Despite their high theoretical specific capacity (1675 mA h g?1), the practical application of Li–S batteries remains limited because the capacity rapidly degrades through severe dissolution of lithium polysulfide and the rate capability is low because of the low electronic conductivity of sulfur. This paper describes novel hierarchical yolk–shell microspheres comprising 1D bamboo‐like N‐doped carbon nanotubes (CNTs) encapsulating Co nanoparticles (Co@BNCNTs YS microspheres) as efficient cathode hosts for Li–S batteries. The microspheres are produced via a two‐step process that involves generation of the microsphere followed by N‐doped CNTs growth. The hierarchical yolk–shell structure enables efficient sulfur loading and mitigates the dissolution of lithium polysulfides, and metallic Co and N doping improves the chemical affinity of the microspheres with sulfur species. Accordingly, a Co@BNCNTs YS microsphere‐based cathode containing 64 wt% sulfur exhibits a high discharge capacity of 700.2 mA h g?1 after 400 cycles at a current density of 1 C (based on the mass of sulfur); this corresponds to a good capacity retention of 76% and capacity fading rate of 0.06% per cycle with an excellent rate performance (752 mA h g?1 at 2.0 C) when applied as cathode hosts for Li–S batteries.  相似文献

Thermal treatment of metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) as a post‐treatment approach has grown in popularity and resulted in various MOF‐derived materials. However, the widely used extreme thermolytic conditions (usually above 500 °C) lead to degradation in the well‐defined MOFs intrinsic properties. This work demonstrates that MIL‐101 calcined at medium‐temperature range (200–280 °C) partially breaks the coordination bonds that can introduce more accessible active sites, exhibiting a 10‐fold increase in oxidation activity while retaining its intrinsic structure and porosity. Another fascinating feature of MIL‐101 calcined in this temperature range is their temperature‐dependent shrinkage behavior, which is also found in many other types of MOFs. Based on different shrinkage ratios of various MOFs, yolk–shell MOFs@MOFs structures can be constructed through nonsacrificial template method. Overall, the structural and morphological evolution process of MOFs treated in the medium‐temperature range can open new horizons to develop efficient MOFs catalysts and design complex structures.  相似文献

Metal doped core–shell Metal‐Organic Frameworks@Covalent Organic Frameworks (MOFs@COFs) are presented as a novel platform for photocatalysis. A palladium (Pd) doped MOFs@COFs in the form of Pd/TiATA@LZU1 shows excellent photocatalytic performance for tandem dehydrogenation and hydrogenation reactions in a continuous‐flow microreactor and a batch system, indicating the great potential of the metal doped MOFs@COFs as a multifunctional platform for photocatalysis. Explanations for the performance enhancement are elucidated. An integrated dual‐chamber microreactor coupled with the metal doped MOFs@COFs is introduced to demonstrate a concept of an intensified green photochemical process, which can be broadly extended to challenging liquid–gas tandem and cascade reactions.  相似文献

Maintaining structural stability and alleviating the intrinsic poor conductivity of conversion‐type reaction anode materials are of great importance for practical application. Introducing void space and a highly conductive host to accommodate the volume changes and enhance the conductivity would be a smart design to achieve robust construction; effective electron and ion transportation, thus, lead to prolonged cycling life and excellent rate performance. Herein, uniform yolk–shell FeP@C nanoboxes (FeP@CNBs) with the inner FeP nanoparticles completely protected by a thin and self‐supported carbon shell are synthesized through a phosphidation process with yolk–shell Fe2O3@CNBs as a precursor. The volumetric variation of the inner FeP nanoparticles during cycling is alleviated, and the FeP nanoparticles can expand without deforming the carbon shell, thanks to the internal void space of the unique yolk–shell structure, thus preserving the electrode microstructure. Furthermore, the presence of the highly conductive carbon shell enhances the conductivity of the whole electrode. Benefiting from the unique design of the yolk–shell structure, the FeP@CNBs manifests remarkable lithium/potassium storage performance.  相似文献

A yolk–shell Sn@C nanobox composite with controllable structures has been synthesized using a facile approach. The void space is engineered to fit the volume expansion of Sn during cycling. It is demonstrated that the shell thickness of carbon nanobox has substantial influence on both nanostructures and the electrochemical performance. With an optimized shell thickness, a high reversible capacity of 810 mA h g?1 can be maintained after 500 cycles, corresponding to 90% retention of the second discharge capacity. For Sn@C materials with either thinner or thicker carbon shells, significant capacity decay or a decreased specific capacity are observed during cycling. The present study sheds light on the rational design of nanostructured electrode materials with enhanced electrochemical performance for next‐generation lithium ion batteries.  相似文献

The synthesis (by a facile two‐step sol–gel process), characterization, and application in controlled drug release is reported for monodisperse core–shell‐structured Fe3O4@nSiO2@mSiO2@NaYF4: Yb3+, Er3+/Tm3+ nanocomposites with mesoporous, up‐conversion luminescent, and magnetic properties. The nanocomposites show typical ordered mesoporous characteristics and a monodisperse spherical morphology with narrow size distribution (around 80 nm). In addition, they exhibit high magnetization (38.0 emu g?1, thus it is possible for drug targeting under a foreign magnetic field) and unique up‐conversion emission (green for Yb3+/Er3+ and blue for Yb3+/Tm3+) under 980 nm laser excitation even after loading with drug molecules. Drug release tests suggest that the multifunctional nanocomposites have a controlled drug release property. Interestingly, the up‐conversion emission intensity of the multifunctional carrier increases with the released amount of model drug, thus allowing the release process to be monitored and tracked by the change of photoluminescence intensity. This composite can act as a multifunctional drug carrier system, which can realize the targeting and monitoring of drugs simultaneously.  相似文献

Noninvasive near‐infrared (NIR) light responsive therapy is a promising cancer treatment modality; however, some inherent drawbacks of conventional phototherapy heavily restrict its application in clinic. Rather than producing heat or reactive oxygen species in conventional NIR treatment, here a multifunctional yolk–shell nanoplatform is proposed that is able to generate microbubbles to destruct cancer cells upon NIR laser irradiation. Besides, the therapeutic effect is highly improved through the coalition of small interfering RNA (siRNA), which is codelivered by the nanoplatform. In vitro experiments demonstrate that siRNA significantly inhibits expression of protective proteins and reduces the tolerance of cancer cells to bubble‐induced environmental damage. In this way, higher cytotoxicity is achieved by utilizing the yolk–shell nanoparticles than treated with the same nanoparticles missing siRNA under NIR laser irradiation. After surface modification with polyethylene glycol and transferrin, the yolk–shell nanoparticles can target tumors selectively, as demonstrated from the photoacoustic and ultrasonic imaging in vivo. The yolk–shell nanoplatform shows outstanding tumor regression with minimal side effects under NIR laser irradiation. Therefore, the multifunctional nanoparticles that combining bubble‐induced mechanical effect with RNA interference are expected to be an effective NIR light responsive oncotherapy.  相似文献

This contribution describes the preparation of multifunctional yolk–shell nanoparticles (YSNs) consisting of a core of silica spheres and an outer shell based on periodic mesoporous organosilica (PMO) with perpendicularly aligned mesoporous channels. The new yolk–shell hybrid materials were synthesised through a dual mesophase and vesicle soft templating method. The mesostructure of the shell, the dimension of the hollow space (4~52 nm), and the shell thickness (16~34 nm) could be adjusted by precise tuning of the synthesis parameters, as evidenced by X‐ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and nitrogen sorption investigations. Various metal nanoparticles (e.g., Au, Pt, and Pd) were encapsulated and confined in the void space between the core and the shell using impregnation and reduction of adequate metal precursors. The selective oxidation of various alcohol substrates was then carried out to illustrate the benefits of such an architecture in catalysis. High conversion (~100%) and excellent selectivity (~99%) were obtained over Pd nanoparticles encapsulated in the hybrid PMO yolk–shell structures.  相似文献

A sensor with a red‐emission signal is successfully obtained by the solvothermal reaction of Eu3+ and heterofunctional ligand bpydbH2 (4,4′‐(4,4′‐bipyridine‐2,6‐diyl) dibenzoic acid), followed by terminal‐ligand exchange in a single‐crystal‐to‐single‐crystal transformation. As a result of treatments both before and after the metal–organic framework formation, accessible Lewis‐base sites and coordinated water molecules are successfully anchored onto the host material, and they act as signal transmission media for the recognition of analytes at the molecular level. This is the first reported sensor based on a metal–organic framework (MOF) with multi‐responsive optical sensing properties. It is capable of sensing small organic molecules and inorganic ions, and unprecedentedly it can discriminate among the homologues and isomers of aliphatic alcohols as well as detect highly explosive 2,4,6‐trinitrophenol (TNP) in water or in the vapor phase. This work highlights the practical application of luminescent MOFs as sensors, and it paves the way toward other multi‐responsive sensors by demonstrating the incorporation of various functional groups into a single framework.  相似文献

3D printing is recognized as a powerful tool to develop complex geometries for a variety of materials including nanocellulose. Herein, a one‐pot synthesis of 3D printable hydrogel ink containing zeolitic imidazolate frameworks (ZIF‐8) anchored on anionic 2,2,6,6‐tetramethylpiperidine‐1‐oxylradical‐mediated oxidized cellulose nanofibers (TOCNF) is presented. The synthesis approach of ZIF‐8@TOCNF (CelloZIF8) hybrid inks is simple, fast (≈30 min), environmentally friendly, takes place at room temperature, and allows easy encapsulation of guest molecules such as curcumin. Shear thinning properties of the hybrid hydrogel inks facilitate the 3D printing of porous scaffolds with excellent shape fidelity. The scaffolds show pH controlled curcumin release. The synthesis route offers a general approach for metal–organic frameworks (MOF) processing and is successfully applied to other types of MOFs such as MIL‐100 (Fe) and other guest molecules as methylene blue. This study may open new venues for MOFs processing and its large‐scale applications.  相似文献

A fluorous metal–organic framework [Cu(FBTB)(DMF)] (FMOF‐3) [H2FBTB = 1,4‐bis(1‐H‐tetrazol‐5‐yl)tetrafluorobenzene] and fluorous nonporous coordination polymer [Ag2(FBTB)] (FN‐PCP‐1) are synthesized and characterized as for their structural, thermal, and textural properties. Together with the corresponding nonfluorinated analogues lc‐[Cu(BTB)(DMF)] and [Ag2(BTB)], and two known (super)hydrophobic MOFs, FMOF‐1 and ZIF‐8, they have been investigated as low‐dielectric constant (low‐κ) materials under dry and humid conditions. The results show that substitution of hydrogen with fluorine or fluoroalkyl groups on the organic linker imparts higher hydrophobicity and lower polarizability to the overall material. Pellets of FMOF‐1, FMOF‐3, and FN‐PCP‐1 exhibit κ values of 1.63(1), 2.44(3), and 2.57(3) at 2 × 106 Hz, respectively, under ambient conditions, versus 2.94(8) and 3.79(1) for lc‐[Cu(BTB)(DMF)] and [Ag2(BTB)], respectively. Such low‐κ values persist even upon exposure to almost saturated humidity levels. Correcting for the experimental pellet density, the intrinsic κ for FMOF‐1 reaches the remarkably low value of 1.28, the lowest value known to date for a hydrophobic material.  相似文献

As an anode material for lithium‐ion batteries, titanium dioxide (TiO2) shows good gravimetric performance (336 mAh g?1 for LiTiO2) and excellent cyclability. To address the poor rate behavior, slow lithium‐ion (Li+) diffusion, and high irreversible capacity decay, TiO2 nanomaterials with tuned phase compositions and morphologies are being investigated. Here, a promising material is prepared that comprises a mesoporous “yolk–shell” spherical morphology in which the core is anatase TiO2 and the shell is TiO2(B). The preparation employs a NaCl‐assisted solvothermal process and the electrochemical results indicate that the mesoporous yolk–shell microspheres have high specific reversible capacity at moderate current (330.0 mAh g?1 at C/5), excellent rate performance (181.8 mAh g?1 at 40C), and impressive cyclability (98% capacity retention after 500 cycles). The superior properties are attributed to the TiO2(B) nanosheet shell, which provides additional active area to stabilize the pseudocapacity. In addition, the open mesoporous morphology improves diffusion of electrolyte throughout the electrode, thereby contributing directly to greatly improved rate capacity.  相似文献

Here, Au@AgAu yolk–shell nanorods (YSNRs) with tunable plasmonic circular dichroism (PCD) responses are synthesized, for the first time, using chiral d ‐ or l ‐penicillamine. The concentration of chiral molecules and the nanogap size play key roles in the PCD signal of the YSNRs. Importantly, the PCD response could be regulated by changing the aspect ratio of gold nanorods, and the largest anisotropy factor (g‐factor) is 0.009. Remarkably, the YSNRs are used as new chiroptical building blocks together with Au nanoparticles (NPs) to build YSNR@NP core–satellite (CS) assemblies, which display much stronger PCD intensity and an increased g‐factor of 0.021. The theoretical calculation data demonstrate that the significant PCD activity of nanoassemblies is originated from chiral structures and the intrinsic chirality of the building blocks. Noticeably, the developed CS superstructures with photothermal effects are utilized to quantitatively detect zinc ion in living cell lines. This study reports an emerging class of chiral inorganic nanostructures with important future applications, including enantioselective separation, asymmetric catalysis, and biomedical sensing.  相似文献

Metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) and MOF‐derived nanostructures are recently emerging as promising catalysts for electrocatalysis applications. Herein, 2D MOFs nanosheets decorated with Fe‐MOF nanoparticles are synthesized and evaluated as the catalysts for water oxidation catalysis in alkaline medium. A dramatic enhancement of the catalytic activity is demonstrated by introduction of electrochemically inert Fe‐MOF nanoparticles onto active 2D MOFs nanosheets. In the case of active Ni‐MOF nanosheets (Ni‐MOF@Fe‐MOF), the overpotential is 265 mV to reach a current density of 10 mA cm?2 in 1 m KOH, which is lowered by ≈100 mV after hybridization due to the 2D nanosheet morphology and the synergistic effect between Ni active centers and Fe species. Similar performance improvement is also successfully demonstrated in the active NiCo‐MOF nanosheets. More importantly, the real catalytic active species in the hybrid Ni‐MOF@Fe‐MOF catalyst are unraveled. It is found that, NiO nanograins (≈5 nm) are formed in situ during oxygen evolution reaction (OER) process and act as OER active centers as well as building blocks of the porous nanosheet catalysts. These findings provide new insights into understanding MOF‐based catalysts for water oxidation catalysis, and also shed light on designing highly efficient MOF‐derived nanostructures for electrocatalysis.  相似文献

The application of conventional metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) as electrode materials in supercapacitors is largely hindered by their conventionally poor electrical conductivity. This study reports the fabrication of conductive MOF nanowire arrays (NWAs) and the application of them as the sole electrode material for solid‐state supercapacitors. By taking advantage of the nanostructure and making full use of the high porosity and excellent conductivity, the MOF NWAs in solid‐state supercapacitor show the highest areal capacitance and best rate performance of all reported MOF materials for supercapacitors, which is even comparable to most carbon materials.  相似文献

High‐capacity lithium‐ion battery anode materials, such as transition metal oxides, Sn and Si, suffer from large volume expansion during lithiation, which causes capacity decay. Introducing sufficient void space to accommodate the volume change is essential to achieve prolonged cycling stability. However, excessive void space may significantly compromise the volumetric energy density. Herein, a method to control the void size in iron oxide@carbon (FeOx@C) yolk–shell structures is developed and the relationship between the void space and electrochemical performance is demonstrated. With an optimized void size, the FeOx@C yolk–shell structure exhibits the best cycling performance. A high reversible capacity of ≈810 mA h g?1 is obtained at 0.2 C, maintaining 790 mA h g?1 after 100 cycles. This contrasts with FeOx@C materials having either smaller or larger void sizes, in which significant capacity fading is observed during cycling. This contribution provides an effective approach to alleviate the volume expansion problem, which can be generally applied to other anode materials to improve their performance in LIBs.  相似文献
