New single‐polymer electroluminescent systems containing two individual emission species—polyfluorenes as a blue host and 2,1,3‐benzothiadiazole derivative units as an orange dopant on the main chain—have been designed and synthesized by Wang and co‐workers on p. 957. The resulting single polymers are found to have highly efficient white electroluminescence with simultaneous blue and orange emission from the corresponding emitting species. A single‐layer device has been fabricated that has performance characteristics roughly comparable to those of organic white‐light‐emitting diodes with multilayer device structures. New single‐polymer electroluminescent systems containing two individual emission species—polyfluorenes as a blue host and 2,1,3‐benzothiadiazole derivative units as an orange dopant on the main chain—have been designed and synthesized. The resulting single polymers are found to have highly efficient white electroluminescence with simultaneous blue (λmax = 421 nm/445 nm) and orange emission (λmax = 564 nm) from the corresponding emitting species. The influence of the photoluminescence (PL) efficiencies of both the blue and orange species on the electroluminescence (EL) efficiencies of white polymer light‐emitting diodes (PLEDs) based on the single‐polymer systems has been investigated. The introduction of the highly efficient 4,7‐bis(4‐(N‐phenyl‐N‐(4‐methylphenyl)amino)phenyl)‐2,1,3‐benzothiadiazole unit to the main chain of polyfluorene provides significant improvement in EL efficiency. For a single‐layer device fabricated in air (indium tin oxide/poly(3,4‐ethylenedioxythiophene): poly(styrene sulfonic acid/polymer/Ca/Al), pure‐white electroluminescence with Commission Internationale de l'Eclairage (CIE) coordinates of (0.35,0.32), maximum brightness of 12 300 cd m–2, luminance efficiency of 7.30 cd A–1, and power efficiency of 3.34 lm W–1 can be obtained. This device is approximately two times more efficient than that utilizing a single polyfluorene containing 1,8‐naphthalimide moieties, and shows remarkable improvement over the corresponding blend systems in terms of efficiency and color stability. Thermal treatment of the single‐layer device before cathode deposition leads to the further improvement of the device performance, with CIE coordinates of (0.35,0.34), turn‐on voltage of 3.5 V, luminance efficiency of 8.99 cd A–1, power efficiency of 5.75 lm W–1, external quantum efficiency of 3.8 %, and maximum brightness of 12 680 cd m–2. This performance is roughly comparable to that of white organic light‐emitting diodes (WOLEDs) with multilayer device structures and complicated fabrication processes.  相似文献

Two blue‐emitting cationic iridium complexes with 2‐(1H‐pyrazol‐1‐yl)pyridine (pzpy) as the ancillary ligands, namely, [Ir(ppy)2(pzpy)]PF6 and [Ir(dfppy)2(pzpy)]PF6 (ppy is 2‐phenylpyridine, dfppy is 2‐(2,4‐difluorophenyl) pyridine, and PF6? is hexafluorophosphate), have been prepared, and their photophysical and electrochemical properties have been investigated. In CH3CN solutions, [Ir(ppy)2(pzpy)]PF6 emits blue‐green light (475 nm), which is blue‐shifted by more than 100 nm with respect to the typical cationic iridium complex [Ir(ppy)2(dtb‐bpy)]PF6 (dtb‐bpy is 4,4′‐di‐tert‐butyl‐2,2′‐bipyridine); [Ir(dfppy)2(pzpy)]PF6 with fluorine‐substituted cyclometalated ligands shows further blue‐shifted light emission (451 nm). Quantum chemical calculations reveal that the emissions are mainly from the ligand‐centered 3ππ* states of the cyclometalated ligands (ppy or dfppy). Light‐emitting electrochemical cells (LECs) based on [Ir(ppy)2(pzpy)]PF6 gave green‐blue electroluminescence (486 nm) and had a relatively high efficiency of 4.3 cd A?1 when an ionic liquid 1‐butyl‐3‐methylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate was added into the light‐emitting layer. LECs based on [Ir(dfppy)2(pzpy)]PF6 gave blue electroluminescence (460 nm) with CIE (Commission Internationale de L'Eclairage) coordinates of (0.20, 0.28), which is the bluest light emission for iTMCs‐based LECs reported so far. Our work suggests that using diimine ancillary ligands involving electron‐donating nitrogen atoms (like pzpy) is an efficient strategy to turn the light emission of cationic iridium complexes to the blue region.  相似文献

Novel blue‐light‐emitting materials, 9,10‐bis(1,2‐diphenyl styryl)anthracene (BDSA) and 9,10‐bis(4′‐triphenylsilylphenyl)anthracene (BTSA), which are composed of an anthracene molecule as the main unit and a rigid and bulky 1,2‐diphenylstyryl or triphenylsilylphenyl side unit, have been designed and synthesized. Theoretical calculations on the three‐dimensional structures of BDSA and BTSA show that they have a non‐coplanar structure and inhibited intermolecular interactions, resulting in a high luminescence efficiency and good color purity. By incorporating these new, non‐doped, blue‐light‐emitting materials into a multilayer device structure, it is possible to achieve luminance efficiencies of 1.43 lm W–1 (3.0 cd A–1 at 6.6 V) for BDSA and 0.61 lm W–1 (1.3 cd A–1 at 6.7 V) for BTSA at 10 mA cm–2. The electroluminescence spectrum of the indium tin oxide (ITO)/copper phthalocyanine (CuPc)/1,4‐bis[(1‐naphthylphenyl)‐amino]biphenyl (α‐NPD)/BDSA/tris(9‐hydroxyquinolinato)aluminum (Alq3)/LiF/Al device shows a narrow emission band with a full width at half maximum (FWHM) of 55 nm and a λmax = 453 nm. The FWHM of the ITO/CuPc/α‐NPD/BTSA/Alq3/LiF/Al device is 53 nm, with a λmax = 436 nm. Regarding color, the devices showed highly pure blue emission ((x,y) = (0.15,0.09) for BTSA, (x,y) = (0.14,0.10) for BDSA) at 10 mA cm–2 in Commission Internationale de l'Eclairage (CIE) chromaticity coordinates.  相似文献

Blue organic luminescent materials play a crucial role in full‐color display and white lighting but efficient ones meeting commercial demands are very rare. Herein, the design and synthesis of tailor‐made bipolar blue luminogens with an anthracene core and various functional groups are reported. The thermal stabilities, photophysical properties, electronic structures, electrochemical behaviors, carrier transport abilities, and electroluminescence performances are systematically investigated. The luminogen TPE‐TAPBI containing a tetraphenylethene moiety shows aggregation‐induced emission, while another luminogen TriPE‐TAPBI bearing a triphenylethene unit exhibits light aggregation‐caused quenching. In comparison with TriPE‐TAPBI, TPE‐TAPBI has stronger blue emission in neat film and functions more efficiently in nondoped organic light‐emitting diodes (OLEDs). High maxima current, power, and external quantum efficiencies of 7.21 cd A?1, 6.78 lm W?1, and 5.73%, respectively, are attained by the nondoped blue OLED of TPE‐TAPBI (CIEx,y = 0.15, 0.16). Moreover, efficient two‐color hybrid warm white OLEDs (CIEx,y = 0.457, 0.470) are achieved using TPE‐TAPBI neat film as the blue‐emitting component, which provide total current, power, external quantum efficiencies of up to 70.5 lm W?1, 76.0 cd A?1, and 28% at 1000 cd m?2, respectively. These blue and white OLEDs are among the most efficient devices with similar colors in the literature.  相似文献

White‐light‐emitting electrochemical cells (WLECs) still represent a significant milestone, since only a few examples with moderate performances have been reported. Particularly, multiemissive white emitters are highly desired, as a paradigm to circumvent phase separation and voltage‐dependent emission color issues that are encountered following host:guest and multilayered approaches. Herein, the origin of the exclusive white ternary electroluminescent behavior of BN‐doped nanographenes with a B3N3 doping pattern (hexa‐perihexabenzoborazinocoronene) is rationalized, leading to one of the most efficient (≈3 cd A?1) and stable‐over‐days single‐component and single‐layered WLECs. To date, BN‐doped nanographenes have featured blue thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF). This doping pattern provides, however, white electroluminescence spanning the whole visible range (x/y CIE coordinates of 0.29–31/0.31–38 and average color rendering index (CRI) of 87) through a ternary emission involving fluorescence and thermally activated dual phosphorescence. This temperature‐dependent multiemissive mechanism is operative for both photo‐ and electroluminescence processes and holds over the device lifespan, regardless of the device architecture, active layer composition, and operating conditions. As such, this work represents a new stepping‐stone toward designing a new family of multiemissive white emitters based on BN‐doped nanographenes that realizes one of the best‐performing single‐component white‐emitting devices compared to the prior‐art.  相似文献

Novel fluorene‐based blue‐light‐emitting copolymers with an ultraviolet‐blue‐light (UV‐blue‐light) emitting host and a blue‐light emitting component, 4‐N,N‐diphenylaminostilbene (DPS) have been designed and synthesized by using the palladium‐ catalyzed Suzuki coupling reaction. It was found that both copolymers poly [2,7‐(9,9‐dioctylfluorene)‐alt‐1,3‐(5‐carbazolphenylene)] (PFCz) DPS1 and PFCz‐DPS1‐OXD show pure blue‐light emission even with only 1 % DPS units because of the efficient energy transfer from the UV‐blue‐light emitting PFCz segments to the blue‐light‐emitting DPS units. Moreover, because of the efficient energy transfer/charge trapping in these copolymers, PFCz‐DPS1 and PFCz‐DPS1‐OXD show excellent device performance with a very stable pure blue‐light emission. By using a neutral surfactant poly[9,9‐bis(6'‐(diethanolamino)hexyl)‐fluorene] (PFN‐OH) as the electron injection layer, the device based on PFCz‐DPS1‐OXD5 with the configuration of ITO/PEDOT:PSS/PVK/polymer/PFN‐OH/Al showed a maximum quantum efficiency of 2.83 % and a maximum luminous efficiency of 2.50 cd A–1. Its CIE 1931 chromaticity coordinates of (0.156, 0.080) match very well with the NTSC standard blue pixel coordinates of (0.14, 0.08). These results indicate that this kind of dopant/host copolymer could be a promising candidate for blue‐light‐emitting polymers with high efficiency, good color purity, and excellent color stability.  相似文献

Blue fluorescent materials based on silicone end‐capped 2‐diphenylaminofluorene derivatives are synthesized and characterized. These materials are doped into a 2‐methyl‐9,10‐di‐[2‐naphthyl]anthracene host as blue dopant materials in the emitting layer of organic light‐emitting diode devices bearing a structure of ITO/DNTPD (60 nm)/NPB (30 nm)/emitting layer (30 nm)/Alq3 (20 nm)/LiF (1.0 nm)/Al (200 nm). All devices exhibit highly efficient blue electroluminescence with high external quantum efficiencies (3.47%–7.34% at 20 mA cm?2). The best luminous efficiency of 11.2 cd A?1 and highest quantum efficiency of 7.34% at 20 mA cm?2 are obtained in a device with CIE coordinates (0.15, 0.25). A deep‐blue OLED with CIE coordinates (0.15, 0.14) exhibits a luminous efficiency of 3.70 cd A?1 and quantum efficiency of 3.47% at 20 mA cm?2.  相似文献

Organic light‐emitting diodes (OLEDs) can promise flexible, light weight, energy conservation, and many other advantages for next‐generation display and lighting applications. However, achieving efficient blue electroluminescence still remains a challenge. Though both phosphorescent and thermally activated delayed fluorescence materials can realize high‐efficiency via effective triplet utilization, they need to be doped into appropriate host materials and often suffer from certain degree of efficiency roll‐off. Therefore, developing efficient blue‐emitting materials suitable for nondoped device with little efficiency roll‐off is of great significance in terms of practical applications. Herein, a phenanthroimidazole?anthracene blue‐emitting material is reported that can attain high efficiency at high luminescence in nondoped OLEDs. The maximum external quantum efficiency (EQE) of nondoped device is 9.44% which is acquired at the luminescence of 1000 cd m?2. The EQE is still as high as 8.09% even the luminescence reaches 10 000 cd m?2. The maximum luminescence is ≈57 000 cd m?2. The electroluminescence (EL) spectrum shows an emission peak of 470 nm and the Commission International de L'Eclairage (CIE) coordinates is (0.14, 0.19) at the voltage of 7 V. To the best of the knowledge, this is among the best results of nondoped blue EL devices.  相似文献

Novel deep‐blue‐light‐emitting diphenylamino and triphenylamino end‐capped oligofluorenes were synthesized by double palladium‐catalyzed Suzuki cross‐coupling of dibromo‐oligofluorene with the corresponding boronic acid as a key step. These oligofluorenes exhibit deep‐blue emission (λemmax = 429–432 nm), low and reversible electrochemical oxidation (highest occupied molecular orbital = 5.15–5.20 eV), high fluorescence quantum yield (ΦFL = 0.61–0.93), and good thermal properties (glass‐transition temperature, Tg = 99–195 °C and decomposition temperature, Tdec > 450 °C). Remarkably, saturated deep‐blue organic light‐emitting diodes, made from these oligofluorenes as dopant emitters, have been achieved with excellent performance and maximum efficiencies up to 2.9 cd A–1 at 2 mA cm–2 (external quantum efficiency of 4.1 %) and with Commission Internationale de l'Éclairage (x,y) coordinates of (0.152,0.08), which is very close to the National Television System Committee standard blue.  相似文献

2‐(2‐tert‐Butyl‐6‐((E)‐2‐(2,6,6‐trimethyl‐2,4,5,6‐tetrahydro‐1H‐pyrrolo[3,2,1‐ij]quinolin‐8‐yl)vinyl)‐4H‐pyran‐4‐ylidene)malononitrile (DCQTB) is designed and synthesized in high yield for application as the red‐light‐emitting dopant in organic light‐emitting diodes (OLEDs). Compared with 4‐(dicyanomethylene)‐2‐tert‐butyl‐6‐(1,1,7,7,‐tetramethyljulolidyl‐9‐enyl)‐4H‐pyran (DCJTB), one of the most efficient red‐emitting dopants, DCQTB exhibits red‐shifted fluorescence but blue‐shifted absorption. The unique characteristics of DCQTB with respect to DCJTB are utilized to achieve a red OLED with improved color purity and luminous efficiency. As a result, the device that uses DCQTB as dopant, with the configuration: indium tin oxide (ITO)/N,N′‐bis(1‐naphthyl)‐N,N′‐diphenyl‐1,1′‐biphenyl‐4,4′‐diamine (NPB; 60 nm)/tris(8‐quinolinolato) aluminum (Alq3):dopant (2.3 wt %) (7 nm)/2,9‐dimethyl‐4,7‐diphenyl‐1,10‐phenanthroline (BCP; 12 nm)/Alq3(45 nm)/LiF(0.3 nm):Al (300 nm), shows a larger maximum luminance (Lmax = 6021 cd m–2 at 17 V), higher maximum efficiency (ηmax = 4.41 cd A–1 at 11.5 V (235.5 cd m–2)), and better chromaticity coordinates (Commission Internationale de l'Eclairage, CIE, (x,y) = (0.65,0.35)) than a DCJTB‐based device with the same structure (Lmax = 3453 cd m–2 at 15.5 V, ηmax = 3.01 cd A–1 at 10 V (17.69 cd m–2), and CIE (x,y) = (0.62,0.38)). The possible reasons for the red‐shifted emission but blue‐shifted absorption of DCQTB relative to DCJTB are also discussed.  相似文献

By attaching a bulky, inductively electron‐withdrawing trifluoromethyl (CF3) group on the pyridyl ring of the rigid 2‐[3‐ (N‐phenylcarbazolyl)]pyridine cyclometalated ligand, we successfully synthesized a new heteroleptic orange‐emitting phosphorescent iridium(III) complex [Ir( L 1 )2(acac)] 1 ( HL 1 = 5‐trifluoromethyl‐2‐[3‐(N‐phenylcarbazolyl)]pyridine, Hacac = acetylacetone) in good yield. The structural and electronic properties of 1 were examined by X‐ray crystallography and time‐dependent DFT calculations. The influence of CF3 substituents on the optical, electrochemical and electroluminescence (EL) properties of 1 were studied. We note that incorporation of the carbazolyl unit facilitates the hole‐transporting ability of the complex, and more importantly, attachment of CF3 group provides an access to a highly efficient electrophosphor for the fabrication of orange phosphorescent organic light‐emitting diodes (OLEDs) with outstanding device performance. These orange OLEDs can produce a maximum current efficiency of ~40 cd A?1, corresponding to an external quantum efficiency of ~12% ph/el (photons per electron) and a power efficiency of ~24 lm W?1. Remarkably, high‐performance simple two‐element white OLEDs (WOLEDs) with excellent color stability can be fabricated using an orange triplet‐harvesting emitter 1 in conjunction with a blue singlet‐harvesting emitter. By using such a new system where the host singlet is resonant with the blue fluorophore singlet state and the host triplet is resonant with the orange phosphor triplet level, this white light‐emitting structure can achieve peak EL efficiencies of 26.6 cd A?1 and 13.5 lm W?1 that are generally superior to other two‐element all‐fluorophore or all‐phosphor OLED counterparts in terms of both color stability and emission efficiency.  相似文献

A new series of charge neutral Os(II) isoquinolyl triazolate complexes ( 1 – 4 ) with both trans and cis arrangement of phosphine donors are synthesized, and their structural, electrochemical and photophysical properties are established. In sharp contrast to the cis‐arranged complexes 2 – 4 , the trans derivative 1 , which shows a planar arrangement of chromophoric N‐substituted chelates, offers the most effective extended π‐delocalization and hence the lowest excited state energy gap. These complexes exhibit phosphorescence with peak wavelengths ranging from 692–805 nm in degassed CH2Cl2 at room temperature. Near‐infrared (NIR)‐emitting electroluminescent devices employing 6 wt % of 1 (or 4 ) doped in Alq3 host material are successfully fabricated. The devices incorporating 1 as NIR phosphor exhibit fairly intense emission with a peak wavelength at 814 nm. Forward radiant emittance reaches as high as 65.02 µW cm?2, and a peak EQE of ~1.5% with devices employing Alq3, TPBi and/or TAZ as electron‐transporting/exciton‐blocking layers. Upon switching to phosphor 4 , the electroluminescence blue shifts to 718 nm, while the maximum EQE and radiance increase to 2.7% and 93.26 (μW cm?2) respectively. Their performances are optimized upon using TAZ as the electron transporting and exciton‐blocking material. The OLEDs characterized represent the only NIR‐emitting devices fabricated using charge‐neutral and volatile Os(II) phosphors via thermal vacuum deposition.  相似文献

Four single polymers with two kinds of attachment of orange chromophore to blue polymer host for white electroluminescence (EL) were designed. The effect of the side‐chain attachment and main‐chain attachment on the EL efficiencies of the resulting polymers was compared. The side‐chain‐type single polymers are found to exhibit more efficient white EL than that of the main‐chain‐type single polymers. Based on the side‐chain‐type white single polymer with 4‐(4‐alkyloxy‐phenyl)‐7‐(4‐diphenylamino‐phenyl)‐2,1,3‐benzothiadiazoles as the orange‐dopant unit and polyfluorene as the blue polymer host, white EL with simultaneous orange (λmax = 545 nm) and blue emission (λmax = 432 nm/460 nm) is realised. A single‐layer device (indium tin oxide/poly(3,4‐ethylenedioxythiophene)/polymer/Ca/Al) made of these polymers emits white light with the Commission Internationale de l'Éclairage coordinates of (0.30,0.40), possesses a turn‐on voltage of 3.5 V, luminous efficiency of 10.66 cd A–1, power efficiency of 6.68 lm W–1, and a maximum brightness of 21 240 cd m–2.  相似文献

A new and synthetically versatile strategy has been developed for the phosphorescence color tuning of cyclometalated iridium phosphors by simple tailoring of the phenyl ring of ppy (Hppy = 2‐phenylpyridine) with various main‐group moieties in [Ir(ppy‐X)2(acac)] (X = B(Mes)2, SiPh3, GePh3, NPh2, POPh2, OPh, SPh, SO2Ph). This can be achieved by shifting the charge‐transfer character from the pyridyl groups in some traditional iridium ppy‐type complexes to the electron‐withdrawing main‐group moieties and these assignments were supported by theoretical calculations. This new color tuning strategy in IrIII‐based triplet emitters using electron‐withdrawing main‐group moieties provides access to IrIII phosphors with improved electron injection/electron transporting features essential for highly efficient, color‐switchable organic light‐emitting diodes (OLEDs). The present work furnished OLED colors spanning from bluish‐green to red (505–609 nm) with high electroluminescence efficiencies which have great potential for application in multicolor displays. The maximum external quantum efficiency of 9.4%, luminance efficiency of 10.3 cd A−1 and power efficiency of 5.0 lm W−1 for the red OLED (X = B(Mes)2), 11.1%, 35.0 cd A−1, and 26.8 lm W−1 for the bluish‐green device (X = OPh), 10.3%, 36.9 cd A−1, and 28.6 lm W−1 for the bright green device (X = NPh2) as well as 10.7%, 35.1 cd A−1, and 23.1 lm W−1 for the yellow‐emitting device (X = SO2Ph) can be obtained.  相似文献

Since the emergence of inorganic–organic hybrid perovskites a few years ago, there have been many promising achievements in the field of green and red perovskite light‐emitting diodes (PeLEDs). Nevertheless, the performance of blue‐light PeLEDs faces challenges. In this work, the unique synergy obtained by introducing two different ligands to successfully form quasi‐2D perovskite films, which can exhibit stable blue‐light emission, is utilized. The fabricated PeLEDs have a maximum external quantum efficiency of 2.62% and a half lifetime (T50) of 8.8 min. Meanwhile, the electroluminescence spectrum with its peak located at 485 nm, demonstrates improved stability by applying different voltage bias. The finding in this work offers a new way to achieve steady blue PeLEDs with high performance.  相似文献

The unique and unprecedented electroluminescence behavior of the white‐emitting molecule 3‐(1‐(4‐(4‐(2‐(2‐hydroxyphenyl)‐4,5‐diphenyl‐1H‐imidazol‐1‐yl)phenoxy)phenyl)‐4,5‐diphenyl‐1H‐imidazol‐2‐yl)naphthalen‐2‐ol (W1), fluorescence emission from which is controlled by the excited‐state intramolecular proton transfer (ESIPT) is investigated. W1 is composed of covalently linked blue‐ and yellow‐color emitting ESIPT moieties between which energy transfer is entirely frustrated. It is demonstrated that different emission colors (blue, yellow, and white) can be generated from the identical emitter W1 in organic light‐emitting diode (OLED) devices. Charge trapping mechanism is proposed to explain such a unique color‐tuned emission from W1. Finally, the device structure to create a color‐stable, color reproducible, and simple‐structured white organic light‐emitting diode (WOLED) using W1 is investigated. The maximum luminance efficiency, power efficiency, and luminance of the WOLED were 3.10 cd A?1, 2.20 lm W?1, 1 092 cd m?2, respectively. The WOLED shows white‐light emission with the Commission Internationale de l′Eclairage (CIE) chromaticity coordinates (0.343, 0.291) at a current level of 10 mA cm?2. The emission color is high stability, with a change of the CIE chromaticity coordinates as small as (0.028, 0.028) when the current level is varied from 10 to 100 mA cm?2.  相似文献

The syntheses are reported of the title polymeric alkoxyPBD derivative 5 and the dipyridyl analogue 12 using Suzuki coupling reactions of 1,4‐dialkoxybenzene‐2,5‐diboronic acid with 2,5‐bis(4‐bromophenyl)‐1,3,5‐oxadiazole, and its dipyridyl analogue, respectively. Thermal gravimetric analysis shows that polymers 5 and 12 are stable up to 370 °C and 334 °C, respectively. Films of polymer 5 spun from chloroform solution show an absorption at λmax = 367 nm, and a weaker band at 312 nm, and strong blue photoluminescence at λmax = 444 nm. The photoluminescence quantum yield (PLQY) was found to be 27 ± 3 %. For polymer 12 , the absorption spectra reveal bands of equal intensity at λmax = 374 and 312 nm, with PL at λmax = 475 nm. Device studies using polymer 12 were hampered by its instability under illumination and/or electrical excitation. Polymer 5 is stable under these conditions and acts as an efficient electron‐transporting/hole‐blocking layer. For devices of configuration ITO/PEDOT/MEH‐PPV/polymer 5 /Al an external quantum efficiency of 0.26 % and brightness of 800 cd/m2 was readily achieved: orange emission was observed, identical to the MEH‐PPV electroluminescence.  相似文献

High‐quality violet‐blue emitting ZnxCd1‐xS/ZnS core/shell quantum dots (QDs) are synthesized by a new method, called “nucleation at low temperature/shell growth at high temperature”. The resulting nearly monodisperse ZnxCd1‐xS/ZnS core/shell QDs have high PL quantum yield (near to 100%), high color purity (FWHM) <25 nm), good color tunability in the violet‐blue optical window from 400 to 470 nm, and good chemical/photochemical stability. More importantly, the new well‐established protocols are easy to apply to large‐scale synthesis; around 37 g ZnxCd1‐xS/ZnS core/shell QDs can be easily synthesized in one batch reaction. Highly efficient deep‐blue quantum dot‐based light‐emitting diodes (QD‐LEDs) are demonstrated by employing the ZnxCd1‐xS/ZnS core/shell QDs as emitters. The bright and efficient QD‐LEDs show a maximum luminance up to 4100 cd m?2, and peak external quantum efficiency (EQE) of 3.8%, corresponding to 1.13 cd A?1 in luminous efficiency. Such high value of the peak EQE can be comparable with OLED technology.
