可见光区一维光子晶体纳米膜偏振带通滤波器的设计   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2

应用一维时域有限差分方法研究各种条件下一维二元光子晶体的偏振带通滤波特性,具体数值分析了掺杂层位置、厚度、电磁参数、入射角度四种因素对偏振滤波特性的影响.数值结果表明传统意义上的光学多层膜是一维二元光子晶体在光学厚度满足四分之一波长时的特例;可见光区的偏振滤波器的窄带滤波特性与掺杂层的位置有关,掺杂层在整个膜中间位置时偏振分离效果好,掺杂层的厚度与周期层厚度相差越大则分离效果越好,两组元折射率相差越大越易形成禁带,入射角越大禁带越窄,偏振的分离度越好.特别是P偏振局域模更多;在线度参数相同的情况下介质电磁参数对禁带有较大影响,禁带只有在两组元折射率相差越大才能形成,介质损耗同样是不可忽略的因素;光源的入射角对禁带有重大影响.本文的研究对光子器件的设计有一定的指导作用.  相似文献

In this study, we analyse full photonic band gap (PBG) properties of two-dimensional plasma photonic crystals (PCs) with triangular lattice, composed of anisotropic tellurium rods with different geometrical shapes immersed in plasma background. Using the finite-difference time-domain method, we discuss the maximization of the full PBG width as a function of tellurium rods parameters with different shapes and orientations. The numerical results show that our proposed structures represent significant large full PBGs in comparison to previously studied plasma PCs.  相似文献

In this article, we investigate for the first time the dispersion and the nonlinear characteristics of the tapered photonic crystal fibers (PCFs) as a function of length z, via solving the eigenvalue equation of the guided mode using the finite-difference frequency-domain method. Since the structural parameters such as the air-hole diameter and the pitch of the microstructured cladding change along the tapered PCFs, dispersion and nonlinear properties change with the length as well. Therefore, it is important to know the exact behavior of such fiber parameters along z which is necessary for nonlinear optics applications. We simulate the z dependency of the zero-dispersion wavelength, dispersion slope, effective mode area, nonlinear parameter, and the confinement loss along the tapered PCFs and propose useful relations for describing dispersion and nonlinear parameters. The results of this article, which are in a very good agreement with the available experimental data, are important for simulating pulse propagation as well as investigating nonlinear effects such as supercontinuum generation and parametric amplification in tapered PCFs.  相似文献

运用时域有限差分(FDTD)方法计算了GaAs/玻璃/空气三组元光子晶体的透射频谱及缺陷模的传输特征,发现GaAs/玻璃/空气三组元体系的最低完全带隙宽度明显宽于玻璃/空气或GaAs/空气二组元体系,适当调整GaAs/玻璃比例可以得到宽带隙;光子晶体中的缺陷会形成局域模式,线型缺陷形成光波波导;设计适当的组合缺陷,并通过缺陷之间的耦合作用可以实现对光波传播的选择性输出.  相似文献

用化学浴沉淀法(CBD)在SiO2胶体晶体中生长了CdS半导体材料, 并用UV-VIS-NIR光谱仪和荧光光分度计测试了其光学性能.测试结果表明,在SiO2胶体晶体中随着CdS填充量的增加,光子带隙向长波段方向移动且变宽;当发射出的光与基体材料的光子带隙相匹配时,可控制半导体材料的光致发光,同时,可通过控制SiO2胶体颗粒粒经的大小来调节CdS的光致发光性能.  相似文献

Ultrashort pulse compression by propagation in one-dimensional inhomogeneous photonic crystals with symmetric and asymmetric refractive index profiles are studied by using the transfer matrix method and Fourier analysis. The effect of different parameters, like chirp value of the incident pulse, angle of incidence, and number of unit cells on the compress factors, are investigated and temporal evolution of the reflected pulse is calculated. Compress factors as low as 32% for a sinusoidal profile are obtained using this structure.  相似文献

Photonic crystals (PCs) have many potential applications because of their ability to control lightwave propagation. We have investigated a tunable ultrashort electro-optical power divider in two-dimensional PC structures. The power divider, composed of a dielectric cylinder in air, is studied by solving Maxwell's equations using the plane wave expansion method and finite-difference time-domain method. The power-splitting mechanism is analogous to that of conventional directional couplers, utilizing coupling between guided modes supported by line defect waveguides. To increase the coupling coefficient of the PC coupler, the radius of the rods between two waveguides is reduced. The switching mechanism is a change in the conductance in the coupling region between the waveguides and hence modulating the coupling coefficient, and eventually switching is achieved. Such a mechanism of wavelength multiplexing should open up a new application for designing components in photonic integrated circuits.  相似文献

A compact design of all-optical diode with mode conversion function based on a two-dimensional photonic crystal waveguide and an L1 or L3 cavity is theoretically investigated. The proposed photonic crystal structures comprise a triangular arrangement of air holes embedded in a silicon substrate. Asymmetric light propagation is achieved via the spatial mode match/mismatch in the coupling region. The simulations show that at each cavity’s resonance frequency, the transmission efficiency of the structure with the L1 and L3 cavities reach 79% and 73%, while the corresponding unidirectionalities are 46 and 37 dB, respectively. The functional frequency can be controlled by simply adjusting the radii of specific air holes in the L1 and L3 cavities. The proposed structure can be used as a frequency filter, a beam splitter and has potential applications in all-optical integrated circuits.  相似文献

In this paper, high birefringence and low confinement loss of rectangular air holes photonic crystal fibers (PCFs) are numerically investigated and compared with elliptical and circular patterns using the finite element method. The mode birefringence of the proposed PCFs with rectangular air holes at λ?=?1.55?µm reaches 8.1?×?10?2 and the confinement loss is less than 5?×?10?3?dB/km. Besides, a high birefringence up to 2.76?×?10?2 is also achieved from the proposed circular air holes PCF, which is the highest value compared to conventional circular air holes PCF.  相似文献

一维金属光子晶体薄膜是由金属-介质多层结构组成的等效均匀的各向异性超构材料。相比单层金属膜层,该结构在色散调控方面具有更多的自由度。在该结构中由于表面等离子体激元(SPP)的存在,可实现倏逝波的定向传输。在本文中,等效介质理论、时域有限元差分法(FDTD)的计算结果和实验结果都表明,传输倏逝波的波长、频宽和强度可通过金属光子晶体结构调整实现主动设计。金属膜厚比例越小,传输波长的中心和截止波长越长,频带越宽。当金属膜层厚度小于SPP穿透深度时,可获得宽频段的倏逝波的传输。同时,对金属光子晶体在微波波段的传输性能也进行了研究,发现其在微波波段等效介电常数为负,具有良好的反射性能。该结构的屏蔽效能远大于厚度相近的ITO薄膜的电磁屏蔽效能。在厚度只有几百纳米时,该结构即可实现良好的电磁屏蔽效能。通过金属光子晶体薄膜可实现电磁屏蔽材料的薄膜化、轻质化和可视化。  相似文献

A new polarization beam splitter is proposed based on a photonic crystal ring resonator (PCRR) composed of honeycomb-lattice cylindrical silicon rods in air. By shrinking the width of the bus waveguide and adjusting the radii of two nearest-neighbor center rods of the PCRR, an unpolarized beam can be separated well into TE and TM polarization states, respectively, at the backward and forward output ports. Simulation results obtained by the two-dimensional finite-difference time-domain technique show that the insertion losses are 3.58 dB and 3.08 dB, and the polarization extinction ratios are 21.42 dB and 28.53 dB for TE and TM polarization, respectively, at a 1566.7 nm center wavelength. The excess loss is less than 0.34 dB and its dimensions are roughly 43.2 μm × 27.52 μm. These findings offer potential practical applications in high-density photonic integrated circuits.  相似文献

利用遗传算法和传输矩阵法计算一维光子晶体能带结构,将一维光子晶体用像素填充法进行二进制编码模拟,结果找到全方位相对禁带宽度达42.54%的4层结构和43.75%的2层结构;给出了一维光子晶体4层最佳结构的能带图、20个原胞的反射率透射率频谱图.发现一维2层光子晶体的全方位禁带宽度对每层厚度的变化是不敏感的,但是随着两种介质折射率差的增大而增大.  相似文献

针对星载DBF有源相控阵天线发射波束赋形的实际需要,提出了一种基于有限幅度加权的波束赋形方案。采用双重编码遗传算法实现了该方案。分别采用有限位长度的二进制编码和实数编码对阵列加权矢量的幅度和相位进行编码,使得阵列加权矢量的幅度仅在几个离散的台阶上变化,限制了阵列加权矢量幅度的动态范围,该方案在方向图旁瓣和功率放大器的效率之间取得了折衷,更适合于实际应用。与复数编码遗传算法相比,在保持最优解的精确度的同时,由于幅度维上搜索空间的减小,加快了算法的收敛速度。为了进一步提高算法收敛速度和避免算法“早熟” ,提出了一种基于”物种多样性“选择保留策略,并对算法采用了自适应交叉和变异概率,使算法更有把握得到全局最优或准最优解。  相似文献

用有限元方法计算了一维杆状声子晶体的振动传输特性及其振动模态,从振形角度分析了一维杆状声子晶体相关参数(物理参数、尺寸参数)对带隙起始频率及带隙宽度的影响,发现带隙的形成与其模态振形密切相关,各参数对声子晶体带隙的影响主要是影响了个模态所在的频率,从而改变了其带隙的起始位置及宽度。  相似文献

An approximate nonlinear analysis of light generation in two-dimensional square- and triangular-lattice photonic crystal lasers including gain saturation effects is presented for the TE modes. This model extends earlier studies which took into account only TM modes. Our approach is based on coupled mode theory. With the help of an energy theorem and a threshold field approximation an approximate formula relating the small signal gain required to obtain a given output power to the structure parameters has been obtained. It has been used to calculate laser characteristics revealing an optimum coupling strength for which laser structure achieves maximum power efficiency.  相似文献

We consider a light wave propagation in tapered photonic crystal fibres (PCFs) wherein the wave propagation is described by the variable coefficient nonlinear Schrödinger equation. We solve it directly by means of the theta function identities and Hirota bilinear method in order to obtain the exact periodic waves of sn, cn and dn types. These chirped period waves demand exponential variations in both dispersion and nonlinearity. Besides, we analytically demonstrate the generation of a train of ultrashort pulses using the periodic waves by exploiting the exponentially varying optical properties of the tapered PCFs. As a special case, we discuss the chirped solitary pulses under long wave limit of these periodic waves. In addition, we derive these types of periodic waves using the self-similar analysis and compare the results.  相似文献

We present a technique based on the optofluidic method to design a photonic crystal fiber (PCF) experiencing small dispersion over a broad range of wavelengths. Without nano-scale variation in the air-hole diameter or the lattice constant of Λ, or even changing the shape of the air holes, this approach allows us to control the dispersion of the fundamental mode in a PCF simply by choosing a suitable refractive index of the liquid to infiltrate into the air holes of the PCF. Moreover, one can design a different PCF such as a dispersion flattened fiber (DFF), dispersion shifted fiber (DSF), by utilizing fluids of various refractive indices.  相似文献

In this paper, we propose all-optical bistable switching based on a two-dimensional (2D) photonic crystal slab nanocavity using the nonlinear Kerr effect with improved optical properties such as on/off ratio and switching power. The nonlinear properties of different kinds of nanocavity-based L3 structures are characterized. Using the 2D finite-difference time-domain method, we present a new structure of nanocavities for all-optical switching. The device has on/off ratio greater than 15?dB and power smaller than 375?mW for input optical pulses in the range of picoseconds.  相似文献

We review the optical guidance properties of hollow-core photonic crystal fibers. We follow a historical perspective to introduce the two major optical guidance mechanisms that were identified as operating in these fibers: photonic bandgap guidance and inhibited coupling guidance. We then review the modal properties of these fibers and assess the transmission loss mechanisms in photonic bandgap guiding hollow-core photonic crystal fiber. We dedicate a section to a review of the technical basics of hollow-core photonic crystal fiber fabrication and photonic microcell assembly. We review some of the early results on the use of hollow-core photonic crystal fiber for laser guiding micro-sized particles, as well as the generation of stimulated Raman scattering, electromagnetically induced transparency and laser frequency stabilization when the fiber core is filled with a gas-phase material. We conclude this review with a non-exhaustive list of prospects where hollow-core photonic crystal fiber could play a central role.  相似文献

A surface plasmon resonance biosensor based on large size square-lattice photonic crystal fiber has been designed and simulated by finite element method. The square-lattice airholes are first coated with a calcium fluoride layer to provide mode confinement, then a nanoscale gold layer is deposited to excite the plasmon mode, and finally, the sample is infiltrated into the holes. The numerical results reveal that the resonance properties are easily affected by many parameters. The refractive index resolution of corresponding sensor can reach 4.3 × 10?6 RIU when the optimum parameters are set as the radius of curvature of the airhole r = 2 μm, the thickness of the core struts c = 200 nm, the auxiliary dielectric layer s = 1 μm, and the gold film d = 40 nm. In addition, the effective area and nonlinear coefficient are calculated.  相似文献
