The paper studies a digital satellite modem for mobile systems. The modem transmits a convolutionally and differentially encoded eight-phase-shift-keyed (CDE8PSK) signal over a satellite link and employs a near-maximum-likelihood decoder at the receiver. The signal can tolerate phase ambiguities that are multiples of 4 radians, which normally result from the carrier recovery loop at the receiver. However, the carrier recovery loop is not considered here. The high-power amplifier (HPA) at the earth-station transmitter may introduce non-linear distortion to the CDE8PSK signal, and predistortion may or may not be used. Several different earth-stations are assumed to have simultaneous access to a given transponder on the satellite, in an arrangement of frequency division multiple access, but the satellite transponder is assumed to be linear. Thus the CDE8PSK signals that occupy the immediately adjacent frequency bands can introduce adjacent-channel interference (ACI) to the desired CDE8PSK signal. Extensive computer-simulation tests have been carried out to evaluate the effects of non-linear distortion with predistortion, in the presence of ACI, on the tolerance of the modem to additive white Gaussian noise. Four different bandwidths of the transmitted signal are considered, together with three different arrangements of the demodulator. The predistorter operates on the baseband signal at the input to the modulator and assumes a prior knowledge of the HPA characteristics. In all simulation tests, an equivalent baseband model of the transmission system is used, and the results are used to determine the preferred modem design. 相似文献

The problem of maximum likelihood (ML) detection of differentially encodedM-PSK signals on Rayleigh fading channels is investigated. It is shown that the solution to this problem can be easily related to previous results [1] and leads to the implementation of a receiver structure based on the Viterbi algorithm and employing per-survivor processing. In this paper we present a new method to simplify trellis‐based decoding of linear block codes. Our method is based on removing (pruning) some edges and states from the trellis representation of the code; the trellis is pruned through some hard‐decisions that are made on received bits whose likelihood exceeds a predefined threshold. We show in this paper how this simplification can be accounted for by a new generator matrix (and sometimes a coset leader) that totally parametrize the new trellis, or, equivalently, the set of allowed codewords after simplification. Extensive simulations show that significant computational savings can be achieved, at a very small loss in coding performance, as long as the operating point and threshold are carefully chosen. Moreover, the application of this technique to iterative decoding of product codes is outlined, and our results show that the simplifications do not hinder the convergence, again, as long as proper parameters are chosen. Many monographs point out that differential encoding and decoding is necessary for ef- fectual information transmission against phase ambiguity while seldom discuss the reason why phase ambiguity will emerge inevitably.Available algorithms are specially designed for certain modulation scheme;these algorithms cannot satisfy the requirement of soft-defined radio,which perhaps demands a uniform algorithm for different modulations.This paper proposes a new opinion on phase ambiguity from the view of probability.This opinion believes that modulating symbol sequence can affect,at optimum sampling epoch,the modulated waveform as oscillating carrier has done,and so the stochastic sequence leads to phase ambiguity.Based on a general signal model,this paper also puts forward a novel universal algorithm,which is suitable for different signals,even some new ones,by configuring several parameters. 相似文献

在中短码长低密度奇偶校验(LDPC)码编码的比特交织编码调制系统(BICM)中,由二分图短圈导致的置信传播(BP)解码器输出外附信息之间的相关性是降低迭代解调/解码性能的主要原因,因此有必要对解码器输出外附对数似然比(LLR)信息进行优化。针对该问题,提出了一种简单有效的LLR线性优化算法。该算法首先基于匹配LLR值应满足的连续性条件,并结合BP解码器输出外附LLR信息的统计特性,对解码器输出LLR信息的条件概率密度函数(PDF)的计算进行简化,推导出了乘性优化因子,据此对解码器输出外附信息进行线性优化。仿真结果表明,与未优化方案相比,对于(504,252) LDPC 码编码的BICM系统,所提优化算法可获得0.6~0.8 dB 的信噪比增益;和推广互信息(GMI)优化方法相比,两者的误码性能接近,所提算法仅差0.1 dB,且具有更小的运算复杂度。 相似文献

It is well known that one of the main drawbacks of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) is the potentially high peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) of the (OFDM) signal. Partial transmit sequence (PTS) is a widely accepted method in reducing PAPR of OFDM signal. As traditional optimal PTS (OPTS) technique requires an exhaustive search over all the combinations of the allowed phase factors the search complexity increases exponentially with the number of sub-blocks. In this paper, a new precalculated radius sphere decoding (PRSD) is presented. 基于双伽玛(Gamma-Gamma)湍流信道,研究了低 密度奇偶校验码(LDPC)的自由空间光通信多输入多输出(FSO-MIMO)系统迭代检测解码(ID D)算法。针对最优最大后验概率(MAP)算法复杂度高和BP迭代过程 中比特节点后验对数似然比(LLR)震荡现象,结合概率数据辅助(PDA)算法在信号检测中 的良好性能, 提出了一种基于反馈均值的LDPC+PDA系统IDD码算法,采用BP解码方法,经迭代处理,求出 每次内 迭代中比特节点输出的后验信息均值,并将其作为解码器的输出反馈给检测器,从而提高了 解码器传递给 检测器的消息可靠性。仿真结果表明,当误码率(BER)为10-5左右 时,在弱湍流条件下,改进的IDD算法相 对传统的算法具有0.3dB的性能优势;在强湍流条件下,改进的IDD 算法比传统的算法提高了0.65dB 的性能增益。因而,改进的IDD算法能够进一步抑制湍流特别是强湍流的影响,提高了系统 性能。 相似文献

为了在译码性能和复杂度之间取得折中,针对低密度奇偶校验(Low Density Parity Check,LDPC)短码设计了加权比特翻转(Weighted Bit-Flipping,WBF)译码与顺序统计量译码(Ordered Statistics Decoding,OSD)的组合译码方法。在接收端,首先进行WBF译码,如果译码失败,则将原始接收序列送入OSD进行译码,最后输出OSD译码结果,这种组合方式称为WBF-OSD-I译码。为了进一步提高译码性能,考虑到WBF-OSD-I译码算法中WBF译码存在的不可检错误导致译码错误的接收序列并没有进入OSD译码器进行译码,设计了WBF-OSD-II组合译码方式。这种WBF-OSD-II组合译码方式通过比较WBF译出的估计码字与接收序列的距离,根据选择的门限决定是否使用OSD译码,从而进一步降低译码错误概率。仿真分析验证了LDPC短码的WBF-OSD组合译码性能。 相似文献

High‐data transmission rate and reliable communication in underwater acoustic channel is challenging because of limited bandwidth, multipath propagation, and Doppler shift, which results in poor bit error performance. Under this constraint, this paper explains the simulation results of underwater wireless acoustic data transmission system by using quadrature phase shift keying modulation with convolution encoder at the transmitter and proposed Viterbi decoder at the receiver. The decoder algorithm in comparison with MATLAB inbuilt function shows asserting improved results. This paper evaluates the performance of convolution coded orthogonal frequency division multiplexing modem, which is studied over typical underwater channel through an extensive computer simulation and a semirealistic experimentation. The performance of convolution coded orthogonal frequency division multiplexing system is measured in time domain plots, bit error rate curves, and number of bit errors per frame over additive white Gaussian noise and Rayleigh channel conditions. 相似文献
