IP address autoconfiguration of mobile nodes is highly desirable in the practical usage of most mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs).
This paper proposes cluster-based autoconfiguration, a novel approach for the efficient address autoconfiguration of MANETs.
The cluster structure derived from clustering techniques is used to manage address assignment and conflict resolution. By
introducing the concept of virtual address agents (AAs), the proposed approach can be applicable to many existing clustering
protocols. Finally, analysis and simulation demonstrate that the proposed scheme outperforms the previous autoconfiguration
approaches.

该文提出了一种基于自适应策略的稳定链路选择算法,定义了稳定邻居度量和本地运动度量两种稳定测度。在此基础上,通过引入模糊隶属度函数得出稳定测度的重要性权值,利用重要性加权的方法即可根据网络状况自适应地得到链路的稳定概率,从而为选择最稳定链路及路由提供依据。仿真结果表明该算法能很好地适应当前的网络状况,明显优于基于LF因子和基于剩余生命时间的链路选择算法,稳定性能显著提高。 相似文献

A new cross-layer routing protocol, named Dynamic Packet Guidance (DPG), is introduced for Mobile Ad hoc Networks (MANETs). Simulation results show that DPG is quite useful for usage in dense networks of mobile nodes, with medium-to-high speeds, and low-to-medium load. In these scenarios, DPG provides a superior performance compared to several well-known ad hoc routing protocols. The low end-to-end delay and smaller overhead that DPG achieves in such scenarios positively impacts the scalability of MANETs and reduces the energy requirements of nodes in such networks. DPG also shows immunity to failing nodes, as it operates consistently almost independently of failing nodes up to a certain ratio. 相似文献

This letter presents a pairwise key establishment scheme that is robust against the compromise of nodes in mobile ad hoc networks. Each node establishes local keys with its neighbor nodes that are at most three hops away at network boot‐up time. When any two nodes establish a pairwise key, they receive the secret information from the nodes on the route between them, and construct the pairwise key using the secret information. Here, the local keys are utilized by the nodes on the route to send the secret information securely. The simulation results have proven that the proposed scheme provides better security than the key pre‐distribution‐based scheme. 相似文献

In this paper we propose an explicit multicast routing protocol for mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs). Explicit multicasting differs from common approaches by listing destination addresses in data packet headers. Using the explicit destination information, the multicast routing protocol can avoid the overhead of employing its own route construction and maintenance mechanisms by taking advantage of unicast routing table. Our protocol – termed Differential Destination Multicast (DDM) – is an explicit multicast routing protocol specifically designed for MANET environment. Unlike other MANET multicasting protocols, instead of distributing membership control throughout the network, DDM concentrates this authority at the data sources (i.e. senders) thereby giving sources knowledge of group membership. In addition, differentially-encoded, variable-length destination headers are inserted in data packets which are used in combination with unicast routing tables to forward multicast packets towards multicast receivers. Instead of requiring that multicast forwarding state to be stored in all participating nodes, this approach also provides the option of stateless multicasting. Each node independently has the choice of caching forwarding state or having its upstream neighbor to insert this state into self-routed data packets, or some combination thereof. Existing cooperative caching algorithms for mobile ad hoc networks face serious challenges due to message overhead and scalability issues. To solve these issues, we propose an adaptive virtual backbone based cooperative caching that uses a connective dominating set (CDS) to find the desired location of cached data. Message overhead in cooperative caching is mainly due to cache lookup process used for cooperative caching. The idea in this scheme is to reduce the number of nodes involved in cache look up process, by constructing a virtual backbone adaptive to the dynamic topology in mobile ad hoc networks. The proposed algorithm is decentralized and the nodes in the CDS perform data dissemination and discovery. Simulation results show that the message overhead created by the proposed cooperative caching technique is very less compared to other approaches. Moreover, due to the CDS based cache discovery we applied in this work, the proposed cooperative caching has the potential to increase the cache hit ratio and reduce average delay. 相似文献

Due to unpredictable topology change and frequent link failure, it becomes evident major challenge to provide the stable route between source and destination in mobile ad hoc networks. Unlike previous multipath routing schemes for redundancy and unicast routing protocol utilizing the longest route expiration time measured by geographical information supported by Global Positioning System (GPS), we develop a framework to establish the most stable route based on measured frequency of link failure, available battery as well as the number of actual connections. To evaluate performance of proposed scheme, we provide practical simulation results for multipath and unicast routing protocol in terms of packet delivery ratio, control overhead, average hop length as well as end-to-end delay. Through analysis of simulation results, we demonstrate that our scheme shows better performance than general unicast routing protocol as well as similar packet delivery ratio to multipath routing protocol with less maintenance overhead.
Ki-Il Kim received the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in computer science from the Chungnam National University, Daejeon, Korea, in 2002 and 2005, respectively. He is currently with Department of Information Science, Gyeongsang National University as a faculty member. His research interests include routing for MANET, QoS in wireless network, multicast, and sensor networks.
Sang-Ha Kim received the B.S. degree in chemistry from Seoul National University, Seoul, Korea, in 1980. He received the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in quantum scattering and computer science from the University of Houston, Houston, TX, in 1984 and 1989, respectively. From 1990 to 1991, he was with the Supercomputing Center, SERI, Korean Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) as Senior Researcher. He joined Chungnam National University, Daejeon, Korea, in 1992, where he is a Professor. His current research interests include wireless networks, ad hoc networks, QoS, optical networks, and network analysis. 相似文献
