We present an analytical model of the equivalent impedance of an n-turn planar winding sandwiched between top and bottom multilayer media. Although the model's general and compact notation is valid for all systems involving magnetic dipoles and stratified media, perhaps its main application is domestic induction heating systems. The proposed model is based on the vector potential solution of a single-turn coil located between two multilayer media, and this result is extended to n-turn coils. For deterministic computer simulations, Gaussian process models are a standard procedure for fitting data. These models can be used only when the study design avoids having replicated points. This characteristic is also desirable for one-dimensional projections of the design, since it may happen that one of the design factors has a strongly nonlinear effect on the response. Latin hypercube designs have uniform one-dimensional projections, but are not efficient for fitting low-order polynomials when there is a small error variance. D-optimal designs are very efficient for polynomial fitting but have substantial replication in projections. We propose a new class of designs that bridge the gap between D-optimal designs and D-optimal Latin hypercube designs. These designs guarantee a minimum distance between points in any one-dimensional projection allowing for the fit of either polynomial or Gaussian process models. A repairable system is a system that can be restored to an operational state after a repair event. The system may experience multiple events over time that are called recurrent events. To model the recurrent event data, the renewal process (RP), the nonhomogenous Poisson process (NHPP), and the trend-renewal process (TRP) are often used. Compared to the RP and NHPP, the TRP is more flexible for modeling, because it includes both RP and NHPP as special cases. However, for a multi-level system (e.g., system, subsystem, and component levels), the original TRP model may not be adequate if the repair is effected by a subsystem replacement and if subsystem-level replacement events affect the rate of occurrence of the component-level replacement events. In this article, we propose a general class of models to describe replacement events in a multi-level repairable system by extending the TRP model. We also develop procedures for parameter estimation and the prediction of future events based on historical data. The proposed model and method are validated by simulation studies and are illustrated by an industrial application. This article has online supplementary materials. 相似文献

comsis, which stands for communication systems interactive software, is a computer-aided-design tool based on a time approach. It allows the design, analysis, and performance optimization of optical transmission systems by use of various optical devices. comsis allows scalar or vectorial simulations, depending on whether the polarization is taken into account. An overview concerning the optical component models is given. A new model of an erbium-doped fiber amplifier allows the user to describe the amplifier through either physical or system parameters by using silicate or fluoride glass fibers or any other material, provided the user can give a file that contains the amplifier's characteristics. The new model of a single-mode fiber allows the user to describe chromatic dispersion through a constant, a function, or a file (given by the user) and to take optionally into account the Kerr and the Raman effects and the polarization-mode dispersion. The simulation tools that are used to characterize the quality of an optical transmission system are also presented. To show the system's full range of capabilities in the optical domain, we describe examples of wavelength-division-multiplexing and soliton-transmission systems. 相似文献

The fluorescence polarization of uniaxial molecules dissolved in an ordered medium is studied. A theoretical model is developed which relates the polarization of the fluorescence emission to molecular structure, orientation of absorption and emission dipole oscillators and the degree of ordering.
