A notion of hierarchical scope is commonplace in many programmatic systems. In the context of model, and in particular graph transformation, the use of scope can present two advantages: first, more natural expression of transformation application locality, and second, reduction in the number of match candidates, promising performance improvements. Previous work on scope, however, has focused on applying it to rule hierarchies, which reduces the number of matches performed, but not necessarily the cost of finding a single match. In this paper we define and explore a hierarchical scope formalism applied to the input graph, with associated modifications to the transformation rule definition. We then experimentally evaluate the benefits and challenges of our scoped model transformations in the state-of-the-art graph rewriting tool GrGen and our research-oriented, meta-modeling and rule-based model transformation tool AToMPM. We use a non-trivial “fire spreading” simulation transformation taken from distributed simulation community and a mutual exclusion transformation benchmark to demonstrate that integration of scope results in an elegant, intuitive, and efficient way of solving model transformation problems.  相似文献

Due to its extensive potential applications, model management has attracted many research interests and gained great progress. To provide easy-to-use interfaces, we have proposed a graph transformation-based model management approach that provides intuitive interfaces for manipulation of graphical data models. The approach consists of two levels of graphical operators: low-level customizable operators and high-level generic operators, both of which consist of a set of graph transformation rules. Users need to program or tune the low-level operators for desirable results. To further improve the ease-of-use of the graphical model management, automatic generation of low level of operators is highly desirable. The paper formalizes specifications of low- and high-level operators and proposes a generator to automatically transform high-level operators into low-level operators upon specific input data models. Based on graph transformation theoretical foundation, we design an algorithm for the generator to automatically produce low-level operators from input data models and mappings according to a high-level operator. The generator, called AutoGen, therefore eliminates many tedious specifications and thus eases the use of the graphical model management system.  相似文献

Model transformation is one of the key activities in model-driven software development. An increasingly popular technology to define modeling languages is provided by the Eclipse Modeling Framework (EMF). Several EMF model transformation approaches have been developed, focusing on different transformation aspects. To validate model transformations with respect to functional behavior and correctness, a formal foundation is needed. In this paper, we define consistent EMF model transformations as a restricted class of typed graph transformations using node type inheritance. Containment constraints of EMF model transformations are translated to a special kind of graph transformation rules such that their application leads to consistent transformation results only. Thus, consistent EMF model transformations behave like algebraic graph transformations and the rich theory of algebraic graph transformation can be applied to these EMF model transformations to show functional behavior and correctness. Furthermore, we propose parallel graph transformation as a suitable framework for modeling EMF model transformations with multi-object structures. Rules extended by multi-object structures can specify a flexible number of recurring structures. The actual number of recurring structures is dependent on the application context of such a rule. We illustrate our approach by selected refactorings of simplified statechart models. Finally, we discuss the implementation of our concepts in a tool environment for EMF model transformations.  相似文献

Recently, we proposed an integrated formal semantics based on graph transformation for central aspects of UML class, object and state diagrams. In this paper, we explain the basic ideas of that approach and show how two more UML diagram types, sequence and collaboration diagrams, can be captured. For UML models consisting of a class diagram and particular state diagrams, a graph transformation system can be defined. Its graphs are associated with system states and its rules with operations in the class diagram and transitions in the state diagrams. Sequence and collaboration diagrams then characterize sequences of operation applications and therefore sequences of transformation rule applications. Thus valid sequence and collaboration diagrams correspond to derivations induced by the graph transformation system. Proceeding this way, it can be checked for example whether such an operation application sequence may be applied in a specific system state.  相似文献

Software engineering tools based on Graph Transformation techniques are becoming available, but their practical applicability is somewhat reduced by the lack of idioms and design patterns. Idioms and design patterns provide prototypical solutions for recurring design problems in software engineering, but their use can be easily extended into software development using graph transformation systems. In this paper we briefly present a simple graph transformation language: GReAT, and show how typical design problems that arise in the context of model transformations can be solved using its constructs. These solutions are similar to software design patterns, and intend to serve as the starting point for a more complete collection.  相似文献

One of the most important issues in the theory of OWA operators is the determination of associated weights. This matter is essential in order to use the best-suited OWA operator in each aggregation process. Given that some aggregation processes can be seen as extensions of majority rules to the field of gradual preferences, it is possible to determine the OWA operator weights by taking into account the class of majority rule that we want to obtain when individuals do not grade their pairwise preferences. However, a difficulty with this approach is that the same majority rule can be obtained through a wide variety of OWA operators. For this reason, a model for selecting the best-suited OWA operators is proposed in this paper.  相似文献

The regular model-checking approach is a set of techniques aimed at exploring symbolically infinite state spaces. These techniques proceed by representing sets of configurations of the system under analysis by regular languages, and the transition relation between these configurations by a transformation over such languages. The set of reachable configurations can then be computed by repeatedly applying the transition relation, starting from a representation of the initial set of configurations, until a fixed point is reached. In order for this computation to terminate, it is generally needed to introduce so-called acceleration operators, the purpose of which is to explore in one computation step infinitely many paths in the transition graph of the system. A simple form of acceleration operator is one that is associated to a cycle in the transition graph, computing the set of states that can be obtained by following this cycle arbitrarily many times. The computation of acceleration operators is strongly dependent on the type of the data values that are manipulated by the system, and on the symbolic representation chosen for handling sets of such values. In this survey, we describe acceleration operators suited for the regular state-space exploration of systems relying on FIFO communication channels, as well as those based on integer and real variables.  相似文献

The purpose of this paper is twofold. First, it explores the issue of producing valid, compact round-robin sports schedules by considering the problem as one of graph colouring. Using this model, which can also be extended to incorporate additional constraints, the difficulty of such problems is then gauged by considering the performance of a number of different graph colouring algorithms. Second, neighbourhood operators are then proposed that can be derived from the underlying graph colouring model and, in an example application, we show how these operators can be used in conjunction with multi-objective optimisation techniques to produce high-quality solutions to a real-world sports league scheduling problem encountered at the Welsh Rugby Union in Cardiff, Wales.  相似文献

We present a novel approach to implement a graph transformation engine based on standard relational database management systems (RDBMSs). The essence of the approach is to create database views for each rule and to handle pattern matching by inner join operations while handling negative application conditions by left outer join operations. Furthermore, the model manipulation prescribed by the application of a graph transformation rule is also implemented using elementary data manipulation statements (such as insert, delete). As a result, we obtain a robust and fast transformation engine especially suitable for (1) extending modeling tools with an underlying RDBMS repository and (2) embedding model transformations into large distributed applications where models are frequently persisted in a relational database and transaction handling is required to handle large models consistently.  相似文献

New conditions for internal stability of a closed-loop control system are given in terms of the graphs of the multiplication operators induced by the transfer functions of the plant and the controller. These conditions can be given a geometrical interpretation. This relates closed-loop stability to the minimal angle between the graph space associated with the system and the graph space associated with the controller. The maximally stabilizing controller is defined as the controller that maximizes the minimum angle between the graph space associated with the system and the graph space associated with the controller. It is shown that this controller can be calculated as a Nehari extension of the coprime factors of the system.  相似文献

Reasoning about graph and model transformation systems is an important means to underpin model-driven software engineering, such as Model-Driven Architecture (MDA) and Model Integrated Computing (MIC). Termination criteria for graph and model transformation systems have become a focused area recently. This paper provides termination criteria for graph and model transformation systems with injective matches and finite input structure. It proposes a treatment for infinite sequences of rule applications, and takes attribute conditions, negative application conditions, and type constraints into account. The results are illustrated on case studies excerpted from real-world transformations, which show the termination properties of the frequently used "transitive closure" and "leaf collector" transformation idioms. An intuitive comparison with other approaches is also given.  相似文献

模型转换主要用于模型的演化、求精以及重构.模型转换需要遵循一定的约束规则以保持模型的某些特性.模型演化通常要求保持已有的接口;模型重构则必须保证重构前后的软件具有相同的外部行为特性.为了严格证明某个模型转换规则是否满足这些约束,特性保持约束必须形式化地加以描述.为了实现证明过程的自动化,需要总结通用的证明过程并给出实现算法.提出了一种基于图转换的特性保持约束描述机制,将模型演化与重构中的转换规则以及特性保持约束都描述为图转换规则.借助图转换的冲突检测机制,给出了严格证明转换规则是否满足特性保持约束的算法.  相似文献

The ability to assess the reliability of safety-critical systems is one of the most crucial requirements in the design of modern safety-critical systems where even a minor failure can result in loss of life or irreparable damage to the environment. Model checking is an automatic technique that verifies or refutes system properties by exploring all reachable states (state space) of a model. In large and complex systems, it is probable that the state space explosion problem occurs. In exploring the state space of systems modeled by graph transformations, the rule applied on the current state specifies the rule that can perform on the next state. In other words, the allowed rule on the current state depends only on the applied rule on the previous state, not the ones on earlier states. This fact motivates us to use a Markov chain (MC) to capture this type of dependencies and applies the Estimation of Distribution Algorithm (EDA) to improve the quality of the MC. EDA is an evolutionary algorithm directing the search for the optimal solution by learning and sampling probabilistic models through the best individuals of a population at each generation. To show the effectiveness of the proposed approach, we implement it in GROOVE, an open source toolset for designing and model checking graph transformation systems. Experimental results confirm that the proposed approach has a high speed and accuracy in comparison with the existing meta-heuristic and evolutionary techniques in safety analysis of systems specified formally through graph transformations.  相似文献

Due to the increasing need of highly dependable services in Service-Oriented Architectures (SOA), service-level agreements include more and more frequently such non-functional aspects as security, safety, availability, reliability, etc. Whenever a service can no longer be provided with the required QoS, the service requester needs to switch dynamically to a new service having adequate service parameters after exchanging a sequence of messages. In the current paper, we first extend the core SOA metamodel with parameters required for reliable messaging in services. Then we model reconfigurations for reliable message delivery by graph transformation rules. Finally, we carry out a formal verification of the proposed rule set by combining analysis tools for graph transformation and labeled transition systems.  相似文献

The correctness of model transformations is a crucial element for model-driven engineering of high-quality software. A prerequisite to verify model transformations at the level of the model transformation specification is that an unambiguous formal semantics exists and that the implementation of the model transformation language adheres to this semantics. However, for existing relational model transformation approaches, it is usually not really clear under which constraints particular implementations really conform to the formal semantics. In this paper, we will bridge this gap for the formal semantics of triple graph grammars (TGG) and an existing efficient implementation. While the formal semantics assumes backtracking and ignores non-determinism, practical implementations do not support backtracking, require rule sets that ensure determinism, and include further optimizations. Therefore, we capture how the considered TGG implementation realizes the transformation by means of operational rules, define required criteria, and show conformance to the formal semantics if these criteria are fulfilled. We further outline how static and runtime checks can be employed to guarantee these criteria.  相似文献

In this paper we present an approach for the analysis of graph transformation rules based on an intermediate OCL representation. We translate different rule semantics into OCL, together with the properties of interest (like rule applicability, conflicts or independence). The intermediate representation serves three purposes: (1) it allows the seamless integration of graph transformation rules with the MOF and OCL standards, and enables taking the meta-model and its OCL constraints (i.e. well-formedness rules) into account when verifying the correctness of the rules; (2) it permits the interoperability of graph transformation concepts with a number of standards-based model-driven development tools; and (3) it makes available a plethora of OCL tools to actually perform the rule analysis. This approach is especially useful to analyse the operational semantics of Domain Specific Visual Languages. We have automated these ideas by providing designers with tools for the graphical specification and analysis of graph transformation rules, including a back-annotation mechanism that presents the analysis results in terms of the original language notation.  相似文献

We introduce the MoTif (Modular Timed graph transformation) language, which allows one to elegantly model complex control structures for programmed graph transformation. These include modular construction, parallel composition, and a temporal dimension in addition to the usual transformation control structures. The first part of this contribution formally introduces MoTif and its semantics is based on the Discrete EVent system Specification (DEVS) formalism which allows for highly modular, hierarchical modelling of timed, reactive systems. In MoTif, graphs are embedded in events and individual transformation rules are embedded in atomic DEVS models. A side effect of the use of DEVS is the introduction of an explicit notion of time. This allows one to model a time-advance for every rule as well as to interrupt (pre-empt) rule execution. In the second part, we design a case study to show how the explicit notion of time allows for the simulation-based design of reactive systems such as modern computer games. We use the well-known game of PacMan as an example and model its dynamics in MoTif. This also allows the modelling of player behaviour, incorporating data about human players’ behaviour, and reaction times. Thus, a model of both player and game is obtained which can be used to evaluate, through simulation, the playability of a game design. We propose a playability performance measure and change the value of some parameters of the PacMan game. For each variant of the game thus obtained, simulation yields a value for the quality of the game. This allows us to choose an “optimal” (from a playability point of view) game configuration. The user model is subsequently replaced by a visual interface to a real player, and the game model is executed using a real-time DEVS simulator.  相似文献
