For a system with n s-independent components, the uncertainty regarding the reliability of components for a fixed point of time is expressed by a Bayesian probability distribution. Using the moments of these distributions, the exact moments of the system reliability distribution are derived, from which a discrete probability density function is obtained on the basis of the principle of maximum entropy. Taking this distribution as a prior distribution for system reliability, a posterior density function for the system reliability is constructed either using the data obtained from life tests conducted at a system level or from field data. For tracking the evolution of the reliability distribution over time, a modified Kalman filter technique, along with use of a Bayesian procedure, is proposed. This method is simple, elegant and easy to compute.  相似文献

We present a reliability analysis of a multiple cold standby system satisfying the usual conditions (i.i.d. random variables, single repair facility, perfect repair, queueing). Each unit has a constant failure rate but an arbitrary repair time distribution. We introduce a basic set of measures related to a stochastic process defined on some filtered probability space. The set of measures constitutes a system of renewal integral equations. The solution is constructed by means of a Cauchy integral. A particular case (deterministic repair) provides some explicit results illustrated by a computer-plotted graph.  相似文献

This paper investigates the system reliability for 155 Mb/s optical transmitters by deriving a system reliability function from reliability data of each component for transmitters, laser diode, photodiode, optical assembly, and driver IC. The reliability data for each component reliability function have been obtained from accelerated aging test. The reliability parameters such as failure rate, mean time-to-failure (MTTF), standard deviation are obtained from a probability plotting method. From the system reliability function, the MTTF of the optical transmitter at 65°C was estimated to be 47000 h with 95% confidence. This paper suggests that there is an additional measurable attribute, system “structuredness” which contributes to system reliability. It examines the effect of the structure of software on the integrity of a system. It shows how intuition fails us, when we accept a less hierarchally structured system and expect it to behave as reliably. “Structuredness”, can be used together with the system availability figure to provide a realistic measure of system integrity. The results of implementing structured programming techniques to increase software reliability are briefly discussed.  相似文献

The problem is discussed in relation to prediction and to measurement, for hardware, software and human aspects of engineering systems. This paper describes the outcome of a study into the feasibility of a reliability circuit simulator for ICs in general and the critical parameters involved in particular. The necessary conditions are formulated that have to be fulfilled before any construction of the reliability simulator is meaningful or can be done at all. It has been found that failure mechanisms in the wear-out regime meet these conditions. Next, a general approach is given to make a simulator. This approach is actually derived from circuit simulator activities on hot carrier degradation and electromigration, respectively. Finally, the different groups of parameters are defined.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with solving a constrained system reliability problem from the literature, which is to maximize a nonlinear reliability function subject to two linear constraints. The variables are positive integers, representing the allocations of the stages. By running on an ordinary personal computer the computer program listed in this paper, the best known solution for a widely-known 15-stage example from the literature was obtained thirteen times among the first eighty candidate solutions of one computer run. The computational results presented in this paper suggest that the computer program listed here can be useful as a model for solving the constrained system reliability problem.  相似文献

In this paper, a two-dependent-unit system is discussed. We assume that the life distribution of the two units is a two-dimensional exponential distribution, and the repair distributions are general distributions, respectively, and the failure unit cannot be repaired “as good as new”.
