Organic dye lasers have proved to be a high-intensity source of monochromatic radiation that can be tuned to any desired wavelength in the visible range of the spectrum. In this contribution the basic principles of dye laser operation are treated within the model of a suitably modified four-level laser, described in the rate equation approach. The tuning methods based on dispersion by prisms, diffraction by gratings, interferometric effects and polarization effects are discussed. In addition, examples of dye lasers, which are rapidly tunable or which emit simultaneously two or more wavelengths, and some interesting properties of ring lasers are presented.  相似文献

A low energy, unconfined spark provides an inexpensive and reliable source of pump radiation for a small dye laser. Kilowatt peak laser output is obtained, using sub-joule spark input energy. Pulse durations of order 10 -7 sec and repetition rates up to at least several hundred pulses per second are typical. Maintenance-free operation exceeds 106 pulses, and a modular design facilitates replacement of expendable components when required.  相似文献

Radiationless energy transfer in the laser dye mixture consisting of rhodamine 6G (donor) and rhodamine B (acceptor) has been studied using fluorescence lifetime measurements. The main aim was to observe directly the effect of energy transfer on the excited-state lifetime of the donor. Estimates of the energy transfer parameters are in agreement with predictions of the Forster theory for resonance transfer based on long-range dipole-dipole interactions.  相似文献

在激光加工技术中,就激光打孔而言,制造出规则的序列脉冲是进行高精度打孔的关键。文章介绍了用于对驻波腔腔长进行扫描的脉冲抽样器的设计及制作,利用我们制作的脉冲抽样器对压电陶瓷堆进行高频调制,从而达到扫描激光器谐振腔腔长的目的。此脉冲抽样器在脉冲激光加工工艺,特别是激光打孔技术中有非常实用的价值。此项工作为激光打标工艺作了相应的探索和准备。  相似文献

Abstract

It is shown that some transversal profile modifications, such as ‘overshoot’ at the edges of laser pulses propagating through gaseous laser amplifiers, can be qualitatively explained when diffusion of the active centres of the amplifier is taken into account. The necessary conditions for this situation to occur are also discussed and numerical results are presented which are in good agreement with previously obtained experimental results.  相似文献

A condition is deduced for angular magnification in a distributed-feedback dye laser (DFDL), in which an optical grating is used for pump beam splitting. A theoretical analysis of the temperature dependence of the delay in stimulated radiation of an injection laser is made with allowance for the temperature dependence of the lifetime of the current carriers and the threshold current at different excitation levels. In admissible regimes of excitation the dependence of the delay on the temperature is investigated experimentally. The experimental results agree satisfactorily with those predicted. A method of stabilization of radiation delay in an injection laser based on priority discrimination of pulse signals is described, and its efficiency is investigated experimentally.  相似文献

传感光纤分成了前后两段,脉冲激光通过光分路器分成大小不同的两路分别注入前后段传感光纤,后段传感光纤的脉冲激光并不是通过前段传感光纤注入,而是通过一条专用的传输光纤远程投送一段距离后通过波分复用器再注入,该方法能有效提高后段传感光纤的拉曼散射信号强度,从而避免了温度解调精度随传感距离的增大而不断劣化的问题。系统实现了22.7 km的传感距离,前后段传感光纤测温精度±0.5℃。  相似文献
