The design and development of an Abbe-compliant linear encoder-based measurement system for position measurement with a targeted 20 nm uncertainty (k = 2) in machine tools and CMMs is presented. It consists of a linear scale and a capacitive sensor, mounted in line on an interface which is guided in the scale's measurement direction and driven by a linear motor based on the output signal of the capacitive sensor. The capacitive sensor measures the displacement of a target surface on the workpiece table. The functional point, which is the center of a tool or touch probe, is always aligned with the scale and capacitive sensor such that this configuration is compliant with the Abbe principle. Thermal stability is achieved by the application of a thermal center between the scale and capacitive sensor at the tip of the latter, which prevents both components to drift apart. Based on this concept, a prototype of a one-DOF measurement system was developed for a measurement range of 120 mm, together with an experimental setup aimed at verifying the reproducibility of the system for changing ambient conditions of ±0.5 °C and ±5%rh and the repeatability during tracking of a target surface over a short period of time. These experiments have shown that the measurement uncertainty of the one-DOF system is below 29 nm with a 95% confidence level.  相似文献

The presented 3D-ball plate is used for testing machine tools with a workspace of 500 mm × 500 mm × 320 mm. The artefact consists of a 2D-ball plate which is either located by a kinematic correct coupling on a base plate or on a spacer. The spacers are placed between the base plate and the ball plate and are also kinematic coupled to the other elements of the artefact. The kinematic couplings provide a high repeatability of the measurement setup. Because of the specific application the known calibration procedures for 2D-ball plates are not applicable.A calibration method for the pseudo-3D-artefact on a coordinate measuring machine (CMM) is presented, with the aim to minimise the influence of geometric CMM errors. Therefore a computer simulation is used to analyse the effects of these disturbing errors on the calibration of the ball plate and the spacers. Using a reversal method, the plate is measured at four different horizontal positions after rotating the ball plate around its vertical axis. A couple of the CMM errors, e.g., a squareness error C0Y between the X- and Y-axis of the CMM, can be eliminated by that method—others have to be determined with additional measurements, e.g., the positioning errors EXX or EYY of the X- and Y-axis, respectively. The paper also contains a measurement uncertainty estimation for the calibration by use of experiments, tolerances and Monte Carlo-simulations. The achieved uncertainty for ball positions in the working volume is less than 2.1 μm (coverage factor k = 2).  相似文献

A portable device for calibration of trace humidity sensors and an adopted calibration procedure have been developed. The calibration device is based on humidity generation by permeating water through polymeric membrane tubes. Water vapour transmission rates for various polymers were experimentally determined in order to select the most suitable polymeric material. The developed trace humidity generator consists of a gas-flow polymeric hose immersed in a water reservoir thermostated by a sensor-controlled heater. Mole fractions of water vapour between 1 μmol mol−1 and 350 μmol mol−1 (equivalent to frost-point temperatures from −76 °C to −31 °C) were generated by varying either the operating temperature or gas flow. The operating temperature can be varied from 20 °C to 60 °C and kept stable within 0.1 K. Uncertainty analysis indicated that the trace humidity generator produces gas flows of constant humidity amounts with a relative expanded uncertainty less than 3.4% (k = 2) of the generated value.  相似文献

A deadweight-type torque standard machine of 20 kN m rated capacity (20 kN m-DWTSM) has been designed and developed by the National Metrology Institute of Japan (NMIJ) at the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST). Each uncertainty contribution comes mainly from the performance of each mechanical part of the 20 kN m-DWTSM. Authors evaluated the uncertainty of the mass of the linkage weights, local acceleration of gravity, influence of air buoyancy on deadweight loading, initial moment-arm length (including CMM measurement and temperature compensation), and sensitivity of the fulcrum. This report deals especially with evaluation of the remaining contributions, namely the influence of arm flexure and reference line variation at the end of the moment-arm on best measurement capability (BMC). Estimation of BMC in the 20 kN m-DWTSM gave a relative expanded uncertainty of less than 7.0 · 10−5 (k = 2) for the calibration range from 200 N m to 20 kN m.  相似文献

The influence of the alkyl chain length and of the anion on the lubricating ability has been studied for the room-temperature ionic liquids (IL) 1-n-alkyl-3-methylimidazolium X [X = PF6; n = 6 (L-P106). X = BF4; n = 2 (L102), 6 (L106), 8 (L108). X = CF3SO3; n = 2 (L-T102). X = (4-CH3C6H4SO3); n = 2 (L-To102)]. Neat IL have been used for AISI 52100 steel-ASTM 2011 aluminium contacts in pin-on-disk tests under variable sliding speed. While all IL give initial friction values lower than 0.15, real-time sharp friction increments related to tribochemical processes have been observed for L102 and L-P106, at room-temperature and at 100 °C. Electronic microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive (EDS) and X-ray photoelectron (XPS) spectroscopies show that wear scar surfaces are oxidized to Al2O3 and wear debris contain aluminium and iron (for L102) fluorides. For L-P106, the steel surface is covered with a P-containing tribolayer. A change of anion (L-T102; L-To102) reduces friction and wear, but the lowest values are obtained by increasing the alkyl chain length (L106; L108). When the more reactive L102 and L-P106 are used as 1 wt.% base oil additives at 25 °C, tribocorrosion processes are not observed and a friction reduction (69–75% for 1 wt.% L102) and a change from severe (10−3 mm3 m−1) to mild wear (10−4 to 10−6 mm3 m−1) is obtained with respect to the neat IL. 1 wt.% IL additives also show good lubricating performance at 100 °C.  相似文献

The density functional theory calculated pressure-dependent shear strength S of a four-layer slab of KCl on a Fe(1 0 0) substrate is compared to previous calculations for a bilayer slab to gauge the effect of film thickness on the shear properties of the film. It is found that the shear strength varies with pressure as S = S0 + αP, where P is the contact pressure. The resulting calculated values for the four-layer slab are S0〈1 0〉 = 62 ± 15 and S0〈1 1〉 = 65 ± 11 MPa while α〈1 0〉 and α〈1 1〉 are 0.06 ± 0.01. The values are very close to those calculated for the bilayer slab of S0〈1 0〉 = 64 ± 9 and S0〈1 1〉 =69 ± 8 MPa and α〈1 0〉 and α〈1 1〉 of 0.05 ± 0.01, and in reasonable agreement with the experiment values. These results suggest that the thickness of the film does not have a profound effect on the shear properties.  相似文献

In this article, a new data pre-processing method has been suggested to detect and classify vertebral column disorders and lumbar disc diseases with a high accuracy level. The suggested pre-processing method is called the Mean Shift Clustering-Based Attribute Weighting (MSCBAW) and is based primarily on mean shift clustering algorithm finding the number of the sets automatically. In this study, we have used two different datasets including lumbar disc diseases (with two classes-our database) and vertebral column disorders datasets (with two or three classes) taken from UCI (University of California at Irvine) machine learning database to test the proposed approach. The MSCBAW method is working as follows: first of all, the centres of the sets automatically for each characteristics in dataset by using the mean shift clustering algorithm are computed. And then, the mean values of each property in dataset are calculated. The weighted datasets by multiplying these mean values by each property value in the dataset that have been obtained by dividing the above mentioned mean values by the centres of the sets belonging to the relevant property are achieved. After the data weighting stage, three different classification algorithms that included the k-NN (k-Nearest Neighbour), RBF–NN (Radial Basis Function–Neural Network) and SVM (Support Vector Machine) classifying algorithms have been used to classify the datasets. In the classification of vertebral column disorders dataset with two classes (normal or abnormal), while the obtained classification accuracies and kappa values were 78.70% ± 0.455 (the classification accuracy ± standard deviation), 81.93% ± 0.899, and 80.32% ± 0.56 using SVM, k-NN (for k = 1), and RBF–NN classifiers, respectively, the combinations of MSCBAW and SVM, k-NN (for k = 1), and RBF–NN classifiers were obtained 99.03% ± 0.977, 99.67% ± 0.992, and 99.35% ± 0.9852, respectively. In the classification of second dataset named vertebral column disorders dataset with three classes (Normal, Disk Hernia, and Spondylolisthesis), while the obtained classification accuracies and kappa values were 74.51% ± 0.581, 78.70% ± 0.659, and 83.22% ± 0.728 using SVM, k-NN (for k = 1), and RBF–NN classifiers, respectively, the combinations of MSCBAW and SVM, k-NN (for k = 1), and RBF–NN classifiers were obtained 99.35% ± 0.989, 96.77% ± 0.948, and 99.67% ± 0.994, respectively. As for the lumbar disc dataset, while the obtained classification accuracies and kappa values were 94.54% ± 0.974, 94.54% ± 0.877, and 93.45% ± 0.856 using SVM, k-NN (for k = 1), and RBF–NN classifiers, respectively, the combinations of MSCBAW and SVM, k-NN (for k = 1), and RBF–NN classifiers were obtained 100% ± 1.00, 99.63% ± 0.991, and 99.63% ± 0.991, respectively. The best hybrid models in the classification of vertebral column disorders dataset with two classes, vertebral column disorders dataset with three classes, and lumbar disc dataset were the combination of MSCBAW and k-NN classifier, the combination of MSCBAW and RBF–NN classifier, and the combination of MSCBAW and SVM classifier, respectively.  相似文献

The effects of nickel and carbon concentrations on the wear resistance of Fe–xNi–yC (x = 14–20 wt.%, y = 0.6–1.0 wt.%) were investigated with respect to strain energy initiation of the martensitic transformation and hardness. The strain energy needed to initiate the martensitic transformation increased with increasing carbon and nickel concentrations, except in 1.0 wt.% C alloys. The wear resistance of the material decreased with increasing carbon concentration up to 0.9 wt.% C. This effect is most likely due to decrement of the martensite volume fraction with increasing carbon concentration induced by the incremental strain energy required to begin the martensitic transformation. In the case of 1.0 wt.% C, the improved wear resistance may be due to carbide precipitation.  相似文献

New K+ ion-conducting polymer blend electrolyte films based on amorphous polymer poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC) and semicrystalline polymer poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) complexed with KCl salt were prepared using a solution-cast technique. The maximum value of ionic conductivity of a PVC/PEO:KCl (42.5:42.5:15) system is 8.29 × 10−6 S/cm at 303 K. The absorption edge was found at 4.30 eV for undoped film, while it was observed at 4.03 and 3.93 eV for 10 and 15 wt% KCl doped films, respectively. The direct band gaps for these pure and salt doped PVC/PEO films were found to 4.10, 3.86 and 3.74 eV, respectively, whereas the indirect band gaps were determined as 4.15, 3.72 and 3.64 eV. Transference number values showed that the charge transport in this electrolyte system is predominantly due to ions (tion = 0.97). The discharge capacity for PVC/PEO:KCl (42.5:42.5:15) polymer blend electrolyte system is 11 μA/h.  相似文献

The QRS complex detection is very imperative step prior to detecting any other wave component, beat segments, or any other morphological parameters of electrocardiogram (ECG). The paper presents a novel technique for QRS complex detection with minimum pre-processing required. The technique uses two-stage median filter and Savitzky–Golay smoothing filter for pre-processing. The decision rule is based on root-mean-square of the signal. The technique evolves with a novel approach for isoelectric line detection and a kurtosis-based false positive correction method. The robustness of the proposed technique been substantiated on Fantasia Database (FTD), MIT-BIH Arrhythmia Database (MIT-AD), MIT-BIH Normal Sinus Rhythm Database (MIT-NSD), and BIDMC Congestive Heart Failure Database (CHFD). The detection sensitivity (Se), positive predictivity (+P), detection error rate (DER), and accuracy (Ac) of proposed technique on FTD is Se = 99.90%, +P = 99.91%, DER = 0.19%, and Ac = 99.81%. On MIT-AD the technique has Se = 99.50%, +P = 99.56%, DER = 0.93%, and Ac = 99.08%. The technique shows Se = 99.36%, +P = 99.43%, DER = 1.21%, and Ac = 98.81% on MIT-NSD. Tested on CHFD, the techniques has Se = 99.68%, +P = 99.78%, DER = 0.52%, and Ac = 99.46%. The technique is also tested on self-recorded data-set and has Se = 99.97%, +P = 99.99%, DER = 0.04%, and Ac = 99.96%. The observation of above results shows the high performance and robustness of QRS complex detection, which will lead to highly accurate cardiac health prognosis.  相似文献

Composite solid electrolytes (1  x) Na2SO4–(x) V2O5 were prepared and characterized by various techniques such as XRD, FT-IR, DTA and SEM. AC impedance spectroscopy revealed that the contribution of grain is strong enough over the grain boundary. Arrhenius plot of the Na2SO4 shows a sharp increase in conductivity at 523 K due to the structural phase transition (phase V  I). Composites show the enhanced ionic conductivity than the pristine Na2SO4 over the entire temperature range. The maximum conductivity σ = 0.003 S cm−1 at 773 K with the lowest activation energy of 0.28 eV was observed for the x = 0.4 sample. The enhanced value of dielectric constant and dielectric loss in the case of composites was obtained because of increase of conductivity, resulted from the increase of space charge polarization and charge motion.  相似文献

Most of face recognition algorithms work fine when applied under controlled lighting conditions, proper distance and orientation of the subject from the camera and neutral expressions. In this work, effect of partial face rotation on recognition rate has been evaluated using a multi-camera acquisition system which allows a synchronous stereoscopic acquisition from three points of view. A feature-based approach to the face-recognition will be presented, using a set of landmarks to outline facial biometrics. Recognition is performed by evaluating weighted measurement discrepancies between 3D geometric masks obtained from stereoscopic images. A database of facial pictures of 117 individuals, framed in three different positions has been used. Recognition tests have been repeated four times, considering natural expression changes in repeated acquisitions. The results evidence a 96.2% correct recognition rate in 117 * 117 * 4 = 54756 comparisons. At a later stage, recognition system has been experimented splitting the database into a population of 90 authorized users and 27 impostors with the intent to reduce False Acceptances and False Identifications with a measurement threshold. Reliability improvements of recognition based on redundant measurements as well as in repeated tests is also analyzed.  相似文献

This study presents the novel development of low cost, highly efficient blue laser direct-writing equipment for using mask-less laser lithography to manufacture periodic and aperiodic nanostructure patterns. The system includes a long-stroke linear motor precision stage (X, Y), a piezoelectric nano-precision stage (Y, θz), a 3-DOF (degrees of freedom) laser interferometer measurement system, and a blue laser direct-writing optical system. The 3-DOF laser interferometer measurement system gives the control system feedback for displacement (X, Y, θz) of the equipment. The laser processing equipment consists of a blue laser direct-writing optical head, a field-programmable gate array (FPGA) alignment interface, and an optical head servo controller. The optical head operates at a wavelength of 405 nm. Processing the nanostructures on thermo-reaction inorganic resists with precise control of the laser intensity, taking advantage of the threshold effect to exceed the limitations of optical diffraction, and reduces the nanostructure hole size. The equipment can be used to fabricate various periodic nanostructure patterns, aperiodic nanostructure patterns, and two-dimensional patterns. The equipment positioning accuracy is within 50 nm at a speed of 50 mm/s, and the minimum critical dimension can be achieved about 100 nm or so.  相似文献

In this paper, precision hard turning is proposed for the finishing of the AISI 52100 bearing components to improve rolling contact fatigue life. This finishing process induces a homogenous microstructure at surface and subsurface layers. Fatigue life tests performed on a twin-disk machine show that rolling contact fatigue life increases as Ra value decreases. The bearing components reached 0.32 million cycles for Ra=0.25 μm and 5.2 million cycles for Ra=0.11 μm. In comparison, the bearing components achieved 1.2 million cycles with grinding (Ra=0.2 μm) and 3.2 million cycles with grinding followed by honing (Ra=0.05 μm) respectively.  相似文献

PEEK is a high strength engineering thermoplastic that suffers from a high friction coefficient and a friction induced wear mode. Past studies with 10 μm PEEK and PTFE powders resulted in composite solid lubricant that (at the optimal composition) had a wear rate of k = 2 × 10−9 mm3/Nm with a friction coefficient of μ = 0.12. A compositional grading of PEEK and PTFE is implemented in this study to create a bulk composite with the functional requirements of component strength, stiffness and wear resistance while providing solid lubrication at the sliding interface. The tribological performances of three functionally graded PEEK components were evaluated on linear reciprocating, rotating pin-on-disk and thrust washer tribometers. Wear rates comparable to samples of the bulk solid lubricant and comparable or improved frictional performance were achieved by compositionally grading the near surface region of PEEK components.  相似文献

Past studies with PTFE nanocomposites showed up to 600× improvements in wear resistance over unfilled PTFE with the addition of Al2O3 nanoparticles. Irregular shaped nanoparticles are used in this study to increase the mechanical entanglement of PTFE fibrils with the filler. The tribological properties of 1, 2, 5 and 10 wt.% filled samples are evaluated under a normal pressure and sliding speed of 6.3 MPa and 50.8 mm/s, respectively. The wear resistance was found to improve 3000× over unfilled PTFE with the addition of 1 wt.% nanoparticles. The 5 wt.% sample had the lowest steady state wear rate of K = 1.3 × 10−7 mm3/N m and the lowest steady friction coefficient with μ = 0.21.  相似文献

A method is established to reliably determine surface conductance of single-layer or multi-layer atomically thin nano-carbon graphene structures. The measurements are made in an air filled standard R100 rectangular waveguide configuration at one of the resonant frequency modes, typically at TE103 mode of 7.4543 GHz. Surface conductance measurement involves monitoring a change in the quality factor of the cavity as the specimen is progressively inserted into the cavity in quantitative correlation with the specimen surface area. The specimen consists of a nano-carbon-layer supported on a low loss dielectric substrate. The thickness of the conducting nano-carbon layer does not need to be explicitly known, but it is assumed that the lateral dimension is uniform over the specimen area. The non-contact surface conductance measurements are illustrated for a typical graphene grown by chemical vapor deposition process, and for a high quality monolayer epitaxial graphene grown on silicon carbide wafers for which we performed non-gated quantum Hall resistance measurements. The sequence of quantized transverse Hall resistance at the Landau filling factors ν = ±6 and ±2, and the absence of the Hall plateau at ν = 4 indicate that the epitaxially grown graphene is a high quality mono-layer. The resonant microwave cavity measurement is sensitive to the surface and bulk conductivity, and since no additional processing is required, it preserves the integrity of the conductive graphene layer. It allows characterization with high speed, precision and efficiency, compared to transport measurements where sample contacts must be defined and applied in multiple processing steps.  相似文献

Vegetable oil is a low toxic, excellent biodegradable and renewable energy source used as an ideal lubricating base oil in machining. Castor oil exhibits good lubrication performance but poor mobility, which limits its application especially in precision grinding. The main objective of the work presented to obtain optimal mixed vegetable based-oil and optimal nanoparticles adding concentration in grinding Ni-based alloy with minimum quantity lubrication. An experimental investigation is carried out first to study the different vegetable oils with excellent mobility mixed with castor oil. The lubrication property of the oil was evaluated in terms of grinding force, force ratio, specific grinding energy, and surface roughness. Based on the test conditions, it is found that soybean/castor mixed oil obtained the optimal results (μ= 0.379, U = 83.27 J/mm3 and Ra = 0.325 μm) and lubricating effect compared with castor oil and other mixed base oils. To further explore the lubricating capability of soybean/castor mixed oil, MoS2 nanoparticles which have excellent lubricating property were added into the soybean/castor mixed oil to prepare different concentrations nanofluids. From the present study, it can be concluded that 8% mass fraction of the oil mixture should be added to obtain the optimal machining results, with the lowest force ratio (0.329), specific energy (58.60 J/mm3), and average grinding temperature (182.6 °C). Meanwhile, better surface microtopography of ground parts and grinding debris morphologies were also observed for the machining conditions.  相似文献

For expected applications of fast tool servo (FTS) and vibration machining, a 3-axis positioning device with low interference motions is proposed in this paper. The positioning device was composed of a XY stage and a Z-axis stage, which were actuated by piezoelectric (PZT) actuators combined with specially-designed symmetric flexure hinges. Through fundamental experiments, when the applied voltage was 50 V, the displacements along the X-, Y-, and Z-axes were measured as 6.35 μm, 6.61 μm, and 10.12 μm, respectively, with the corresponding small percentages of interference displacement of 3.80%, 4.02%, and 3.30%. In addition, the resonant frequencies were obtained as 1.06 kHz, 0.65 kHz, and 0.54 kHz. To examine control performances, a real-time control system considering hysteresis effect of PZT actuators was implemented by the field-programmable gate array (FPGA) modules to conduct tracing controls for sinusoidal waveform, 3D Lissajous motion, and 3D spiral motion. The tracing errors along 3-axis actuations were under 30 nm. The performances of a 3-axis positioning device were well demonstrated. Future work is to perform machining examinations on a machine tool.  相似文献

We report on the design, construction and evaluation of a low-cost digital environmental monitoring system based on a popular micro-computer board and mass market digital sensors. The system is based around the use of open source software and readily available digital sensors, providing key parameters required for environmentally-controlled calibration laboratories: air temperature, pressure and humidity. Each system logs data at set intervals with front-panel display, web page graphical display and email alerting when exceeding set tolerances. The sensors have been calibrated at the National Physical Laboratory using standards traceable to the SI. Long term stability of the system is estimated and in addition to monitoring of laboratory environments for regulatory purposes, the systems can also be used to provide on-demand values for local refractive index with an expanded (k = 2) uncertainty of 1.1 × 10−7 as required for many optical-based measuring systems.  相似文献
