Centrifugal investment casting is an attractive method of producing orthopedic implants. This study investigated the effects of low rotational speed of vertical centrifugal investment casting on the microstructural characteristics, porosities and hardness of a titanium femoral knee. The centrifugal investment casting was conducted at 45-65 rpm. The microstructure, defects and microhardness of titanium resulting from centrifugal investment casting were discussed. Experimental results showed that centrifugal casting at a rotational speed of 45-65 rpm could obtain the casting without damaging the surface. The largest inner defect was typically the shrinkage because of the solidification process beneath the smallest parts. The microstructure transformed from a fine grain on the subsurface to a slightly coarse one in the inner region. Microhardness profiles on the cross section presented a decreasing tendency from the surface to the inner region because of the shift of the microstructure. 相似文献

环件铸辗复合成形工艺具有缩短工艺流程、高效和节能节材等优点,研究铸态环坯在铸辗复合成形工艺下的高温变形行为,揭示其组织演变机理,是实现材料在该成形工艺中成形与成性的关键。在不同变形条件下对砂型铸造和离心铸造Q235B法兰坯进行高温压缩试验,分析其流变应力的变化,推导出二者的本构方程。综合变形温度和应变速率对材料微观结构与性能的影响,建立基于动态材料模型的加工图。试验结果表明:二者的流变应力随着应变速率的增加和变形温度的降低而增大。离心铸造法兰坯的流变应力较低,动态再结晶易于发生,且功耗效率值及其变化幅度都要大于砂型铸造,表明了其显微组织变化剧烈,演变更加充分。结合二者的热加工图及其识别出的典型区域显微组织,获得了适合该法兰坯辗扩工艺的热力参数范围,离心铸造可为法兰坯铸辗复合成形工艺提供高质量的铸坯。 相似文献

Squeeze casting is a hybrid metal forming process combining features of both casting and forging in one operation. This paper reports a research in which an attempt was made to prepare solid cylindrical components of LM24 aluminum alloy through squeeze casting. The primary objective was to investigate the effect of process parameters on the mechanical properties exhibited by the castings produced though squeeze casting process. A set of trials were conducted based on parameters settings suggested in Taguchi’s offline quality control concept. The experimental results indicate that the squeeze pressure and the die-preheating temperature were the parameters making significant contribution toward improvement in mechanical properties of squeeze cast LM24 aluminum alloy. 相似文献

建立了离心力场下铸造充型流动的数学模型,采用VC++语言自行编制了离心力场铸造充型及凝固传热的计算机模拟软件。通过模拟旋转圆柱容器中的液体从重力静止水平自由表面状态过渡到离心抛物面自由表面的动态变化过程,并与理论解析曲线对比,以及钛合金薄壁件离心浇注充型状态与试验结果的对比,检验了所建立的理论模型及计算程序的正确性。通过对钛合金薄壁铸件在重力场与离心力场浇注工艺条件下合金熔体充型行为数值模拟结果的对比表明,在一定转速条件下,金属液的离心浇注比重力浇注具有强得多的薄壁充型能力。 相似文献

连铸生产过程与状态的实时跟踪记录,对提高钢厂生产效率与铸坯产品质量非常重要,但由于连铸过程的复杂性和不确定性,很难建立精确的数学模型来对连铸的生产条件、生产状态进行有效的分析。采用带抑止弧的P赋时有色PetriNet,建立了连铸前钢包炉次传递模型和连铸中钢坯状态跟踪模型,并对生产条件与状态进行了简单有效的分析。结合模型分析结果与采用GE的ProficyHMI/SCADA—iFIX软件现场实时采集的生产数据,在VisualStudio平台中开发出一套完整的钢铁连铸铸坯信息跟踪系统。 相似文献

With the development of casting process and its numerical simulation technique, many demands of realism and clearness in post-processing have arisen. This paper introduces the implicit surface to post-processing for the results of casting simulation so as to meet these demands. In this paper, a robust and fully automatic algorithm is proposed for extracting the implicit surface in the signed distance function calculated from the import stereolithography files. Then several applications of implicit surface in the post-processing of casting simulation are listed in two categories. The applications in the first category include fast rendering of massive data, section view in arbitrary direction, visualization of residual liquid, and casting deformation, giving clear and pretty visualization of the results in simulation, and making it possible for engineers and process designers to look through the opaque mold, gain insights to casting process, and locate possible defects. The applications in the second category involve thickness distribution and modulus calculation, which offer important characteristics of castings and facilitate the optimization of casting processes. 相似文献
