Carbon nanotubes can be made soluble in both organic solvents and in aqueous solutions by organic functionalization. In particular, soluble carbon nanotubes can be further derivatized by coupling with amino acids and bioactive peptides. Immobilization of peptides to the external walls of carbon nanotubes may find interesting applications in diagnostics, vaccine and drug delivery, or multipresentation of bioactive molecules. 相似文献

A nanocomposite of nickel oxide/carbon nanotubes was prepared through a simple chemical precipitation followed by thermal annealing. The electrochemical capacitance of this electrode material was studied. When the mass fraction of CNTs (carbon nanotubes) in NiO/CNT composites increases, the electrical resistivity of nanocomposites decreases and becomes similar to that of pure CNTs when it reaches 30%. The specific surface area of composites increases with increasing CNT mass fraction and the specific capacitance reaches 160 F/g under 10 mA/g discharge current density at CNT mass fraction of 10%. 相似文献

Multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWNTs) made highly water‐dispersible by organic functionalization and radiolabeled with Indium‐111 were shown to translocate through the kidney glomerular filter. On p. 225, multinational, multicenter research led by Kostas Kostarelos on dynamic imaging and tissue distribution of MWNTs in live animals is presented. The cover image presents a single plane single photon computed tomography whole body image of a rat following intravenous injection with the In‐111 labeled MWNTs as seen through a 3D carbon NT projection. The radioactivity from carbon NTs was mainly localized in the kidneys, and accumulated in the bladder before clearance in the urine. 相似文献

This report highlights recent progress in the fabrication of vertically aligned carbon nanotubes (VA‐CNTs) on silicon‐based materials. Research into these nanostructured composite materials is spurred by the importance of silicon as a basis for most current devices and the disruptive properties of CNTs. Various CNT attachments methods of covalent and adsorptive nature are critically compared. Selected examples of device applications where the VA‐CNT on silicon assemblies are showing particular promise are discussed. These applications include field emitters, filtration membranes, dry adhesives, sensors and scaffolds for biointerfaces.

采用氨基稀土酞菁与纯化的竹节状碳纳米管发生酰胺反应的方法制备了稀土酞菁化学修饰的碳纳米管,并采用红外吸收光谱和热分析方法对产物的化学结构进行了表征,证明了复合体系中酰胺反应的发生.紫外可见光谱分析表明稀土酞菁与碳纳米管间存在强烈的电子相互作用.通过透射电镜观察化学修饰后的碳纳米管的形貌特征时,发现稀土酞菁大多呈竹节状分布在碳管壁上,其原因是由于竹节状碳管的结构特征和化学修饰的选择性造成的. 相似文献
