Abstract

The sensitivity of the collapse-revival phenomenon of Rabi oscillations of two identical atoms to dipole-dipole interaction is brought out by deriving the analytical expression of the excitation probability of two interacting atoms in a coherent field. Abstract

We analyse the collapse-revival phenomenon in the process of k-photon down conversion with quantized pump for initial Fock states. We give an explanation for the appearance of the revivals by analysing the decomposition of the initial state into the interaction Hamiltonian eigenvectors. Abstract

We have analysed the behaviour of the atomic population inversion of the two-level atom interacting with a single-mode field initially prepared in the multiphoton Holstein-Primakoff SU(2) coherent state. It is shown that the behaviour of the atomic inversion depends on the parameters characterizing the initial state of the field. In particular, the atomic inversion can exhibit periodical oscillations as well as the collapse-revival phenomenon.  相似文献

We introduce new kinds of states of electromagnetic field, which are quantum superpositions of binomial states. They not only exhibit remarkable non-classical properties but can also interpolate between the ‘Schrödinger cat’ type of states and the number states in a particularly interesting way. We basically discuss some of their main statistical properties, as well as schemes for their generation. We also employ quasiprobability distributions in phase space.  相似文献

Abstract

We investigate some of the basic features of the interaction of superpositions of coherent states of light with two-level atoms in the framework of the Jaynes-Cummings model. We compare the behaviour of the system in the case of having a coherent superposition state and a statistical mixture of coherent states as an initial field. We investigate the collapses and revivals of the atomic inversion by studying the evolution of the Q function of the cavity field. We also establish the connection between the purity of the field and the collapses and revivals of the atomic inversion.  相似文献

Abstract

We study the statistical properties of superpositions of displaced Fock states. We find that for the superposition of the form ¦ψ1〉 = 1/√2(¦α, n〉 + ¦α, k〉) the direction of the displacement (α positive or negative) plays an important role; also, if n = 1 and k = 0 a strong sub-Poissonian character is found for α ≥ 0. We also analyse the ways in which superpositions of displaced Fock states may be generated.  相似文献

Abstract

We study the interaction of a Kerr-like medium with light initially prepared in a displaced number state. We analyse squeezing properties and photon statistics at the output of a Kerr-like medium. We show that under certain conditions the superposition of two displaced number states can be created. We study the influence of dissipation on the formation of the superposition state.  相似文献

Using Pegg-Barnett formalism the author has studied the phase properties of displaced number states. It has been found that the phase probability distribution exhibits the same oscillations as the photon number distribution. Using the Hermitian phase operator the fluctuations of the phase of the displaced number states have been studied. The dependence of the fluctuations on the value of the reference phase have been analysed in detail. It has been found that phase of displaced number states exhibit squeezing in the high-intensity limit of the driving field. These states are approximately equivalent to phase states with precisely defined phase. It has been shown that displaced number states are not minimum uncertainty states with respect to the phase and the number operators.  相似文献

With the help of an approximation scheme valid for n ? 1 and Δ n2 ?n -2 (where n is the mean value and Δ n2 the variance of the photon number), the photon statistics of an m-photon laser with k-photon losses (m,k = 1, 2, …) is studied theoretically for arbitrary values of the atomic population inversion s produced by an external pumping source. For m>k, m = k and m < k, the dependences of the steady-state values of the mean photon number and of the quantity Δ n2 / n on gain and saturation are investigated. In the limit of strong saturation (well above the threshold for m > k) the photon statistics are characterized by the steady-state value Δ n2 / n = (1/2) (1 + m/ks).  相似文献

Abstract

Temporal coherence of the idler photon beam induced by a coherent input signal was studied for non-degenerate optical parametric down conversion. When the optical path difference of the interferometer is much longer than the coherence length of the spontaneous idler radiation, the experimental results show that the first-order temporal coherence of the idler photon can be induced by a coherence input signal and the interference fringe visibility is determined by the intensity of the coherent input signal.  相似文献

对比SOA的交叉增益效应,基于EAM的交叉吸收效应实现波长变换具有结构简单、转换效率高等优点.文中分析了MQW-EAM交叉吸收效应实现波长变换的原理,设计了实现波长变换的实验装置, 并对现有的EAM的交叉吸收效应模型进行了改进,使其可用于多光束信号注入情况.并分两种情况对EAM数学模型进行了详细分析,根据模型仿真得出了单高斯脉冲注入和强信号注入下的载流子浓度关系图,仿真结果与事实原理吻合较好.  相似文献

研究直流磁控反应溅射ITO膜过程中ITO靶材的毒化现象,用XRD、EPMA、LECO测氧仪等手段对毒化发生的机理进行分析,并对若干诱导因素进行讨论,研究表明ITO靶材毒化是由于In2O3。主相分解为In2O造成的,靶材性能及溅射工艺缺陷都可能诱导毒化发生.  相似文献

Examples of the use of the approximate method in solution of nonstationary heat-conduction problems are given. The error of this method is evaluated by comparison with exact solutions; it turns out to be several orders of magnitude smaller than the error in finite-difference methods.
