In this article, a novel reconfigurable bandpass filter with tunable passband edge and bandwidth is proposed. The bandpass filter enables the two band edges independently adjustable to meet the needs of different systems. The wide tuning range of the bandwidth is achieved by controlling the tuning mechanism to altering not only the coupling strength of the coupled lines but also the transmission zeroes positions of the resonator. The lower passband edge can shifts from 760 to 840 MHz with the upper passband edge keeping still and the upper edge of the passbands from 981 to 1107 MHz with the lower edge keeping still. The overall tuning range of 3 dB fractional bandwidth is from 15.5% to 36%. The upper stopband attenuation of the fabricated structure can reach to 40 dB within a wide frequency range.  相似文献

This paper proposes a signal feedback interference topology to control the characteristics of a coupled line bandpass filter. Control is carried out by varying the ratio of the transmission line parameters of the forward and the feedback couplers. The topology produces a compact filter that does not require a complicated design or fabrication. The results of the insertion and return losses show that the feedback‐controlled design has desirable features in terms of the design frequency, fractional bandwidth, stopband rejection level, roll‐off rate and insertion loss. The test results of the fabricated prototype achieved good agreement with the simulation results of the ideal transmission line design model. Several microwave, modern wireless and mobile/satellite communication systems may benefit from such a filter design due to its compactness and flexibility.  相似文献

This article presents a novel bandpass filter (BPF) using two proximity‐coupled dual‐behavior resonators (DBRs). The employed DBR is implemented by a single shunt stub with the compact microstrip resonator cell at its open end instead of the traditional dual stubs in cross‐shape. Due to the adoptions of the proposed DBR and proximity‐coupling scheme, both the transverse and longitudinal dimensions of the proposed BPF are reduced significantly. To verify the proposed idea, a demonstration microstrip BPF is designed and fabricated, and good agreement between the simulated and measured results can be observed, showing low loss and high selectivity due to four transmission zeroes in the stopband.  相似文献

A wideband composite right/left handed transmission line (CRLH TL) in conjunction with its corresponding equivalent circuit model is studied based on a cascaded complementary single split ring resonator (CCSSRR).The characterization is performed by theory analysis, circuit simulation, and full-wave electromagnetic (EM) simulation. The negative refractive index (NRI) and backward wave propagation performance of the CRLH TL are demonstrated. For application,a bandpass filter (BPF) with enhanced out-of-band selectivity and harmonic suppression operating at the wireless local area network (WLAN) band is designed, fabricated, and measured by combining the CRLH TL with a complementary electric inductive-capacitive resonator (CELC).Three CELC cells with wideband stopband performance in the conductor strip and ground plane, respectively, are utilized in terms of single negative permeability. The design concept has been verified by the measurement data.  相似文献

A Compact Dual Band‐Bandpass Filter (DB‐BPF) with wide stopband rejection is proposed in this article. The basic tools used in the structure are Short Circuited Stepped Impedance Resonators (SCSIR), Open Stub Resonators (OSR). First, a Single Band‐Bandpass Filter (SB‐BPF) is designed with wide stopband rejection, and then it is modified to DB‐BPF. Both the SB‐BPF and DB‐BPFs have similar type of construction except for an additional SCSIRs used in DB filter. The structure of the filters, use the source‐load coupling and OSR to generate transmission zeros, which suppresses harmonics and achieves wide stopband. The use of SCSIRs make the SB and DB bandpass filters size compact to 0.099λg×0.094λg and 0.118λg×0.092λg, where λg is guided wavelength with a wide stopband upto 6.85f0 with 22 dB suppression for SB‐BPF and 2.78f1/7.57f0 with 22 dB suppression for DB‐BPF, where f0 and f1 are centre frequencies of first and second passbands respectively.  相似文献

In this article, a novel dual‐band differential bandpass filter using (SIRs) is designed. To demonstrate the design ideas, the differential and common mode equivalent half circuits are built and studied. Two resistors are connected between the two ends of the SIRs to consume the power in common mode. A capacitor is connected between the Ground and Center of the SIR to adjust the spurious frequencies, also strength the coupling of the two SIRs. The theoretical analysis shows the second band can be obtained by the proper impedance ratios of the resonances and the capacitor connected to the resonator. Two through ground vias (TGVs) connecting the top and bottom sides of the SIR filter, are used to realize the common mode rejection. To investigate the proposed filter in detail, a set of design equations are derived based on the circuit theory and transmission line theory. A phototype dual‐band differential filter operating at 1.5 and 2.75 GHz has been realized to validate the proposed concept and theory. © 2015 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A novel multistubs loaded resonator (MSLR) is proposed in this article, which is constructed by several open‐ and short‐circuited stubs. The analysis shows that it is characterized by four resonant modes. Then, the MSLR is applied in the design of a compact ultra‐wideband (UWB) bandpass filter. The measured results show that its 3dB bandwidth can cover [3.0, 11.5] GHz, that is, 3 dB fractional bandwidth is 117%, and the return loss within the passband is greater than 15 dB. Especially, the roll‐off rate is higher than 33 dB/GHz and more than 40 dB harmonic suppression can be achieved up to 17 GHz. In order to suppress the interference of some undesired narrowband signal such as wireless local‐area network (WLAN) radio signal, a notched band is created for the UWB bandpass filter, which is realized by forming one stepped slot on each of the feedlines, respectively. The measured results show that a notched band with 2.01% fractional bandwidth at the center frequency of 5.85 GHz can be achieved and its suppression is about ?19 dB.  相似文献

This article reports a novel bandpass filter using modified half mode substrate integrated waveguide technique. The via‐fences are deployed as impedance inverters for the proposed filter to reduce its footprints, which are extracted by using a full‐wave electromagnetic simulator HFSS for the filter design. Detailed design procedure is discussed. A bandpass filter having a center frequency of 10.03 GHz and a pass band from 9.78 to 10.3 GHz is designed for demonstration, and experiments are carried out for the validation. Good agreements between experiment and simulated results are obtained, which show that the proposed filter has a compact size, a low insertion loss, and a high selectivity. It is attractive for the radio communication system. © 2014 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Int J RF and Microwave CAE 25:277–281, 2015.  相似文献

A high selectivity wide passband filter with a broader stopband based on transversal signal‐interaction concepts and modified branch line structure (MBLS) is developed in this article. Two transmission paths, that is, one half‐wavelength transmission line and one MBLS, are used to realize signal transmission from Port 1 to Port 2. Then, two transmission zeros are introduced at both lower and upper sides of the passband, which are used to improve the passband selectivity greatly. The filter bandwidth can be easily controlled by reasonable adjusting the coupling coefficient of the coupled lines. Furthermore, with four stubs connected at the input/output ports, the stopband attenuation level is improved greatly. Finally, one prototype filter having 69.1% of 3 dB fractional bandwidth is fabricated with advantages of sharp selectivity and high out‐of‐band rejection. The EM simulated and measured results are presented, and an excellent agreement can be obtained. © 2014 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Int J RF and Microwave CAE 25:330–336, 2015.  相似文献

This paper presents a wideband bandpass filter design based on a short‐circuited circular patch resonator with inductively loaded slots. The cavity model method is used to analyze the excited resonances of the resonator. According to the illustration of the cavity model, the TM010 mode is excited as the fundamental mode, the resonant frequency of which is much lower than that of the TM110 mode and can be further lowered by the loaded arc‐oriented slots. Therefore, the proposed resonator can be used to design a filter with compact size. In addition, one of the two orthogonal degenerate TM110 modes can be independently tuned by the slot along the symmetric plane without affecting the TM010 mode. Since the resonant frequency of each mode can be tuned independently by the parameters of the slots, and the coupling between resonant modes of the resonator and source/load can be adjusted by the feeding angle and the capacitive loaded stubs on the feeding lines, the center frequencies and bandwidths of the designed bandpass filters can be tuned easily. The analysis is theoretically and experimentally verified by two examples with good agreement between the simulated and measured results.  相似文献

A 3D stereoscopic head‐up display using a tunable bandpass filter to perform left and right image spectral separation is presented. Using a single filter reduces the size and the cost of the head‐up display optical engine and enables each spectral band to be accurately tuned. Experiments performed on the first prototype demonstrate the ability to continuously tune the bandpass frequency on 30‐nm range while keeping a 20‐nm bandwidth. Such a system avoids the use of a bulky and costly rotating wheel and enables the use of holographic optical elements known to be wavelength selective.  相似文献

A new multimode resonator (MMR) using composite right‐/left‐handed transmission line (CRLH TL) is proposed and discussed. The CRLH TL structure is constructed by cascading interdigital coupled microstrip line sections on which short‐ended stepped impedance stubs are loaded. Dispersion characteristic of the transmission line structure is obtained using the Bloch–Floquet theory. The resonator, which has multiresonances electrical behaviors, is especially suitable in ultrawideband (UWB) applications. An UWB filter is presented as an illustration. With transmission zeros introduced at upper stopband, the filter has a sharp skirt performance. In addition, rejection level at lower stopband also gets enhanced due to direct current suppression effects of the multimode resonator. The filter prototype is implemented and measured. The measured results validate the theoretical analysis and show that the filter has a sharp skirt and an out‐of‐band rejection level as good as 38 dB. Meanwhile, return loss is better than 16 dB. © 2015 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Int J RF and Microwave CAE 25:815–824, 2015.  相似文献

In this article, a compact dual‐band bandpass filter (BPF) is developed using a hybrid resonant structure, which consists of a microstrip stub‐loaded dual‐mode resonator and a slotline stub‐loaded dual‐mode resonator. These two resonators, both having two controllable resonant modes and one transmission zero (TZ), are analyzed and used to construct two desired passbands of a dual‐band BPF. Multiple TZs are generated by introducing a source‐load coupling, thus improving the selectivity of the passbands. Then, the dual‐band BPF is reshaped to configure a compact diplexer. The inherent TZs of the two proposed resonators are designed to improve the frequency property and port isolation of the diplexer. Finally, a dual‐band BPF and a diplexer with the lower and upper passbands centered at 2.45 and 3.45 GHz, respectively, are designed, fabricated, and measured to verify the proposed structure and method.  相似文献

This article presents two novel resonators, that is, frequency selecting coupling structure loaded stepped‐impedance resonator (FSCSLSIR) and π‐section loaded FSCSLSIR. The resonator behaviors and guidelines are given to design FSCSLSIR dual‐band bandpass filter (BPF) and π‐section loaded FSCSLSIR triband BPF. The proposed dual‐ and triband BPF have very compact sizes of 0.13 λgd × 0.06 λgd and 0.115 λgt × 0.074 λgt, respectively. Moreover, good return loss, low insertion loss, and high band‐to‐band isolation can be observed, and the proposed FSCSLSIR dual‐band BPF has an ultrawide stopband from 5.79 to 36 GHz. The experimental results are in good agreement with the simulations. © 2014 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Int J RF and Microwave CAE 25:427–435, 2015.  相似文献

Based on the microstrip‐line/slot‐line hybrid transmission structure, a novel method of realizing dual‐wideband differential bandpass filter (DDBPF) is proposed and demonstrated in this paper. By virtue of hybrid transmission structure, the proposed DDBPF has intrinsic common mode (CM) rejection. Moreover, the dual‐wideband transmission performance of differential mode (DM) signal can be approached by using two dual‐mode stub‐loaded stepped‐impedance resonators. The two passbands of the proposed DDBPF are respectively centered at 2.76 GHz and 4.12 GHz which fractional bandwidths are 20.7% and 11.4%. The DM harmonic suppression can extend to 43.5 GHz with rejection level of 13 dB. The CM attenuation of DDBPF can reach 60 dB within DM passband. Furthermore, the CM suppression with attenuation level of 20 dB is ranging from 0.5 GHz to 43.5 GHz. The measurement results are in good agreement with the simulation results, which validates the effectiveness of proposed design methodology.  相似文献

The purpose of this paper is to present a tri-band bandpass filter (BPF) with compact structure. This filter consists of 50 Ω transmission line, varactor diode, positive-intrinsic-negative (PIN) diode, symmetrical square-shaped half-loop resonator pair, and three pairs of rectangular half circle that a T-stub is placed in it. By using the add PIN and varactor diodes in the proposed structure, it is possible to connect and disconnect each band, and change the central frequency up to 400 MHz. In addition, there is a situation to disconnect and connect all three bands simultaneously and asynchronously (unconditionally). This filter contains a low ripple value in all three bands. In this regard, the maximum ripple value does not exceed 0.3 dB and rejection is greater than 25 dB in total stop-band. An experimental tri-band BPF has been developed for wireless fidelity, wireless local area network, and worldwide interoperability for microwaves access applications. The measured results are properly accommodated with simulated results.  相似文献

A wideband wide stopband filter is designed using asymmetric stepped‐impedance resonators (ASIRs) connected to a large open stub. The capacitive open stub and the parallel‐coupled microstrip line are used to achieve the strong couplings for large fractional bandwidth (FBW). For a wide‐stopband performance, the proposed filter uses ASIRs to improve the high‐order spurious resonant frequency. The first and last resonators of the proposed filter are further optimized to suppress the spurious resonant frequency caused by open stub. The final filter has a 70% FBW centered at 4.87 GHz with 20‐dB‐rejection stopband up to 15.78 GHz (approximately 3.24 f0). The measured insertion loss is less than 0.15 dB and the return loss is better than 17 dB.  相似文献

This study presents a wideband bandpass filter (WBBPF) with wide and high stopband suppression by loading a stepped‐impedance resonator (SIR). The prototype of WBBPF is composed of an inverted π‐shaped resonator with T‐shaped resonator and open stub loaded, centrally. Odd‐/even‐mode analysis technique is employed to characterize the resonant properties of this prototype. Then, a SIR is loaded to this filter, asymmetrically, to improve the out‐of‐band performance. For experimental validation, a WBBPF is designed, fabricated, and tested. The measurement results show that the center frequency of WBBPF is located at 5.095 GHz, and the 3‐dB fraction bandwidth is about 71%. Plus, the out‐of‐band suppression with 30‐dB rejection level can be extended to 18.17 GHz.  相似文献

This article proposes a microstrip dual‐band bandpass filter that uses parallel‐connected open‐loop ring resonators. Compared to many microstrip dual‐band filters, the advantages of using microstrip open‐loop ring resonators are easy calculation (half‐guided‐wavelength), easy fabrication (equal width for all 50‐Ω lines and without grounding holes), and direct connection to external feed lines (reducing insertion loss caused by gap couplings). Another advantage of the filter is an asymmetrical feed on the ring resonator that provides sharp rejections at its adjacent bands. The input and output matches of resonators to the external feed lines are derived using a simple transmission‐line theory. The results of the derivation provide a simple design rule for filter designers. Simulated and measured results are presented with good agreement. The filter has minimum insertion loss of 1.25 dB at 1.85 GHz and 1.6 dB at 2.33 GHz. The 3‐dB fractional bandwidths are 5.9% for the 1.9‐GHz bandpass filter and 4.7% for the 2.4‐GHz bandpass filter, respectively. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
