New Zn(II)‐chelated complexes based on benzothiazole derivatives, including substituted functional groups such as methyl ( MeZn ), methoxy ( MeOZn ), or fluorenyl unit ( FuZn ), are investigated to produce white‐light emission. 2‐(2‐Hydroxyphenyl)benzothiazole derivatives in toluene and DMSO exhibit excited‐state intramolecular proton transfer (ESIPT), leading to a large Stokes shift of the fluorescence emission. However, in methanol they exhibit no ESIPT due to the intermolecular hydrogen bonding between the 2‐(2‐hydroxyphenyl)benzothiazole derivative and methanol. Their Zn(II)‐chelated complexes exhibit the absorption band red‐shifted at 500 nm in nonpolar solvent and the absorption band blue‐shifted at about 420 nm in protic solvent. In multilayer electroluminescent devices, methyl‐substituted Zn(II)‐chelated complex ( MeZn ) exhibits excellent power efficiency and fluorene‐substituted Zn(II)‐chelated complex ( FuZn ) has a high luminance efficiency (1 cd m?2 at 3.5 V, 10 400 cd m?2 at 14 V). The EL spectra of Zn(II)‐chelated complexes based on benzothiazole derivatives exhibit broad emission bands. In addition, their electron‐transport property for red–green–blue (RGB) organic light‐emitting diodes (OLEDs) is systematically studied, in comparison with that of Alq3. The results demonstrate the promising potential of MeZn as an electron‐transporting layer (ETL) material in preference to Alq3, which is widely used as an ETL material.  相似文献

Organic light‐emitting diodes based on intramolecular‐charge‐transfer emission from two related donor–acceptor (D–A) molecules, 3,7‐[bis(4‐phenyl‐2‐quinolyl)]‐10‐methylphenothiazine (BPQ‐MPT) and 3,6‐[bis(4‐phenyl‐2‐quinolyl)]‐9‐methylcarbazole (BPQ‐MCZ), were found to have electroluminescence (EL) efficiencies and device brightnesses that differ by orders of magnitude. High brightness (> 40 000 cd m–2) and high efficiency (21.9 cd A–1, 10.8 lm W–1, 5.78 % external quantum efficiency (EQE) at 1140 cd m–2) green EL was achieved from the BPQ‐MPT emitter, which has its highest occupied molecular orbital (HOMO) level at 5.09 eV and a nonplanar geometry. In contrast, diodes with much lower brightness (2290 cd m–2) and efficiency (1.4 cd A–1, 0.66 lm W–1, 1.7 % EQE at 405 cd m–2) were obtained from the BPQ‐MCZ emitter, which has its HOMO level at 5.75 eV and exhibits a planar geometry. Compared to BPQ‐MCZ, the higher‐lying HOMO level of BPQ‐MPT facilitates more efficient hole injection/transport and a higher charge‐recombination rate, while its nonplanar geometry ensures diode color purity. White EL was observed from BPQ‐MCZ diodes owing to a blue intramolecular charge‐transfer emission and a yellow–orange intermolecular excimer emission, enabled by the planar molecular geometry. These results demonstrate that high‐performance light‐emitting devices can be achieved from intramolecular charge‐transfer emission, while highlighting the critical roles of the electron‐donor strength and the molecular geometry of D–A molecules.  相似文献

Strong intermolecular interactions usually result in decreases in solubility and fluorescence efficiency of organic molecules. Therefore, amorphous materials are highly pursued when designing solution‐processable, electroluminescent organic molecules. In this paper, a non‐planar binaphthyl moiety is presented as a way of reducing intermolecular interactions and four binaphthyl‐containing molecules ( BNCM s): green‐emitting BBB and TBT as well as red‐emitting BTBTB and TBBBT , are designed and synthesized. The photophysical and electrochemical properties of the molecules are systematically investigated and it is found that TBT , TBBBT , and BTBTB solutions show high photoluminescence (PL) quantum efficiencies of 0.41, 0.54, and 0.48, respectively. Based on the good solubility and amorphous film‐forming ability of the synthesized BNCM s, double‐layer structured organic light‐emitting diodes (OLEDs) with BNCM s as emitting layer and poly(N‐vinylcarbazole) (PVK) or a blend of poly[N,N′‐bis(4‐butylphenyl)‐N,N′‐bis(phenyl)benzidine] and PVK as hole‐transporting layer are fabricated by a simple solution spin‐coating procedure. Amongst those, the BTBTB based OLED, for example, reaches a high maximum luminance of 8315 cd · m−2 and a maximum luminous efficiency of 1.95 cd · A−1 at a low turn‐on voltage of 2.2 V. This is one of the best performances of a spin‐coated OLED reported so far. In addition, by doping the green and red BNCM s into a blue‐emitting host material poly(9,9‐dioctylfluorene‐2,7‐diyl) high performance white light‐emitting diodes with pure white light emission and a maximum luminance of 4000 cd · m−2 are realized.  相似文献

By using Ni0‐mediated polymerization, we have systematically synthesized a series of fluorene‐based copolymers composed of blue‐, green‐, and red‐light‐emitting comonomers with a view to producing polymers with white‐light emission. 2,7‐Dibromo‐9,9‐dihexylfluorene, {4‐(2‐[2,5‐dibromo‐4‐{2‐(4‐diphenylamino‐phenyl)‐vinyl}‐phenyl]‐vinyl)‐phenyl}‐diphenylamine (DTPA), and 2‐{2‐(2‐[4‐{bis(4‐bromo‐phenyl)amino}‐phenyl]‐vinyl)‐6‐tert‐butyl‐pyran‐4‐ylidene}‐malononitrile (TPDCM) were used as the blue‐, green‐, and red‐light‐emitting comonomers, respectively. It was found that the emission spectra of the resulting copolymers could easily be tuned by varying their DTPA and TPDCM content. Thus with the appropriate red/green/blue (RGB) unit ratio, we were able to obtain white‐light emission from these copolymers. A white‐light‐emitting diode using the polyfluorene copolymer containing 3 % green‐emitting DTPA and 2 % red‐emitting TPDCM (PG3R2) with a structure of indium tin oxide/poly(3,4‐ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrene sulfonic acid)/PG3R2/Ca/Al was found to exhibit a maximum brightness of 820 cd m–2 at 11 V with Commission Internationale de L'Eclairage (CIE) coordinates of (0.33,0.35), which are close to the standard CIE coordinates for white‐light emission (0.33,0.33).  相似文献

The unique and unprecedented electroluminescence behavior of the white‐emitting molecule 3‐(1‐(4‐(4‐(2‐(2‐hydroxyphenyl)‐4,5‐diphenyl‐1H‐imidazol‐1‐yl)phenoxy)phenyl)‐4,5‐diphenyl‐1H‐imidazol‐2‐yl)naphthalen‐2‐ol (W1), fluorescence emission from which is controlled by the excited‐state intramolecular proton transfer (ESIPT) is investigated. W1 is composed of covalently linked blue‐ and yellow‐color emitting ESIPT moieties between which energy transfer is entirely frustrated. It is demonstrated that different emission colors (blue, yellow, and white) can be generated from the identical emitter W1 in organic light‐emitting diode (OLED) devices. Charge trapping mechanism is proposed to explain such a unique color‐tuned emission from W1. Finally, the device structure to create a color‐stable, color reproducible, and simple‐structured white organic light‐emitting diode (WOLED) using W1 is investigated. The maximum luminance efficiency, power efficiency, and luminance of the WOLED were 3.10 cd A?1, 2.20 lm W?1, 1 092 cd m?2, respectively. The WOLED shows white‐light emission with the Commission Internationale de l′Eclairage (CIE) chromaticity coordinates (0.343, 0.291) at a current level of 10 mA cm?2. The emission color is high stability, with a change of the CIE chromaticity coordinates as small as (0.028, 0.028) when the current level is varied from 10 to 100 mA cm?2.  相似文献

Despite the success of thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) emitters in monochromatic organic light‐emitting diodes (OLED), only few efficient full‐TADF white OLEDs (WOLED) are reported because of the challenge in rational exciton allocation between blue and other color emitters. Herein, it is demonstrated that the appropriate exciton delocalization in blue TADF matrixes can simultaneously support the sufficient blue emission and the energy loss–free charge and exciton transfer to yellow TADF emitters. Through introducing steric hindrance–modulated intermolecular hydrogen bond networks, a fluorinated carbazole‐phosphine oxide hybrid realizes the balance of exciton localization and delocalization, giving rise to state‐of‐the‐art external quantum efficiency beyond 20% from its simple trilayer full‐TADF WOLEDs, accompanied by excellent spectral stability. The correlation between the efficiencies of the blue TADF matrixes and their intermolecular interactions reveals that the exciton delocalization is crucial for the exciton allocation optimization in multicomponent emission systems.  相似文献

A strategy by encapsulating organic dyes into the pores of a luminescent metal‐organic framework (MOF) is developed to achieve white‐light‐emitting phosphor. Both the red‐light emitting dye 4‐(p‐dimethylaminostyryl)‐1‐methylpyridinium ( DSM ) and the green‐light emitting dye acriflavine ( AF ) are encapsulated into a blue‐emitting anionic MOF ZJU‐28 through an ion‐exchange process to yield the MOF?dye composite ZJU‐28?DSM/AF . The emission color of the obtained composite can be easily modulated by simply adjusting the amount and component of dyes. With careful adjustment of the relative concentration of the dyes DSM and AF , the resulting ZJU‐28?DSM/AF (0.02 wt% DSM , 0.06 wt% AF ) exhibits a broadband white emission with ideal CIE coordinates of (0.34, 0.32), high color‐rendering index value of 91, and moderate correlated color temperature value of 5327 K. Such a strategy can be easily expanded to other luminescent MOFs and dyes, thus opening a new perspective for the development of white light emitting materials.  相似文献

Efficient white‐light‐emitting diodes (WLEDs) have been developed using a polyfluorene‐type blue‐emitting conjugated polymer doped with green and red phosphorescent dyes. The emission spectrum of the conjugated polymer, which has a very high luminescent efficiency, shows a large spectral overlap with the absorbance of green and red iridium complexes. Also, efficient energy transfer from the conjugated polymer to the iridium complexes is observed. Poly(N‐vinyl carbazole) is used to improve the miscibility between conjugated polymer and iridium complexes because of their poor chemical compatibility and phase separation. A white emission spectrum is easily obtained by varying the contents of the three materials and controlling the phase morphology. Moreover, these WLEDs show a voltage‐independent electroluminescence owing to the threshold and driving voltage of the three materials being similar as a result of energy transfer.  相似文献

Formation of a single‐component charge‐transfer complex (SCCTC) is unveiled in solid state of an intermolecular charge‐transfer molecule 2‐(4‐(1‐phenyl‐1H‐phenanthro[9,10‐d]imidazol‐2‐yl)phenyl)anthracene‐9,10‐dione (PIPAQ). Intermolecular donor–acceptor interactions between two PIPAQ molecules is the primary driving force for self‐association and contributes to intermolecular charge transfer. The SCCTC character is fully verified by crystallographic, photophysical, electron spin resonance, and vibrational characterizations. The PIPAQ‐based SCCTC is first applied in light‐emitting devices as an emissive layer to realize efficient deep‐red/near‐infrared electroluminescence. This work provides new insights into SCCTC and represents an important step toward their applications in optoelectronic devices.  相似文献

A new series of blue‐light‐emitting fluorene derivatives have been synthesized and characterized. The fluorene derivatives have high fluorescence yields, good thermal stability, and high glass‐transition temperatures in the range 145–193 °C. Organic light‐emitting diodes (OLEDs) fabricated using the fluorene derivatives as the host emitter show high efficiency (up to 5.3 cd A–1 and 3.0 lm W–1) and bright blue‐light emission (Commission Internationale de L'Eclairage (CIE) coordinates of x = 0.16, y = 0.22). The performance of the non‐doped fluorene‐based devices is among the best fluorescent blue‐light‐emitting OLEDs. The good performance of the present blue OLEDs is considered to derive from: 1) appropriate energy levels of the fluorene derivatives for good carrier injection; 2) good carrier‐transporting properties; and 3) high fluorescence efficiency of the fluorene derivatives. These merits are discussed in terms of the molecular structures.  相似文献

A series of compounds containing arylamine and 1,2‐diphenyl‐1H‐benz[d]imidazole moieties are developed as ambipolar, blue‐emitting materials with tunable blue‐emitting wavelengths, tunable ambipolar carrier‐transport properties and tunable triplet energy gaps. These compounds possess several novel properties: (1) they emit in the blue region with high quantum yields; (2) they have high morphological stability and thermal stability; (3) they are capable of ambipolar carrier transport; (4) they possess tunable triplet energy gaps, suitable as hosts for yellow‐orange to green phosphors. The electron and hole mobilities of these compounds lie in the range of 0.68–144 × 10?6 and 0.34–147 × 10?6 cm2 V?1 s?1, respectively. High‐performance, single‐layer, blue‐emitting, fluorescent organic light‐emitting diodes (OLEDs) are achieved with these ambipolar materials. High‐performance, single‐layer, phosphorescent OLEDs with yellow‐orange to green emission are also been demonstrated using these ambipolar materials, which have different triplet energy gaps as the host for yellow‐orange‐emitting to green‐emitting iridium complexes. When these ambipolar, blue‐emitting materials are lightly doped with a yellow‐orange‐emitting iridium complex, white organic light‐emitting diodes (WOLEDs) can be achieved, as well by the use of the incomplete energy transfer between the host and the dopant.  相似文献

Novel fluorene‐based blue‐light‐emitting copolymers with an ultraviolet‐blue‐light (UV‐blue‐light) emitting host and a blue‐light emitting component, 4‐N,N‐diphenylaminostilbene (DPS) have been designed and synthesized by using the palladium‐ catalyzed Suzuki coupling reaction. It was found that both copolymers poly [2,7‐(9,9‐dioctylfluorene)‐alt‐1,3‐(5‐carbazolphenylene)] (PFCz) DPS1 and PFCz‐DPS1‐OXD show pure blue‐light emission even with only 1 % DPS units because of the efficient energy transfer from the UV‐blue‐light emitting PFCz segments to the blue‐light‐emitting DPS units. Moreover, because of the efficient energy transfer/charge trapping in these copolymers, PFCz‐DPS1 and PFCz‐DPS1‐OXD show excellent device performance with a very stable pure blue‐light emission. By using a neutral surfactant poly[9,9‐bis(6'‐(diethanolamino)hexyl)‐fluorene] (PFN‐OH) as the electron injection layer, the device based on PFCz‐DPS1‐OXD5 with the configuration of ITO/PEDOT:PSS/PVK/polymer/PFN‐OH/Al showed a maximum quantum efficiency of 2.83 % and a maximum luminous efficiency of 2.50 cd A–1. Its CIE 1931 chromaticity coordinates of (0.156, 0.080) match very well with the NTSC standard blue pixel coordinates of (0.14, 0.08). These results indicate that this kind of dopant/host copolymer could be a promising candidate for blue‐light‐emitting polymers with high efficiency, good color purity, and excellent color stability.  相似文献

White light‐emitting phenothiazine‐poly(dimethylsiloxane) ( PTZ–PDMS ) composites are formed by a photooxidation reaction. The oxidized PTZ species, i.e., PTZ cation radicals and dication species, are created by electron transfer from the PTZ molecules to PDMS under UV irradiation. In situ UV–vis and electron spin resonance (ESR) spectroscopies are carried out after UV exposure of PTZ–PDMS , and the results provide evidence for the spontaneous ionization of PTZ . The spectral changes indicate the formation of PTZ?+ (radical cation) and PTZ2+ (dication) within the PDMS matrix. Moreover, a combination of PTZ , PTZ? +, and PTZ2+ , together with the PDMS matrix, show an unexpected emission of white light with Commission Internationale de L'Eclairage coordinates of 0.34 and 0.32, which are close to those of pure white light. These findings potentially offer a new route and strategy for the development of flexible white light‐emitting materials.  相似文献

Light‐emitting diodes exhibiting efficient pure‐white‐light electroluminescence have been successfully developed by using a single polymer: polyfluorene derivatives with 1,8‐naphthalimide chromophores chemically doped onto the polyfluorene backbones. By adjusting the emission wavelength of the 1,8‐naphthalimide components and optimizing the relative content of 1,8‐naphthalimide derivatives in the resulting polymers, white‐light electroluminescence from a single polymer, as opposed to a polymer blend, has been obtained in a device with a configuration of indium tin oxide/poly(3,4‐ethylenedioxythiophene)(50 nm)/polymer(80 nm)/Ca(10 nm)/Al(100 nm). The device exhibits Commission Internationale de l'Eclairage coordinates of (0.32,0.36), a maximum brightness of 11 900 cd m–2, a current efficiency of 3.8 cd A–1, a power efficiency of 2.0 lm W–1, an external quantum efficiency of 1.50 %, and quite stable color coordinates at different driving voltages, even at high luminances of over 5000 cd m–2.  相似文献

An active matrix‐type stretchable display is realized by overlay‐aligned transfer of inorganic light‐emitting diode (LED) and single‐crystal Si thin film transistor (TFT) with roll processes. The roll‐based transfer enables integration of heterogeneous thin film devices on a rubber substrate while preserving excellent electrical and optical properties of these devices, comparable to their bulk properties. The electron mobility of the integrated Si‐TFT is over 700 cm2 V?1 s?1, and this is attributed to the good interface between the Si channel and the thermally grown SiO2 insulator. The light emission properties of the LED are of wafer quality. The resulting display stably operates under tensile strains up to 40%, over 200 cycles, demonstrating the potential of stretchable displays based on inorganic materials.  相似文献

A study of the optical properties of poly(9,9‐dioctylfluorene‐co‐bithiophene) (F8T2) is reported, identifying this polymer as one that possesses a desirable combination of charge transport and light emission properties. The optical and morphological properties of a series of polymer blends with F8T2 dispersed in poly(9,9‐dioctylfluorene) (PFO) are described and almost pure‐green emission from light emitting diodes (LEDs) based thereon is demonstrated. High luminance green electroluminescence from LEDs using only a thin film of F8T2 for emission is also reported. The latter demonstration for a polymer previously primarily of interest for effective charge transport constitutes an important step in the development of emissive materials for applications where a union of efficient light emission and effective charge transport is required.  相似文献

Near‐infrared organic light‐emitting diodes (NIR OLEDs) enable many unique applications ranging from night‐vision displays and photodynamic therapies. However, the development of efficient NIR OLEDs with a low efficiency roll‐off is still challenging. Here, a series of new heteroleptic Pt(II) complexes ( 1 – 4 ) flanked by both pyridyl pyrimidinate and functional azolate chelates are synthesized. The reduced ππ* energy gap of the pyridyl pyrimidinate chelate, and strong intermolecular interaction and high crystallinity in vacuum‐deposited thin films engender strong intermolecular charge transfer transition including metal–metal‐to‐ligand charge transfer; thereby, exhibiting efficient photoluminescence within 776–832 nm and short radiative lifetimes of 0.52–0.79 µs. Consequently, nondoped NIR‐emitting OLEDs based on these Pt(II) complexes are fabricated, to which Pt(II) complexes 2 and 4 give record high maximum external quantum efficiency of 10.61% at 794 nm and 9.58% at 803 nm, respectively. Moreover, low efficiency roll‐off is also observed, among which the device efficiencies of 2 and 4 are at least four times higher than that of the best NIR‐emitting OLEDs recorded at current density of 100 mA cm?2.  相似文献

Here, it is demonstrated that energy transfer in a blend of semiconducting polymers can be strongly reduced by non‐covalent encapsulation of one constituent, ensured by threading of the conjugated strands into functionalized cyclodextrins. Such macrocycles control the minimum intermolecular distance of chromophores with similar alignment, at the nanoscale, and therefore the relevant energy transfer rates, thus enabling fabrication of white‐light‐emitting diodes (CIE coordinates: x = 0.282, y = 0.336). In particular, white electroluminescence in a binary blend of a blue‐emitting, organic‐soluble rotaxane based on a polyfluorene derivative and the green‐emitting poly(9,9‐dioctylfluorene‐alt‐benzothiadiazole ( F8BT ) is achieved. Morphological and structural analyses by atomic force microscopy, fluorescence mapping, µ‐Raman, and fluorescence lifetime microscopy are used to complement optical and electroluminescence characterization, and to enable a deeper insight into the properties of the novel blend.  相似文献

White‐light‐emitting electrochemical cells (WLECs) still represent a significant milestone, since only a few examples with moderate performances have been reported. Particularly, multiemissive white emitters are highly desired, as a paradigm to circumvent phase separation and voltage‐dependent emission color issues that are encountered following host:guest and multilayered approaches. Herein, the origin of the exclusive white ternary electroluminescent behavior of BN‐doped nanographenes with a B3N3 doping pattern (hexa‐perihexabenzoborazinocoronene) is rationalized, leading to one of the most efficient (≈3 cd A?1) and stable‐over‐days single‐component and single‐layered WLECs. To date, BN‐doped nanographenes have featured blue thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF). This doping pattern provides, however, white electroluminescence spanning the whole visible range (x/y CIE coordinates of 0.29–31/0.31–38 and average color rendering index (CRI) of 87) through a ternary emission involving fluorescence and thermally activated dual phosphorescence. This temperature‐dependent multiemissive mechanism is operative for both photo‐ and electroluminescence processes and holds over the device lifespan, regardless of the device architecture, active layer composition, and operating conditions. As such, this work represents a new stepping‐stone toward designing a new family of multiemissive white emitters based on BN‐doped nanographenes that realizes one of the best‐performing single‐component white‐emitting devices compared to the prior‐art.  相似文献
