新型低成本钛合金高周疲劳性能和断裂韧度   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
研究了双态组织和片层组织对新型低成本钛合金室温拉伸性能、断裂韧度以及高周疲劳性能的影响。试验结果表明:双态组织的抗拉强度低于片层组织,同时具有更高的拉伸塑性;由于裂纹在片层组织中的扩展方向的改变比在双态组织中更频繁;因此,具有更高的断裂韧性(119.24 MPa.m1/2);相对于片层组织,双态组织抗疲劳裂纹萌生的能力更强,具有更高的疲劳强度(790 MPa)。  相似文献

In this work tensile strength, fatigue resistance and fracture toughness of two electroslag remelted (ESR) tool steels and of 33CrMoV12 ESR steel (both in quenched and tempered condition, as well as nitrided condition) were evaluated. The role of hardness, residual stresses and inclusion sizes on the fatigue behavior was investigated. Tool steels have a tensile strength between about 1900 and 2300 MPa, fracture toughness between 35 and 33 MPa√m, while fatigue strength ranges between 725 and 992 MPa. The tensile strength and fracture toughness of the 33CrMoV12 ESR are, respectively, 1365 MPa and about 150 MPa√m. Nitriding induces a significant increase in fatigue strength from 560 to 980 MPa. These results highlight that appropriate ESR tool steels could replace nitrided steels.  相似文献

The purpose of this study was to evaluate rotary bending high-cycle fatigue properties and crack growth of Nimonic 80A-based metal and electron beam-welded joints. All the tests were performed at room temperature. Fracture surfaces under high-cycle fatigue and fatigue crack growth were observed by scanning electron microscopy. Microstructure, hardness and tensile properties were also evaluated in order to understand the effects on the fatigue results obtained. It was found that the tensile properties, hardness and high-cycle fatigue properties of the welded joint are lower than the base metal. The fracture surface of the high-cycle fatigue shows that fatigue crack initiated from the surface under the high stress amplitude and from the subsurface under the low stress amplitude. The effect of the welding process on the statistical fatigue data was studied with a special focus on probabilistic life prediction and probabilistic lifetime limits. The fatigue crack growth rate versus stress intensity factor range data were obtained from the fatigue crack growth tests. From the results, it was evident that the fatigue crack growth rates of the welded are higher than the base metal. The mechanisms and fracture modes of fatigue crack growth of welded specimens were found to be related to the stress intensity factor range ΔK. In addition, the effective fatigue crack propagation thresholds and mismatch of welded joints were described and discussed.  相似文献

Three martensite contents (approximately 35, 50, and 100%) were obtained in a SAE8822 steel by altering the quenching media and section size. Another variation in martensite content (approximately 80 versus 97%) was achieved by quenching a SAE8622 steel in the same section size. The impact toughness and fatigue properties were determined after tempering to various levels of monotonic strength. Toughness and strength-toughness combinations improved with increased as-quenched martensite contents at all levels of as-tempered ultimate tensile strength (UTS). Even at higher levels of yield strength (YS), increased martensite contents produced higher impact energies and lower fracture appearance transition temperatures. The cyclic YS was independent of martensite content (at the same level of UTS), even though the monotonic YS increased with martensite content. When fatigue test results were compared at a tensile strength of 1240 MPa (180 ksi), actual and predicted fatigue lives in the high cycle regime increased with martensite content, but low cycle fatigue resistance was relatively unaffected. Fatigue strength and UTS were directly related, and all the quenched and tempered steels exhibited cyclic softening.  相似文献

本文用定量金相仪(QTM)和扫描电镜(SEM)测定含与不含稀土元素(RE)的2.25Cr-1Mo钢的夹杂物尺寸及分布;观察断口形态并测定延伸区宽度和韧窝尺度及分布;测定拉伸样品纵剖面上孔洞面密度与真应变的关系.研究表明,添加RE的试验钢中夹杂物密度较高,在较低的应变下沿夹杂物界面发生孔洞形核、长大和汇合,导致含RE的2.25Cr-1Mo钢较低的室温断裂性能.  相似文献

The strength and toughness properties of hot- rolled plates from three commercial heats of a highstrength low-alloy steel were investigated with respect to their intrinsic microstructural and inclusion characteristics. One heat was argon purged and contained relatively higher carbon and sulfur, whereas the other two heats, with lower carbon and sulfur levels, were sulfide shape controlled. The study revealed that although yield and tensile strengths specific to a heat were unaffected by testing direction, the anisotropy in tensile ductility was greater in steels with stringered sulfides. Despite similar grain sizes in all the steels, Charpy shelf energy and impact transition temperature were significantly affected by pearlite content and sulfide morphology and to a lesser extent by pearlite banding. The modification of stringer sulfides to tiny lenticular/globular oxysulfides resulted in considerably higher shelf energies, lowering of impact transition temperatures, and minimal anisotropy of impact properties. The macroscopic appearance of splitting on the fracture surfaces of transverse Charpy specimens associated with low impact energies confirmed failure by a low- energy mode. The presence of pancake- shaped ferrite grains and fractographic evidence of inclusion stringers inside furrows identified their role in accentuating the splitting phenomenon.  相似文献

AZ91D压铸镁合金中加入富Ce稀土后,组织得到明显细化,压铸过程中产生的气孔变小,分布更加均匀,能够减少疲劳裂纹源的产生。AZ91D合金拉伸断口表现为既有解理台阶又存在细小撕裂棱及韧窝的混合断裂特征,加入1?后,合金断口的韧性断裂特征增加,有利于提高合金的室温力学性能。AZ91D合金疲劳裂纹源萌生于合金内部的气孔和夹杂处,疲劳裂纹沿晶界扩展,加入稀土后,疲劳裂纹扩展区有疲劳辉纹出现,疲劳断裂呈现出准解理和韧窝断裂的混合特征。  相似文献

对DZ125定向凝固高温合金的室温、高温拉伸,高温低周、高周疲劳,以及疲劳/蠕变交互断裂特征进行了研究。结果表明:DZ125合金室温、高温拉伸断口具有类解理断裂、韧窝断裂和沿枝晶断裂的混合特征,断裂机制为中心微孔聚集型断裂;高温低周疲劳断裂断口与主应力方向垂直;高温高周疲劳断裂断口疲劳裂纹扩展第一阶段表现为类解理小平面和平行锯齿状断裂特征。低周/蠕变交互断裂特征与相同条件下低周疲劳断口主要存在3方面差异:疲劳扩展区面积明显减小;断口上的撕裂棱线较多且相互连接;断口上氧化严重,特别是在疲劳扩展区,存在明显的致密氧化层。  相似文献

Abstract

The objective of the present study is to develop and evaluate novel weld repairs of bainitic rail steel defects, such as detail fracture, induced by in service loading. Slots were machined in the bainitic rail steel to simulate the removal of service defects. Multipass gas metal arc welding was used to fill and repair the slots. Three-point bend tests of the parent and welded steels revealed that the flexural weld efficiency was 75%. Fatigue crack propagation (FCP) tests were performed on specimens from the welded joints and compared with the parent materials to determine the mechanical integrity of the slot repairs. The fatigue lifetime and FCP kinetics were similar for the parent and slot welded bainitic steels, indicating similar resistance to FCP. The fatigue fracture surface morphology of the parent and welded bainitic rail steels both revealed mostly a ductile fracture mechanism in all the three FCP stages.  相似文献

In industrial practice, variations in the steelmaking process may cause significant change in inclusion characteristics. During hot rolling of flat steel products, manganese sulfides, which are plastic at elevated temperatures, are elongated in the rolling direction. These elongated inclusions affect the formability properties, such as ductility, strain hardening exponent, average plastic strain ratio, critical strain represented by the forming limit diagram, and Charpy V- notch (CVN) impact energy as well as fracture behavior. The inclusion characteristics and microstructural features of three commercially produced hot- rolled deep- drawing quality steels were evaluated and their effects on formability and impact properties were investigated. All three heats were made in a basic oxygen furnace. Two heats were teemed into ingots while the other heat was argon purged and continuous cast. These heats were then processed into 3.10 mm thick strips with identical processing parameters. Manganese sulfide stringers were found to reduce the transverse ductility, whereas yield and tensile strengths remained virtually the same in all directions. The formability parameters were not significantly affected by small variations in inclusion characteristics. However, CVN impact energy and impact transition temperature data were observed to improve with steel cleanliness. The sulfide stringers were also found to adversely affect the impact energy, transition temperature, and fracture behavior in the transverse direction.  相似文献

An investigation was carried out to examine the influence of microstructure and chromium on the tensile properties and plane strain fracture toughness of austempered ductile cast iron (ADI). The investigation also examined the growth kinetics of ferrite in these alloys. Compact tension and round cylindrical tensile specimens were prepared from ductile cast iron with Cr as well as without Cr. These specimens were then given four different heat treatments to produce four different microstructures. Tensile tests and fracture toughness tests were carried out as per ASTM standards E-8 and E-399. The crack growth mechanism during fracture toughness tests was also determined. The test results indicate that yield strength, tensile strength, and fracture toughness of ADI increases with an increase in the volume fractions of ferrite, and the fracture toughness reaches a peak when the volume fractions of the ferrite are approximately 60% in these alloys. The Cr addition was found to reduce the fracture toughness of ADI at lower hardness levels (<40 HRC); at higher hardness levels (≥40 HRC), the effect of chromium on the fracture toughness was negligible. The crack growth mechanism was found to be a combination of quasi-cleavage and microvoid coalescences, and the crack trajectories connect the graphite nodules along the way.  相似文献

研究了热处理对TC4-DT合金φ300 mm棒材显微组织、拉伸性能、断裂韧性和疲劳裂纹扩展速率的影响.结果表明:经800℃×2 hAC简单退火、α+β相区固溶+时效、β相区固溶+时效处理后的TC4-DT的显微组织分别为等轴组织、双态组织和片状组织.等轴组织具有较好的拉伸性能、低的断裂韧性和高的疲劳裂纹扩展速率:双态组织与等轴组织相比较,具有较好的拉伸性能,较高的断裂韧性和较低的疲劳裂纹扩展速率:片状组织的拉伸强度低于双态组织和等轴组织,塑性最低,断裂韧性和疲劳裂纹扩展速率与双态组织的基本相同.总体来说,TC4-DT合金经α+β相区固溶+时效、β相区固溶+时效处理后可获得R_m≥3825 Mpa,R_(P0.2)≥750 Mpa,A_5≥8%,K℃≥90 Mpa ,疲劳裂纹扩展速率小于8×10~(-6)~9×10~(-6) mm/cycle的综合性能.  相似文献

为研究钛合金轮盘内部硬α夹杂疲劳裂纹扩展特性,对含预置硬α夹杂钛合金轮盘开展低循环疲劳裂纹扩展试验。结果表明:5229次循环后轮盘破裂;疲劳断口宏观、微观特征显示,预置硬α夹杂为本次疲劳破坏的疲劳源;在裂纹扩展前期,轮盘断口裂纹扩展速率较材料试验数据快;在裂纹扩展中期,断口裂纹扩展速率曲线呈对数线性关系;为了解决疲劳裂纹扩展后期疲劳条带不易识别的问题,使用等效裂纹扩展模型拟合断口裂纹扩展速率曲线,从而可以利用疲劳条带宽度来计算总寿命。同时,利用断口数据,提出和总结了预置硬α夹杂钛合金轮盘裂纹扩展特性仿真研究的方法。仿真研究显示:基于Paris公式建立裂纹扩展模型能较好地预测轮盘裂纹扩展特性;轮盘由于疲劳发生最终断裂破坏时,裂纹前沿的应力强度因子远大于断裂韧性,因此,不宜使用应力强度因子直接作为破裂准则。  相似文献

研究了不同热处理制度下得到的3种具有不同晶粒尺寸的42CrMoVNb高强度钢的超高周疲劳性能. 结果表明, 超高周疲劳强度和疲劳强度比并不随晶粒尺寸的减小而单调提高, 中等晶粒尺寸的试样具有最高的疲劳强度和疲劳强度比. SEM断口观察表明, 绝大部分试样的疲劳裂纹起源于夹杂物. 随着疲劳断口裂纹源夹杂物处应力强度因子幅ΔKinc的减小, 疲劳寿命Nf增加; 而在夹杂物周围的粗糙粒状区域(GBF)的应力强度因子幅ΔKGBF并不随Nf变化而变化, 基本为一常数, 且粗晶粒试样的ΔKGBF高于细晶粒试样. 这表明, 细化晶粒对高强度钢的超高周疲劳性能有着复杂的影响,存在一个合理的细化晶粒范围.  相似文献

Three different product forms of Ti–6Al–4V, unidirectionally rolled and cross-rolled plate and forged bar, have been cyclically loaded within the high-cycle fatigue regime to investigate fatigue crack initiation. The fracture surfaces of fatigued specimens contained large regions of neighbouring facets. The majority of facets examined had a near-basal fracture plane. It was shown that grains favouring crack initiation were primarily those with misorientations between 15° and 40° from the loading direction, whereas other orientations served as crack growth paths. This implies that the formation of a facet requires a combination of a moderately high Schmid factor for basal slip coupled with a tensile component perpendicular to the basal plane. The large regions of neighbouring facets on the fracture surface were found to be a consequence of cracking within a macrozone unfavourably oriented for slip found within the microstructure, i.e. one with its c-axis near to the loading direction.  相似文献

Investigations of the corrosion fatigue behaviour at a super pure martensitic stainless steel X5CrNiCuNb 17 4 PH in comparison to the soft martensitic stainless steel X4CrNiMo 16 5 1 ESR in chloride containing aqueous media — Part 2: Corrosion fatigue tests and crack initiation mechanisms The following report concerns the study of the corrosion fatigue behaviour of the soft martensitic steel X4CrNiMo 16 5 1 ESR and the precipitation hardened X5CrNiCuNb 17 4 PH in sodium solution in the temperature range between 20° and 150 °C and the determination of their general corrosion properties and the mechanism of crack propagation. Their corrosion fatigue limits were compared with each other. A comparision was also made between an electro-slag-remelted soft martensitic steel and a charge without an ESR aftertreatment. Microfractographical fracture and crack path investigation were carried out for interpretation of the experimental results. It was observed that in both super pure steels (soft martensitic and precipitation hardened) the oxidic inclusions are not responsible for the crack intiation, as it was found in the non ESR treated steels. In the 17-4 PH steel copper containing inclusions in the crack initiation areas were observed. In concentrated sodium solution pitting corrosion was found at both steels.  相似文献

压铸AZ91D镁合金中添加稀土Nd后,生成了新的稀土化合物Al11Nd3相,合金显微组织得到细化,力学性能得到提高,但是当Nd的添加量达到1.5%时,合金的力学性能又有所下降。AZ91D xNd合金拉伸断口具有准解理、撕裂棱及韧窝等韧性特征,但其断裂方式仍属于脆性断裂。含Nd的AZ91D合金疲劳裂纹萌生于试样的表面或亚表面下的孔隙或夹杂处,疲劳裂纹扩展区为平面状断面,含1.0%Nd合金的疲劳辉纹最为清晰,疲劳断口主要表现为脆性与韧性的混合断裂方式,局部存在准解理台阶与河流花样以及穿晶型和沿晶型二次裂纹。  相似文献

Ferrite-bainite-martensite triple phase (TP) microstructures with different volume fractions of martensite were obtained by changing heat treatment time during austempering at 300 °C. Room temperature impact properties of TP steels with different martensite volume fractions (V M) were determined by means of Charpy impact testing. The effects of test temperature on impact properties were also investigated for two selected microstructures containing 0 (the DP steel) and 8.5 vol.% martensite. Test results showed reduction in toughness with increasing V M in TP steels. Fracture toughness values for the DP and TP steels with 8.5 vol.% martensite were obtained from correlation between fracture toughness and the Charpy impact energy. Fractography of Charpy specimens confirmed decrease in TP steels’ toughness with increasing V M by considering and comparing radial marks and crack initiation regions at the fracture surfaces of the studied steels.  相似文献

The microstructure, mechanical property, fracture toughness, and fatigue behavior of 7050 aluminum alloy pre-stretched ultra-thick plate were investigated by means of optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, tensile test, fracture toughness test, and high-cycle fatigue test. The results showed that the microstructure of the ultra-thick plate consisted of recrystallized grains, subgrains, constituent particles, precipitated phases, and precipitate-free zone. Mechanical tests indicated that anisotropy of fracture toughness existed in L-T, T-L, and S-T orientation. Fractographic features suggested that this anisotropy was significant due to the difference of recrystallized grain on different metallographic planes. Compared to 7050 aluminum alloy plate in less thickness, the ultra-thick plate showed deterioration on fracture toughness due to the increase of recrystallized grains but improvement on fatigue property ascribed to the less densely populated particles. Fractographic observations showed that fatigue initiation of this ultra-thick plate was primarily related to the constituent particles and promoted by increase of the stress amplitude.  相似文献
