The receiving performance of mobile antenna systems that have vertical and horizontal elements at the 920-MHz band has been investigated by measurements in both rural and urban areas in Japan. Three types of inverted-F antennas for a car and three types of antenna elements, a monopole, a bent-slot and an inverted-F antenna, for portable equipment were used in the experiments. The average received power and its probability density function are obtained as the parameter to evaluate the performance of antenna systems. The performances of the bent-slot antenna system for portable equipment and the inverted-F antenna system mounted on a car are compared with those of the monopole or dipole antenna systems used as reference antennas. A notable increase in the average received power has been observed in operation in an urban area where the field distributes randomly and consists of cross-polarized components  相似文献

The receiving performance of UHF portable equipment with a bent-slot antenna is studied on the basis of experimental results. The received power increase in the experiment is analyzed by applying the ray and random models to urban area structures. The analysis shows that the bent-slot antenna designed with both vertical and horizontal polarization components has contributed to an increase in received power for some limited angles of wave incidence, as a result of combined reception of cross-polarized waves in an actual environment.  相似文献

A review of the finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method is presented and then employed to model and predict the radiation patterns of three basic configurations of mobile antennas. The directive gain and the input impedance are also calculated. The antennas' configurations considered are a quarter-wavelength monopole mounted on a conducting box, a bent-slot half-wavelength dipole flush mounted on a conducting box, and a quarter-wavelength monopole mounted on the top of an automobile. Three-feed models are discussed and the contour integral is used to model the wire antenna. Transformation of the near field data, resulting from the FDTD, to obtain the radiation patterns is discussed based on the equivalence principle. The radiation patterns obtained using the FDTD compare well with published results  相似文献

该文研究了一种工作在Ka波段共面波导(CPW)馈电缝隙耦合的蝶形贴片天线。耦合缝隙位于接地板上,而不需要额外的缝隙耦合层,使天线更易与电路相集成。耦合缝隙的存在改变了接地板上原有表面电流的分布,使电流沿着缝隙边缘流动,因此馈线与辐射源的电磁耦合效率得到提高。用有限元分析软件(Ansoft HFSS)对衬底厚度、贴片角度、耦合缝隙大小等参数变化时的天线性能进行了仿真。比较并分析了S11,增益等天线性能参数的变化规律,并在带宽最优的条件下给出了一组参数值,此时天线的工作频率为35.5GHz,带宽为1.22GHz,增益为6.38dB。  相似文献

随着卫星移动通信技术的发展,一种能适合机载和地面移动载体卫星通信的天线越来越受到人们的青睐。该种天线要求具有宽频带、圆极化和电扫描跟踪等特性。矩形腔十字裂缝天线就是这种天线理想的辐射单元之一。基于矩量法的分析途径,本文提出了计算矩形腔十字裂缝天线的数值方法,给出天线单元的输入阻抗、增益和轴比等辐射特性的数值结果,并进行了实验实证。理论和实验结果有着很好的一致性。  相似文献

In this paper, new methods for further reducing the size and/or increasing the bandwidth (BW) of a class of miniaturized slot antennas are presented. This paper examines techniques such as parasitic coupling and inductive loading to achieve higher BW and further size reduction for this class of miniaturized slot antennas. The overall BW of a proposed double resonant antenna is shown to be increased by more than 94% compared with a single resonant antenna occupying the same area. The behavior of miniaturized slot antennas, loaded with series inductive elements along the radiating section is also examined. The inductive loads are constructed by two balanced short circuited slot lines placed on opposite sides of the radiating slot. These inductive loads can considerably reduce the antenna size at its resonance. Prototypes of a double resonant antenna at 850 MHz and inductively loaded miniaturized antennas at around 1 GHz are designed and tested. Finally the application of both methods in a dual band miniaturized antenna is presented. In all cases measured and simulated results show excellent agreement.  相似文献

The rectangular cavity backed slot is excited by a current source connected across its center. The longitudinal voltage variation across the slot is obtained from the variational solution of an integral equation. For shallow and narrow cavities the slot appears inductive and the voltage is rapidly attenuated along the slots. The slot may resonate for deeper and/or wider cavities, when the voltage along the slot is approximated by a half-cycle of a sine wave. The resonant cavity depth and the antenna bandwidth are examined for various cavity and Slot parameters. Dielectric cavity loading is shown to decrease both the resonant cavity depth and the antenna bandwidth.  相似文献

The far-field radiation patterns of a two-dimensional (2-D) periodic slot leaky-wave antenna (LWA) are studied. The antenna consists of a two-dimensional periodic array of slots in a conducting plane that is printed on top of a grounded dielectric slab. The antenna is excited by a simple source such as a dipole inside the slab. Reciprocity along with the spectral-domain method is used to calculate the far-field pattern, and the radiation characteristics of the structure are investigated. A comparison between the present periodic slot LWA and a 2-D periodic patch LWA discussed in Part I is given to show the advantages of the slot antenna for certain applications. The slot LWA can achieve high directivity patterns, and a circularly-polarized version of the antenna can achieve good circular-polarization at broadside.  相似文献

A compact frequency notched microstrip slot antenna for ultra-wideband (UWB) /2.4 GHz-band wireless local area network (WLAN) applications is proposed. The antenna is similar to a conventional microstrip slot antenna; however, by introducing a cross wide slot and a meandered-slotted stub, both compact size and frequency notched function can be achieved. It has been studied both numerically and experi- mentally for its impedance bandwidth, surface current distribution, radiation patterns, and gain. As will be seen, an operation bandwidth of over 4.61 ranging from 2.39 to 11.25 GHz for return loss lower than having a frequency notched band ranging from 4.75 to 5.85 GHz has been achieved, and good radiation performance over the entire frequency range has also been achieved.  相似文献

A novel miniaturized cavity-backed composite slot loop antenna (CBCSLA) with low profile and omnidirectional radiation similar to a short dipole is presented. The antenna displays vertical polarization while having less than lambda/100 dimension in height. The geometry of the antenna is inspired from a small magnetic loop which is realized using a slot configuration on metallic ground. Since a small slot loop antenna cannot be impedance matched, a composite geometry is devised that acts like as a small slot loop and can easily be impedance matched using this configuration. The diameter of the CBCSLA can be made as small as lambda/10 or smaller. The feeding mechanism is designed in a manner to create a circumferentially-constant current distribution around the composite loop while effectively matching to a 50 Omega coaxial feed from the antenna center. Additional methods are discussed to further enhance the bandwidth and achieve a dual-band response. The antennas are designed, fabricated, and measured. It is shown that despite their small lateral dimension and extremely small height, the miniaturized cavity-backed slot loop features extremely well input impedance match, uniform radiation pattern, low cross-polarization levels and expected gain.  相似文献

The hemispherical cavity-backed slot antenna is studied theoretically and experimentally. The exact magnetic field Green's function of the cavity is derived rigorously and expressed in a form convenient for numerical computation. The moment method is used to find the equivalent magnetic current in the slot and, hence, the input impedance of the antenna configuration. The effects of the cavity size, of the slot length, and of the slot offset on the input impedance are studied and very good agreement between theory and experiment is obtained. The variation of the magnetic current around the slot and cavity resonances are discussed. Comparisons between the rigorous solution and the single-mode theory are given and the limitation of the single-mode theory is discussed  相似文献

A bow-tie slot antenna fed by CPW is introduced. It is designed to work in the Ku-band around 15.5 GHz. The proposed antenna is analysed both theoretically and experimentally. The presented results include the return loss and the radiation patterns. Two different geometries of the bow-tie antenna are presented and compared. The proposed antenna has several advantages such as a very large bandwidth, good control of its input impedance, and ease of fabrication. The proposed antenna has a dipole like radiation pattern which makes it suitable for mobile communication systems designed to work in the Ku-band  相似文献

The analysis of a periodically slotted dielectrically filled parallel-plate waveguide as a leaky-wave antenna for infinite and finite periodic structures for the E-polarization case is discussed. For the analysis of the infinite periodic structure, an integral equation in which Floquet's modes and the strip electric current satisfying the edge condition are used and Bloch wave analysis using the single-slot equivalent circuit parameters are employed. An integro-differential equation with moment-method and transmission-line analysis with equivalent circuit representation are used to analyze the finite N-periodic structure. Results of interest such as complex propagation constant and the radiation pattern for the finite slot number case are observed to be in good agreement with those of the infinite geometry case for the appropriately chosen values of slot numbers, slot width, period, and waveguide height  相似文献

A cavity-backed slot antenna is thought to be one of the most suitable elements for the wireless transmission of microwave energy. A design technique is developed for the cavity-backed slot antenna using the finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method. The technique is effective in characterizing antenna performance such as the input impedance and the far-field pattern since it takes into account the geometry of the feeder as well as the cavity. We present a method that overcomes difficulties when the FDTD method is used to design the antenna. Moreover, we discuss how to determine the calculation parameters used in the FDTD analysis. Several numerical results are presented, along with measured data, which demonstrate the validity, efficiency, and capability of the techniques. The paper proposes a new prediction method for the frequency characteristics of the cavity-backed slot antenna, which applies computational windows to time-sequence data. It is emphasized that windowing the slow decaying signal enables the extraction of accurate antenna characteristics. We also discuss how to estimate the antenna patterns when we use a sinusoidal voltage excitation  相似文献

A hemispherical dielectric resonator (DR) antenna using aperture coupling for excitation is studied both theoretically and experimentally. The reciprocity method is used to formulate the problem. The exact magnetic field Green's function due to the equivalent magnetic current in the slot is derived rigorously, and it is presented in a form which can be evaluated very efficiently. Moment method is used to solve the magnetic current from which the input impedance of the antenna configuration is obtained. The equivalent radius of the slot is used so that simple formulae developed for the cylindrical dipole can be applied directly. The effects of the slot's length, the slot's position, and the slot's width on the broadside TE111 mode input impedance are studied, and reasonable agreement between theory and experiment is obtained  相似文献
