The first applications of rubber-like and polymeric man-made materials, as linings of canals and reservoirs, were introduced about 40 years ago. Since then these materials have played an increasingly important role in modern civil engineering and especially in water conservation, agriculture and industrial water pollution control. A large number of various types of linings have been experimented with in a growing number of applications, for larger and larger covered surfaces, as well as in some new fields of use such as earth dams.

In order to understand the advantages and the possibilities of linings and of thin waterproof membranes—called geomembranes—it is useful to consider the composition and structure of these synthetic materials and their physical, mechanical, chemical and biological performances, as well as their durability.

Thus, acting with full knowledge of the problem to be solved and also of the available geomembranes with given performances, an appropriate solution can be adopted in each specific case to give long-term successful service.  相似文献

Over the last decade there has been much interest shown in the use of textiles in civil engineering construction, particularly in geotechnical engineering where geotextiles are associated with soil. Is this a fad, or something more profound and durable? In attempting to rationalize this dramatic development it is concluded that geotextiles do offer many technical and economic advantages. However, at present geotextiles are commonly used as a replacement for traditional building materials using traditional construction methods rather than more innovative techniques that could only be employed using geotextiles. It is concluded that the development of these techniques is the real future of geotextiles and that this future can only be secured by the close cooperation of both textile and civil engineers.  相似文献

基于中国知网(CNKI)学术期刊数据库平台,采用统计学定量分析的方法,查询近十年有关布鲁氏菌研究论文的发表时间分布、主题、作者、院校等几个维度进行统计分析,确定布鲁氏菌研究的核心作者、研究内容、研究方法、研究主题等,以期分析十年数据,对今后在布鲁氏菌的研究提供重要参考.结论:文献量符合龚帕兹生产曲线模型;研究"布鲁氏菌"还没有达到成熟学科信息作者的最佳分布状态; 60%的文献论文集中在八个主要的期刊中发表.  相似文献
