Abstract

A discussion of the essential characteristics of the materials needed for processing through a counter-current direct reduction furnace and usage in an electric arc furnace constitutes the rust part of this article. Some of the physical and chemical properties are reviewed and correlated with the performance of the Sidbec-Dosco reduction plant.

The impact of utilization of direct reduced iron on the Electric Arc furnace steelmaking practice is then evaluated, in terms of energy, consumption, productivity, electrode and refractories consumptions. Finally the characteristic of the steels produced for wire and flat rolled products using direct reduced iron is reviewed.

La première partie de ce travail discute des caractéristiques essentielles des boulettes nécessaires à la réduction directe par un gaz à contrecourant, pour changement dans un four électrique. Certaines propriétés physiques et chimiques sont revues et permettent une corrélation avec les performances de l'usine de réduction de Sidbec-Dosco.

On évalue l'impact que peut avoir l'utilisation de fer directement réduit au four électrique à arc dans la pratique de l'acierage, ceci du point de vue de la consommation d' énergie, de la productivité et de la consommation d' électrodes et de réfractaires. On discute finalement des caractéristiques de l'acier produit pour fils et produits laminés à plat en utilisant le fer réduit directement.  相似文献

Abstract

In the present investigation, a coupled mass and heat balance model for the analysis of the metallurgical processes that occur in the electric arc furnace and in the ladle furnace processes is proposed. One goal of this work was to create a simple spreadsheet based model to help with the selection of the correct process parameters for a chosen final chemical composition, quality level and production costs. The model proposed in this work was validated with reference to two operating modalities, using actual manufacturing plant data as well as specific data obtained from the literature. It was then used to obtain guidelines for the optimised production of low P steels and the realisation of a dephosphorisation map.  相似文献

This article is devoted to researching a simple parameter which can predict the electrovortex flow in a liquid conductor under a Lorentz force. This is provided by a numerical simulation of the electrovortex and convection flows in a DC electric arc furnace with the bottom electrode in different positions. The electromagnetic, temperature and hydrodynamic distribution parameters are given. It is shown that lifting the bottom electrode above the fettle surface by the electrode radius leads to the decrease of shear stress on the fettle area by 30%, while putting the bottom electrode lower than the fettle surface by a distance equal to the electrode radius and its expansion by the same distance reduces stress by 10%. A good correlation between the shear stress on the fettle area and a rotor Lorentz force provide possibility to use rotor Lorentz force as a simple electromagnetic parameter for the estimation of the vortex flow influence on the increased wearing of the fettle.  相似文献

The heat exchange between a metallic melt and a slag with a charge is simulated with allowance for possible formation of a skull on the charge surface. It is shown that the charge melting rate in the melt is determined by the coefficient of heat transfer between the metal and the charge and the ratio of the mass of a charge fragment to its surface area interacting with the melt. A skull is found to form on the charge surface at a low coefficient of heat transfer between the metal and the charge. The main heat parameters, the control of which by an automatic control system ensures an increase in the charge melting rate in the melt and a decrease in the metal loss, are formulated.  相似文献

An arc is blown from under an electrode toward the furnace walls under an electromagnetic force. 电耗是电弧炉的重要技术指标之一,在当前发电行业背景下,降低电弧炉电耗具有显著的经济和环境效益。根据典型电弧炉企业生产数据,系统分析各项工艺参数与电耗之间的关系,并进一步评价了各种方法降低电耗的环境效益。结果表明,优化供电制度和强化供氧是具有良好环境效益的节电手段。对于连续加料电弧炉,天然气喷吹对降低电耗的作用被极大减弱,天然气消耗与电耗的相关系数为-1.13 kW·h/m3,其应用不利于CO2减排。尽管兑加铁水可以显著降低电耗,但是兑加40%(质量分数)铁水的连续加料电弧炉能耗和碳排放量分别是全废钢连续加料电弧炉的2.25和2.50倍,不利于推动钢铁工业节能减排工作。因此,降低电弧炉电耗需要通过增加电弧炉中化学能和物理热的供应及减少能量损失的手段来实现。  相似文献

Electric arc furnace (EAF) dust is produced when iron and steel scrap is remelted in an electric arc furnace. There are still significant problems associated with the pyrometallurgical and/or hydrometallurgical processes for the treatment of this dust. In the present research, the dust was roasted with caustic soda at low temperatures. It was found that the zinc ferrite (ZnFe2O4) in the dust was converted into sodium zincate (Na2ZnO2) and iron oxide (Fe2O3). In the subsequent dilute caustic leaching process both the zincite (ZnO) and the sodium zincate were soluble and the hematite was relatively insoluble. After roasting and leaching, the zinc recovery was found to be about 95%, while the majority of the iron oxide remained in the leach residue. The lead, cadmium and chromium recoveries were approximately 85, 89 and 37%, respectively, for roasting tests in which moisture was added. Without a moisture addition in roasting, the lead recovery decreased to 63% while the chromium recovery increased to 81%. Based on the experimental results, a hybrid low temperature roasting and dilute caustic leaching process followed by zinc cementation and electrowinning is proposed and discussed. This proposed hybrid EAF dust treatment process provides some potential advantages in comparison to the other hybrid processes which have been described in the literature.  相似文献
