Production of paving asphalts from high-wax crude oils

High-quality BND 40/60 and BND 60/90 asphalts were made from high-wax Kotur-Tepe crudes with additives — heavy catalytic gasoil, hard asphalt from propane deasphalting, and extracts from selective treatment of oil feedstock — were manufactured in pilot conditions. Production of such asphalts by direct oxidation of vacuum resid is not possible. Standardization of the quality of viscous paving asphalts

Production of a protective wax of improved quality from petroleum feedstock

A procedure is proposed for the production of a protective wax, the essence of which consists in dewaxing of the reffinate of lube-oil distillate with a boiling range of from 450–490 to 520°C using solvents of acetone:methyl tri-butyl ether mixtures (with additives), acetone:/methyl ethyl ketone:toluol mixtures, etc. The procedure in question ensures a reduction in the net cost of the protective wax and improvement in its in-service properties.
