This paper provides a new delay-dependent stability criterion for systems with a delay varying in an interval. With a different Lyapunov functional defined, a tight upper bound of its derivative is given. The resulting criterion has advantages over some previous ones in that it involves fewer matrix variables but has less conservatism, which is established theoretically. Examples are provided to demonstrate the advantage of the stability result. 相似文献

This paper investigates robust stability of uncertain linear systems with interval time-varying delay. The time-varying delay is assumed to belong to an interval and is a fast time-varying function. The uncertainty under consideration includes polytopic-type uncertainty and linear fractional norm-bounded uncertainty. A new Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional, which makes use of the information of both the lower and upper bounds of the interval time-varying delay, is proposed to drive some new delay-dependent stability criteria. In order to obtain much less conservative results, a tighter bounding for some term is estimated. Moreover, no redundant matrix variable is introduced. Finally, three numerical examples are given to show the effectiveness of the proposed stability criteria. 相似文献

This paper considers the robust delay-dependent stability problem of a class of linear uncertain system with interval time-varying delay and proposes less conservative stability criteria for computing the maximum allowable bound of the delay range. Less conservatism of the proposed stability criteria is attributed to the delay-central point method of stability analysis, wherein the delay interval is partitioned into two subintervals of equal length, and the time derivative of a candidate Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional based on delay decomposition technique is evaluated in each of these delay segments. In deriving the stability conditions in LMI framework, neither model transformations nor bounding techniques using free-weighting matrix variables are employed for dealing the cross-terms that emerge from the time derivative of the Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional; instead, they are dealt using tighter integral inequalities. The proposed analysis subsequently yields a stability condition in convex LMI framework that can be solved using standard numerical packages. For deriving robust stability conditions, two categories of system uncertainties, namely, time-varying structured and polytopic-type uncertainties, are considered. The effectiveness of the proposed stability criteria is validated through standard numerical examples. 相似文献

This paper is concerned with the problem of absolute stability of time‐delay Lur'e systems with sector‐bounded nonlinearity. Several novel criteria are presented by using a Lur'e–Postnikov function. For a general Lur'e system with known time delay, the absolute stability of it is analyzed by solving a set of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). The maximum upper bound of the allowable time delay for a general Lur'e system is derived by solving a convex optimization problem. The feasibility of the LMIs implies some frequency‐domain interpretations which are similar to the frequency‐domain inequalities in the circle criterion and the Popov criterion. Sufficient conditions ensuring that a nonlinear system with disturbances having a delay is globally asymptotically stable independent of delay are given. The proof carried out relies extensively on a characterization of the stability property in terms of Lyapunov function. The result is applied to some biological systems and neural networks. By using the S-procedure and the Park's inequality in the recent issue, a delay-dependent robust stability criterion which is less conservative than the previous results has been derived for time-delay systems with time-varying structured uncertainties. This paper deals with the problem of delay-dependent robust stability for systems with time-varying structured uncertainties and time-varying delays. Some new delay-dependent stability criteria are devised by taking the relationship between the terms in the Leibniz-Newton formula into account. Since free weighting matrices are used to express this relationship and since appropriate ones are selected by means of linear matrix inequalities, the new criteria are less conservative than existing ones. This paper is concerned with the problem of comparisons among robust stability criteria for a class of uncertain linear systems, where the system state matrices considered are affinely dependent on the uncertain parameters. At first, a robust stability criterion for the class of systems to be affinely quadratically stable (AQS) is derived based on the vertex separator approach, where affine parameter-dependent Lyapunov functions are exploited to prove stability. Then comparison results between the robust stability criterion and the existing tests for AQS are given in terms of degree of conservatism. In this paper, we investigate the use of two-term piecewise quadratic Lyapunov functions for robust stability of linear time-varying systems. By using the so-called S-procedure and a special variable reduction method, we provide numerically efficient conditions for the robust asymptotic stability of the linear time-varying systems involving the convex combinations of two matrices. This paper is concerned with the delay-dependent robust stability problem for uncertain linear systems with interval time-varying delay. The time-varying delay is assumed to belong to an interval and no restriction on the derivative of the time-varying delay is needed, which allows the delay to be a fast time-varying function. The uncertainty under consideration is norm-bounded, and possibly time-varying, uncertainty. Based on the Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional approach, a stability criterion is derived by introducing some relaxation matrices that can be used to reduce the conservatism of the criteria. ABSTRACT In this paper, asymptotic stability problems of linear time-varying (LTV) systems on time scales are considered based on a less conservative Lyapunov inequality, whose right side is not required to be necessarily negative. It is shown that the Lyapunov inequality covers not only the corresponding trivial (continuous and discrete) ones but also nontrivial ones. Based on this inequality, some necessary and sufficient conditions for asymptotic stability, exponential stability, uniformly exponential stability of LTV systems on time scales are obtained. This paper is concerned with the stability analysis for systems with time-varying delay in a range. An appropriate type of Lyapunov functionals is proposed to investigate the delay-range-dependent stability problem. The present results may improve the existing ones due to a method to estimate the upper bound of the derivative of Lyapunov functional without ignoring some useful terms and the introduction of additional terms into the proposed Lyapunov functional, which take into account the range of delay.
