could not confirm a previously reported locus on distal chromosome 4q; however, a broad region of unclear significance was identified proximal to this proposed locus (153.6-178.4 cM from pter, Zmax = 1.01). Taken together with our recent results demonstrating linkage to HLA-B and -C, this genome-wide scan identifies a psoriasis susceptibility locus at HLA, confirms linkage to 17q, and recommends two novel genomic regions for further scrutiny. One of these regions (16q) overlaps with a recently-identified susceptibility locus for Crohn's disease. Psoriasis is much more common in patients with Crohn's disease than in controls, suggesting that an immunomodulatory locus capable of influencing both diseases may reside in this region.  相似文献

Transgenic mice were generated using regulatory elements from the CD3delta gene to drive T cell expression of IL-5. Expression of this cytokine resulted in white blood cell counts that expand virtually unabated (approximately 400,000 cells/mm3). This expansion is characterized by a profound eosinophilia (>60%) and commensurate increases in the absolute numbers of all other white blood cell types. In particular, circulating B220+ B lymphocyte populations increased >30-fold over wild-type (+/+) levels. Cell differentials and expression studies using a marker for eosinophil precursor cells (major basic protein gene expression) suggest that the peripheral eosinophilia is induced primarily through the establishment of extramedullary sites of eosinophilopoiesis. These mice display a massive peritoneal cavity cell exudate (1-2 x 10(8) cells) dominated by eosinophils (approximately 50%) and the infiltration of eosinophils in nearly all organ systems. Sudden unexplained death occurs in 70% of all transgenic animals by 12 mo of age. Surviving transgenic animals display severe inflammatory pathologies that include ulcerating skin lesions as well as lower bowel inflammation. These pathologies parallel clinical observations of patients with a profound eosinophilia and imply that IL-5 effector functions during some inflammatory responses may be contingent upon peripheral lymphohemopoietic expression.  相似文献

Four sibs are described with Meckel syndrome, an autosomal recessive disorder with multiple abnormalities. Each sib manifested only two of the three cardinal sings of Meckel syndrome - encephalocoele and polycystic kidneys, lacking polydactyly. The literature is examined to assess the phenotypic variation of the condition: 57% of cases have all the three major abnormalities, 16% have the two found in this family, and the remainder exhibit other variations. In 9 of 17 families where more than one sib is affected, manifestation between sibs is the same, but in the only other two families with as many as four affected sibs, there is variation in expression between sibs.  相似文献

Celiac disease (CD), a malabsorption disorder of the small intestine, results from ingestion of gluten. The HLA risk factors involved in CD are well known but do not explain the entire genetic susceptibility. To determine the localization of other genetic risk factors, a systematic screening of the genome has been undertaken. The typing information of 281 markers on 110 affected sib pairs and their parents was used to test linkage. Systematic linkage analysis was first performed on 39 pairs in which both sibs had a symptomatic form of CD. Replication of the regions of interest was then carried out on 71 pairs in which one sib had a symptomatic form and the other a silent form of CD. In addition to the HLA loci, our study suggests that a risk factor in 5qter is involved in both forms of CD (symptomatic and silent). Furthermore, a factor on 11qter possibly differentiates the two forms. In contrast, none of the regions recently published was confirmed by the present screening.  相似文献

BACKGROUND: The histologic appearance of esophageal eosinophils has been correlated with esophagitis and gastroesophageal reflux disease in children. Esophageal eosinophilia that persists despite traditional antireflux therapy may not represent treatment failure, but instead may portray early eosinophilic gastroenteritis or allergic esophagitis. In this study, a series of pediatric patients with severe esophageal eosinophilia who were unresponsive to aggressive antireflux therapy were examined and their clinical and histologic response to oral corticosteroid therapy assessed. METHODS: Of 1809 patients evaluated prospectively over 2.5 years for symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux, 20 had persistent symptoms and esophageal eosinophilia, despite aggressive therapy with omeprazole and cisapride. These patients were treated with 1.5 mg/kg oral methylprednisolone per day, divided into twice-daily doses for 4 weeks. All patients underwent clinical, laboratory, and histologic evaluation before and after treatment. RESULTS: Histologic findings in examination of specimens obtained in pretreatment esophageal biopsies in children with primary eosinophilic esophagitis indicated significantly greater eosinophilia (34.2+/-9.6 eosinophils/high-power field [HPF]) compared with that in children with gastroesophageal reflux disease who responded to medical therapy (2.26+/-1.16 eosinophils/HPF; p < 0.001). After corticosteroid therapy, all but one patient with primary eosinophilic esophagitis had dramatic clinical improvement, supported by histologic examination (1.5 +/-0.9 eosinophils/HPF, p < 0.0001). CONCLUSIONS: Pediatric patients in a series with marked esophageal eosinophilia and chronic symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease unresponsive to aggressive medical antire-flux therapy had both clinical and histologic improvement after oral corticosteroid therapy.  相似文献
