This article presents a compact Co-Planar Waveguide (CPW) fed antenna for next-generation Vehicular Communications. The antenna is designed by employing two rectangular stacked patch structures and slots, making the antenna resonate at dual frequency bands. The analytical study of antenna design is carried out using the governing microstrip patch equations. On optimizing the patch's dimensions for CPW structures, the desired frequency range of operation is obtained for the single element antenna structure. The designed antenna resonates at 3.5 GHz (LTE-42 Band) and 5.9 GHz (DSRC Band), yielding this antenna to be a prime component for Vehicular to Everything (V2X) Communication. The optimized single-element antenna structure is 35 mm?×?20 mm designed on an FR-4 substrate of thickness 1.6 mm. The substrate has a dielectric constant of 4.4 and a loss tangent value of 0.001. Further, the antenna structure is developed as a 4-element MIMO configuration with the distance between adjacent antenna elements to be 10 mm. The adjacent antennas in the MIMO configuration are positioned orthogonal to each other, thereby exhibiting better isolation between the antenna elements. The antenna has a reflection coefficient value of?<??10 dB within the bandwidth of interest and VSWR less than 2. The Gain value of the designed antenna ranges between 2.8 and 2.9 dBi at 3.5 GHz and between 3.6 and 3.7 dBi at 5.89 GHz. The overall efficiency of the antenna element is between 60 and 80% at both frequency bands. MIMO parameters are analyzed by calculating the Channel Capacity Loss (CL), Diversity Gain (DG), Envelope Correlation Coefficient (ECC) and Total Active Reflection Co-Efficient (TARC). The designed antenna is fabricated and tested, which shows the measured results coincide with the simulated antenna results. The overall dimension of the MIMO configured antenna design is 60 mm × 60 mm × 1.6 mm, which is highly compact and is a suitable candidate for deployment of Vehicle to Vehicle (V2V), Vehicle to Infrastructure (V2I), and Vehicle to Network (V2N) scenarios.

An ultra-wideband slot antenna realised in low-temperature cofired ceramic (LTCC) technology is reported. The antenna is developed for a single-package solution of ultra-wideband radio. The radiating element of the antenna has a shape of ellipse 11 mm wide and 17 mm long. It shares the ground plane with other radio circuitry and is fed through a microstrip line 41 mm long and 3 mm wide. The experimental result shows that the prototype antenna achieved a bandwidth of 7.6 GHz (return loss S11/spl les/-10 dB or VSWR 2:1 from 3 to 10.6 GHz). The antenna radiation patterns at 3.5, 6.85 and 10.1 GHz are also presented.  相似文献

A compact stacked implantable antenna for biotelemetry in medical implant communication services band (MICS band: 402-405 MHz) is proposed. Using a stacked planar inverted-F antenna (PIFA) structure can enhance bandwidth and reduce the effect of frequency shift in human tissue giving complex and highly variable characteristics. The antenna looks like one dime (US currency) and has a 7.5 mm radius, 1.9 mm thickness, operating frequency at 402 MHz and a bandwidth of 50 MHz at return loss of 10 dB. A compact patch antenna suitable for mounting above a conducting plate for WLAN operation in the 2.4 GHz band is presented. It is demonstrated that, by introducing a supporting metal plate connected to the antenna ground below, the proposed antenna in free space can easily be mounted at the corner of a conducting plate of various dimensions without rapidly deteriorating the antenna bandwidth. In this research article, a wideband antipodal Vivaldi antenna (AVA) is presented by incorporating a negative index metamaterial (NIM). The proposed antenna is designed using a linearly tapered shape structure. The overall performance of the designed antenna is improved by employing a negative index metamaterial (NIM). The ‘V’ shaped metamaterial unit cells are designed and placed at the top surface in between two radiators of AVA, to radiate the maximum electric field in the end-fire direction. The designed antenna dimensions are 50 mm × 24 mm × 0.51 mm and it is compact as compared to AVA antennas available in the literature. The maximum gain of the designed antenna is 15.26 dBi at 41.3 GHz. The antenna gain is almost constant and varies in the range of 9.25 ± 1.75 dBi over the operating frequency range of 15 GHz to 40 GHz. The optimized design of an antenna makes it suitable for various micrometer and millimeter wave applications. Also, the measured results matched with the simulated results.

A multiband printed monopole slot antenna promising for operating as an internal antenna in the thin-profile laptop computer for wireless wide area network (WWAN) operation is presented. The proposed antenna is formed by three monopole slots operated at their quarter-wavelength modes and arranged in a compact planar configuration. A step-shaped microstrip feedline is applied to excite the three monopole slots at their respective optimal feeding position, and two wide operating bands at about 900 and 1900 MHz are obtained for the antenna to cover all the five operating bands of GSM850/900/1800/1900/UMTS for WWAN operation. The antenna is easily printed on a small-size FR4 substrate and shows a length of 60 mm only and a height of 12 mm when mounted at the top edge of the system ground plane or supporting metal frame of the laptop display. A folded slot is introduced to expand the impedance bandwidth and miniaturise the size of a coplanar waveguide (CPW)-fed patch monopole antenna for radio frequency identification (RFID) applications. The designed antenna, which, including ground plane, is only 13 mm in height and 11 mm in width, can operate at the 5.8 GHz band with measured impedance bandwidth and average antenna gain of 30% and /spl ges/5 dBi, respectively, and also conical radiation patterns. 针对超宽带通信系统,提出一种小型超宽带天线,可以应用于终端设备。天线类型为共面波导馈电的缝隙型,缝隙结构为一矩形与一圆形组合而成,馈电结构与缝隙结构相似。天线的面积为22 mm×27 mm,印刷在厚度为0. 5 mm的FR4衬底上. 通过软件仿真分析了天线的工作原理以及尺寸对带宽的影响,仿真结果显示天线的带宽在不同的衬底厚度下均能覆盖UWB频段。天线的测试带宽为2.4 GHz~14.4 GHz,在超宽带的工作频段内测试效率超过76% ,测试增益大于2.1 dBi。  相似文献

研制中心频率为18 GHz的振荡型有源集成天线,包括微带天线设计、单片压控振荡器(MMIC VCO)的设计及微带天线与单片压控振荡器二者的集成。微带天线的芯片面积为4.5 mm×3.5 mm,增益为3.67 dB,中心频率为18.032 GHz,最小输入驻波系数为1.098;单片压控振荡器芯片面积1.1 mm×1.0 mm,调谐范围为15.978~18.247 GHz,输出功率大于6 dBm。振荡型有源集成天线的方向图测试结果与微带天线的特性符合,该振荡型有源集成天线能够正常工作。  相似文献

设计了一种单馈点圆极化微带天线。微带贴片采用二次Koch分形边界的贴片结构,通过底馈方法激励起两个相互正交的简并模实现圆极化;采用CSTMicrowaveStudio@软件进行了仿真,其结果表明,在微带贴片的对角线上适当位置用探针馈电,可以实现圆极化辐射。对具有介质损耗的天线进行了仿真,结果与理想介质的差异较大。设计了一个右旋圆极化微带天线,并进行了测试。该天线工作于1.575GHz;VSWR小于2的阻抗带宽为51MHz;轴比为4dB;增益为3.8dB;贴片尺寸为42.4mm×42.4mm,可以用作GPS天线。  相似文献

针对Ka波段被动毫米波成像应用,设计了一种由介质透镜与缝隙天线馈源组成的天线系统.将高斯波束理论与光学透镜中的等光程原理相结合,设计了一种大口径介质透镜,该透镜具有良好的聚焦性能;提出了一种新型的共轭直线渐变缝隙天线作为透镜的馈源,该天线呈现出截面小、增益高的优良性能,可以在焦平面上形成密集的馈源阵列.将所设计的介质透镜与馈源天线进行联合仿真,研究结果表明,该系统在距透镜2.81 m处聚焦焦斑为50 mm,并且在±5°偏焦时聚焦焦斑都小于60 mm.所设计的天线系统具备很好的聚焦性能且具有较大的偏焦工作角度,可以适用于被动毫米波近场成像应用.  相似文献

In this paper, application of a designed antenna for microwave imaging is evaluated. In previous research, application of an UWB antenna for microwave imaging was investigated. To the best of the author’s knowledge, the designed antenna was the smallest UWB antenna designed at the time of publication, for breast cancer detection. The smaller size antennas can cause more clutter in the image while, on the other hand, make it possible to use more antennas in the array at the same surface. Therefore, the smaller size of the antenna makes microwave imaging more challenging. Simulation results showed successful detection of 10 mm and 5 mm tumors by 16 UWB antennas with the hemispherical arrangement. For signal processing, the Delay-Multiply-and-Sum Algorithm is used for image reconstruction. In this paper results of two experimental microwave imaging is presented. Two tumors at different locations are placed and microwave imaging is performed. The experimental proves that the designed antenna in an array of 16 antennas is capable of detecting the 5 mm tumor in different location.

提出了一种适用于射频识别手持读写器的双频单层微带天线新颖设计,适用于超高频频段(920~925MHz)和ISM频段(2.4 ~2.5GHz)的射频识别系统.切四角和中心方形结合缝隙结构,实现了天线的小型化设计,满足了天线设计要求,选用廉价FR4板材尺寸为75mm×75mm×3mm.给出了天线设计思路,并利用电磁仿真软件分析了天线性能,仿真与测试结果吻合良好.天线测试结果表明:在917.1 ~936.5MHz频带范围内回波损耗小于15dB,在2.43~2.47GHz频段内小于-15dB;在UHF频段与ISM频段内,读写器天线的最大增益为0.02dBi和1.66dBi,所以本天线能满足我国射频识别读写器的应用要求,具有良好的应用前景.  相似文献
