Effect of Binder on the Reduction of Pellet Containing Coal Char

Abstract：It was tested that water glass is an ideal binder to the pellet containing coal char. The effect of binder (water glass) on the reduction of pellet containing coal char in a nitrogen atmosphere and at the temperature between 900—1 200 ℃ was investigated. The kinetic analysis of experimental data indicates that water glass can promote the reduction of the pellet (the reduction should be controlled by the gas diffusion); The addition of water glass can′t change the reduction controlling-step but can decrease the resistance of this step.
