We present a theoretical framework for recording and reconstructing incoherent correlation holograms of real-existing three-dimensional scenes observed from multiple viewpoints. This framework is demonstrated by generating and reconstructing a modified Fresnel hologram as well as a new correlation hologram called a protected correlation hologram. The reconstructed scene obtained from the protected correlation hologram has a significantly improved transverse resolution for the far objects in the scene compared to the modified Fresnel hologram. Additionally, the three-dimensional information encoded into the protected correlation hologram is scrambled by a secretive point spread function and thus the hologram can be used for encrypting the observed scene. The proposed holography methods are demonstrated by both simulations and experiments.  相似文献

We describe various techniques to synthesize three types of computer-generated hologram (CGH): the Fresnel-Fourier CGH, the Fresnel CGH, and the image CGH. These holograms are synthesized by fusing multiple perspective views of a computer-generated scene. An initial hologram is generated in the computer as a Fourier hologram. Then it can be converted to either a Fresnel or an image hologram by computing the desired wave propagation and imitating an interference process of optical holography. By illuminating the CGH, a 3D image of the objects is constructed. Computer simulations and experimental results underline the performance of the suggested techniques.  相似文献

We demonstrate the validity of wavelet-based processing for recognition and classification of three-dimensional phase objects. One Fresnel digital hologram of each of the three-dimensional (3-D) phase objects to be classified is recorded. The electronic holograms are processed digitally to permit 3-D object information to be retrieved as two-dimensional digital complex images. We use a Mexican-hat wavelet- matched filter (WMF) to enhance the correlation peak and discriminate between the objects. The WMF performs a wavelet transform (WT) to enhance the significant features of the images and the correlation of the WT coefficients thus obtained. We compare the feasibility of a WMF-based object classifier with the matched-filter-based classifier to classify our four 3-D phase objects in a 3-D scene into true or false classes with minimal error.  相似文献

A novel method of three-dimensional (3-D) object recognition is proposed. Several projections of a 3-D target are recorded under white-light illumination and fused into a single complex two-dimensional function. After proper filtering, the resulting function is coded into a computer-generated hologram. When this hologram is coherently illuminated, a correlation space is reconstructed such that light peaks indicate the existence and locations of true targets in the observed 3-D scene. Experimental results and comparisons with results of another 3-D object recognition technique are presented.  相似文献

We present an optoelectronic method to analyze three-dimensional (3D) scenes that is able to detect the presence, and also the position and orientation, of a reference 3D object. The data-acquisition procedure is based on digital holography. A phase-shifting interferometer records a single digital Fresnel hologram of the 3D scene with an intensity-recording device. Holographic information of the 3D reference object is also obtained with the same method. Correlation techniques are then applied to recognize the presence and position of the 3D reference object in the 3D scene. The technique also allows us to detect the 3D reference with a small out-of-plane rotation. Preliminary experimental results are presented that demonstrate the theory.  相似文献

We propose a method for compressing a digital color Fresnel hologram based on vector quantization (VQ). The complex color hologram is first separated into three complex holograms, each representing one of the primary colors. Subsequently, each hologram is converted into what we call a real Fresnel hologram and compressed with VQ based on a universal codebook. Experimental evaluation reveals that our scheme is capable of attaining a compression ratio of over 1600 times and still preserving acceptable visual quality on the reconstructed images. Moreover, the decoding process is free from computation and highly resistant to noise contamination on the compressed data.  相似文献

A method of scale-invariant recognition of three-dimensional (3-D) objects is presented. Several images of the observed scene are recorded under white-light illumination from several different points of view and compressed into a single complex two-dimensional matrix. After filtering with a single scale-invariant filter, the resultant function is then coded into a computer-generated hologram (CGH). When this CGH is coherently illuminated, a correlation space is reconstructed in which light peaks indicate the existence and location of true targets in the tested 3-D scene. The light peaks are detectable for different sizes of the true objects, as long as they are within the invariance range of the filter. Experimental results in a complete electro-optical system are presented, and comparisons with other systems are investigated by use of computer simulation.  相似文献

One of the attractive features of hybrid holographic microscopy, in which the hologram of a microscopic object recorded by an image sensor is numerically reconstructed with a computer, is that the three-dimensional (3-D) information of a recorded object is obtained. The 3-D information has often been extracted by means of changing the reconstruction distance in the numerical reconstruction process, but here we describe an alternative technique that allows for variable viewing angles. That is, the perspective from which the object is viewed can be varied. The approximation used enables use of the fast-Fourier-transform algorithm for numerical reconstruction even in the high-resolution case in which the Fresnel approximation is no longer valid. The resolution of the proposed technique is also discussed.  相似文献

We propose a method of synthesizing computer-generated holograms of real-life three-dimensional (3-D) objects. An ordinary digital camera illuminated by incoherent white light records several projections of the 3-D object from different points of view. The recorded data are numerically processed to yield a two-dimensional complex function, which is then encoded as a computer-generated hologram. When this hologram is illuminated by a plane wave, a 3-D real image of the object is reconstructed.  相似文献

In the past two decades, generation and encryption of holographic images have been identified as two important areas of investigation in digital holography. The integration of these two technologies has enabled images to be encrypted with more dimensions of freedom on top of simply employing the encryption keys. Despite the moderate success attained to date, and the rapid advancement of computing technology in recent years, the heavy computation load involved in these two processes remains a major bottleneck in the evolution of the digital holography technology. To alleviate this problem, we have proposed a fast and economical solution which is capable of generating, and at the same time encrypting, holograms with numerical means. In our method, the hologram formation mechanism is decomposed into a pair of one-dimensional (1D) processes. In the first stage, a given three-dimensional (3D) scene is partitioned into a stack of uniformed spaced horizontal planes and converted into a set of hologram sublines. Next, the sublines are expanded to a hologram by convolving it with a 1D reference signal. To encrypt the hologram, the reference signal is first convolved with a key function in the form of a maximum length sequence (also known as MLS, or M-sequence). The use of a MLS has two advantages. First, an MLS is spectrally flat so that it will not jeopardize the frequency spectrum of the hologram. Second, the autocorrelation function of an MLS is close to a train of Kronecker delta function. As a result, the encrypted hologram can be decoded by correlating it with the same key that is adopted in the encoding process. Experimental results reveal that the proposed method can be applied to generate and encrypt holograms with a small number of computations. In addition, the encrypted hologram can be decoded and reconstructed to the original 3D scene with good fidelity.  相似文献

Binarization of Fresnel holograms by direct thresholding based on the polarity of the fringe pattern is studied. It is found that if the hologram is binarized (i.e., for black and white hologram pixels) in this manner, only the edges of the object are preserved in the reconstructed image. To alleviate the errors caused by binarization, the use of error diffusion has been routinely employed. However, the reconstructed image using such standard technique is heavily contaminated with random noise. In this paper, we propose a novel noniterative method for generating Fresnel holograms that are suitable for binarization. Our method is capable of preserving good visual quality on the reconstructed images.  相似文献

Digital holography, which consists of both acquiring the hologram image in a digital camera and numerically reconstructing the information, offers new and faster ways to make the most of a hologram. We describe a new method to determine the rough size of particles in an in-line hologram. This method relies on a property that is specific to interference patterns in Fresnel holograms: Self-correlation of a hologram provides access to size information. The proposed method is both simple and fast and gives results with acceptable precision. It suppresses all the problems related to the numerical depth of focus when large depth volumes are analyzed.  相似文献

提出了一种基于数字菲涅耳全息和离散余弦变换的数字水印技术.利用全息技术得到原始水印图像的菲涅耳全息图,之后将其嵌入宿主图像离散余弦变换域的中频系数,将水印添加位置和光学系统的几何结构参数作为恢复水印信息的密钥,并且算法属"盲数字水印技术",从而该算法具有较好的安全性和实用性.对算法的测试结果也表明,该算法对噪声,滤波、剪切,旋转、有损压缩等常见的图像处理操作具有较高的稳健性.因此,该算法具有一定的实用价值.  相似文献

This paper proposes a novel approximation for the delays of digital near-field beamforming based on a planar array. An optimized algorithm for the underwater 3-D sonar imaging system based on the novel approximation will also be described. The algorithm is applied to both an evenly spaced planar array and an unevenly spaced planar array. A data path for the optimized algorithm will be illustrated. Comparisons of the memory and the computational requirements between the optimized algorithm and the direct method (DM) beamforming will be presented. Comparisons of the proposed approximation and the Fresnel approximation will also be demonstrated. This paper illustrates that the proposed approximation enlarges the validity region of the system's view scene as compared with the Fresnel approximation. The optimized algorithm has the advantage of reducing the memory requirements for parameter storage comparing with DM beamforming.   相似文献

The conventional Hough transform is implemented with a computer-generated hologram. The transmission function of the computer-generated hologram is computed with an extension of Bryngdahl's technique, which incorporates branch-point phase singularities. With this implementation it is shown that the branch-point technique can be used to implement point transforms successfully with an implicit transformation equation such as the Hough transform. This is done first by expression of the implicit transform in terms of several explicit transforms. After computation of the complex-valued transmission functions of the explicit transform, the functions are added together to form the transmission function for the implicit transform. Results are obtained by computation of Fresnel diffraction patterns of the Hough-transform computer-generated hologram, illuminated by different input images.  相似文献

在印刷半色调图像中嵌入特定信息可用于印刷品的保护和认证。设计了一种新颖的应用于非数字形式印刷半色调图像中的信息隐藏算法,将原始水印信息制成菲涅耳全息图,以此作为水印信息,利用离散小波变换算法嵌入到宿主图像中,以实现信息隐藏。该算法利用全息图独特的不可撕毁性来增强水印的鲁棒性。实验结果表明,该算法对图像半色调化攻击具有较好的鲁棒性。  相似文献

An approximate method for generating computer-generated holograms (CGH) of a 3D object with six times faster speed than the conventional algorithm is presented. In the conventional algorithm, a 3D object is sliced into many layers and treated as a collection of self-illuminated point light source. The propagation process of a light ray from every point of an object to all the points on the hologram plane is simulated and interfered with by the reference beam to form a CGH. In our proposed method, under the assumption that the depth of a 3D object is much smaller than the recording distance, we just need to calculate the oblique distance between the first layer and the hologram plane, and then the oblique distances from the other layers to the hologram plane can be obtained from a simple relation, thus the computational time is much reduced. The CGH is optically reconstructed and the quality of the reconstructed image agrees well with that from the conventional algorithm.  相似文献

The equations to reconstruct an image plane from a hologram are developed. This development is carried out for planes parallel to the hologram, which allows fast computation through the use of fast Fourier transforms. Algorithms for a digital computer are developed so images can be reconstructed, both with and without the Fresnel approximation, from a digitized hologram without the need for three-dimensional optical reconstruction equipment. Examples of holographically recorded images of marine micro-organisms are shown. A computational method for counting the number of micro-organisms in the holographically recorded volume is developed, and an example is provided.  相似文献

A method for accelerating the synthesis of computer-generated three-dimensional (3-D) holograms, based on conventional ray tracing, is proposed. In ray tracing, computers expend almost all of their resources in calculating the 3-D distances between each one of the point sources composing an object and a sampling point on the hologram. We present recurrence formulas that precisely compute the distances and reduce the computation time for synthesizing holograms to one half to one quarter, depending on the processor type. We demonstrate that a full-parallax hologram with an area of 4800 x 4800 pixels, synthesized for a 3-D object containing 966 point sources of light, is computed within 17 min and is optically reconstructed.  相似文献

Abstract

A generalized solution in the scope of the Fresnel approximation for diffractive optical elements producing focal curves is derived in this paper. The method includes planar and non-planar focal lines parametrized by differentiable functions and different types of holograms (Fourier, Fresnel). The integral describing the complex amplitude distribution generated by such a focal curve is evaluated with the help of the stationary phase method and the points in the hologram plane contributing to a particular point of the focal curve are found to be circles or straight lines. As the result equations for stationary points turn out to be solvable analytically only in some specific cases, an approximate approach is proposed additionally. In this way the class of analytic solutions for non-planar curves can be broadened into cases for which there exists a solution related to their projection on to the hologram plane. The paper is completed by presentation of non-paraxial ray tracing diagrams for elements designed with the help of both methods.  相似文献
