MEDLINE, cancer-CD, SCI-CD addition on CD-ROM

Compact Disc Read-Only-Memory, CD-ROM, is a powerful resource which combines the best features of both online and print access to the literature: multiple access points and leisurely browsing (online accessibility without a modem or without its cost). Applied to the MEDLINE database, this technology has created a brand new market, one which is increasingly competitive and therefore evolving rapidly. Five MEDLINE and two non-MEDLINE products are reviewed. The MEDLINE products include: BRS/COLLEAGUE DISC, Compact Cambridge, Ebsco's Core MEDLINE, Online Research System's Compact Med-Base, and SilverPlatter's MEDLINE on CD-ROM. The two other products include: Institute for Scientific Information's SCI CD Edition and SilverPlatter's CANCER-CD. The market is still wide open and the buyer is wise to try before he buys. However, there are great differences between the various packagings of a rather familiar product. In our view, in terms of ease of use, SilverPlatter was the clear winner. Ebsco's product is attractive because of its containment on one CD. Med-Base is the most original and offers special features not found elsewhere. Finally, personal preference is a strong consideration and should not be overlooked.

21世纪是人类全面进入信息化社会的新世纪,信息技术在国民经济中的作用越来越重要。信息网络安全是一个关系到国家安全和主权、政府形象、经济发展、个人利害及社会稳定的重要问题。本文对国内的网络信息安全的现状、存在的问题进行较详细的探讨,并对加强网络信息安全提出几个建议。     

Software reliability allocation based on structure, utility, price,and cost

A software reliability allocation model is developed. This model determines how reliable software modules and programs must be in order to maximize the user's utility, while taking into account the financial and technical constraints of the system. The model is shown to provide a unified approach in which the user's requirements and preferences are formally integrated with the technical structure of the software and its module and program reliabilities. The model determines reliability goals at the planning and design stages of the software project, making reliability a singular measure for performance evaluation and project control. An example for the application of the model is provided     

Microlithography: trends, challenges, solutions, and their impact on design

With lithography parameters approaching their limits, continuous improvement requires increasing dialogues and compromises between the technology and design communities. Only with such communication can semiconductor manufacturers reach the 30 nm physical-gate-length era with optical lithography. Optical lithography is an enabling technology for transistor miniaturization. With the wavelength and numerical aperture of exposure systems approaching their limits, the semiconductor industry needs continuous reduction of the k/sub 1/ factor. Challenges include image quality improvement, proximity effect correction, and cost control. An indispensable ingredient for future success is improvement in the design-manufacture interface.     

A note on Lindenmayer systems,Szilard languages,spectra, and equivalence

We investigate the Szilard languages and the spectra of Lindenmayer systems through the generalization of Lindenmayer systems toK-iteration grammars and context-sensitiveK-iteration grammars. Various decidability and undecidability results are presented with respect to the evaluation of Szilard languages and spectra for particularK-iteration grammars. Further, two different definitions of the Szilard and spectral equivalence of twoK-iteration grammars are investigated.Work carried out under a National Research Council of Canada Grant No. A-7700.     

语言同现网、句法网、语义网的构建与比较

网络方法应用于语言研究是语言研究大数据时代的新趋势。语言是一个多层级的符号系统,选择哪种语言单位作为网络节点,选择哪种语言单位间的关系作为网络联结,影响到语言网络的结构和功能。该文梳理了以汉语词为单位,以同现、句法、语义关系为联结依据的几类网络构造方法,并针对同一文本构造三类网络发现: 句法网络的网络直径、平均路径长度远小于同现网络,实词在语义网络中占据中心节点位置。这提示我们网络分析方法的应用仍要以可靠的语言学理论为指导,从语言学内部出发才能更好解释各类语言网络的差异。

基于北斗系统的高可靠箭载无线定位装置

介绍了一种高可靠、高精度、低成本的箭载无线定位装置;通过解算北斗系统卫星导航电文,实时获取安装位置的定位数据;利用北斗系统RDSS业务短报文通信功能,将定位数据发送给地面手持终端,从而辅助地面搜寻人员快速找到火箭残骸;在产品设计中,除考虑功能性能指标实现外,还针对设备的可靠性开展了大量工作,从导航信号的自主可控性、上下行通信链路的裕度、设备工作的环境适应性以及重要模块的冗余设计等方面进行了总体方案设计;经飞行试验验证,该无线定位装置水平定位精度优于5 m,实现了残骸回收“下车即见”的预定目标。

Positive,monotone, andS-convexC 1-interpolation on rectangular grids

This paper is concerned with shape preservingC ¹-interpolation of data sets given on rectangular grids. Using special rational biquadratic splines, criteria are derived which are sufficient for the positivity, monotonicity, andS-convexity and which, in addition, are satisfied for sufficiently large rationality parameters.

In this paper we are interested in volume matchingC ¹-splines which, in addition, are positive, monotone, orS-convex. Using particular rational biquadratic splines sufficient conditions are derived in form of linear equalities and inequalities, and these conditions are shown to be satisfied for sufficiently large rationality parameters.
