Ethylene-propylene-diene monomer (EPDM) ultrafine fibers have been prepared by electrospinning method, with an average diameter of micron grade and fibrous structural morphology. The effects of experimental parameters, including the solution concentration, applied voltage, collection distance, and flow rate, were investigated carefully. It shows that the morphology and fiber diameter of electrospun EPDM fibers are greatly influenced by the process parameters. Fourier transform infrared, X-ray diffraction, and differential scanning calorimetry apparatuses were used to analyze the structural and thermal properties of the electrospun fiber mat, with EPDM cast film as a comparison. The results reveal that the electrospun fiber mat has a lower degree of crystallinity than its cast film.  相似文献

This study aimed to enhance the antioxidant property of biopolymer film without the incorporation of external agents. The active bilayer film with improved antioxidant activity has been developed by electrospinning zein, a prolamine of corn as nanofibre (average diameter of 286 nm) on solvent cast chitosan film. Zein nanofibres exhibited a slight increase in antioxidant activity as compared to solvent cast zein film. But, zein nanofibre coating on chitosan films significantly improved its antioxidant activity from 12.41% to 44.17%. The developed bilayer films were evaluated for its ability to prevent browning in minimally processed apple slices and compared with those of chitosan and zein films plasticised with polyethylene glycol. Higher surface to volume ratio and better affinity of zein nanofibres in the bilayer film helped enhance its anti-browning ability. Thus, zein nanofibre-coated chitosan bilayer films can be used as an effective anti-browning packaging material for the packing of minimally processed fruits.  相似文献

For a foreign, independent film in competition with expensive Hollywood productions like Rain Man, the Tom Cruise-Dustin Hoffman show piece that swept the Oscars in 1989, Bagdad Cafe was rather successful. It was nominated for Best Foreign Film at the 1989 Independent Spirit Awards and grossed $3.6M in its initial North American release, a very respectable performance for a foreign film.2 Today, Bagdad Cafe is still a noteworthy specialty film that appeals primarily to an older, more highly educated segment of the moviegoing audience interested in work that offers an unusual aesthetic or dramatic experience (Rosen 1987: 6).  相似文献

The mechanical, hydrophobic and thermal properties of cast films of vicilin-rich protein isolates from three Phaseolus legumes were investigated and compared to that of soy protein isolate (SPI). The influence of heat curing at 85 °C on the properties of these films was characterized. The films of vicilin-rich protein isolates exhibited much less mechanical strength (TS) and elongation at break (EB) and similar film surface hydrophobicity, as compared with those of the SPI film. The heating remarkably improved the TS of these films, and the extent of the improvement much higher than that of the SPI film, while the EB was only slightly affected. The thermal properties of these protein isolate films were variable, and much distinctly affected by the heating of the films, to a various extent, depending on the type of protein isolates. Protein solubility analyses indicated strengthened hydrogen and hydrophobic bondings of these films by the heating. The results suggest that those vicilin-rich protein isolates have good potential to form cast films with mechanical strength comparable to that of SPI film.  相似文献

Fish myofibrillar protein-based biopackagings were developed from a film-forming solution cast on plates. Film thickness was modulated by variations in “apparent thickness” of the cast solution to evaluate effects on the main functional properties. The thickness variations seemed to have no influence on optical properties (apparent opacity) or on percent solubility in water. Study of mechanical properties revealed that elongation at break and relaxation coefficient were not dependent on film thickness, while force at break was directly proportional to film thickness. This could be interpreted by variations in the number of potential intermolecular interactions in the films. Analysis of water vapor transport showed that the biopackaging did not behave as an ideal material according to Fick's and Henry's laws.  相似文献

Color indicators for kimchi(fermented vegetable product) packaging were developed to monitor the quality of such commercial products during storage and distribution. Kimchiwas packed in a polypropylene (PP) tray with nylon/cast polypropylene (Ny/CPP) lid. A color indicator film consisting of PP resin, Ca(OH)2 as a CO2 absorbent and bromocresol purple or methyl red was attached to the lid. During fermentation at 0,10, and 20°C, kimchi quality was evaluated for pH and titratable acidity (TA), which had been correlated with Hunter color values of the indicators. Regardless of fermentation temperature, the color values correlated well with pH and TA values.  相似文献
