Mixed cation hybrid perovskites such as CsxFA1?xPbI3 are promising materials for solar cell applications, due to their excellent photoelectronic properties and improved stability. Although power conversion efficiencies (PCEs) as high as 18.16% have been reported, devices are mostly processed by the anti‐solvent method, which is difficult for further scaling‐up. Here, a method to fabricate CsxFA1?xPbI3 by performing Cs cation exchange on hybrid chemical vapor deposition grown FAPbI3 with the Cs+ ratio adjustable from 0 to 24% is reported. The champion perovskite module based on Cs0.07FA0.93PbI3 with an active area of 12.0 cm2 shows a module PCE of 14.6% and PCE loss/area of 0.17% cm?2, demonstrating the significant advantage of this method toward scaling‐up. This in‐depth study shows that when the perovskite films prepared by this method contain 6.6% Cs+ in bulk and 15.0% at the surface, that is, Cs0.07FA0.93PbI3, solar cell devices show not only significantly increased PCEs but also substantially improved stability, due to favorable energy level alignment with TiO2 electron transport layer and spiro‐MeOTAD hole transport layer, increased grain size, and improved perovskite phase stability.  相似文献

Recently formamidinium (FA) based perovskite solar cell was demonstrated to show high performance and better stability upon partial substitution of FA with Cs cation. However, the fabrication of device required high-temperature processing on TiO2 electrode and thus limits the use of flexible polymeric substrates. Here, we present a low temperature approach for the fabrication of p-i-n perovskite solar cells based on Cs0.15FA0.85PbI3. Furthermore, we investigated the effects of chlorine on the morphology and crystallinity of the perovskite films and the corresponding photovoltaic performance. Chlorine incorporation can significantly enlarge the size of grains and improve the crystallinity of perovskite films with full surface coverage. A best power conversion efficiency of 14.5% was realized for planar perovskite solar cells with negligible hysteresis and remarkable reproducibility.  相似文献

Wide-bandgap perovskite is a vital part of perovskite-based tandem solar cells. Currently, wide-bandgap perovskites are typically based on mixed-halide (I/Br) materials, but suffer from photoinduced phase separation. The pure-iodide formamidine/cesium (FA/Cs) based FAxCs1−xPbI3 perovskites with high Cs content are good candidates, whereas the control of crystallization is challenging due to the complex crystallization kinetics. Here, pure-iodide FA0.5Cs0.5PbI3 wide-bandgap perovskite solar cells is reported. As an acidic diammonium salt, methylenediaminium dichloride (MDACl2) is applied as an additive to control the whole crystallization process of perovskite films, including both nucleation and crystal growth. Starting from the solution chemistry, the MDACl2 additive with acidity and strong solvation properties can effectively regulate the chemical composition of perovskite precursor, thus inhibiting the growth of undesired 1D intermediates during the nucleation process. Besides, the incorporation of larger-sized MDA2+ into the lattice compensates for the tolerance factor and accelerates the ion exchange reaction between FA+ and Cs+ in the crystal growth process. As a result, the crystallinity of the perovskite films is significantly improved, benefitting from the dual function of MDACl2. Finally, the efficiency of hole transport layer-free carbon electrode-based wide-bandgap perovskite solar cells reaches 18.52%, which is the highest reported so far.  相似文献

The two‐step conversion process consisting of metal halide deposition followed by conversion to hybrid perovskite has been successfully applied toward producing high‐quality solar cells of the archetypal MAPbI3 hybrid perovskite, but the conversion of other halide perovskites, such as the lower bandgap FAPbI3, is more challenging and tends to be hampered by the formation of hexagonal nonperovskite polymorph of FAPbI3, requiring Cs addition and/or extensive thermal annealing. Here, an efficient room‐temperature conversion route of PbI2 into the α‐FAPbI3 perovskite phase without the use of cesium is demonstrated. Using in situ grazing incidence wide‐angle X‐ray scattering (GIWAXS) and quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D), the conversion behaviors of the PbI2 precursor from its different states are compared. α‐FAPbI3 forms spontaneously and efficiently at room temperature from P2 (ordered solvated polymorphs with DMF) without hexagonal phase formation and leads to complete conversion after thermal annealing. The average power conversion efficiency (PCE) of the fabricated solar cells is greatly improved from 16.0(±0.32)% (conversion from annealed PbI2) to 17.23(±0.28)% (from solvated PbI2) with a champion device PCE > 18% due to reduction of carrier recombination rate. This work provides new design rules toward the room‐temperature phase transformation and processing of hybrid perovskite films based on FA+ cation without the need for Cs+ or mixed halide formulation.  相似文献

Introducing extensively excess ammonium halides when forming perovskites has recently been demonstrated as an effective approach to improve the performance of perovskite light‐emitting diodes (PeLEDs). Here, Cs0.17FA0.83PbI2.5Br0.5 is used as a model system to elucidate the impact of introducing excess formamidinium iodide (FAI) on the crystallization process of the perovskite film and operation of the corresponding PeLED. The excess FAI ratio is varied from 0 to 120 mol% and the crystallization process of the perovskite through in situ absorbance, in situ photoluminescence, and ex situ X‐ray diffraction measurements is systematically monitored. The results suggest that excess FAI triggers formation of a compact wide‐bandgap intermediate phase in the as‐deposited film, which then transforms to isolated and highly crystalline perovskite grains upon annealing. Using excitation correlation photoluminescence spectroscopy it is found that excess FAI results in a lower density of deep trap states and therefore a reduction of nonradiative losses in the material. This leads to a greatly enhanced maximum external quantum efficiency (EQE) from 0.25% (stoichiometric) to 12.7% (90 mol% excess). Furthermore, the FAI‐excess perovskite film is optimized with Pb(SCN)2 and 5‐ammonium valeric acid iodide additives and achieve a record radiance of 965 W Sr?1 m?2 for near‐infrared PeLEDs and a high EQE of 17.4%.  相似文献

The optoelectronic properties, morphology, and consequently the performance of metal halide perovskite solar cells are directly related to the crystalline phases and intermediates formed during film preparation. The gas quenching method is compatible with large-area deposition, but an understanding of how this method influences these properties and performance is scarce in the literature. Here, in situ grazing incidence wide angle X-ray scattering is employed during spin coating deposition to gain insights on the formation of MAPbI3 and CsxFA1−xPb(I0.83Br0.17)3 perovskites, comparing the use of dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) and 2-methyl-n-pyrrolidone (NMP) as coordinative solvents. Intermediates formed using DMSO depend on the perovskite composition (e.g., Cs content), while for NMP the same intermediate [PbI2(NMP)] is formed independently on the composition. For MAPbI3 and CsxFA1−xPb(I0.83Br0.17)3 with a small amount of Cs (10% and 20%), the best efficiencies are achieved using NMP, while the use of DMSO is preferred for higher (30% and 40%) amount of Cs. The inhibition of the 2H/4H hexagonal phase when using NMP is crucial for the final performance. These findings provide a deep understanding about the formation mechanism in multication perovskites and assist the community to choose the best solvent for the desired perovskite composition aiming to perovskite-on-silicon tandem solar cells.  相似文献

Current–voltage hysteresis of perovskite solar cells (PSCs) has raised the concern of accurate performance measurement in practice. Although various theories have been proposed to elucidate this phenomenon, the origin of hysteresis is still an open question. Herein, the use of guanidinium cation (Gu+)‐dopant is demonstrated to tailor the crystal structure of mixed‐cation formamidinium‐cesium lead triiodide (FA0.83Cs0.17PbI3) perovskite, resulting in an improved energy conversion efficiency and tunable current–voltage hysteresis characteristic in planar solar cells. Particularly, when the concentration of Gu‐dopant for the perovskite film increases, the normal hysteresis initially observed in the pristine PSC is first suppressed with 2%‐Gu‐dopant, then changed to inverted hysteresis with a higher Gu‐dopant. The hysteresis tunability behavior is attributed to the interplay of charge/ion accumulation and recombination at interfaces in the PSC. Furthermore, compared to the cell without Gu+‐dopant, the optimal content of 2% Gu+‐dopant also increases the device efficiency by 14%, reaching over 17% under one sun illumination.  相似文献

Cs/FA/MA triple cation perovskite films have been well developed in the antisolvent dripping method, attributable to its outstanding photovoltaic and stability performances. However, a facile and effective strategy is still lacking for fabricating high‐quality large‐grain triple cation perovskite films via sequential deposition method a, which is one of the key technologies for high efficiency perovskite solar cells. To address this issue, a δ‐CsPbI3 intermediate phase growth (CsPbI3‐IPG) assisted sequential deposition method is demonstrated for the first time. The approach not only achieves incorporation of controllable cesium into (FAPbI3)1–x(MAPbBr3)x perovskite, but also enlarges the perovskite grains, manipulates the crystallization, modulates the bandgap, and improves the stability of final perovskite films. The photovoltaic performances of the devices based on these Cs/FA/MA perovskite films with various amounts of the δ‐CsPbI3 intermediate phase are investigated systematically. Benefiting from moderate cesium incorporation and intermediate phase‐assisted grain growth, the optimized Cs/FA/MA perovskite solar cells exhibit a significantly improved power conversion efficiency and operational stability of unencapsulated devices. This facile strategy provides new insights into the compositional engineering of triple or quadruple cation perovskite materials with enlarged grains and superior stability via a sequential deposition method.  相似文献

The fragile bottom side of perovskite films is demonstrated to be harmful to the efficiency and stability of perovskite solar cells (PSCs) because the carrier extraction and recombination can be significantly influenced by the easily formed strain, voids, and defects on the bottom side. Nevertheless, the bottom side of perovskite films is usually overlooked because it remains a challenge to directly characterize and modify the bottom side. Herein, a facile and effective strategy is reported to stabilize the bottom side via preburying cesium formate (CsFo) into the SnO2 electron transport layer (ETL). It is found that the synergistic effect of cesium cation (Cs+) and formate anion (HCOO) causes strain relaxation, void elimination, and defects’ reduction, which further facilitate the charge extraction. Consequently, the champion power conversion efficiency (PCE) of formamidinium (FA)-based PSCs is increased from 23.34% to 24.50%. Meanwhile, the ultraviolet (UV), thermal, and operational stability are also enhanced. Finally, formamidinium–cesium (FACs)-based PSCs are investigated to confirm the effectiveness of this preburied CsFo strategy, and the optimal device exhibits a champion PCE of 25.03% and a remarkably high fill factor (FF) of 85.65%.  相似文献

Compared with silicon‐based solar cells, organic–inorganic hybrid perovskite solar cells (PSCs) possess a distinct advantage, i.e., its application in the flexible field. However, the efficiency of the flexible device is still lower than that of the rigid one. First, it is found that the dense formamidinium (FA)‐based perovskite film can be obtained with the help of N‐methyl‐2‐pyrrolidone (NMP) via low pressure‐assisted method. In addition, CH3NH3Cl (MACl) as the additive can preferentially form MAPbCl3?xIx perovskite seeds to induce perovskite phase transition and crystal growth. Finally, by using FAI·PbI2·NMP+x%MACl as the precursor, i.e., ligand and additive synergetic process, a FA‐based perovskite film with a large grain size, high crystallinity, and low trap density is obtained on a flexible substrate under ambient conditions due to the synergetic effect, e.g., MACl can enhance the crystallization of the intermediate phase of FAI·PbI2·NMP. As a result, a record efficiency of 19.38% in flexible planar PSCs is achieved, and it can retain about 89% of its initial power conversion efficiency (PCE) after 230 days without encapsulation under ambient conditions. The PCE retains 92% of the initial value after 500 bending cycles with a bending radii of 10 mm. The results show a robust way to fabricate highly efficient flexible PSCs.  相似文献

This study is on the enhancement of the efficiency of wide bandgap (FA0.8Cs0.2PbI1.8Br1.2) perovskite solar cells (PSCs) used as the top layer of the perovskite/perovskite tandem solar cell. Poly[bis(4-phenyl) (2,4,6-trimethylphenyl) amine] (PTAA) and the monomolecular layer called SAM layer are effective hole collection layers for APbI3 PSCs. However, these hole transport layers (HTL) do not give high efficiencies for the wide bandgap FA0.8Cs0.2PbI1.8Br1.2 PSCs. It is found that the surface-modified PTAA by monomolecular layer (MNL) improves the efficiency of PSCs. The improved efficiency is explained by the improved FA0.8Cs0.2PbI1.8Br1.2 film quality, decreased film distortion (low lattice disordering) and low density of the charge recombination site, and improves carrier collection by the surface modified PTAA layer. In addition, the relationship between the length of the alkyl group linking the anchor group and the carbazole group is also discussed. Finally, the wide bandgap lead PSCs (Eg = 1.77 eV) fabricated on the PTAA/monomolecular bilayer give a higher power conversion efficiency of 16.57%. Meanwhile, all-perovskite tandem solar cells with over 25% efficiency are reported by using the PTAA/monomolecular substrate.  相似文献

Perovskite solar cells employing [4-(3,6-dimethyl-9H-carbazol-9-yl)butyl]phosphonic acid (Me-4PACz) self-assembled monolayer as the hole transport layer have been reported to demonstrate a high device efficiency. However, the poor perovskite wetting on Me-4PACz caused by poor perovskite ink interaction with the underlying Me-4PACz presents significant challenges for fabricating efficient perovskite devices. A triple co-solvent system comprising dimethylformamide (DMF), dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO), and N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone (NMP) is employed to improve the perovskite ink - Me-4PACz coated substrate interaction and obtain a uniform perovskite layer. In comparison to DMF- and DMSO-based inks, the inclusion of NMP shows considerably higher binding energies of the perovskite ink with Me-4PACz as revealed by density-functional theory calculations. With the optimized triple co-solvent ratio, the perovskite devices deliver high power conversion efficiencies of >20%, 19.5%, and ≈18.5% for active areas of 0.16, 0.72, and 1.08 cm2, respectively. Importantly, this perovskite ink–substrate interaction approach is universal and helps in obtaining a uniform layer and high photovoltaic device performance for other perovskite compositions such as MAPbI3, FA1−xMAxPbI3–yBry, and MA-free FA1−xCsxPbI3–yBry.  相似文献

Operational stability of perovskite solar cells has been a challenge from the beginning of perovskite research. In general, humidity and heat are the most well‐known degradation sources for perovskites, requiring ideal design of perovskite chemistry to withstand them. Although triple‐cation perovskite (Cs0.05(FA0.85MA0.15)0.95Pb(I0.85Br0.15)3) has been already introduced as the stable perovskite material, the high reactivity of methylammonium and formamidinium in the cation sites demands further modification. Herein, 1,2,4‐triazole is suggested as an effective cation solute to improve the performance and stability of perovskite solar cells. 1,2,4‐Triazole is an aromatic cation with low dipole moment that is stable under humidity and heat. It also possesses three nitrogen atoms, forming additional hydrogen bonds in the lattice, stabilizing the material. In this study, the solar cell utilizing 1,2,4‐triazole alloying achieves a power conversion efficiency of 20.9% with superior stability under extreme condition (85 °C/85% of relative humidity (RH), encapsulated) for 700 h. The 1,2,4‐triazole‐alloyed perovskite exhibits reduced trap density and film roughness and enhanced carrier lifetime with electrical conductivity, suggesting an ideal perovskite structure for efficient and stable optoelectronic applications.  相似文献

2D perovskites have attracted extensive attention due to their excellent stability compared with 3D perovskites. However, the intrinsic hydrophilicity of introduced alkylammonium salts effects the humidity stability of 2D/3D perovskites. Devices based on longer chain alkylammonium salts show improvement in hydrophobicity but lower efficiency due to the poorer charge transport among various layers. To solve this issue, two hydrophobic short‐chain alkylammonium salts with halogen functional groups (2‐chloroethylamine, CEA+ and 2‐bromoethylamine, BEA+) are introduced into (Cs0.1FA0.9)Pb(I0.9Br0.1)3 3D perovskites to form 2D/3D perovskite structure, which achieve high‐quality perovskite films with better crystallization and morphology. The optimal 2D/3D perovskite solar cells (PSCs) with 5% CEA+ display a power conversion efficiency (PCE) as high as 20.08% under 1 sun irradiation. Because of the notable hydrophobicity of alkylammonium cations with halogen functional groups and the formed 2D/3D perovskite structure, the optimal PSCs exhibit superior moisture resistance and retain 92% initial PCE after aging at 50 ± 5% relative humidity for 2400 h. This work opens up a new direction for the design of new‐type 2D/3D PSCs with improved performance by employing proper alkylammonium salts with different functional groups.  相似文献

Perovskite solar cells (PSCs) based on organic monovalent cation (methylammonium or formamidinium) have shown excellent optoelectronic properties with high efficiencies above 22%, threatening the status of silicon solar cells. However, critical issues of long‐term stability have to be solved for commercialization. The severe weakness of the state‐of‐the‐art PSCs against moisture originates mainly from the hygroscopic organic cations. Here, rubidium (Rb) is suggested as a promising candidate for an inorganic–organic mixed cation system to enhance moisture‐tolerance and photovoltaic performances of formamidinium lead iodide (FAPbI3). Partial incorporation of Rb in FAPbI3 tunes the tolerance factor and stabilizes the photoactive perovskite structure. Phase conversion from hexagonal yellow FAPbI3 to trigonal black FAPbI3 becomes favored when Rb is introduced. The authors find that the absorbance and fluorescence lifetime of 5% Rb‐incorporated FAPbI3 (Rb0.05FA0.95PbI3) are enhanced than bare FAPbI3. Rb0.05FA0.95PbI3‐based PSCs exhibit a best power conversion efficiency of 17.16%, which is much higher than that of the FAPbI3 device (13.56%). Moreover, it is demonstrated that the Rb0.05FA0.95PbI3 film shows superior stability against high humidity (85%) and the full device made with the mixed perovskite exhibits remarkable long‐term stability under ambient condition without encapsulation, retaining the high performance for 1000 h.  相似文献

Composition engineering is a particularly simple and effective approach especially using mixed cations and halide anions to optimize the morphology, crystallinity, and light absorption of perovskite films. However, there are very few reports on the use of anion substitutions to develop uniform and highly crystalline perovskite films with large grain size and reduced defects. Here, the first report of employing tetrafluoroborate (BF4?) anion substitutions to improve the properties of (FA = formamidinium, MA = methylammonium (FAPbI3)0.83(MAPbBr3)0.17) perovskite films is demonstrated. The BF4? can be successfully incorporated into a mixed‐ion perovskite crystal frame, leading to lattice relaxation and a longer photoluminescence lifetime, higher recombination resistance, and 1–2 orders magnitude lower trap density in prepared perovskite films and derived solar cells. These advantages benefit the performance of perovskite solar cells (PVSCs), resulting in an improved power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 20.16% from 17.55% due to enhanced open‐circuit voltage (VOC) and fill factor. This is the highest PCE for BF4? anion substituted lead halide PVSCs reported to date. This work provides insight for further exploration of anion substitutions in perovskites to enhance the performance of PVSCs and other optoelectronic devices.  相似文献

High density of defects at interface severely affects the performance of perovskite solar cells (PSCs). Herein, cobalt (II) hexafluoro-2,4-pentanedionat (CoFAc), a hinge-type fluorine-rich complex, is introduced onto the surface of formamidinium cesium lead iodide (FACsPbI3) film to address the issues of perovskite/Spiro-OMeTAD interface. The existence of CoFAc passivates both organic cation and halide anion vacancies by establishing powerful hydrogen bonds with HC(NH2)2+ (FA+) and strong ionic bonds with Pb2+ in perovskite films. In addition, CoFAc serves as a connecting link to enhance interfacial hole-transport kinetics via interacting with Spiro-OMeTAD. Consequently, FACsPbI3 PSCs with CoFAc modification display a champion power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 24.64% with a charming open-circuit voltage (VOC) of 1.191 V, which is the record VOC among all the reported organic-inorganic hybrid PSCs with TiO2 as electron transport layer. Furthermore, CoFAc-modified devices exhibit an outstanding long-term stability, which can maintain 95% of their initial PCEs after exposure to ambient atmosphere for 1500 h without any encapsulation.  相似文献

Understanding crystallization processes and their pathways in metal‐halide perovskites is of crucial importance as this strongly affects the film microstructure, its stability, and device performance. While many approaches are developed to control perovskite formation, the mechanisms of film formation are still poorly known. Using time‐resolved in situ grazing incidence wide‐angle X‐ray scattering, the film formation of perovskites is investigated with average stoichiometry Cs0.15FA0.85PbI3, where FA is formamidinium, using the popular antisolvent dropping and gas jet treatments and this is contrasted with untreated films. i) The crystallization pathways during spin coating, ii) the subsequent postdeposition thermal annealing, and iii) crystallization during blade coating are studied. The findings reveal that the formation of a nonperovskite FAPbI3 phase during spin coating is initially dominant regardless of the processing and that the processing treatment (e.g., antisolvent dropping, gas jet) has a significant impact on the as‐cast film structure and affects the phase evolution during subsequent thermal treatment. It is shown that blade coating can be used to overcome the nonperovskite phase formation via solvothermal direct crystallization of perovskite phase. This work shows how real‐time investigation of perovskite formation can help to establish processing–microstructure–functionality relationships.  相似文献

As the most promising lead‐free branch, tin halide perovskites suffer from the severe oxidation from Sn2+ to Sn4+, which results in the unsatisfactory conversion efficiency far from what they deserve. In this work, by facile incorporation of methylammonium bromide in composition engineering, formamidinium and methylammonium mixed cations tin halide perovskite films with ultrahighly oriented crystallization are synthesized with the preferential facet of (001), and that oxidation is suppressed with obviously declined trap density. MA+ ions are responsible for that impressive orientation while Br ions account for their bandgap modulation. Depending on high quality of the optimal MA0.25FA0.75SnI2.75Br0.25 perovskite films, their device conversion efficiency surges to 9.31% in contrast to 5.02% of the control formamidinium tin triiodide perovskite (FASnI3) device, along with almost eliminated hysteresis. That also results in the outstanding device stability, maintaining above 80% of the initial efficiency after 300 h of light soaking while the control FASnI3 device fails within 120 h. This paper definitely paves a facile and effective way to develop high‐efficiency tin halide perovskites solar cells, optoelectronic devices, and beyond.  相似文献

Excess lead(II) iodide (PbI2) has controversial roles in affecting the efficiency of perovskite solar cells (PSCs). Since the photoinstability of PbI2 is now known to largely accelerate perovskite degradation, suppressing and/or eliminating excess PbI2 is key to improving the stability of PSCs. Herein, process-dependent PbI2 formation on the surfaces of formamidinium lead triiodide (FAPbI3) films is examined. Due to the faster evaporation rate of organic substances, crystalline PbI2 as an inclusion is found within the triple junction grain boundaries. With this hypothesis, two strategies are suggested: control of the 1) vapor pressure and 2) stoichiometry of precursor solutions to induce sufficient reaction of FAPbI3. Although both strategies successfully eliminate the PbI2 as inclusions, due to the slower evaporation rate, vapor pressure control films also exhibit a larger grain size (≈1.18 µm) with a good film quality to attain the highest power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 24.5%. Furthermore, the phase stability of α-FAPbI3 is improved due to the elimination of the degradation sites induced by the photoinstability of PbI2. The findings explore the formation process of unwanted PbI2 (≈2.8%) and provide a simple method to effectively suppress its formation. This may further boost the PCE and stability, especially for FA-based perovskites.  相似文献
