Antioxidative activities of evening primrose seed meal extracts in sunflower and rapeseed oils were compared with that of commercially used antioxidants, namely butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT), ascorbylpalmitate as well as Grindox‐118. The study was carried out under Schaal oven conditions at 60 °C and the weight gain was followed up by p‐anisidine value measurement following the oxidation. An Oxidograph apparatus monitored the oxidation of oils at 110 °C. Among the examined extracts, the ethyl acetate extract (0.2%), containing only 87 mg/g of total phenolics, exhibited a stronger antioxidant activity than BHT (0.01%) and effectively stabilised both oils. A strong antioxidative effect was also noted for the ethanol‐ethyl acetate extract (168 mg/g of total phenolics). The study showed that addition of ethyl acetate and ethanol‐ethyl acetate extracts could extend the sunflower and rapeseed oils shelf‐life by protecting oils from further decomposition that naturally occurs during thermal treatments.  相似文献

BACKGROUND: Treatment in aqueous media (hydrothermal or autohydrolysis reactions) is an environmentally friendly technology for fractionating lignocellulosic materials. Rice husks were subjected to hydrothermal processing under a variety of operational conditions to cause the selective breakdown of xylan chains, in order to assess the effects of reaction severity on the distribution of reaction products. RESULTS: The effects of severity (measured by the severity factor, R0) on the concentrations of the major autohydrolysis products (monosaccharides, xylo‐ and glucooligosaccharides, xylooligosaccharide substituents, acetic acid, acid‐soluble lignin and elemental nitrogen) were assessed. The interrelationship between the severity of treatment and molecular weight distribution was established by high‐performance size‐exclusion chromatography. Selected samples were subjected to refining treatments as ethyl acetate extraction and ion exchange for refining purposes, and the concentrates were assayed by high‐performance anion‐exchange chromatography and matrix‐assisted laser desorption/ionization time‐of‐flight mass spectrometry. CONCLUSIONS The protein equivalent of the products present in liquors accounted for 43 to 51% of the protein present in the raw rice husks. The concentrations of glucose (derived from starchy material) and arabinose (split from the xylan backbone) were fairly constant with severity. Even in treatments at low severity, high molecular weight compounds derived from xylan accounted for a limited part of the stoichiometric amount. Operating under harsh conditions, about 50% of the total xylan‐derived compounds corresponded to fractions with a degree of polymerization (DP) < 9. After refining, saccharides accounted for more than 90% of the non‐volatile components of the sample. Crude ethanol/ethyl acetate extracts of industrial evening primrose (Oenothera biennis L.) seed meal were separated into six fractions using the Sephadex LH‐20 column chromatography and 96% aqueous ethanol as a mobile phase. Their antioxidant activities were tested in sunflower and rapeseed oils by using an Oxidograph apparatus at a temperature of 110 °C. Only the fractions III and IV displayed a pronounced antioxidant activity while the other fractions were either inactive or even pro‐oxidative. The active fractions contained phenolic acids and their esters; gallic acid, methyl and ethyl gallates, protocatechuic acid and its methyl ester were identified by GC/MS. Catechin was present, too, but exhibited only moderate antioxidant activity in sunflower oil.  相似文献

BACKGROUND: Cytisus scoparius samples were processed with hot, compressed water (autohydrolysis treatments) to obtain both fiber‐containing solids (suitable as reinforcements for composites) and a liquid phase containing sugar oligomers derived from hemicelluloses. The solid phase from autohydrolysis, mainly made up of cellulose and lignin, was employed for manufacturing polylactic acid (PLA)‐based biodegradable composites. The mechanical properties, water uptake and thermal properties of composites were assessed. RESULTS: The hydrolysis of the major hemicellulose polysaccharide components of Cytisus scoparius was interpreted using kinetic models based on sequential pseudo‐homogeneous first‐order, irreversible reactions. Operating under non‐isothermal conditions, the autohydrolysis experiment carried out at up to 215 °C led to the maximum concentration of sugar oligomers (accounting for about 71% of the initial xylan). These compounds can be employed for a variety of purposes, including applications as prebiotics. Composites containing autohydrolyzed fibers presented both improved impact strength and reduced water absorption ability. CONCLUSIONS: Autohydrolysis of Cytisus scoparius led to a liquid phase containing xylooligosacharides with commercial value, and to a solid phase suitable as a reinforcement for PLA‐based composites with reduced water retention ability. 采用加速溶剂萃取技术(ASE)快速制备厚藤活性提取物,并以DPPH法对厚藤茎叶不同溶剂提取物抗氧化活性进行评价。抗坏血酸抗氧化能力乙酸乙酯提取物抗氧化能力乙醇提取物抗氧化能力甲醇提取物抗氧化能力石油醚提取物抗氧化能力,其IC50值分别为0.203 4、0.836 2、0.868 8、1.867 5、6.628 3 g/L。结果显示,厚藤茎叶提取物具有一定的抗氧化活性,且以乙酸乙酯为提取溶剂时,效果最佳。  相似文献

Four different antioxidant activity assays including 2,2′‐azino‐bis(3‐ethylbenzothiazoline‐6‐sulfonic acid (ABTS), 2,2‐diphenyl‐1‐picrylhydrazyl (DPPH), ferric reducing antioxidant power (FRAP) and oxygen radical absorption capacity (ORAC), and thiobarbituric acid reactive substances were performed on the methanolic and ethyl acetate extracts of Camelina seeds (CS), flaxseeds (FS), Camelina meal low fat (CMLF, 9.9% fat), Camelina meal high fat (CMHF, 24.6% fat), and flaxseed meal (FSM, 2.7% fat). In addition, the fatty acid profile, and phenolic, tocopherol, flavonoid, and glucosinolate contents of CS, FS, CMLF, CMHF, and FSM were studied. The major fatty acid was α‐linolenic acid (C18:3 n‐3) which was 33.2, 29.4, 30.2, 60.1, and 39.3% in CS, CMLF, CMHF, FS, and FSM, respectively. The methanolic extract of CMLF showed the highest values of ABTS, DPPH and FRAP and the highest content of phenolic compounds, flavonoids, and glucosinolates. The methanolic and ethylacetate extracts of CMHF showed the highest values for ORAC and α‐ and γ‐tocopherols. The ethylacetate extracts of seeds and meals of Camelina sativa and flax showed lower values for antioxidant activity, phenolic compounds, and flavonoids than the methanolic extracts. In general, Camelina and FS meals showed higher antioxidant activities, and phenolic and flavonoid contents than their respective seeds. Practical applications: Camelina sativa seeds (CS) and flaxseeds (FS) are rich sources of omega 3 oils. Their by‐products after oil extraction are an attractive source of proteins, lipids, fiber, and natural bioactive compounds such as antioxidants. These by‐products may be used to improve nutritional value and prevent lipid oxidation in feed or food systems.  相似文献

Freeze‐dried leaf, stem bark, and root bark powders of Aegiceras corniculatum were extracted with three different types of polar solvents: methanol, ethyl acetate, and water. The methanol extracts had the highest concentrations in total phenolics and extractable condensed tannins, followed by water and ethyl acetate extracts. Analysis by matrix‐assisted laser desorption/ionization time‐of‐flight mass spectrometry (MALDI‐TOF MS) suggested that condensed tannins from leaf, stem bark, and root bark contained prodelphinidins and procyanidins, with the predominance of prodelphinidins and high level of galloylation. Acid‐catalyzed degradation in the presence of benzyl mercaptan indicated that gallocatechin, epigallocatechin, epigallocatechin‐3‐O‐gallate, and epicatechin‐3‐O‐gallate occurred as the terminal units and (epi)gallocatechin, (epi)gallocatechin‐3‐O‐gallate, (epi)catechin, and (epi)catechin‐3‐O‐gallate occurred as the extension units. The mean degrees of polymerization (mDP) of condensed tannins from leaf, stem bark, and root bark were 13.5, 7.4, and 12.3, respectively. The condensed tannins from leaf and stem bark exhibited a higher DPPH radical scavenging activity and ferric reducing/antioxidant power compared to that of synthetic antioxidant butylated hydroxyanisole (BHA). © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Majorana syriaca is an important food‐flavouring ingredient in the Middle Eastern culture known commonly as Za'atar. The components of the plant were extracted in a Soxhlet apparatus sequentially with solvents of increasing polarity, specifically with petroleum ether (P), diethyl ether (D), ethyl acetate (EAc), and ethanol (E). The activity of the extracts to scavenge the 2,2‐diphenyl‐1‐picrylhydrazyl radical (DPPH?) followed the order D > E > EAc > P. Moreover, the antioxidant activity in corn oil at concentrations of 200, 500 and 1000 ppm was monitored through peroxide value and conjugated hydroperoxide measurements and revealed that D and E extracts resulted in the highest protection followed by EAc and P extracts. Increasing the concentration from 200 to 500 ppm depressed peroxide formation, while a further increase had no effect. The main components of the P extract according to GS‐MS analysis were thymol (42.89%) and carvacrol (42.75%). The remaining extracts comprise flavonoids and phenolic acids that provide the antiradical and antioxidant activity.  相似文献

The antioxidant activities of several extracts from Susabinori (Porphyra yezoensis) were measured by the ferric thiocyanate method and the thiobarbituric acid method. The methanol, acetone, ethyl acetate, and hexane extracts, and the chloroform-soluble and water-soluble fractions from the chloroform-methanol extract exhibited higher activities than α-tocopherol. The hot water extract showed little activity. Thin-layer chromatography analysis of the active extracts suggested the existence of several antioxidants. The activity of the chloroform soluble fraction was due to chlorophyll analogs. A strong antioxidant was isolated from the methanol extract, accompanied by several amino acids such as leucine and phenylalanine. This compound was identified as usujilene, a kind of mycosporine-glycine like amino acid.  相似文献

Oregano (Origanum vulgare L.) leaves were successively extracted with hexane, ethyl ether, ethyl acetate and ethanol. The ethanol extract was reextracted in a separatory funnel with petroleum ether, ethyl ether, ethyl acetate and butanol. The ethyl ether layer was the most effective in stabilizing lard against oxidation, with activity equal to butylated hydroxytoluene. It also showed antioxidant activity when tested on vegetable oils under storage or frying conditions. The main antioxidant factors isolated from the ethyl ether layer consisted of flavonoids. Chromatographic and spectrophotometric analysis demonstrated the presence of the flavone apigenin, the flavanone, eriodictyol and the dihydroflavonols, dihydrokaempferol and dihydroquercetin.  相似文献

Cajazeira leaves (Spondias mombin) have their highlighted use as antioxidant and natural antimicrobial, which justifies the objective of this work to evaluate the biological activities of different extracts. In order to evaluate the antioxidant and antimicrobial potentials of the cajazeira leaves, extractions at low pressure and high pressure were performed. The low pressure extractions (PLE) were carried out using Soxhlet (SOX) and tip ultrasound, using different solvents. Supercritical fluid extraction (SFE) was evaluated at temperature of 40?60°C and pressure of 150?300 bar besides extraction with cosolvent. Higher yields were obtained with the use of more polar solvents at LPE. The extracts obtained by SOX with ethanol and others polar solvents presented the best TPC values and antioxidant activity. The extracts at LPE with hexane and ethyl acetate and SFE presented better antimicrobial activity. Through liquid chromatography of high efficiency, it was possible to identify compounds with recognized biological activity, like ellagic acid, gallic acid and catechin.  相似文献

The total phenolic content and the antioxidant potential of methanolic extract (ME), ethyl acetate extract (EAE), and hexane extract (HE) from Monechma ciliatum leaves (MCL) were evaluated. The Folin-Ciocalteu, β-carotene bleaching, the 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging and the accelerated oxidation methods were used for evaluation. Both the extraction yield and the antioxidant activity (AOA) were strongly dependent on the solvent. Among the extracts, ME exhibited highest total phenolic compounds (TPC) and IC50 values for DPPH, followed by EAE and HE, respectively. Peroxide value (PV), anisidine value (AV) conjugated dienes (CD), and thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS) were taken as the parameters for evaluation of stabilization efficacy of MCL extracts and results revealed MCL to be a potent antioxidant for the stabilization of corn oil. As a general trend, increased AOA was observed for increased extract concentration. The predominant phenolic compounds identified by HPLC-DAD in MCL extracts were p-coumaric acid, vanillin and ferulic acid.  相似文献

BACKGROUND: Barley husks were subjected to non‐isothermal autohydrolysis of different severities, yielding a liquid phase rich in hemicellulose‐derived compounds and a solid phase, composed mainly of cellulose and lignin. This solid phase was subjected to enzymatic hydrolysis in order to assess the effects of severity on the susceptibility of substrates to enzymatic hydrolysis. The effects of the liquid to solid ratio (LSR, in the range 6 to 18 g g?1) and cellulase to substrate ratio (CSR, in the range 3.3 to 8.2 FPU g?1) on the enzymatic hydrolysis were assessed. RESULTS: Up to 25.8 g oligomers per 100 g raw material were present in liquors from the hydrothermal processing. Enzymatic hydrolysis of solid phases obtained under selected conditions (log Ro = 4.14, LSR = 6 g g?1 and CSR = 5.8 FPU g?1) yielded glucose concentrations up to 67 g L?1 (corresponding to cellulose to glucose conversions close to 100%). CONCLUSION: It was shown that autohydrolysis is an effective method for improving the enzymatic susceptibility of barley husks. High cellulose conversions resulting in high glucose yields were achieved by enzymatic hydrolysis at low LSR and CSR. 采用清除二苯代苦味肼基(DPPH)自由基、清除[2,2′-连氨-(3-乙基苯并噻唑啉-6-磺酸)二氨盐](ABTS)自由基及铁离子还原/抗氧化能力(FRAP)测定法,对核桃仁提取物进行抗氧化活性评价,并与阳性对照没食子酸丙酯(PG)、丁基羟基茴香醚(BHA)和二丁基羟基甲苯(BHT)进行比较。在核桃仁提取物中,乙酸乙酯提取物清除DPPH和ABTS自由基的能力(IC50值分别为1.58 mg/L和1.69 mg/L)强于BHA(IC50值分别为3.43 mg/L和1.72 mg/L)和BHT(IC50值分别为18.79 mg/L和6.04 mg/L),弱于PG(IC50值分别为0.86 mg/L和0.66 mg/L);乙酸乙酯提取物还原Fe3+的能力最强〔FRAP值为(13212.99±55.35)μmol TE/g〕,强于PG〔FRAP值为(10617.75±138.38)μmol TE/g〕、BHA〔FRAP值为(7383.10±121.08)μmol TE/g〕和BHT〔FRAP值为(1748.49±3.46)μmol TE/g〕;核桃仁正丁醇提取物清除DPPH和ABTS自由基的能力(IC50值分别为4.94和1.90 mg/L)以及还原Fe3+的能力〔FRAP值为(2299.99±27.68)μmol TE/g〕强于BHT。结果表明,核桃仁乙酸乙酯和正丁醇提取物都具有很好的抗氧化活性,且乙酸乙酯提取物活性强于正丁醇提取物。  相似文献

Antioxidant activities of methanol extracts of 180 Oriental herbs were studied by determining the peroxide values of linoleic acid during storage at 50°C. Among the herb extracts tested, 44 species showed strong antioxidant activities on the oxidation of linoleic acid. The antioxidative effects of these 44 selected herb extracts were studied further in a methyl linoleate system during storage for 35 d. Among the 44 species tested, 11 species had particularly high antioxidative effects. The effects of type of extraction solvent (methanol, petroleum ether and ethyl acetate) on the antioxidant activities of the 11 species were studied. Antioxidant activities of most herb extracts were greatly dependent on the extraction solvent used; however, some of the extracts showed strong antioxidant activities regardless of the solvents used for the extraction. Among the 11 herbs selected, based on the antioxidant activity of their methanol extracts, two (i.e.,Psoralea corylifolia L. andSorphora angustifolia Sieb. & Zucc.) were selected for further study in lard held at 75°C for 7 d. The methanol extracts ofP. corylifolia L. andS. angustifolia Sieb. & Zucc. greatly decreased the peroxide formation of lard during storage. Treatment with 0.20% methanolic extract ofP. corylifolia L. exhibited significantly stronger antioxidant effect on the oxidation of lard than treatment with 0.02% butylated hydroxyanisole (P<0.05).  相似文献

将海南核果木干燥枝叶用乙醇浸提,对总提物分别用石油醚、乙酸乙酯、正丁醇萃取,并以DPPH法和FRAP法对总提物及各萃取物的抗氧化活性进行评价。结果显示,在DPPH法中海南核果木总提物(DH)、石油醚萃取物(DHMSO)、乙酸乙酯萃取物(DHEtOAC)、正丁醇萃取物(DHNBA)、水相(DHH2O)的IC50分别为77.3、115.2、51.4、342.9、205.7 mg/L,其FRAP值分别为(11 712.2±931.8)、(10 820.9±690.5)、(14 386.4±568.8)、(1 157.6±63.3)、(5 584.1±182.3)μmol Fe2+/g。且抗坏血酸(Vc)和BHT的IC50分别为10.7、47.1mg/L,FRAP值分别为(18 022.8±63.3)、(14 568.7±137.0)μmol Fe2+/g,并通过多元聚类分析表明DH、DHMSO、DHEtOAC与BHT、Vc具有类似强度的抗氧化活性,可归为同一类型,且DHEtOAC抗氧化活性与BHT无显著性差异,说明其粗提物具有较强的抗氧化活性。  相似文献

The antioxidant activity of different Satureja montana L. subsp. kitaibelii extracts was tested by measuring their ability to scavenge reactive hydroxyl radical during the Fenton reaction, using ESR spectroscopy. Also, the influence of these extracts on lipid peroxyl radicals obtained during lipid peroxidation of: (I) sunflower oil (37 ºC, 3h) induced by 4,4′-azobis(4-cyanovaleric acid) (ACVA) and (II) liposomes induced by 2,2′-azobis(2- amidino-propane)dihydrochloride (AAPH) was studied. n-Butanol extract had the best antioxidant activity (100% at 0.5 mg/mL in Fenton reaction system; 89.21% at 5 mg/mL in system I; 83.38% at 5 mg/mL in system II). The antioxidant activities of the extracts significantly correlated with total phenolic content. The antimicrobial activity of Satureja montana L. subsp. kitaibelii extracts was investigated. Petroleum ether, chloroform and ethyl acetate extracts expressed a wide range of inhibiting activity against both grampositive and gram-negative bacteria.  相似文献

采用清除二苯代苦味酰基(DPPH)自由基、清除[2,2′-连氨-(3-乙基苯并噻唑啉-6-磺酸)]二氨盐(ABTS)自由基和铁离子还原/抗氧化能力(FRAP)测定法对其挥发油和不同提取物进行抗氧化活性的研究。结果表明,生苍术乙酸乙酯提取物具有很好的抗氧化活性(DPPH方法:IC50=6.03μg/mL;ABTS方法:IC50=3.59μg/mL;FRAP方法:FRAP值=3186.67μmolTE/g),麸炒之后,其抗氧化活性显著下降。因而苍术抗氧化应生用。  相似文献

Rape bee pollen lipids obtained by petrol ether extraction (PEE) or supercritical fluid (carbon dioxide) extraction (SFE) were compared with regard to their free fatty acid (FFA) components. Optimal SFE conditions were selected by carrying out the Taguchi method with an OA9 (33) matrix design, and are as follows: extraction pressure at 35 MPa, temperature at 45 °C, and dynamic extraction time at 90 min. The lipid yield based on PEE was 7.42 wt‐% and the extracts of the desired analytes based on SFE varied in the range of 3.23–5.58 wt‐% under different conditions. With the optimized procedure, the lipid yield was 6.09 wt‐%. The FFA in the lipids were separated with a pre‐column derivation method and 1‐[2‐(p‐toluenesulfonate) ethyl]‐2‐phenylimidazole [4,5‐f]9,10‐phenanthrene as labeling regent, followed by high‐pressure liquid chromatography (HPLC) with fluorescence detection. HPLC analysis shows that the lipids contain abundant unsaturated fatty acids (UFA) in high to low concentrations as follows: linolenic acid (18:3), oleic acid (18:1), linoleic acid (18:2), nervonic acid (24:1), and lignoceric acid (20:4). The UFA contents in the SFE extracts were higher than those after PEE. The results indicated that SFE under suitable conditions is more selective than conventional PEE with regard to lipid extraction and preservation of their quality.  相似文献

This study focused on the biological evaluation and chemical characterization of Geranium pyrenaicum Burm. f. Different solvent extracts (hexane, ethyl acetate, methanol, and water extracts) were prepared. The phytochemical profile, antioxidant, and enzyme inhibitory activity were investigated. Cytotoxicity was assessed using VERO, FaDu, HeLa and RKO cells. The antiviral activity was carried out against HSV-1 (Herpes simplex virus 1) propagated in VERO cell line. The aqueous extract, possessing high phenolic content (170.50 mg gallic acid equivalent/g extract), showed the highest reducing capacity (613.27 and 364.10 mg Trolox equivalent/g extract, for cupric reducing antioxidant capacity and ferric reducing antioxidant power, respectively), radical scavenging potential (469.82 mg Trolox equivalent/g extract, against 2,2′-azino-bis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid)), metal chelating ability (52.39 mg ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid equivalent/g extract) and total antioxidant capacity (3.15 mmol Trolox equivalent/g extract). Liquid chromatography-electrospray ionization-quadrupole time-of-flight-mass spectrometry (LC-ESI-QTOF-MS/MS) alloved to tentatively identify a total of 56 compounds in the extracts, including ellagitannins, gallic acid and galloyl derivatives amongst others. The ethyl acetate extracts substantially depressed cholinesterase enzymes (4.49 and 12.26 mg galantamine equivalent/g extract against AChE and BChE, respectively) and α-amylase enzyme (1.04 mmol acarbose equivalent/g extract). On the other hand, the methanolic extract inhibited tyrosinase (121.42 mg kojic acid equivalent/g extract) and α-glucosidase (2.39 mmol acarbose equivalent/g extract) activities. The highest selectivity towards all cancer cell lines (SI 4.5–10.8) was observed with aqueous extract with the FaDu cells being the most sensitive (CC50 40.22 µg/mL). It can be concluded that the presence of certain bioactive antiviral molecules may be related to the high anti HSV-1 activity of the methanolic extract. This work has generated vital scientific data on this medicinal plant, which is a prospective candidate for the creation of innovative phyto-pharmaceuticals.  相似文献
