An ultra‐wideband compact bandpass filter (BPF) with configurable stopband by tuning transmission zeroes is proposed in this paper. The ultra‐wideband bandpass response is based on a diamond‐shape resonator consisting of a pair of broadside coupled diamond‐shape microstrip lines, within which a diamond shape defected ground structure (DGS) is etched in the middle. Flexible transmission zeros realized by open and short stubs can be easily adjusted to improve band selectivity and harmonic suppression. Measurement result shows that the dedicated device has a 3 dB fractional bandwidth of 148% (0.94‐6.36 GHz) with 20 dB rejection stopband from 6.87 to 9.7 GHz (77.5%) which agrees good with the simulate performance. The overall size of the proposed BPF is 0.27 λg × 0.23 λg.  相似文献

In this study, a filtering power divider (FPD) is proposed by utilizing one T‐shaped tri‐mode stepped‐impedance resonator with input/output coupling structures based on substrate‐integrated suspended line (SISL). The circuit topology and SISL technology are combined together to reach balance in performances such as compact size, wideband, high frequency selectivity, low loss, good in‐band isolation, wide stopband, and self‐packaging so that there are no obvious flaws. Wide bandwidth and two near‐band transmission zeros are contributed by the proposed circuit topology. Good isolation can be obtained by comparing different coupling schemes with one resistor. An additional transmission zero for extending the upper stopband can be achieved by the two closely placed stubs without increasing the size of the design. Low loss and self‐packaging can be realized by SISL technology. For demonstration, a prototype is implemented with the size of 0.5λg × 0.28λg, which exhibits the 1‐dB fractional bandwidth of 26.3%, the frequency selectivity of 0.25/0.37 at the lower/upper edges of the passband, and the insertion loss of 1.1 dB (including transition) at the center frequency (f0) of 3.34 GHz, while the in‐band isolation is higher than 20 dB and the 15‐dB stopband is achieved up to 3.74 f0.  相似文献

A wideband wide stopband filter is designed using asymmetric stepped‐impedance resonators (ASIRs) connected to a large open stub. The capacitive open stub and the parallel‐coupled microstrip line are used to achieve the strong couplings for large fractional bandwidth (FBW). For a wide‐stopband performance, the proposed filter uses ASIRs to improve the high‐order spurious resonant frequency. The first and last resonators of the proposed filter are further optimized to suppress the spurious resonant frequency caused by open stub. The final filter has a 70% FBW centered at 4.87 GHz with 20‐dB‐rejection stopband up to 15.78 GHz (approximately 3.24 f0). The measured insertion loss is less than 0.15 dB and the return loss is better than 17 dB.  相似文献

A compact size of 40 × 40 mm2 ( λ0 × λ0 ) semi‐elliptical slotted ground structure (SESGS) directional ultra‐wideband (UWB) antenna is proposed for radar imaging applications. A vertical semi‐elliptical slot is inserted into ground and subsequently, an axis of semi‐ellipse is rotated diagonally (with 45°) in direction of the substrate. Axes of semi‐ellipse are optimized symmetrically around the circular patch to work antenna as a reflector. Furthermore, semi‐elliptical slot is rotated horizontally (with 90°) again to improve the impedance bandwidth. Proposed antenna achieves fractional bandwidth around 83% covering the UWB frequency range from 4.40 to 10.60 GHz (S11 < ?10 dB) having 4.5/6/7/8/9.3/10.2 GHz resonant frequencies. Also, antenna is capable to send low‐distortion Gaussian pulses with fidelity factor more than 95% in time‐domain. Measured gain and half power beam width (HPBW) are 6.1‐9.1 dBi and 44°‐29° in 4.40‐10.60 GHz band, respectively, which show an improvement of 1‐3 dBi in gain and half power beam‐width is reduced by 5°‐10° when compared with previously designed antennas. Experimental results show good agreement with CST simulation.  相似文献

A compact epsilon‐shaped (ε) ultra‐wideband (UWB) antenna for dual‐wideband circularly polarized (CP) applications has been investigated in this article. It consists of a stepped stub loaded modified annular ring‐shaped radiator and modified CPW ground plane. The ground plane is loaded with two semicircular notches and a spiral‐shaped slot. The impedance bandwidth (IBW) is 97.02% (10.4‐30 GHz) along with an overall footprint of 20 × 20 mm2. The fractional axial ratio bandwidth (3‐dB ARBW) for two wide bands is 38.50% (13.30‐19.64 GHz) and 6.45% (26.25‐28.00 GHz), respectively. The proposed antenna is left‐hand circularly polarized with a peak gain of about 5.09 and 5.14 dB in both 3‐dB ARBW bands. The proposed antenna is dominating other reported CP antenna structures in terms of number of CP bands, 3‐dB ARBW, IBW, peak gain, and dimensions.  相似文献

In this article, a wideband and spurious‐suppressed differential bandpass filter based on strip‐loaded slot‐line structure is presented. By means of the differential microstrip‐slot‐line‐microstrip transition, the proposed filter has a wideband bandpass filtering response. Simultaneously, the utilization of the strip‐loaded slot‐line extends its upper stop‐band. The proposed bandpass filter has wider upper‐stopband, wideband bandpass response, and intrinsic high common‐mode (CM) suppression. To verify the design concept, one filter example has been designed, fabricated, and measured. It has a differential‐mode (DM) 3‐dB fractional bandwidth of 157% with a low 0.82 dB minimum insertion loss. What's more, it shows a very wide 20 dB DM stop‐band bandwidth of 6.5 f0d. The experienced results are in good agreement with the theoretical and simulated results.  相似文献

In this paper, a compact novel simple design of ultra‐wide bandpass filter with high out of band attenuation is presented. The filter configuration is based on combining an ultra‐wide band composite right/left‐handed (CRLH) band pass filter (BPF) with simple uni‐planar configuration of complementary split ring resonator (UP‐CSRR). By integrating two UP‐CSRR cells, the ultra‐wideband CRLH filter roll‐off and wide stopband attenuation are enhanced. The filter has 3 dB cutoff frequencies at 3.1 GHz and 10.6 GHz with insertion loss equals 0.7 dB in average and minimum and maximum values of 0.48 dB and 1.05 dB, respectively over the filter passband. Within the passband. The transition band attenuation from 3 dB to 20 dB is achieved within the frequency band 1.9 GHz to 3.1 GHz (48%) at lower cutoff and the frequency band 10.6 GHz to 11.4 GHz (7%) at upper stopband. Moreover, the filter has a wide stopband attenuation >20 dB in frequencies 11 GHz to 13.6 GHz (21%) and ends with 3 dB cutoff frequency at 14.8 GHz. Furthermore, the designed filter size is very compact (23 × 12 mm2) whose length is only about 0.17 λg at 6.85 GHz. The filter performance is examined using circuit modeling, full‐wave simulations, and experimental measurements with good matching between all of them.  相似文献

By etching slots in the low‐impedance section of the conventional stepped‐impedance resonator, a novel slotted stepped‐impedance resonator (SSIR) is proposed. As two examples, a fourth‐order bandpass filter (BPF) operating at 1 GHz with a size of 0.078 λg × 0.062 λg and a miniaturized diplexer operating at 0.9/1.57 GHz with a size of 0.054 λ0 × 0.086 λ0 are designed based on the proposed SSIR. The fabricated BPF exhibits a high selectivity and a wide ?30 dB rejection upper stopband from 1.13 f0 to 6.52 f0, while the fabricated diplexer has up to ?60 dB output isolation. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A novel wideband power divider with ultra‐wideband suppression of harmonics is proposed in this paper. The power divider is composed of double‐sided parallel spoof surface plasmon polaritons transmission line (DSP‐SSPP‐TL) with periodical grooved bow‐tie cells. The cut‐off frequency of DSP‐SSPP‐TL can be flexibly adjusted by changing the parameters of bow‐tie cells. To demonstrate that, dispersion relations of the bow‐tie cells with different parameters are simulated, and three DSP‐SSPP‐TL counterparts are experimented. Then, a power divider centered at 3.31 GHz (f0) is designed, fabricated, and measured. Experimental results indicate that the 10‐dB return loss bandwidth of the proposed power divider is about 146% from 0.9 to 5.73 GHz, and the upper stopband is extended up to 40 GHz (12.1 f0) with the suppression level above 32 dB. Moreover, ultra‐wideband isolation between two output ports of the proposed power divider could be achieved by employing two lumped resistors between two DSP‐SSPP‐TLs.  相似文献

A compact‐size asymmetrical linearly tapered slot antenna required for portable ultra‐wideband (UWB) imaging systems is presented. The total antenna size is reduced compared with the conventional linearly tapered slot antenna by using a triangular slot on the left‐hand side of the tapered‐shaped radiator, whereas introducing a corrugated pattern of cuts on the right side. The antenna operates over a wide bandwidth extending from 3.1 to 10.6 GHz with a maximum gain of 8.5 dBi. Stable radiation patterns are observed across the operational bandwidth, with cross‐polarization levels below ?20 dB. The realized antenna structure occupies a volume of 35 × 36 × 0.8 mm3, and possesses the essential time domain fidelity needed for UWB imaging applications. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A novel compact self‐similar fractal ultra‐wideband (UWB) multiple‐input‐multiple‐output (MIMO) antenna is presented. This fractal geometry is designed by using iterated function system (IFS). Self‐similar fractal geometry is used here to achieve miniaturization and wideband performance. The self‐similarity dimension of proposed fractal geometry is 1.79, which is a fractional dimension. The antenna consists of two novel self‐similar fractal monopole‐antenna elements and their metallic area is minimized by 29.68% at second iteration. A ground stub of T‐shape with vertical slot enhances isolation and impedance bandwidth of proposed MIMO antenna. This antenna has a compact dimension of 24 × 32 mm2 and impedance bandwidth (S11 < ?10 dB) of 9.4 GHz ranging from 3.1 to 12.5 GHz with an isolation better than 16 dB. The various diversity performance parameters are also determined. There is good agreement between measured and simulated results, which confirms that the proposed antenna is acceptable for UWB applications.  相似文献

A metasurface‐based low‐profile crossed dipole antenna with wide circularly polarized bandwidth for 2.45 GHz ISM band wireless communications is proposed and fabricated in this article. Consisting of four slit‐loaded rectangular patches, the double‐sided printing crossed dipoles are fed by a pair of vacant‐quarter printed rings which circularly polarized (CP) radiation could be generated. With slits loaded, by properly combining the fundamental mode of the two inverted L‐shaped dipole, the slot mode and extra resonance generated by the AMC surface, a wideband circularly polarized operation can be obtained. After optimization, the final design with an overall size of 0.44λ0 × 0.44λ0 × 0.1448λ0 at 2.4 GHz had measured a 31.6% (2–2.75 GHz) impedance bandwidth and 3 dB axial ratio bandwidths of measured were 23.2% (2.1–2.65 GHz), respectively. In addition, the antenna performed a small gain variation (7.0–7.5 dBic) and a front‐to‐back ratio (FBR) of over 25 dB across the whole CP region.  相似文献

A novel multistubs loaded resonator (MSLR) is proposed in this article, which is constructed by several open‐ and short‐circuited stubs. The analysis shows that it is characterized by four resonant modes. Then, the MSLR is applied in the design of a compact ultra‐wideband (UWB) bandpass filter. The measured results show that its 3dB bandwidth can cover [3.0, 11.5] GHz, that is, 3 dB fractional bandwidth is 117%, and the return loss within the passband is greater than 15 dB. Especially, the roll‐off rate is higher than 33 dB/GHz and more than 40 dB harmonic suppression can be achieved up to 17 GHz. In order to suppress the interference of some undesired narrowband signal such as wireless local‐area network (WLAN) radio signal, a notched band is created for the UWB bandpass filter, which is realized by forming one stepped slot on each of the feedlines, respectively. The measured results show that a notched band with 2.01% fractional bandwidth at the center frequency of 5.85 GHz can be achieved and its suppression is about ?19 dB.  相似文献

This paper presents a design method for moderate‐wideband filters with modified λ/2 stub resonators mid‐tapped by λ/4 connecting lines which act as admittance inverters. The modified tapped‐stubs avoid low characteristic impedances of the stubs which results in a very wide strip‐width and a large circuit size. An example filter at 2250 MHz with a fractional bandwidth (FBW) of 45% is successfully designed with this method and fabricated. It has a compact size of 26.5 mm × 10.5 mm on a YBCO/LaAlO3 superconducting wafer. The measurements show good response and match well with the simulations.  相似文献

In this article, a wide stopband 20 dB harmonically suppressed low‐pass filter (LPF) using novel defected ground structures (DGSs) is proposed. The DGSs has been analyzed as a low pass filter which shows a significant harmonics suppression in the stopband. The lumped parameter equivalent of the DGSs has been developed to show its effectiveness. The modified equivalent circuit model of the filter helps in placing the transmission zero near ?3 dB cutoff frequency. The LPF is designed on a 0.10 λg× 0.09 λg substrate size where λg is guided wavelength at ?3 dB cut‐off frequency (fc) equal to1 GHz. The simulation shows a 20 dB harmonic suppression up to 50 fc. The prototype of the LPF has been developed and with the available vector network analyser, the S‐parameters have been measured upto 20 GHz (20 fc).The state of the art comparison of the LPF shows a high figure of merit equal to 26 250 which is higher than many recently published works.  相似文献

A compact wideband circularly polarized (CP) horn antenna with slot‐coupled feeding structure at Ku band for satellite communication is devised. The proposed design is based on a square aperture horn antenna with two orthogonal ridges, which is fed by nonuniform curved slot along the diagonal of the horn on the bottom cavity. And in order to improve the impedance matching, a staircase typed ridge is connected the feeding probe as a matching network. Moreover, two orthogonal ridges are excited with a tapered slot coupled by the staircase ridges via feeding probe. Wideband CP performance is achieved with an overall physical dimension of 9 mm × 9 mm × 14 mm (0.045λ0 × 0.045λ0 × 0.07λ0 at frequency of 15 GHz). It is experimentally demonstrated that the proposed antenna achieves: a wide 10‐dB return loss bandwidth of about 2.4 GHz, a 3‐dB axial ratio bandwidth of 1 GHz, and a peak gain of 6.5 dBi.  相似文献

A compact metamaterial inspired sub‐wavelength unit cells are integrated into wideband Vivaldi antenna. A high gain Vivaldi antenna with 50% impedance bandwidth is proposed. The dimensions of the antenna are 1.55 λ0 × 3.2 λ0 at 28 GHz. Gain enhancement of 3‐dB achieved by placing metamaterial unit cells in the aperture of the antenna. These unit cells aid in phase correction of the antenna. The 1‐dB gain bandwidth of antenna is 42% with a peak gain of 12.5 dBi indicating high pattern integrity. Corrugations of varying length are introduced in the ground plane to improve front‐to‐back ratio without altering the input impedance bandwidth. The aperture efficiency of the metamaterial loaded Vivaldi antenna is 78% at 28 GHz. The proposed element is used in a stacked module to achieve wide angular coverage of 120°.  相似文献

In this article, a novel inverted L‐shaped microstrip‐fed wideband circularly polarized (CP) modified square‐slot antenna is designed. By cutting a pair of triangle chamfers and introducing a pair of triangle patches at the square‐slot, the antenna achieves a wideband CP radiation. Moreover, CP performance of the antenna can also be remarkably enhanced by protruding an L‐shaped strip and embedding a tuning rectangle slot into the slot ground. The measured results demonstrate that the axial‐ratio bandwidth for AR < 3 is 75.1% (from 4.45 to 9.8 GHz) and the impedance bandwidth (|S11| < ?10 dB) reaches 65.8% (from 4.95 to 9.8 GHz). In addition, surface current studies are performed to illustrate the operating mechanism of CP operation, and the antenna has bidirectional radiation characteristics with an average gain of ~4 dBic within the CP band.  相似文献

A single‐fed circularly polarized square shaped wide slot antenna with modified ground plane and microstrip feed has been presented. The field in the slot is perturbed by introducing an antipodal strips section attached with a microstrip line to produce circular polarization in a wide band of frequencies. The antipodal strip section consists of a group of four strips of unequal length and separation. The presence of asymmetric perturbations in the slot is mainly responsible for exciting two orthogonal modes in the slot having equal magnitude and 90° phase difference which results in circular polarization. A wide bandwidth of 3.3 GHz (4.4 GHz‐7.7 GHz) has been achieved for an axial ratio value AR < 3 dB with the minimum axial ratio value being 0.3 dB. The impedance bandwidth for |S11| < ?10 dB ranges from 4.3 GHz to 8 GHz, and therefore covers most of the C‐band communication systems. The antenna exhibits stable radiation patterns throughout the circular polarization bandwidth with a gain around 6 dBi in entire operational bandwidth. A prototype of antenna was fabricated and measured. The antenna has a planar size 0.40λ0 × 0.40λ0 and thickness of 0.02λ0 where λ0 is the wavelength in free space at the lowest frequency. With its compact size and low profile, the antenna is a favorable choice for WLAN (5.15‐5.85 GHz) and a wide variety of C‐band wireless applications.  相似文献

A compact ultra‐wideband (UWB) reconfigurable microstrip fed monopole antenna having size of 0.22 λ0 × 0.28 λ0 × 0.005 λ0 with switchable frequency bands is presented. Triple band notched characteristics are achieved by inserting two stubs at top of radiator and one slot in between the radiator and microstrip feed line. Proposed antenna achieves reconfigurability with three PIN diodes at strategic positions to obtain eight different operational modes. In one of the operational modes, antenna operates in the entire UWB (3‐14 GHz) with fractional bandwidth of 127.5%. Two stubs are used to notch two frequency bands worldwide interoperability for microwave access (3.3‐3.6 GHz/WiMAX) and C‐band (3.7‐4.2 GHz). T‐shaped slot is also inserted to notch wireless local area network (5.725‐5.825 GHz/WLAN) frequency band. Proper biasing of PIN diodes is done by using suitable chip inductors and capacitors. Proposed antenna exhibits stable radiation patterns with average gain of around 3 dBi. Simulation and measurement results are in good agreement. Proposed antenna is suitable for on‐demand band rejection of parasitic bands coexisting in UWB.  相似文献
