分析了色散管理孤子(DMS)的基本原理和特性,并通过数值计算对DMS的传输进行了模拟,证实了DMS具有诸多比普通孤子更为优越的性能。同时也对密集色散管理孤子(DDMS)做了介绍,并在数值计算的基础上将其与类线性和普通DMS传输作了比较,发现DDMS在高速窄脉冲情况下有更好的传输特性。  相似文献

从描述光纤中孤子脉冲演化的非线性薛定谔(NLS)方程出发,得到了色散位移光纤中孤子色散管理传输的基本方程.利用对称分步傅里叶方法对方程进行数值求解,研究了色散管理孤子(DMS)在色散位移光纤中的演化特性.结果表明,孤子在周期性搭配具有相反色散性质的色散位移光纤中传输,无论是进行密集色散管理还是经典色散管理,都可以有效地抑制孤子间的相互作用,使得孤子的传输演化特性得到改善,从而提高信息传输的比特率.  相似文献

We present measurements of the temporal evolution of soliton propagation in a dispersion managed fiber transmission line containing one optical bandpass filter in each map period. The pulses expand and compress in time due to the local dispersion with two minima per map cycle, one in the middle of the anomalous and the other in the middle of the normal section of the fiber map. The pulses are nearly transform limited at the minima with Gaussian-like spectra. A new type of soliton behavior is indicated by the fact that the dynamics, measured bit-error rate (BER), excess gain, and pulse stability do not vary with path-averaged dispersion from 0.02 to 0.08 ps/nm/km  相似文献

In this paper, we studied the output characteristics of optical soliton in a passively mode-locked ytterbium (Yb)-doped fiber laser by numerical simulation. The structure of the passively mode-locked Yb-doped fiber laser was studied by modeling and analysis. The influence of the inter-cavity average group velocity dispersion on pulse width, pulse peak power and single pulse energy of optical soliton and self-similar pulse was investigated. Simulation results were very instructive for the practical application of the passiavely mode-locked Yb-doped fiber lasers.  相似文献

Based on an erbium.doped dispersion-managed fiber laser,the characteristics of noise-like pulses under different net cavity group velocity dispersions (GVDs) are experimentally investigated.Results show that the spec-tral bandwidth of noise-like pulse will increase as the net cavity GVD increases and attains maximum when the GVD is slightly positive.The effect of Raman scattering is enhanced due to the temporal width attains minimum.When the net cavity GVD increases continually and further into the positive region, the spectral width begins to decrease and the effect of Raman scattering is suppressed due to the positive dispersion.Our experimental results are in good agreement with the previous prediction of numerical simulation.  相似文献

We present a linear stability analysis of dispersion-managed (DM) solitons controlled by inline narrow-band filters. We show that the filters can destabilize the pulse if they are unsuitedly located in the dispersion map, which is contrary to the case of standard solitons in fibers with constant dispersion. We also show that for such an instability to take place the pulse energy and the dispersion-map strength should be significantly larger than those usually required for practical long-distance transmission. The filter-induced instability of DM solitons will be an issue in the operation of stretched-pulse mode-locked fiber lasers  相似文献

A new approach to generate switching-wavelength picosecond pulses is developed based on a dispersion-managed semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) fiber laser cavity. Gain modulation on a 1.55-/spl mu/m SOA is used together with subharmonic gating of pulses in the cavity. An 8-GHz, eight-wavelength output is obtained with a constant spacing of 0.91 nm between neighboring wavelengths. The wavelength channels have nearly identical peak powers. The total amplitude and time jitter of the output is measured to be smaller than 0.4 ps. The spacing and the number of output wavelengths can be easily tuned by changing the operating frequency and the subharmonic ratio without modifying the optical cavity.  相似文献

The robustness of dispersion-managed (DM) solitons to polarization-mode dispersion (PMD) is studied by numerical simulations. It is shown clearly that DM solitons are robust to PMD, and generally, DM solitons are more robust to PMD than conventional solitons. The robustness of DM solitons depends on both map strength and average group velocity dispersion (GVD). We show that the larger the map strength and average GVD, the more robust are the DM solitons to PMD, which is due to the increased power of DM solitons with the large map strength and average GVD  相似文献

The stability of time-domain transmission control of dispersion-managed (DM) solitons is studied. We show by a linear stability analysis that appropriate positioning of synchronous amplitude modulators in the dispersion map can stabilize the propagation of DM solitons without simultaneous use of bandpass filters when the pulse energy is sufficiently large. It is also shown that the frequency chirp of the pulse at the position of the modulator critically affects the stability  相似文献

提出了一种基于商售光纤构建的适用于精密光谱光频梳应用的100 MHz重复频率色散管理孤子光纤激光器的设计方案.通过采用低负色散光纤调控重复频率、高正色散光纤增大腔内脉冲呼吸比,构建了重复频率为108 MHz、中心波长为1550 nm的基于正色散掺铒光纤的色散管理孤子光纤激光器,该激光器腔内净色散为-0.0023 ps2,直接输出脉冲宽度为70 fs,经光纤压缩后脉冲宽度为48 fs,且脉冲中心波长处在1550 nm.  相似文献
