We show that two chaotic systems in erbium-doped fiber dual-ring lasers can be synchronized by using the output of one chaotic system (called the driving system) to modulate the parameters of the two systems. Numerical calculation shows that when the stiffness of modulation is properly adjusted, the two systems can he synchronized. Simultaneously, we find that when the driving system is in various periodic states, the two synchronized systems can go into periodic states  相似文献

In an analog/digital hybrid subcarrier multiplexed (SCM) transmission, carriers have generally been substituted for transmission signals such as AM vestigal sideband (AM-VSB) AM signals and M-QAM signals to evaluate transmission quality. In practical hybrid SCM, however, carriers are modulated by video signals or digital data, and the amplitude of a multiplexed signal composed of these modulation signals is more compressed than that of the carriers. This causes a decrease in the frequency of clipping of the multiplexed signal at the laser threshold. Consequently, the BER of the M-QAM signal in a practical hybrid SCM is lower than that of the experimental results for the same optical modulation index (OMI). However, it is difficult to prepare many practical modulation signals for experiments in a laboratory. Therefore, there is demand for a bit error rate (BER) analysis method for a multiplexed signal that includes the modulation signals needed to sufficiently evaluate the BER and determine the optimum OMI in a practical hybrid SCM. In this paper, we describe such a BER analysis method that can effectively estimate the BER in a practical hybrid SCM. In practical systems, the BER was greatly improved over the BER of a multiplexed signal of carriers. Furthermore, BER degradations due to clipping can be neglected for the AM signals in setting a practical OMI range. We used this analysis method to study the effective OMI range of AM and M-QAM signals. By assuming modulation signals, the OMI range is enlarged and, significantly, the OMI of an AM signal becomes suitable for setting practical values in AM-SCM transmission. 该文提出通过异结构混沌同步和参数调制实现保密通信的新方法。在发送端将信息信号调制到混沌系统的某个参数中,根据Lyapunov稳定性定理,构造合适的控制器,实现了异结构混沌系统的完全同步;在接受端采用非线型滤波器,使信息信号得以有效地恢复,实现信号安全保密传输。仿真结果表明,系统快速达到同步,经参数调制的信号能有效恢复,成功地实现保密通信,具有较强的保密性和实用性。  相似文献

We propose and demonstrate a scheme for generating synchronized chaotic mode hopping in two wavelength-tunable lasers. Chaotic mode hopping resulting in large hops in wavelength is induced by delayed feedback of an electrical signal proportional to the intensity of the laser output which passes through an optical filter. Mode hopping among up to 11 modes was experimentally observed and optical signals in each wavelength band show a different on-off modulation time series. Analysis of the time series indicates high dimensionality. By using a unidirectional coupling method that injects part of the output of one laser into another, we can synchronize the chaotic mode hopping of two separate lasers and obtain synchronized chaotic on-off modulation patterns in multiple corresponding wavelength bands. The robustness of the synchronization with respect to the parameter mismatch and the effects of the coupling strength are investigated. The chaotic mode hopping dynamics and synchronization are well described with a numerical model that includes the characteristics of the laser tuning and the filter transmission. A multiplexed data transmission scheme using chaotic carriers is proposed and experiments demonstrate that multiple messages can be simultaneously recovered when chaos synchronization is achieved  相似文献

We demonstrate that two chaotic systems, each made by two coupled semiconductor lasers, can be synchronized using direct-optical feedback. The robustness of the proposed synchronization scheme against mismatch of source parameters and difference in starting conditions is tested by numerical simulations. Recently, optical phase modulation has been widely used in microwave photonics (MWP) systems, such as radio over fiber systems, photonic microwave filters, optical microwave and millimeter-wave signal generators, and optical subcarrier frequency up-converters. An optical phase-modulated signal can be converted to an intensity-modulated signal in a dispersive optical fiber. Due to the intrinsic nonlinearity of optical phase modulation, for linear applications such as microwave signal distribution and filtering, the modulation index should be kept small to minimize the unwanted modulation nonlinearity. However, for nonlinear applications such as microwave frequency multiplication and subcarrier frequency upconversion, the modulation index should be large to maximize the frequency multiplication and upconversion efficiency. In this paper, for the first time to our knowledge, we develop a thorough theoretical framework for the characterization of phase-modulation-based MWP systems, in which the phase modulation to intensity modulation conversion is realized using a dispersive fiber. Analytical models for the distributions of single-tone and two-tone microwave signals and for microwave frequency multiplication and subcarrier frequency upconversion are developed, which are verified by numerical simulations. The analytical models for single-tone and two-tone transmissions are further confirmed by experiments. The developed analytical models provide an accurate mathematical tool in designing phase-modulation-based MWP systems.  相似文献

论文研究了新近提出的Liu混沌系统(2004)的模糊反馈同步方法。Liu混沌系统结构不同于以往的连续混沌系统,本文基于T-S(Takagi-Sugeno)模糊模型重构了Liu混沌系统;然后用Lyapunov理论和反馈同步的思想推导了两个重构的Liu系统同步的稳定性条件,并给出了误差系统以衰减率全局渐近稳定的充分条件;最后基于LMI方法进行了仿真实验。良好的仿真结果验证了本文算法的有效性和快速性。  相似文献

In radio over fiber (RoF) systems, two subcarrier modulations (SCMs), i.e., single-sideband (SSB) and tandem single-sideband (TSSB), have been widely used. Both SSB and TSSB SCMs can be obtained using optical Mach-Zehnder modulators. In this paper, the authors theoretically investigate the impact of harmonic distortion and intermodulation distortion in RoF systems for one wavelength carrying two radio frequency (RF) signals with either SSB or TSSB SCM. It is found that nonlinear distortion can be reduced when the frequency difference of two RF signals is /spl sim/ 1 GHz compared with /spl sim/ 2 GHz and higher for both TSSB and SSB SCMs, particularly for large modulation indexes. When the frequency difference of RF signals is /spl sim/ 2 GHz and beyond, either a small modulation index or a medium modulation index combined with a minimum RF of 6 GHz must be used, and a large modulation index cannot be used due to serious nonlinear distortion. Comparison of SSB and TSSB SCMs with uniform distribution of optical signal subcarriers in a dense wavelength-division-multiplexing RoF system with channel spacing of 12.5 GHz shows by simulation that SSB SCM is better (worse) than TSSB SCM for small (large) modulation indexes.  相似文献

利用混沌驱动同步法研究了在电流调制下的半导体激光器的混沌同步。首先数值计算了系统最大Lyapunov指数随调制强度的变化情况,确定了激光器处于混沌态的参数区间。然后分别实现了同地激光器系统和异地激光器系统的混沌驱动同步。响应激光器间相关系数的数值计算表明,两种激光器系统均能达到很好的混沌同步。以三个响应激光器为例,将响应系统推广到多个激光器,并且实现了两种激光器系统的混沌同步。  相似文献

This paper presents an efficient Radio Resource Management (RRM) strategy for adaptive Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) cellular systems. In the proposed strategy, only those users who have the same distance from their base stations can reuse a same subcarrier. This can guarantee the received Carrier-to-Interference ratio (C/I) of each subcarrier to be acceptable as required by system planning. Then by employing different modulation scheme on each subcarrier according to its received C/I, system spectral efficiency can be gracefully increased. Analytical and simulation results show that the spectral efficiency is improved by 40% without sacrificing the Bit Error Rate (BER) performance and call blocking probability and system capacity of the proposed strategy is better than conventional systems.  相似文献

In this paper, we provide the design criteria of the nonlinear companding transforms for reduction in peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) of multi-carrier modulation (MCM) signals, which can enable the original MCM signals to be transformed into the desirable distribution. As examples, some novel nonlinear companding transforms have been proposed to transform the amplitude or power of the original MCM signals into uniform distribution, which can effectively reduce the PAPR for different modulation formats and subcarrier sizes without any complexity increase and bandwidth expansion. It has been shown by computer simulations that the proposed schemes can significantly improve the performance of MCM systems including bit-error-rate and PAPR reduction.  相似文献

Aiming at the problem that in the current electromagnetic environment,the modulation method is complicated,the frequency-consuming equipment increases,the spectrum is congested,and the electromagnetic environment interference increases,the algorithm of OFDM signal detection and subcarrier identification in the background of non-cooperative communication were deeply studied.Using the different distribution states of OFDM signals and single carrier signals in the time domain,a joint characteristic parameter was proposed to solve the existence problem of OFDM in the received signal.For the phase shift and frequency offset problems caused by the channel transmission to the signal,by using the periodic stability the blind parameter estimation was performed to obtain the signal prior information.On the basis of the obtained signal prior information,a multi-level classification and recognition method for non-cooperative OFDM signal sub-carrier signals was proposed.Therefore,a model based on non-cooperative communication system OFDM signal detection and subcarrier modulation identification was designed,and finally modulation identification of unknown signals was completed.Simulation experiments show that in non-cooperative communication systems,OFDM signals and single-carrier signals can be accurately identified,and ideal modulation recognition effects can be achieved on empty subcarriers,QPSK,and 16QAM in the receiver OFDM signal subcarriers,overcoming the channel transmission band The problems of phase shift and frequency offset have improved the accuracy of modulation mode identification.  相似文献

Orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) baseband signals may be modeled by complex Gaussian processes with Rayleigh envelope distribution and uniform phase distribution, if the number of carriers is sufficiently large. The output correlation function of instantaneous nonlinear amplifiers and the signal-to-distortion ratio can be derived and expressed in an easy way. As a consequence, the output spectrum and the bit-error rate (BER) performance of OFDM systems in nonlinear additive white Gaussian noise channels are predictable both for uncompensated amplitude modulation/amplitude modulation (AM/AM) and amplitude modulation/pulse modulation (AM/PM) distortions and for ideal predistortion. The aim of this work is to obtain the analytical expressions for the output correlation function of a nonlinear device and for the BER performance. The technical feasibility of applying a fiber-optic multilevel QAM (quadrature amplitude modulation) subcarrier multiplexing scheme to a multichannel conventional TV signal transport is explored. This transport scheme has some advantageous features. Because a digital subcarrier modulation scheme is used, a high-quality transmission performance is expected to be achieved, if the bit error is sufficiently small over a transmission line and the required carrier-to-noise ratio (CNR) is relatively small among the many candidates of subcarrier modulation schemes. The use of multilevel modulation allows the bandwidth to be efficiently utilized; consequently, up to 40-channel uncompressed digital TV signals are estimated to be accommodated in the frequency region of the VHF and UHF bands, where well-developed and inexpensive electronics can be easily applied  相似文献

Currently, the subcarrier on the satellite communication wireless link has uncertain signal number and bandwidth and non-overlapped frequency spectra of mixed signals, and thus can hardly be separated and identified. Through analysis, a simple and effective estimation algorithm for subcarrier frequency was proposed and the code rate was estimated based on the instantaneous characteristics of the modulated signal. Results show that, using the proposed adaptive separation and recognition method, multiple signals can be effectively separated from the mixed signal, with high precision and strong noise immunity. Moreover, after partition, each subcarrier can be separated by the filter for modulation. The method is characterized by simple principle and ease of implementation.  相似文献

In this letter, we propose a method to reduce the peak-to-mean-envelope-power ratio (PMEPR) of multicarrier signals by modifying the constellation. For$M$-ary phase-shift keying constellations, we minimize the maximum of the multicarrier signal over the sign and amplitude of each subcarrier. In order to find an efficient solution to the aforementioned nonconvex optimization problem, we present a suboptimal solution by first optimizing over the signs, and then optimizing over the amplitudes given the signs. We prove that the minimization of the maximum of a continuous multicarrier signal over the amplitude of each subcarrier can be written as a convex optimization problem with linear matrix inequality constraints. We also generalize the idea to other constellations such as 16-quadrature amplitude modulation. Simulation results show that by an average power increase of 0.21 dB, and not sending information over the sign of each subcarrier, PMEPR can be decreased by 5.1 dB for a system with 128 subcarriers.  相似文献

Bandwidth efficient modulation schemes using Reed-Solomon (RS) codes are proposed for hybrid in-band-on-channel (IBOC) systems that broadcast digital audio signals simultaneously with analog amplitude modulation (AM) programs in the AM band. Since both the power and bandwidth allocated for digital audio transmission are limited in this application, the system cannot afford to add enough redundancy for error control using conventional concatenated coding schemes. We show that by using multilevel RS and convolutional concatenated coded quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM), an efficient modulation schemes can be obtained for applications such as IBOC-AM broadcasting  相似文献

Orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) systems are highly sensitive to synchronization errors. We introduce an algorithm for the blind estimation of symbol timing and carrier frequency offset in wireless OFDM systems. The proposed estimator is an extension of the Gini-Giannakis (see IEEE Trans. Commun., vol.46, p.400-411, 1998) estimator for single-carrier systems. It exploits the cyclostationarity of OFDM signals and relies on second-order statistics only. Our method can be applied to pulse shaping OFDM systems with arbitrary time-frequency guard regions, OFDM based on offset quadrature amplitude modulation, and biorthogonal frequency-division multiplexing systems. We furthermore propose the use of different subcarrier transmit powers (subcarrier weighting) and periodic transmitter precoding to achieve a carrier frequency acquisition range of the entire bandwidth of the OFDM signal, and a symbol timing acquisition range of arbitrary length. Finally, we provide simulation results demonstrating the performance of the new estimator  相似文献
