On August 28, 1973, at the annual meeting of the APA in Montreal, the American Psychological Foundation announced the recipients of the Gold Medal Award, the Distinguished Contributions to Education in Psychology Awards, and the National Media Awards. The presentations were made by Henry W. Riecken, President of the American Psychological Foundation (APF). Harry F. Harlow received the Gold Medal Award; James B. Maas and Frank J. McGuigan were given the Teaching Awards; and Gerald Jonas, ABC News and Jules Power Productions, the Great Atlantic Radio Conspiracy, Christine Darg, and Elliott Aronson were the recipients of the National Media Awards.
