改写理论的分歧意见析评——兼与王峰、马琰商榷

本文探讨了国内外翻译界对改写理论存在的主要分歧及其成因.认为:Munday所称的三要素实际是文学系统的控制要素,并且和Homby等人的三要素一样,可以归结为两要素,翻译的四个层次也最终归为两个决定要素:意识形态和诗学.译者在翻译过程中受到意识形态和诗学两要素的制约,但译者并非毫无选择,他们可以选择接受,或试图挑战、超越这些约束.

SEED-Pro: Computer-Assisted Architectural Programming in SEED

Computer-assisted architectural programming is in its infancy. What there is in terms of architectural programming theory often differs from practice. In the first half of this paper we define relevant terms, provide a brief review of the state of the art, and draw attention to the primacy of architectural programming in design. SEED-Pro is introduced as an intelligent assistant providing structure to the normally open-ended activities of design. This includes the creation of an architectural program from scratch. In the second, more technical, part of the paper we emphasize three specific topics. The design problem specification functionality is described. The generation and evaluation of the emerging architectural program is discussed. An approach to the decomposition of the architectural program into alternative hierarchies is provided. The paper concludes with a discussion of what is and remains to be accomplished.     

The Bowers Program: Effects of Cross-Disciplinary Design Activities on Architectural Engineering Student Performance

This paper describes the implementation of problem-based instruction program in the integration of architectural design and planning into the architectural engineering curriculum. The program consisted of two components: the use of a problem-based structural design exercise administered to an entire class of upper level architectural and civil engineering students, followed by two design exercises undertaken jointly with architecture and landscape architecture students by a selected group of students from the same class. The effect of participation in the joint design exercises was assessed by means of a final examination question and a questionnaire administered before and after participation in one of the exercises. The results of the assessment indicate that the participants achieved a greater ability to integrate architectural and structural design than the nonparticipants, and that the architectural engineering students have greater ability than civil engineering students to integrate architectural and structural design.

Diffusion of Computer Aided Design Technology in Architectural Design Practice

Computer aided design (CAD) technology is one of the most influential information technology (IT) innovations of the last four decades. This paper studies the factors that influence the spread of this important IT innovation in the context of the Turkish architectural design practice. It builds on the innovation diffusion theory which proposes that internal (i.e., copying behaviors of others) and external influence (i.e., complying with clients’ requirements, changes in government regulations, demand conditions, and consulting firms’ suggestions) factors drive diffusion of an innovation. The paper empirically tests the propositions of innovation diffusion theory by using three mathematical models: The internal influence model, the external influence model, and the mixed influence model. Research findings point out that the mixed influence model has the highest exploratory power. They show that the diffusion of CAD technology in architectural design practice is primarily driven by internal rather than external influence factors. This study is of importance to researchers because this is the first application of the influence models to the study of the diffusion of CAD technology in architectural design practice. It is also of relevance to design practitioners since the findings should provide a useful guide in their decision to adopt or not to adopt CAD technology.

吉恩镍业主厂房澳炉区结构设计

介绍了大型冶炼厂高层主厂房结构设计方案和技术要点,针对工业建筑各层质量分布差异较大、楼板大开洞等情况提出了结构选型须注意的问题和处理方法,为同类工程结构设计提供参考。     

Acquisition of word-processing skills by younger, middle-age, and older adults.

A total of 45 subjects in three age groups (younger, middle-age, older) were trained to word process on microcomputers using a commercial training program and an experimenter-designed test and evaluation protocol. Although all of the subjects mastered the essentials of word processing, the older group took significantly longer to complete the training and evaluation procedures and performed more poorly on a review examination that tested their knowledge of the word-processing commands and techniques. The results are discussed in relation to requirements for trainer assistance, motivational factors, and the need to design training protocols that meet the needs of older adults. Engineering of Architectural Systems

Different aspects of architectural systems are discussed in this study. The definitions of architectural systems and their importance to the building community are presented. The functions of architectural systems are subdivided into primary and integrated functions. The analysis and design of architectural systems for both primary and secondary functions are explained. The applications of the recently popular concepts of performance-based engineering and multihazard considerations to architectural systems are discussed. Finally, the need for design guides for architectural systems is reasoned.
