A negative tap photonic microwave filter based on a Mach-Zehnder modulator (MZM) and a tunable optical polarizer is proposed. In the proposed filter, the output light from the MZM, after experiencing a time delay difference between the two orthogonal modes in a polarization-maintaining fiber, is sent to the tunable optical polarizer. By adjusting the dc bias of the MZM and the polarization angle of the tunable polarizer with respect to the two orthogonal modes, two positive or one positive and one negative coefficient are generated. A theoretical analysis is presented which is verified by experiments. A two-tap microwave filter with two positive or one positive and one negative coefficient is demonstrated.  相似文献

A continuously tunable photonic microwave bandpass filter with positive and negative coefficients implemented using an optical phase modulator and chirped fiber Bragg gratings (FBGs) is proposed and experimentally demonstrated. The positive and negative coefficients are generated through optical phase-modulation to intensity-modulation conversion by reflecting the phase-modulated optical carrier from linearly chirped FBGs (LCFBGs) with positive and negative dispersions. The tunability of the filter is realized by changing the wavelength of the optical carrier such that it is reflected at different physical locations in the LCFBGs. A two-tap microwave bandpass filter with a free spectral range tunable from 1.14 to 4.55 GHz is experimentally demonstrated.  相似文献

A novel multitap photonic microwave filter with arbitrary positive and negative coefficients implemented using an electrooptic polarization modulator (PolM) and an optical polarizer is proposed and experimentally demonstrated. In the proposed filter, the optical polarizer is connected at the output of the PolM with its transmission axis aligned at an angle of 45 to one principal axis of the PolM. By adjusting the polarization direction of the input lightwave to be 45 or 135 to one principal axis of the PolM, an inverted or noninverted intensity-modulated optical microwave signal is obtained at the output of the optical polarizer, which leads to the generation of a negative or positive coefficient. A time delay difference between adjacent taps is generated by using a wavelength-dependent delay line. A five-tap photonic microwave filter with arbitrary positive and negative coefficients is demonstrated. The reconfigurability of the filter is also investigated.  相似文献

The impact of Mach-Zehnder modulator (MZM) chirp on single sideband (SSB) and carrier suppressed double sideband (CS-DSB) modulation radio over fiber (RoF) links are investigated and simulated. Finite extinction ratio and drive signal unbalanced ratio of non-ideal MZM are considered, power variation of target microwave signal and harmonic suppression are calculated and evaluated. Our results suggest that unbalanced ratio could be optimized to minimized the power variation owing to the finite extinction ratio and improve the harmonic suppress ratio in the two kinds of RoF links. However, harmonic suppression ratio declined rapidly with the decrease of extinction ratio in the CS-DSB RoF link. For a non-ideal modulator with low extinction ratio, high quality microwave signal could be obtained in the SSB RoF link while an additional filter is required to suppress the unwanted harmonic components in the CS-DSB RoF link.  相似文献

为了适应新型通信技术发展,该文提出了一种高形状因子、可编程的微波光子滤波器集成芯片。该滤波器芯片采用绝缘体上硅材料(SOI),利用有限冲击响应原理,通过调节各支路上的热光调制器,可以实现带宽可调、形状因子大于0.55的滤波曲线,以及中心频率可调、带宽可调和滤波形状可变3种不同滤波功能。该滤波器尺寸小、重量轻、灵活性高,能适用于大带宽信号处理,并能提供一种理想的信道划分方式,可广泛应用于国防领域和5G网络中。  相似文献

高速光信号源在现代光通信中不可或缺,目前倍受研究者关注。提出了利用一种具有偏置控制的马赫-曾德尔调制器(MZM),采用倍频方案产生高速微波光子信号,并进行了实验研究。通过在MZM 上施加一定的直流偏置引起两臂光脉冲的相位差,使光脉冲发生分裂实现倍频。实验中,利用5 GHz 的射频信号源,成功获得了频率增加一倍的10 GHz 高质量高速光信号。同时,也可以观察到在不同偏置电压下会产生不同的脉冲序列,发现优化偏压是实现高质量倍频的必要条件。该方案可用于产生40 GHz 以上的高频率光脉冲,可广泛应用于高速光通信。  相似文献

We propose and demonstrate a novel technique to perform matched filtering of a phase-coded microwave signal using a photonic microwave delay-line filter. The photonic microwave delay-line filter is designed to have a frequency response that is conjugate to the spectrum of the phase-coded microwave signal. To implement the delay-line filter, the tap coefficients are usually complex, which is difficult to implement in the optical domain. In this letter, a photonic microwave delay-line filter with equivalent complex coefficients implemented using an all-positive- coefficient photonic microwave delay-line filter based on a nonuniformly spaced delay-line structure is proposed. Since only positive coefficients are required, the implementation of the filter is greatly simplified. An experiment is performed. The decoding of a 6.75-GHz binary-phase-coded microwave signal is experimentally demonstrated.   相似文献

针对负系数微波光子滤波器很难用正系数的光学抽头来实现,提出了一款基于色散器件级联的可调谐、窄带宽、负系数微波光子滤波器。利用整形后的多波长光纤激光器的输出信号作为滤波器的抽头光源,将单模光纤与F-P光纤环级联作为延迟单元,实现滤波器的频率选择性。利用相位调制器和级联的色散器件共同作用,实现负系数的微波光子滤波器。实验得到了波长间隔为0.34 nm的多达37个激光信号的稳定输出,进而基于此实验结果仿真研究了F-P光纤环中C2、C3的耦合系数r、不同长度的可调谐光纤延迟线(TODL)和延迟单元中不同长度的单模光纤等参数对微波光子滤波器性能的影响。  相似文献

提出了一个新的基于布里渊散射效应的微波光子滤波器。该滤波器可通过调谐系统中光滤波器的中心波长,实现高解析度带通滤波器与陷波滤波器之间的灵活切换,并且通过调谐产生受激布里渊散射的泵浦光的波长可实现滤波器通带或阻带的中心频率在很大频率范围内连续调谐。该滤波器为全光结构,因此具有非常大的调谐范围(调谐上限仅受限于试验中使用的矢量网络分析仪的显示频率上限)。系统中采用相位调制器,因此没有偏置电压漂移问题。实验结果展示了一个带通与陷波滤可灵活切换的高解析度微波光子滤波器,并且通带和阻带的中心频率在9~26.5 GHz范围内连续可调谐,其中带通滤波器的通带具有极窄3 dB带宽,约28 MHz(由光纤本身布里渊增益区线宽所决定)。  相似文献

We propose a novel configuration to implement microwave photonic filters featuring positive and negative coefficients which is based on the use of a single phase modulator to modulate an array of optical sources followed by a filtering stage to choose the optical carrier and higher or lower radio-frequency sideband depending on the sign of the desired coefficient. Experimental results are presented which prove the feasibility of this concept for a two tap notch filter. Filter tunability is also demonstrated.  相似文献

Microwave photonics is a prominent field in which photonic technologies are used to empower and extend the functionalities of microwave system which is a very tough exercise to fulfil directly in microwave domain. A photonic technique to generate a high chirp rate arbitrary microwave waveform using dual-drive LiNbO3 has been put forward and demonstrated experimentally in this paper. Nowadays in order to increase the Range-Doppler resolution of radar, the chirp microwave waveform is widely used. The Mach-Zehnder modulator (MZM) performs the intensity modulation techniques which can operate on the principle of electro-optic effect. In this paper, the authors used a very simple and straightforward method of producing chirped arbitrary millimetre waveform by change in phase at the two arms of dual-drive LiNbO3 MZM. The generated waveform has the 3 dB bandwidth of 12.6 GHz which exists in extremely high-frequency band applicable in high-frequency microwave radio relay, microwave remote sensing, radar range resolution and millimetre wave scanner. The proposed design is simpler, cost-effective and compact than the previously proposed model of chirped waveform generation using MZM and fibre Bragg grating.  相似文献

当前分立光子器件的体积和成本严重制约着微波光子技术在雷达系统中的应用。受限于当前的集成能力和材料体系,微波光子单片集成芯片短时间内难以实现工程应用。为满足雷达等应用场景对高集成微波光子器件的迫切需要,研制了一种新型小型化高集成光收发组件。该组件采用光电异构集成封装技术,将MZM调制器芯片、微波芯片、探测器芯片以及光环形器、波分复用器进行高度集成,单模块体积仅为85 mm×35 mm×10 mm,与传统MZM调制器体积相当。实验结果表明,其性能可与传统分立元器件相媲美。在6~18 GHz范围内,组件能够实现±1.5 dB的平坦度,上行能够实现18 dB以上的增益,下行能够实现?1 dB以上的增益,且链路噪声系数小于30 dB,平面化、小型化设计使其能够应用于相控阵雷达、电子战等多种应用场景,具有广阔的应用前景。  相似文献

A novel photonic microwave bandpass filter with negative coefficients implemented using a polarization modulator (PolM) is proposed and experimentally demonstrated. In the proposed filter, a lightwave from a tunable laser source (TLS) is sent to a PolM, with the incident lightwave adjusted to have its polarization direction aligned at an angle of plusmn45deg to the principal axes of the PolM. A microwave signal is applied to the PolM through its RF port. Thanks to the polarization modulation in the PolM, two complementary microwave signals with identical amplitudes carried by two optical carriers with orthogonal polarizations are generated. The two complementary optical microwave signals are then sent to an optical delay line consisting of one section or two sections of polarization-maintaining fiber (PMF), with the polarization directions aligned with the fast and slow axes of the PMF. An approach is proposed and demonstrated to improve the measurement range and resolution of a microwave frequency measurement system. Two optical wavelengths are modulated by a microwave signal in a Mach-Zehnder modulator (MZM). The optical output from the MZM is sent to a dispersive element to introduce different chromatic dispersions, leading to different microwave power penalties. A fixed relationship between the microwave power ratio and the microwave frequency is established. The microwave frequency is estimated by measuring the microwave powers. A new measurement range is defined with an improved measurement range and resolution. Analysis is performed and confirmed by an experiment.  相似文献

New structures that can realize bias drift-free dual-input and dual-output intensity modulators, and which can generate negative coefficients in photonic signal processors, are presented. They are based on a Sagnac loop comprising a travelling-wave optical phase modulator, together with a routing structure that gives outputs with opposite radio-frequency phases. Results using the dual-input mode of operation demonstrate a new technique for generating negative coefficients in an all-optical microwave photonic filter.  相似文献

We propose an optical approach to generating chirped microwave pulses using a photonic microwave delay-line filter (PMDLF) with a quadratic phase response. If a chirp-free broadband microwave pulse is inputted into the filter, a chirped microwave pulse is generated thanks to the quadratic phase response of the filter. To design a PMDLF with a quadratic phase response, complex tap coefficients are required, which is hard to implement in the optical domain. In this letter, a PMDLF with equivalent complex coefficients implemented based on a nonuniformly spaced delay-line structure is demonstrated. Since only positive coefficients are required, the filter is easy to implement. A design example is provided. A five-tap PMDLF to generate a chirped microwave pulse with a chirp rate of 13.2 GHz/ns is then experimentally demonstrated.  相似文献

A novel photonic technique for instantaneous microwave frequency measurement based on hybrid microwave photonic filter (HMPF) is proposed and experimentally demonstrated. The HMPF is composed of an all-pass filter and a band-pass filter with negative coefficients. By properly controlling the power relationship between the all-pass filter and the band-pass filter, the HMPF can realize a monotonic frequency response, and then a unique relationship be- tween the output power and the input frequency is established. A novel tunable photonic microwave notch filter with negative and positive coefficients is proposed and experimentally demonstrated. The coefficients can be achieved by polarization modulation along with an electrical signal. The two polarization-modulated signals, which have a relative time delay, are combined, and detected by a photodetector. The transfer response of the filter shows a very stable operation irrespective of the coherence length of the source used. Moreover, the free spectral range of the filter, which shows a sharp notch, can be changed by using a tunable differential group delay generator over the range of 3.16-4.31 GHz  相似文献
