本文报道了基于自行研制的半导体光放大器(SOA)的四波混频(FWM)型全光波长转换,采用环型腔掺铒光纤激光器(EDFL)作为泵浦源,实现了转换波长的连续可调。并就波长转换间距、光放大器的小信号增益和输入泵浦光功率对转换效率的影响进行了理论与实验分析,结果表明高的SOA增益和较大的输入泵浦光功率须利于转换效率的提高。  相似文献

实验研究了基于半导体光放大器(SOA)的四波混频(FWM)效应的单抽运光正交频分复用(OFDM)信号的波长变换系统.信号光源和抽运光源分别由两个不同输出波长的可调分布反馈式激光器(DFB-LD)产生.信号光源经2.5 Gb/s OFDM的电信号直接调制后再和抽运光源耦合,经光放大器后在SOA实现波长变换.实验结果显示,耦合信号经SOA四波混频效应后,产生新波长的信号光将携带OFDM信号,且转换效率与信号光和抽运光的功率、波长以及两者的偏振夹角有关.同时也测量了转换的OFDM信号的功率-误码曲线和接收星座图.  相似文献

In this letter, we propose two methods to enhance the performance of multichannel wavelength conversion of return-to-zero differential phase-shift-keying signal in a semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) based on four-wave-mixing effect. The first one is optimizing the relative time delay of the multichannel signal to reduce the crosstalk-induced penalty in SOA. The second one is using the synchronous clock pumping to raise the power of converted signal. The experiment on wavelength conversion of two channels at 10-Gb/s signal showed the power penalty was improved more than 1 dB in the first method and about 1.5 dB in the second method.  相似文献

An approach to generating a frequency-tripled millimeter-wave (mm-wave) signal based on four-wave mixing (FWM) in a semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) is experimentally demonstrated. In the proposed system, two phase-correlated optical wavelengths generated by an optical phase-locked loop (OPLL) are used as two pumps to generate the FWM process in the SOA. Two idlers with a wavelength spacing three times that of the two pump wavelengths are obtained. The two pump wavelengths are then removed by two cascaded fiber Bragg gratings serving as an optical notch filter. By beating the two idlers at a photodetector, an mm-wave with a frequency that is three times that of the OPLL reference source is generated  相似文献

In this paper, the properties of the optical phase-locked loop(PLL) based on the four-wave mixing in the semiconductor laser amplifiers (SLAs) are discussed. The components that achieve the function of detecting the bit phase of the input optical signal are concerned and discussed in detail together as a function module named as the optical bit phase detector referred to the general electronic PLL. Therefore, most of the properties of the optical PLL can be analyzed by applying the general phase-locked theory. Here the stability of the optical PLL is discussed. It's shown that the variance of input signal power in the practical application will cause optical PLL system unstable because of its long loop delay. The influence on the output phase jitter of the optical PLL is also investigated.  相似文献

Performances of wavelength converted signal by cross phase modulation (XPM) using semiconductor optical amplifiers (SOA's) were studied by the use of the multi-section model. Results show that they are related to both the phase arm bias current of the XPM wavelength converter and its operation. When the conversion is under the in-phase operation, the peak extinction ratio (ER) and the chirp frequency of the converted signal increase according to the decrease of the phase arm bias current, but the input signal power dynamic range decreases. When the converter is under the out-of-phase operation, the chirp frequency decreases with the decrease of the phase arm bias current, while the peak ER and the input power dynamic range keep almost the same when the phase arm bias current changes.  相似文献

We report on cavity-enhanced four-wave mixing (FWM) in 1.55-mum semiconductor ring lasers (SRLs). External optical injection into one of the cavity modes of the ring laser induces a FWM signal up to detuning frequencies of 1.5 THz. Mode-locked signals at 34.5 GHz with a linewidth as small as 5 kHz were measured. Initial results show similar characteristics with a distributed feedback laser monolithically integrated next to the SRL.  相似文献

在入射脉冲为啁啾高斯脉冲条件下,考虑到各信道内比特序列初始相位和比特模式的随机性,建立了啁啾高斯脉冲色散管理波分复用系统中的简并四波混频噪声的半解析理论计算模型。并详细推导了啁啾高斯脉冲在色散管理光纤链路中的脉冲振幅表达式。色散图由两段群速度色散绝对值大小相等、符号相反且长度可变的光纤构成。通过对此模型仿真计算得到:脉冲特征宽度对 FWM 噪声标准差的影响比较明显,FWM 噪声标准差值随脉冲特征宽度的增加而增加;当脉冲特征宽度较小时,啁啾参数值对 FWM 效应产生较大的影响,优化啁啾参数值可进一步降低 FWM 噪声标准差值;优化的色散管理方案可以使得噪声标准差有较小的值;对局部群速度色散系数绝对值进行优化,可得到较小噪声标准差值。  相似文献

本文将半导体光放大器的ASE噪声功率引入到SOA分段动态模型,得到随SOA长度变化的ASE噪声功率,并讨论了偏置电流、泵浦光功率、SOA长度对变换性能影响.理论计算结果表明,大的偏置电流有利于提高消光比(ER)和信噪比(SNR);对于长度一定的SOA和一定的偏置电流,泵浦光功率存在最佳值;SOA长度存在信噪比最佳值.我们对2.5Gbit/s SDH信号进行了XGM方式波长变换,实验结果与理论分析一致.  相似文献

We present a numerical analysis of mean relative intensity noise (RIN) transfer in a fiber Raman amplifier (FRA) using multiple-wavelength pumps. For the first time, the RIN transfer is investigated to include pump-to-pump and signal-to-signal RIN transfers, together with the ldquotraditionalrdquo pump, to signal transfer in a multiple-wavelength pumped FRA. We show that for a multiple-wavelength pumped FRA, pump-to-pump and signal-to-signal RIN transfers induce an increase of RIN transfer magnitude. For a multiple-wavelength counter pumped FRA, in additional to the major pump to signal RIN transfer, pump-to-pump RIN transfer is considerable, and signal-to-signal RIN transfer is very small. For a multiple-wavelength co-pumped FRA, both pump-to-pump and signal-to-signal RIN transfers increase RIN transfer magnitude significantly. In addition, for both a co- and counter pumped FRAs, particularly for the co-pumped FRA, the longer wavelength signals experience more RIN transfer than the shorter wavelength signals. Furthermore, the bandwidth of RIN transfer is significantly increased in a multiple-wavelength co-pumped FRA with multiple input signals compared to a single-wavelength co-pumped FRA with an input signal.  相似文献
