文章采用时域有限差分法和平面波法作为研究工具,在耦合长度L=7α的条件下研究了光在输出端口的透射率和反射率.结果表明,通过引入额外的介质柱改变耦合区电磁场的相位分布,可使3个输出端口的强度达到均分;并且这种结构的分束器具有很高的输出效率,最高可达到99.5%,这些特性使这种器件在波分复用等方面具有很大的潜在运用价值. 相似文献

单个器件输出功率不满足系统要求时,功率合成技术是提高系统输出功率的有效方法.本文详细研究了基于薄膜电阻的波导E-T结功率分配/合成器,最终设计了一种新型的基于薄膜电阻的波导E-T结.该结构具有高隔离度、低插入损耗、小体积、宽频带等优点.通过合理设计薄膜电阻的长宽比,尽量增大薄膜电阻的面积,并且采用高导热的氮化铝陶瓷基板作为微带和薄膜电阻的介质基板,提高了基于薄膜电阻的波导E-T结承受的功率.利用三维电磁场仿真软件HFSS对其进行了建模仿真,加工的实物经过测试在25~34 GHz插入损耗小于0.2 d B,回波损耗优于-15 d B,隔离度优于10 d B.经对比,实测结果与仿真结果吻合,具有较好的工程应用价值. 相似文献

The capability of the H-plane waveguide joints to maintain natural [1] and quasi-natural modes [2] of Hpso type brings about an idea of possibility to develop transmission lines with E-modes based on them. From the physical point of view, the said property of the splitter allows to conclude that, to some extent, this structure is a resonator whose cut-off orthogonal waveguides serve as reflecting surfaces cutting off the electromagnetic field at a certain distance from the splitter area. Whereas the transmission line losses of lowest E-modes are higher than those of H- modes, still one could expect that, due to the semi-open character in both transverse directions, at least the cross-shaped line [3,4], with regard for its loss criterion, will be competitive with the groove waveguide [5,6]. 相似文献

We report the design and characterization of an efficient erbium/sup +3/-ytterbium/sup +3/ codoped ion exchanged glass distributed Bragg reflector (DBR) laser pumped by a 980-nm pigtailed laser source. Laser oscillation at 1536 nm is demonstrated with a pump threshold of 35 mW and a slope efficiency of 10.6%. The dependence of lasing performance on pump wavelength detuning is examined for different cavity designs. 相似文献

A new concept for a millimeter-wave amplifier that uses circuit, waveguide, and spatial power combining is demonstrated. The passive array has a free-space-to-microstrip insertion loss below -1.5 dB from 30 to 44 GHz. Small-signal measurements of the active array reveal an average gain of 5 dB from 41 to 46 GHz and a maximum gain of 6.4 dB at 45.6 GHz. Large-signal measurements reveal a linear power gain of 2 dB and an output power of 23.7 dBm at the 1-dB compression point at 44 GHz 相似文献

A compact dynamic gain equalisation filter on a silica-based planar lightwave circuit has been fabricated. The filter is based on the authors' newly developed optical transversal filter that uses an asymmetric combiner. We show that specially tailored erbium-doped fiber amplifiers (EDFA's) can be useful for short-pulse soliton lasers, switching, and propagation. EDFA properties include group-velocity dispersion, birefringence, doping level, and doping distribution; and changing each of these properties enables novel applications. Polarization-maintaining EDFA's can Re used in erbium-doped fiber lasers to avoid intensity-dependent or temperature-dependent state of polarization. We have demonstrated a passively mode-locked erbium-doped fiber laser that generates nearly transform-limited 320 fs pulses with 40 pJ energy using a polarization-maintaining EDFA near the zero dispersion wavelength and a bulk InGaAsP saturable absorber. Moderately birefringent EDFA's can be used to control the walkoff and interaction between orthogonally polarized solitons in all-optical switches. For example, through numerical simulations, we design an all-optical cascadable logic gate with a fanout of 2.7 and energy contrast of 5.5 based on interactions in a soliton period long EDFA. Furthermore, distributed EDFA's can be used for long-distance soliton propagation to shepherd the pulse using bandwidth-limited gain. For picosecond soliton pulses, we show that soliton self-frequency shift and Gordon-Hans effects limit propagation to below 100 km even for low-dispersion fibers. Bandwidth-limited amplification in EDFA may counteract frequency shift due to the soliton self-frequency shift, while frequency filters may suppress the Gordon-Hans effect. Also, because the gain spectral profile for the three-level EDFA changes with pump intensity, complications arise from pump attenuation, and the corresponding changes in the gain spectral profile along the length of the fiber 相似文献

A novel highly selective six-pole elliptic filter based on a substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) is proposed for the first time. The filter is composed of two planar SIW extend doublets. The modular design approach based on cascading small building blocks is adopted to reduce the effect of manufacturing tolerance on the performance of the filter. The proposed filter can produce four finite transmission zeros, and has an excellent stopband rejection characteristic. A six-port junction based on the substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) technology is proposed and presented. In this design of such a junction, the SIW is first converted to an equivalent rectangular waveguide, then regular rectangular waveguide design techniques are used. In this structure, an SIW power divider and SIW hybrid 3-dB coupler are designed as fundamental building blocks. A six-port junction circuit operating at 24 GHz is fabricated and measured. 针对传统基片集成波导(substrate integrated waveguide,SIW)功分器设计中宽带化和小型化不易兼顾的问题,提出了一种基于慢波SIW(slow-wave SIW, SW-SIW)的功分器. 采用微带折线构成的慢波结构单元加载于SIW金属表面上,代替传统SIW连续的金属表面,与同尺寸的SIW相比,SW-SIW的截止频率下降了40%,能够实现横向尺寸的缩减,尤其当SW-SIW达到与SIW相同的相移量时,SW-SIW所需纵向尺寸更小. 所提出的基于SW-SIW的功分器在具有较宽带宽的同时实现了器件尺寸的减小. 通过测试结果可得,该功分器在8.25~12.8 GHz频带内的反射系数|S11|10 dB,相对带宽达到了43.2%,相位一致性良好且小型化效果明显,适用于紧凑型微波射频前端. 相似文献

A filtering power divider based on air-filled substrate-integrated waveguide (AFSIW) technology is proposed in this study. The AFSIW structure is used in the proposed filtering power divider for substantially reducing the transmission losses. This structure occupies a large area because of the use of air as a dielectric instead of typical dielectric materials. A filtering power divider provides power division and frequency selectivity simultaneously in a single device. The proposed filtering power divider comprises three AFSIW cavities. The filtering function is achieved using symmetrical inductive posts. The input and output ports of the proposed circuit are realized by directly connecting coaxial lines to the AFSIW cavities. This transition from the coaxial line to the AFSIW cavity eliminates the additional transitions, such as AFSIW-SIW and SIW-conductor-backed coplanar waveguide, applied in existing AFSIW circuits. The proposed power divider with a second-order bandpass filtering response is fabricated and measured at 5.5 GHz. The measurement results show that this circuit has a minimum insertion loss of 1 dB, 3-dB fractional bandwidth of 11.2%, and return loss exceeding 11 dB. 相似文献
