CeO 2 and CeReO x_ y catalysts are prepared by the calcination at different temperatures ( y = 500–1000 °C) and having a different composition (Re = La 3+ or Pr 3+/4+, 0–90 wt.%). The catalysts are characterised by XRD, H 2-TPR, Raman, and BET surface area. The soot oxidation is studied with O 2 and NO + O 2 in the tight and loose contact conditions, respectively. CeO 2 sinters between 800–900 °C due to a grain growth, leading to an increased crystallite size and a decreased BET surface area. La 3+ or Pr 3+/4+ hinders the grain growth of CeO 2 and, thereby, improving the surface catalytic properties. Using O 2 as an oxidant, an improved soot oxidation is observed over CeLaO x_ y and CePrO x_ y in the whole dopant weight loading and calcination temperature range studied, compared with CeO 2. Using NO + O 2, the soot conversion decreased over CeLaO x_ y catalysts calcined below 800 °C compared with the soot oxidation over CeO 2_ y. CePrO x_ y, on the other hand, showed a superior soot oxidation activity in the whole composition and calcination temperature range using NO + O 2. The improvement in the soot oxidation activity over the various catalysts with O 2 can be explained based on an improvement in the external surface area. The superior soot oxidation activity of CePrO x_ y with NO + O 2 is explained by the changes in the redox properties of the catalyst as well as surface area. CePrO x_ y, having 50 wt.% of dopant, is found to be the best catalyst due to synergism between cerium and praseodymium compared to pure components. NO into NO 2 oxidation activity, that determines soot oxidation activity, is improved over all CePrO x catalysts. 相似文献

Ceria (CeO 2) and rare-earth modified ceria (CeReO x with Re = La, Pr, Sm, Y) catalysts are prepared by nitrate precursor calcination and are characterised by BET surface area, XRD, H 2-TPR, and Raman spectroscopy. Potential of the catalysts in the soot oxidation is evaluated in TGA with a feed gas containing O 2. Seven hundred degree Celsius calcination leads to a decrease in the surface area of the rare-earth modified CeO 2 compared with CeO 2. However, an increase in the meso/macro pore volume, an important parameter for the soot oxidation with O 2, is observed. Rare-earth ion doping led to the stabilisation of the CeO 2 surface area when calcined at 1000 °C. XRD, H 2-TPR, and Raman characterisation show a solid solution formation in most of the mixed oxide catalysts. Surface segregation of dopant and even separate phases, in CeSmO x and CeYO x catalysts, are, however, observed. CePrO x and CeLaO x catalysts show superior soot oxidation activity (100% soot oxidation below 550 °C) compared with CeSmO x, CeYO x, and CeO 2. The improved soot oxidation activity of rare-earth doped CeO 2 catalysts with O 2 can be correlated with the increased meso/micro pore volume and stabilisation of external surface area. The segregation of the phases and the enrichment of the catalyst surface with unreducible dopant decrease the intrinsic soot oxidation activity of the potential CeO 2 catalytic sites. Doping CeO 2 with a reducible ion such as Pr 4+/3+ shows an increase in the soot oxidation. However, the ease of catalyst reduction and the bulk oxygen-storage capacity is not a critical parameter in the determination of the soot oxidation activity. During the soot oxidation with O 2, the function of the catalyst is to increase the ‘active oxygen’ transfer to the soot surface, but it does not change the rate-determining step, as evident from the unchanged apparent activation energy (around 150 kJ mol −1), for the catalysed and un-catalysed soot oxidation. Spill over of oxygen on the soot surface and its subsequent adsorption at the active carbon sites is an important intermediate step in the soot oxidation mechanism. 相似文献

Pt supported on CeO 2 and 10 wt.% La 3+-doped CeO 2 catalysts have been prepared, characterised and tested for soot oxidation by O 2 in TGA. The reaction mechanism has been studied in a TAP reactor with labelled O 2. Isotopic oxygen exchange between molecular O 2 and ‘O’ on the support/catalyst was observed and soot oxidation is being carried out by lattice oxygen. TAP studies further show that Pt improves O 2 adsorption and, therefore, 5 wt.% Pt-containing catalysts are more active for soot oxidation than the counterpart supports. In addition, CeO 2 doping by La 3+ leads to an improved support, since La 3+ stabilises the structure of CeO 2 when calcined at high temperature (1000 °C) and minimises sintering. In addition, La 3+ improves the Ce 4+/Ce 3+ reduction as deduced from H 2-TPR experiments and favours oxygen mobility into the lattice. A synergetic effect of Pt and La 3+ is observed, Pt-containing La 3+-doped CeO 2 being the most active catalyst for soot oxidation by O 2 among the samples studied. 相似文献

Reaction activities of several developed catalysts for NO oxidation and NO x (NO + NO 2) reduction have been determined in a fixed bed differential reactor. Among all the catalysts tested, Co 3O 4 based catalysts are the most active ones for both NO oxidation and NO x reduction reactions even at high space velocity (SV) and low temperature in the fast selective catalytic reduction (SCR) process. Over Co 3O 4 catalyst, the effects of calcination temperatures, SO 2 concentration, optimum SV for 50% conversion of NO to NO 2 were determined. Also, Co 3O 4 based catalysts (Co 3O 4-WO 3) exhibit significantly higher conversion than all the developed DeNO x catalysts (supported/unsupported) having maximum conversion of NO x even at lower temperature and higher SV since the mixed oxide Co-W nanocomposite is formed. In case of the fast SCR, N 2O formation over Co 3O 4-WO 3 catalyst is far less than that over the other catalysts but the standard SCR produces high concentration of N 2O over all the catalysts. The effect of SO 2 concentration on NO x reduction is found to be almost negligible may be due to the presence of WO 3 that resists SO 2 oxidation. 相似文献

Mixed oxides of the general formula La 0.5Sr xCe yFeO z were prepared by using the nitrate method and characterized by XRD and Mössbauer techniques. The crystal phases detected were perovskites LaFeO 3 and SrFeO 3−x and oxides -Fe 2O 3 and CeO 2 depending on x and y values. The low surface area ceramic materials have been tested for the NO+CO and NO+CH 4+O 2 (“lean-NO x”) reactions in the temperature range 250–550°C. A noticeable enhancement in NO conversion was achieved by the substitution of La 3+ cation at A-site with divalent Sr +2 and tetravalent Ce +4 cations. Comparison of the activity of the present and other perovskite-type materials has pointed out that the ability of the La 0.5Sr xCe yFeO z materials to reduce NO by CO or by CH 4 under “lean-NO x” conditions is very satisfying. In particular, for the NO+CO reaction estimation of turnover frequencies (TOFs, s −1) at 300°C (based on NO chemisorption) revealed values comparable to Rh/-Al 2O 3 catalyst. This is an important result considering the current tendency for replacing the very active but expensive Rh and Pt metals. It was found that there is a direct correlation between the percentage of crystal phases containing iron in La 0.5Sr xCe yFeO z solids and their catalytic activity. O 2 TPD (temperature-programmed desorption) and NO TPD studies confirmed that the catalytic activity for both tested reactions is related to the defect positions in the lattice of the catalysts (e.g., oxygen vacancies, cationic defects). Additionally, a remarkable oscillatory behavior during O 2 TPD studies was observed for the La 0.5Sr 0.2Ce 0.3FeO z and La 0.5Sr 0.5FeO z solids. 相似文献

The pathway for selective reduction of NO x by methane over Co mordenite cataysts has been studied by comparing the rates of the individual reactions (NO oxidation, CH 4 oxidation, NO 2 reduction) with that of the combined reaction (NO + O 2 + CH 4). Co (+2) was exchanged into H-MOR and Na-MOR to give catalysts with different metal loading and number of support protons. Additionally, exchanged Co (+2) ions were precipitated with NaOH to produce dispersed cobalt oxide on Na-MOR. The NO oxidation rate is the same for ion exchanged Co (+2) ions in H-MOR and Na-MOR, but the rate of Co (+2) ions is much lower than that of cobalt oxide. NO oxidation equilibrium is obtained only for those catalysts with high metal loading, cobalt oxide or run at low GHSV. Under the conditions of selective catalytic reduction, methane oxidation by O 2 is low for all catalysts. The turnover frequency of Co on Na-MOR, however, is higher than that on H-MOR. The rate of NO 2 reduction to N 2 is directly proportional to the number of support acid sites and independent of the amount of Co. Comparison of the rates and selectivities for the individual reactions with the combined reaction of NO + O 2 + CH 4 indicates that there are two types of catalysts. For the first, the NO oxidation is in equilibrium and the rate determining step is reduction of NO 2. For these catalysts, the rate (and selectivity) for formation of N 2 is identical from NO + O 2 + CH 4 and NO 2 + CH 4. These catalysts have high metal loading and few acid sites. Nevertheless, the rate of N 2 formation increases with increasing number of protons. For the second type of catalyst, NO oxidation is not in equilibrium and is the rate limiting step. For these catalysts the rate of N 2 formation increases with increasing metal loading. Neither catalyst type, however, is optimized for the maximum formation of N 2. By using a mixture of catalysts, one with high NO oxidation activity and one with a large number of Brønsted acid sites, the rate of N 2 is greater than the weighted sum of the individual catalysts. The current results support the proposal that the pathway for selective catalytic reduction is bifunctional where metal sites affect NO oxidation, while support protons catalyze the formation of N 2. 相似文献

The effect of a commercial Pt/Al 2O 3 catalyst on the oxidation by NO 2 and O 2 of a model soot (carbon black) in conditions close to automotive exhaust gas aftertreatment is investigated. Isothermal oxidations of a physical mixture of carbon black and catalyst in a fixed bed reactor were performed in the temperature range 300–450 °C. The experimental results indicate that no significant effect of the Pt catalyst on the direct oxidation of carbon by O 2 and NO 2 is observed. However, in presence of NO 2–O 2 mixture, it is found that besides the well established catalytic reoxidation of NO into NO 2, Pt also exerts a catalytic effect on the cooperative carbon–NO 2–O 2 oxidation reaction. An overall mechanism involving the formation of atomic oxygen over Pt sites followed by its transfer to the carbon surface is established. Thus, the presence of Pt catalyst increases the surface concentration of –C(O) complexes which then react with NO 2 leading to an enhanced carbon consumption. The resulting kinetic equation allows to model more precisely the catalytic regeneration of soot traps for automotive applications. 相似文献

The activity of several catalysts are studied in the soot combustion reaction using air and NO/air as oxidising agents. Over Al 2O 3-supported catalysts NO (g) is a promoter for the combustion reaction with the extent of promotion depending on the Na loading. Over these catalysts SO 42− poisons this promotion by preventing NO oxidation through a site blocking mechanism. SiO 2 is unable to adsorb NO or catalyse its oxidation and over SiO 2-supported Na catalysts NO (g) inhibits the combustion reaction. This is ascribed to a competition between NO and O 2. Over Fe-ZSM-5 catalysts the presence of a NO x trapping component does not increase the combustion of soot in the presence of NO (g) and it is proposed that this previously reported effect is only seen under continuous NO x trap operation as NO 2 is periodically released during regeneration and thus available for soot combustion. Experiments during which the [NO] (g) is varied show that CO, rather than an adsorbed carbonyl-like intermediate, is formed upon reaction between NO 2 (the proposed oxygen carrier) and soot. 相似文献

The adsorption of HCN on, its catalytic oxidation with 6% O 2 over 0.5% Pt/Al 2O 3, and the subsequent oxidation of strongly bound chemisorbed species upon heating were investigated. The observed N-containing products were N 2O, NO and NO 2, and some residual adsorbed N-containing species were oxidized to NO and NO 2 during subsequent temperature programmed oxidation. Because N-atom balance could not be obtained after accounting for the quantities of each of these product species, we propose that N 2 and was formed. Both the HCN conversion and the selectivity towards different N-containing products depend strongly on the reaction temperature and the composition of the reactant gas mixture. In particular, total HCN conversion reaches 95% above 250 °C. Furthermore, the temperature of maximum HCN conversion to N 2O is located between 200 and 250 °C, while raising the reaction temperature increases the proportion of NO x in the products. The co-feeding of H 2O and C 3H 6 had little, if any effect on the total HCN conversion, but C 3H 6 addition did increase the conversion to NO and decrease the conversion to NO 2, perhaps due to the competing presence of adsorbed fragments of reductive C 3H 6. Evidence is also presented that introduction of NO and NO 2 into the reactant gas mixture resulted in additional reaction pathways between these NO x species and HCN that provide for lean-NO x reduction coincident with HCN oxidation. 相似文献

MnO x–CeO 2 mixed oxides prepared by sol–gel method, coprecipitation method and modified coprecipitation method were investigated for the complete oxidation of formaldehyde. Structure analysis by H 2-TPR and XPS revealed that there were more Mn 4+ species and richer lattice oxygen on the surface of the catalyst prepared by the modified coprecipitation method than those of the catalysts prepared by sol–gel and coprecipitation methods, resulting in much higher catalytic activity toward complete oxidation of formaldehyde. The effect of calcination temperature on the structural features and catalytic behavior of the MnO x–CeO 2 mixed oxides prepared by the modified coprecipitation was further examined, and the catalyst calcined at 773 K showed 100% formaldehyde conversion at a temperature as low as 373 K. For the samples calcined below 773 K, no any diffraction peak corresponding to manganese oxides could be detected by XRD measurement due to the formation of MnO x–CeO 2 solid solution. While the diffraction peaks corresponding to MnO 2 phase in the samples calcined above 773 K were clearly observed, indicating the occurrence of phase segregation between MnO 2 and CeO 2. Accordingly, it was supposed that the strong interaction between MnO x and CeO 2, which depends on the preparation route and the calcination temperature, played a crucial role in determining the catalytic activity toward the complete oxidation of formaldehyde. 相似文献

A new catalyst composed of nickel oxide and cerium oxide was studied with respect to its activity for NO reduction by CO under stoichiometric conditions in the absence as well as the presence of oxygen. Activity measurements of the NO/CO reaction were also conducted over NiO/γ-Al 2O 3, NiO/TiO 2, and NiO/CeO 2 catalysts for comparison purposes. The results showed that the conversion of NO and CO are dependent on the nature of supports, and the catalysts decreased in activity in the order of NiO/CeO 2 > NiO/γ-Al 2O 3 > NiO/TiO 2. Three kinds of CeO 2 were prepared and used as support for NiO. They are the CeO 2 prepared by (i) homogeneous precipitation (HP), (ii) precipitation (PC), and (iii) direct decomposition (DP) method. We found that the NiO/CeO 2(HP) catalyst was the most active, and complete conversion of NO and CO occurred at 210 °C at a space velocity of 120,000 h −1. Based on the results of surface analysis, a reaction model for NO/CO interaction over NiO/CeO 2 has been proposed: (i) CO reduces surface oxygen to create vacant sites; (ii) on the vacant sites, NO dissociates to produce N 2; and (iii) the oxygen originated from NO dissociation is removed by CO. 相似文献

The objective of this work was to study the promotional effect of Pt on Co-zeolite (viz. mordenite, ferrierite, ZSM-5 and Y-zeolite) and Co/Al 2O 3 on the selective catalytic reduction (SCR) of NO x with CH 4 under dry and wet reaction stream. After being reduced in H 2 at 350°C, the PtCo bimetallic zeolites showed higher NO to N 2 conversion and selectivity than the monometallic samples, as well as a combination of the latter samples such as mechanical mixtures or two-stage catalysts. After the same pretreatment, under wet reaction stream, the bimetallic samples were also more active. Among the other catalysts studied with 5% of water in the feed, (NO = CH 4 = 1000 ppm, O 2 = 2%), the NO conversion dropped to zero over Co 2.0Mor at 500°C and GHSV = 30,000 h −1, whereas it is 20% in Pt 0.5Co 2.0Mor. In Pt/Co/Al 2O 3 the NO x conversion dropped below 5% with only 2% of water under the same reaction conditions. The specific activity given as molecules of NO converted per total metal atom per second were 16.5 × 10 −4 s −1 for Pt 0.5Co 2.0Fer, 13 × 10 −4 s −1 for Pt 0.5Co 2.0Mor, 4.33 × 10 −4 s −1 for Pt 0.5Co 2.0ZSM-5 and 0.5 × 10 −4 s −1 for Pt/Co/Al 2O 3. The Y-zeolite-based samples were inactive in both mono and bimetallic samples. The species initially present in the solid were Pt° and Co°, together with Co 2+ and Pt 2+ at exchange positions. Co° seems not to participate as an active site in the SCR of NO x. Those species remained after the reaction but some reorganization occurred. A synergetic effect among the different species that enhances both the NO to NO 2 reaction, the activation of CH 4 and also the ability of the catalyst to adsorb NO, could be responsible for the high activity and selectivity of the bimetallic zeolites. 相似文献

The selective catalytic reduction (SCR) of NO x (NO + NO 2) by NH 3 in O 2 rich atmosphere has been studied on Cu-FAU catalysts with Cu nominal exchange degree from 25 to 195%. NO 2 promotes the NO conversion at NO/NO 2 = 1 and low Cu content. This is in agreement with next-nearest-neighbor (NNN) Cu ions as the most active sites and with N xO y adsorbed species formed between NO and NO 2 as a key intermediate. Special attention was paid to the origin of N 2O formation. CuO aggregates form 40–50% of N 2O at ca. 550 K and become inactive for the SCR above 650 K. NNN Cu ions located within the sodalite cages are active for N 2O formation above 600 K. This formation is greatly enhanced when NO 2 is present in the feed, and originated from the interaction between NO (or NO 2) and NH 3. The introduction of selected co-cations, e.g. Ba, reduces very significantly this N 2O formation. 相似文献

MnO x–CeO 2 mixed oxides with a Mn/(Mn + Ce) molar ratios of 0–1 were prepared by a modified coprecipitation method and investigated for the complete oxidation of formaldehyde. The MnO x–CeO 2 with Mn/(Mn + Ce) molar ratio of 0.5 exhibited the highest catalytic activity among the MnO x–CeO 2 mixed oxides. Structure analysis by X-ray powder diffraction and temperature-programmed reduction of hydrogen revealed that the formation of MnO x–CeO 2 solid solution greatly improved the low-temperature reducibility, resulting in a higher catalytic activity for the oxidation of formaldehyde. Promoting effect of Pt on the MnO x–CeO 2 mixed oxide indicated that both the Pt precursors and the reduction temperature greatly affected the catalytic performance. Pt/MnO x–CeO 2 catalyst prepared from chlorine-free precursor showed extremely high activity and stability after pretreatment with hydrogen at 473 K. 100% conversion of formaldehyde was achieved at ambient temperature and no deactivation was observed for 120 h time-on-stream. The promoting effect of Pt was ascribed to enhance the effective activation of oxygen molecule on the MnO x–CeO 2 support. 相似文献

A series of SiO 2-supported MoO 3, V 2O 5, and Pt catalysts were prepared for the study of model soot oxidation with simulated diesel exhaust gas. Composite samples of Pt with the metal oxides demonstrated higher oxidation activities than the single-component SiO 2-supported MoO 3, V 2O 5 or Pt catalysts in the absence of SO 2 in the reactant gas. Based on the effects of NO 2 on carbon oxidation, a synergistic reaction mechanism was suggested to explain the effects of combining Pt with the oxides: Pt catalyzes the oxidation of NO with gas phase O 2 to NO 2, while MoO 3 and V 2O 5 catalyze the oxidation of carbon with NO 2. Finally, the effects of SO 2 on the carbon oxidation reaction were examined and discussed. 相似文献

A series of CeO 2 promoted cobalt spinel catalysts were prepared by the co-precipitation method and tested for the decomposition of nitrous oxide (N 2O). Addition of CeO 2 to Co 3O 4 led to an improvement in the catalytic activity for N 2O decomposition. The catalyst was most active when the molar ratio of Ce/Co was around 0.05. Complete N 2O conversion could be attained over the CoCe0.05 catalyst below 400 °C even in the presence of O 2, H 2O or NO. Methods of XRD, FE-SEM, BET, XPS, H 2-TPR and O 2-TPD were used to characterize these catalysts. The analytical results indicated that the addition of CeO 2 could increase the surface area of Co 3O 4, and then improve the reduction of Co 3+ to Co 2+ by facilitating the desorption of adsorbed oxygen species, which is the rate-determining step of the N 2O decomposition over cobalt spinel catalyst. We conclude that these effects, caused by the addition of CeO 2, are responsible for the enhancement of catalytic activity of Co 3O 4. 相似文献

Phase changes in high temperature treated (>900 °C) 8 or 20 wt% BaO supported on γ-Al 2O 3 model lean NO x trap (LNT) catalysts, induced by NO 2 and/or H 2O adsorption, were investigated with powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), solid state 27Al magic angle spinning nuclear magnetic resonance (MAS NMR) spectroscopy, and NO 2 temperature programmed desorption (TPD) experiments. After calcination in dry air at 1000 °C, the XRD and solid state 27Al MAS NMR results confirm that stable surface BaO and bulk BaAl 2O 4 phases are formed for 8 and 20 wt% BaO/Al 2O 3, respectively. Following NO 2 adsorption over these thermally treated samples, some evidence for nanosized Ba(NO 3) 2 particles are observed in the XRD results, although this may represent a minority phase. However, when water was added to the thermally aged samples after NO 2 exposure, the formation of bulk crystalline Ba(NO 3) 2 particles was observed in both samples. Solid state 27Al MAS NMR is shown to be a good technique for identifying the various Al species present in the materials during the processes studied here. NO 2 TPD results demonstrate a significant loss of uptake for the 20 wt% model catalysts upon thermal treatment. However, the described phase transformations upon subsequent water treatment gave rise to the partial recovery of NO x uptake, demonstrating that such a water treatment of thermally aged catalysts can provide a potential method to regenerate LNT materials. 相似文献

This paper reports results of studies on structure and activity in soot combustion of nanocrystalline CeO 2 and CeLnOx mixed oxides (Ln = Pr, Tb, Lu, Ce/Ln atomic ratios 5/1). Nano-sized (4–5 nm) oxides with narrow size distribution were prepared by a microemulsion method W/O. Microstructure, morphology and reductivity of the oxides annealed up to 950 °C in O 2 and H 2 were analyzed by HRTEM, XRD, FT-IR, Raman spectroscopy and H 2-TPR. Obtained mixed oxides had fluorite structure of CeO 2 and all exhibited improved resistance against crystal growth in O 2, but only CeLuOx behaved better than CeO 2 in hydrogen. The catalytic activity of CeO2, CeLnOx and physical mixtures of CeO2 + Ln2O3 in a model soot oxidation by air was studied in “tight contact” mode by using thermogravimetry. Half oxidation temperature T1/2 for soot oxidation catalysed by nano-sized CeO2 and CeLnOx was similar and ca. 100 °C lower than non-catalysed oxidation. However, the mixed oxides were much more active during successive catalytic cycles, due to better resistance to sintering. Physical mixtures of nanooxides (CeO2 + Ln2O3) showed exceptionally high initial activity in soot oxidation (decrease in T1/2 by ca. 200 °C) but degraded strongly in successive oxidation cycles. The high initial activity was due to the synergetic effect of nitrate groups present in highly disordered surface of nanocrystalline Ln2O3 and enhanced reductivity of nanocrystalline CeO2. 相似文献

A method to quantify DRIFT spectral features associated with the in situ adsorption of gases on a NO x adsorber catalyst, Pt/K/Al 2O 3, is described. To implement this method, the multicomponent catalyst is analysed with DRIFT and chemisorption to determine that under operating conditions the surface comprised a Pt phase, a pure γ-Al 2O 3 phase with associated hydroxyl groups at the surface, and an alkalized-Al 2O 3 phase where the surface –OH groups are replaced by –OK groups. Both DRIFTS and chemisorption experiments show that 93–97% of the potassium exists in this form. The phases have a fractional surface area of 1.1% for the 1.7 nm-sized Pt, 34% for pure Al 2O 3 and 65% for the alkalized-Al 2O 3. NO 2 and CO 2 chemisorption at 250 °C is implemented to determine the saturation uptake value, which is observed with DRIFTS at 250 °C. Pt/Al 2O 3 adsorbs 0.087 μmol CO 2/m 2and 2.0 μmol NO 2/m 2, and Pt/K/Al 2O 3 adsorbs 2.0 μmol CO 2/m 2and 6.4 μmol NO 2/m 2. This method can be implemented to quantitatively monitor the formation of carboxylates and nitrates on Pt/K/Al 2O 3 during both lean and rich periods of the NO x adsorber catalyst cycle. 相似文献

The catalytic performance of mono- and bimetallic Pd (0.6, 1.0 wt.%)–Pt (0.3 wt.%) catalysts supported on ZrO 2 (70, 85 wt.%)–Al 2O 3 (15, 0 wt.%)–WO x (15 wt.%) prepared by sol–gel was studied in the hydroisomerization of n-hexane. The catalysts were characterized by N 2 physisorption, XRD, TPR, XPS, Raman, NMR, and FT-IR of adsorbed pyridine. The preparation of ZrW and ZrAlW mixed oxides by sol–gel favored the high dispersion of WO x and the stabilization of zirconia in the tetragonal phase. The Al incorporation avoided the formation of monoclinic-WO 3 bulk phase. The catalysts increased their SBET for about 15% promoted by Al 2O 3 addition. Various oxidation states of WO x species coexist on the surface of the catalysts after calcination. The structure of the highly dispersed surface WO x species is constituted mainly of isolated monotungstate and two-dimensional mono-oxotungstate species in tetrahedral coordination. The activity of Pd/ZrW catalysts in the hydroisomerization of n-hexane is promoted both with the addition of Al to the ZrW mixed oxide and the addition of Pt to Pd/ZrAlW catalysts. The improvement in the activity of Pd/ZrAlW catalysts is ascribed to a moderated acid strength and acidity, which can be correlated to the coexistence of W 6+ and reduced-state WO x species (either W 4+ or W 0). The addition of Pt to the Pd/ZrAlW catalyst does not modify significantly its acidic character. Selectivity results showed that the catalyst produced 2MP, 3MP and the high octane 2,3-dimethylbutane (2,3-DMB) and 2,2-dimethylbutane (2,2-DMB) isomers. 相似文献
