A new S-type of erbium-ytterbium co-doped phosphate glass waveguide amplifier integrated with cascaded multilayer medium thin film filter is proposed, this S-type geometry waveguide structure is used to achieve a long path in a compact chip,and obtained higher gain with lower Er-doped concentration. The cascaded multilayer medium thin film filter is utilized to achieve a broader flattening gain bandwidth. The intrinsical gain spectrum is obtained by solving rate and power propagation equations, the effect of transmittance spectrum of thin film filter on flattening gain is discussed.  相似文献

The amplification effect on stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) and Rayleigh scattering in the backward pumped G652 fibers Raman amplifier have been researched. The signal source is a tunable narrow spectral bandwidth (〈10 MHz) ECL laser and is pumped by the tunable power 1427.2 nm fiber Raman laser. The Rayleigh scattering lines are amplified by fiber Raman amplifier, and Stokes stimulated Brillouin scattering lines are amplified by fiber Raman amplifier and fiber Brillouin amplifier. The SBS lines total gain is a production of the gain of Raman and the gain of Brillouin amplifier. In experiment, the gain of SBS is about 42 dB and the saturation gain of 25 Ion G652 backward FRA is about 25 dB, so the gain of fiber Brillouin amplifier is about 17 dB.  相似文献

Based on the nonlinear power coupled equations of fiber Raman amplifiers (FRA), the optimal design to the pumps source has been done with modified genetic arithmetic in this paper. The numerical simulation shows that, for a 40 channels DWDM system and with three pump sources, the Raman gain of about 10dB can be obtained, and the gain ripple is about 1.5dB. The result is useful for the design of backward-pump FRA.  相似文献

A novel method to measure the gain and refractive index characteristics of traveling-wave semiconductor optical amplifier(TMA) is presented. In-out fiber ends of TWA are used to construct an external cavity resonator to produce big ripple on amplified spontaneous emission(ASE) spectrum. By this means,Hakki-Paoli method is adepted to obtain the gain spectra of TWA over a wide spectral range. From measured longitudinal mode spacing and peak wavelength shift due to increased bias current, we further calculate the effective refractive index and the refractive index change. Special feature of refractive index change above lasing threshold is revealed and explained.  相似文献

This paper experimentally demonstrates a low-cost energy efficient alternative technique for long reach transfer of accurate reference frequency (RF) clock signals for extended reach RF distribution systems. This is achieved by adopting distributed forward Raman amplification and vertical cavity surface emitting laser (VCSEL) technology. A class 10G VCSEL is directly modulated with a 2 GHz RF clock signal. By exploiting a forward Raman pump with the flat gain of 8.6 dB, a 100.8-km-long standard single mode fiber (SMF) RF clock distribution is experimentally achieved. A maximum phase noise of ?117.66 dBc/Hz at offset frequency of 100 kHz and an RF clock jitter (RMS) of 5.36 ps is experimentally measured for 100.8-km-long fiber transmission without forward Raman amplification. However, with the adoption of forward Raman amplification, the measured phase noise and RMS improves to ?86.59 dBc/Hz and 1.7 ps, respectively. Forward Raman pumping offers distributed high flat gain over a wide spectra range (over 35.5 nm), while VCSELs offer cost effective broadband signal distribution, therefore keeping the network optics investment low.  相似文献

In this paper,the optimum supercontinuum(SC)spectrum generation in a dispersion decreasing fiber is presented.Three normalized parameters for the pump pulse and SC fiber are introduced.It is found that the shape of an SC spectrum is uniquely specified by the input soliton order,the normalized dispersion slope and the normalized effective fiber length.For a pumping condition with a given input soliton order and a given normalized dispersion slope,by optimizing the normalized effective fiber length,the residual spectral peak in the SC spectrum can be suppressed effectively,and a broad SC spectrum with optimum spectral flatness can be obtained.  相似文献

Device-to-Device (D2D) communications have drawn considerable attention with the obvious advantages of a higher data rate and spectrum efficiency. However, this also brings intra-cell interference due to resource sharing with traditional Cellular users (CUs). An effective resource allocation scheme for D2D communications to maximize the system throughput is developed. This scheme first utilizes the guard area model to restrict the interference between D2D users (DUs) and CUs. Then, a max-flow algorithm is used to match the pair of CUs and DUs and maximize the total sum rate of the communication system. Numeral results demonstrate that the proposed scheme can yield significant throughput gain while maintaining quality for both CUs and DUs.  相似文献

We investigate the pump-depleted model of a dual-pump fiber optical parametric amplifier(FOPA) with Raman effect.As bandwidth increases,the gain profile of the distorted FOPA would be impacted seriously.Under the widebands,especially when the pump separation is large,zero dispersion wavelength(ZDW) fluctuation is another factor which can not be neglected.Numerical simulations with these comprehensive factors are mainly analyzed to obtain their influence on gain characteristics.Saturated gain spectrum is also discussed in detail.  相似文献

The various mode effective indices of the doped photonic crystal fibers (PCFs) are compared, the mode field distributions of the fundamental mode and the second-order mode are analyzed, and the single-mode condition is presented. The mode effective indices of large-core doped PCFs with different core indices and structure parameters are simulated by the finite element method (FEM). The relations of the core index with the fiber structure parameters of pitch, hole-to-pitch ratio and core diameter are obtained for single-mode propagation. In the design and fabrication of the doped PCF, we can adjust the core index and fiber structure parameters to achieve large mode area and single-mode propagation.  相似文献

本文采用Lorentz线型近似,研究了多波长泵浦宽带Raman放大器的增益特性,并提出了宽带增益平坦的多波长泵浦方案。研究结果表明,增益平坦程度与泵浦波的频率间隔密切相关。对ITU-T的G.652、G.653及G.655光纤和新型的大有效面积非零色散平坦光纤的Raman放大增益特性研究表明,Raman增益与光纤的种类和光纤传输特性有关,特别是随光纤有效纤芯面积的增大而明显减小。  相似文献

The Stokes spectrum in the stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) is very complicated. In this article, we use both Gaussian and Lorentz approximation to investigate the gain properties of multi-pumping broadband Raman amplifier, and present some schemes for flattening the gain. All the results show that the flatness of the gain spectrum is closely related to the pumping frequency grid. By researching the gain properties of Raman amplifiers of such ITU-T fibers as G.652, G.653, G.655 and large effective area non-zero dispersion flattening fiber, we find that the Raman gain is associated with the fiber type and its transmission characteristics, especially it decreases with the increase of the effective core area.  相似文献

根据实际所测得的S波段光纤拉曼放大器的信号增益谱,通过对长周期光纤光栅具体参数的选定,由两个长周期光纤光栅级联滤波的组合,可以使增益图谱在50 nm(1485-1535 nm)带宽内,增益平坦度达到±0.6dB以内.由三个长周期光纤光栅级联滤波组合,可以使增益图谱在49 nm(1490-1539 nm)带宽内,增益平坦度达到0.5 dB, 55 nm(1485-1540 nm)带宽内,增益平坦度达到1 dB.这对扩大长周期光纤光栅增益平坦滤波器的运用范围,扩大单泵浦S波段光纤拉曼放大器的有效增益带宽有着积极的意义.  相似文献

采用符合ITU-T标准的G波段40信道波分复用(WDM)光源对分布式拉曼放大器(DRA)的特性进行了实验研究。对不同抽运方式及不同光纤长度的分布式拉曼放大器性能作了较为详细的报道。在抽运功率相同的条件下,选用50km单模光纤对比研究了不同抽运方式的拉曼放大器增益和噪声。通过对不同光纤长度的分布式拉曼放大器的实验研究发现,在较低抽运功率且输入信号功率较低的情况下,随着光纤长度增加,拉曼增益也增加,有效噪声系数减小。研究了分布式拉曼放大器对波分复用通信系统信噪比的改善,实验发现不同抽运功率下,拉曼放大器对系统信噪比的改善随抽运功率增加而增加,但是不成线性关系,而且最终会出现饱和。  相似文献
