The docosahexanoic acid (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) contents and total mercury concentration were measured in whole tissue composites of all edible tissues of wild caught and farmed southern bluefin tuna (Thunnus maccoyii, SBT) and each of the marketed tissue cuts (akami, chu-toro and o-toro) of these fish. Rapid lipid accumulation during culture resulted in a net reduction in mercury concentration of SBT composite tissues and an increase in the concentration of the dietary essential fatty acids. Moreover, the increased affinity of lipid for certain tissue cuts (o-toro) over that of others (e.g. akami), resulted in cross carcass variation in the mercury concentration of fish muscular tissue. Results highlight the potential for farming to be used as a tool to improve the flesh quality of fish species which could otherwise provide limited dietary essential fatty acids to consumers and potentially contain elevated contaminant levels.  相似文献

The lipid content and total mercury concentration were measured in whole tissue composites of all edible tissues of farmed southern bluefin tuna (Thunnus maccoyii) and each of the marketed tissue cuts of these fish (akami, chu-toro, o-toro). Despite differences in fish size, condition factor and culture time, the mercury concentrations of tissue cuts and composite samples were found to decrease with increasing lipid content at a consistent rate of −0.00476 Hg (mg/kg)/% lipid within each fish. Consequently, lipid accumulation appears to have a dilution effect on mercury already associated with fish tissues. The increased affinity of lipid for certain tissue cuts (o-toro) over that of others (e.g. akami), results in cross carcass variation in the mercury concentration of fish muscular tissue with clear implications for mercury advisory statements – the tissue sample collected for analysis is critical.  相似文献

The concentrations of brominated dioxins which are polybrominated dibenzo-p-dioxins/polybrominated dibenzofurans (PBDD/DFs) and mono-bromo polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins/dibenzofurans, polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) and tetrabromobisphenol A (TBBPA) were investigated in a total of 45 fish samples collected from three regions in Japan. In the brominated dioxins, 1,2,3,4,6,7,8-heptabromodibenzofuran (HpBDF) was the most abundant congener, and it was found in seven fish samples at 0.10-25.6 pg/g wet weight (ww). The highest concentration of 1,2,3,4,6,7,8-HpBDF was found in the pike eel. Regarding other congeners, 2,3,7,8-tetrabromodibenzo-p-dioxin was detected in the sea bream at 0.02 pg/g ww, and 2,3,7,8-tetrabromodibenzofuran was detected in the conger eel at 0.03 pg/g ww. 3-Bromo-2,7,8-trichlorodibenzofuran was detected in the Sardinella zunasi and the conger eel at 0.01 pg/g ww and 0.02 pg/g ww, respectively. Using toxic equivalency factors of chlorinated dioxins, we calculated the PBDD/DFs concentrations of these fish samples at 0.001-0.256 pg TEQ/g ww. PBDEs were detected in all of the fish samples. The concentrations of total PBDEs were 0.01-2.88 ng/g ww. The seerfish and the yellowtail containd PBDEs in high concentrations. The most dominant congener in most of the fish was 2,2',4,4'-tetrabromo diphenyl ether. TBBPA was detected in 29 fish samples at 0.01-0.11 ng/g ww. The mean level of TBBPA was about one-tenth or less of the total level of PBDEs. A good correlation was obtained between total PBDEs and fat content. On the other hand, no correlation was obtained between TBBPA and fat content. The daily intakes from fish were estimated to be 0.58 ng/kg body weight (bw)/day for total PBDEs, 0.03 ng/kg bw/day for TBBPA, and 0.01 pg TEQ/kg bw/day for brominated dioxins in the case assuming that the average bw of a Japanese adult person is 50 kg and that the average fish consumption is 82 g/day. For PBDEs, the provisionally calculated value was much less than the lowest observed adverse effect level value (1 mg/kg bw/day). For brominated dioxins, the daily intake was at a very low level compared with the Japanese daily intake of polychlorinated dioxins from fish. Even if the value of PBDD/DFs is added to the amount of chlorinated dioxin exposure, it was estimated that it is less than the tolerable daily intake (4 pg TEQ/kg bw/day) in Japan.  相似文献

Total diet samples collected from seven regions throughout Japan in 2016 were analysed for polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins, polychlorinated dibenzofurans and dioxin-like polychlorinated biphenyls (DL-PCBs), known collectively as dioxins. This led to estimates of the latest dietary intake of these contaminants for the general Japanese population (≥1 year old). The average daily intake of dioxins for a person weighing 50 kg, calculated at non-detected congener concentrations assumed to be equal to zero, was estimated to be 0.54 pg TEQ (toxic equivalents) kg?1 body weight (bw) day?1. This value is well below the tolerable daily intake of 4 pg TEQ kg?1 bw day?1 for dioxins in Japan. The average intake was highest from fish and shellfish, followed by meat and eggs. The TEQ contribution of the fish and shellfish group to the total dietary TEQs was significant (89%). The DL-PCBs accounted for about 67% of the dioxin intake. The latest dioxin intake level was compared with previous estimates from total diet study results obtained annually since 1998 to determine the time trends in the dietary intake of dioxins in Japan. Overall, the average dioxin intake appeared to be decreasing gradually during the period of study. The previous average intakes of dioxins ranged from 0.58 to 1.9 pg TEQ kg?1 bw day?1. The latest average intake was the lowest since 1998 and was about one-third of the average intake in 1998. This decreasing trend in the dietary intake of dioxins was mainly influenced by the decreased dioxin intakes from two food groups, fish and shellfish, and meat and eggs.  相似文献

This study was carried out to determine the current levels of total mercury in the muscle tissue of swordfish (Xiphias gladius) and bluefin tuna (Thunnus thynnus) caught in the Mediterranean Sea with the purpose of ascertaining whether the concentrations exceeded the maximum level fixed by the European Commission Decision. In addition, specimens of each species were divided into different ranges of weight to investigate the influence of size on mercury accumulation in order to provide data upon which commercial fishing strategies and marketing of swordfish and bluefin tuna may be based. Higher mean levels of total mercury were found in bluefin tuna (1.02 microg g(-1) wet wt) than in swordfish (0.49 microg g(-1) wet wt). In 4.3% of swordfish and in 44.3% of bluefin tuna analyzed, total mercury concentrations exceeded the maximum level fixed by the European Commission Decision (Hg = 1 microg g(-1) wet wt). Besides, for bluefin tuna the total mercury level variability observed, due to size, suggests that there should be greater regulatory control by the authorities.  相似文献

The DR CALUX bioassay is a very suitable screening method for dioxins and dioxin-like-PCBs in feed and food. This was, e. g. demonstrated in a survey in the Netherlands to control the dioxin levels in eel. The DR CALUX assay, but also indicator polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB) were evaluated as a screening method. Based on the limit for polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins/dibenzofurans (PCDD/F) [at that time 8 pg toxic equivalents (TEQ)/g eel], and the relation between PCDD/F and dioxin-like-PCB, a decision limit of 30 pg TEQ/g eel was used for screening of 153 field samples. Suspected samples (21) and part of the higher contaminated negative samples (35) were analyzed by GC/MS for dioxins, non-ortho, mono-ortho and indicator PCB, revealing 13 samples exceeding the action limit of 30 pg TEQ/g eel. Only one sample slightly exceeded the dioxin level of 8 pg TEQ/g eel. The relatively low sensitivity for mono-ortho PCB was overcome by the use of reference samples, as shown by the correlation of 0.93 between GC/MS and CALUX determined total TEQ levels. The present data show that the DR CALUX assay can be used for screening of total TEQ levels in eel. The use for dioxins only requires a safe, and therefore relatively low, decision limit. The indicator PCB also showed a good correlation with total TEQ levels, mainly due to the large contribution of the mono-ortho PCB at higher concentrations. The relation with dioxins was very poor and as such indicator PCB seem less suitable than the DR CALUX assay for screening for dioxins only. The present study clearly shows that part of the wild eel samples contains high total TEQ levels and will exceed the future European Union limit of 12 pg TEQ/g eel for dioxins and dioxin-like PCB. Especially at high TEQ levels, dioxin-like PCB contribute most to the total TEQ. In practice, wild eel presents only a minor part of the eel consumed.  相似文献

The occurrence and human dietary exposure of 12 dioxin-like polychlorinated biphenyls (DL-PCBs) in 41 marine fish samples from Shandong Province of China were investigated. The DL-PCB congeners were extracted using automated Soxhlet extraction, purified via a composite column clean-up procedure and analysed by gas chromatography-triple quadrupole mass spectrometry. DL-PCB congeners were found in all analysed samples, with a mean concentration of 0.887 ng/g ww (wet weight). The TEQ concentrations of DL-PCBs in individual fish samples ranged from 0.011 to 9.214 pg WHO TEQ/g ww. The mean dietary intake for all fish species was 36.5 pg TEQ/kg bw/month, which was lower than the provisional tolerable monthly intake of 70 pg TEQ/kg bw/month set by the Joint FAO/WHO Expert Committee on Food Additives. To monitor the trend of DL-PCBs in fish for food safety control, it is necessary to maintain a surveillance programme.  相似文献

Three regions (cephalic, central, and caudal) of the dorsal and ventral muscle tissue (R1 through R6) and the caudal peduncle muscle tissue (CPMT) of 20 farmed bluefin tuna (Thunnus orientalis) were analyzed for mercury (Hg) and cadmium (Cd) concentrations. Region 1 (cephalic-ventral) had significantly lower concentrations of Hg but significantly higher concentrations of Cd than did the other regions. However, average metal concentrations of all regions (R1 through R6) were only 6% lower for Hg and were not significantly different for Cd from those in the CPMT. Therefore, the CPMT was used to monitor the concentrations of these two metals in more than 100 farmed tuna collected from July 2004 to January 2009 under the assumption that the Cd concentrations in the CPMT would be representative of the Cd concentration in the whole body and that the Hg concentrations would be, in the worst case, overestimated by approximately 6%. The Hg and Cd concentrations in these tuna were inversely related to the condition index, i.e., the tuna in better condition had the lowest concentrations of these metals. The mean concentrations in the CPMT of all fish analyzed were 0.31 ± 0.17 μg/g wet weight for Hg and 0.007 ± 0.006 μg/g wet weight for Cd. These concentrations were below the limits established by Mexican regulations for seafood (1.0 and 0.5 μg/g for Hg and Cd, respectively) and Japan (0.4 μg/g for Hg).  相似文献

A study of the dietary intake of dioxins, consisting of polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins (PCDDs), polychlorinated dibenzofurans (PCDFs) and coplanar polychlorinated biphenyls (Co-PCBs) through baby foods in the metropolitan Tokyo area was carried out. The samples were homemade baby foods prepared by the total diet-market basket method and baby foods (mainly commercial items) prepared by the duplicate portion method. The daily intake of dioxins per kg of body weight from baby foods in each weaning stage for the case of half intake of homemade baby foods and the other half of mainly commercial items was 0.32 pg TEQ/kg/day in the early stage, 0.45 pg TEQ/kg/day in the intermediate stage, 0.58 pg TEQ/kg/day in the late stage and 1.25 pg TEQ/kg/day in the completed stage. While the daily intakes increase with the weaning progress, they were less than the tolerable daily intake (TDI) of 4 pg TEQ/kg/day for dioxins established in Japan. Dioxins were mainly taken through formula milk in early stage of weaning period, but then were taken through protein-based foods in the subsequent weaning stage.  相似文献

Irish monitoring data on PCDD/Fs, DL-PCBs and marker PCBs were collated and combined with Irish adult food consumption data to estimate dietary background exposure of adults (18–90 years of age) living in Ireland to dioxins and PCBs. The average upper-bound daily intake of dioxins total WHO TEQ (2005) (PCDD/Fs and DL-PCBs) from food contaminated via the environment was estimated as 0.3 pg kg–1 bw day–1 and at the 95th percentile at 1 pg kg–1 bw day–1. The average upper-bound daily intake of sum of six marker PCBs from food contaminated via the environment was estimated at 1.6 ng kg–1 bw day–1 and at the 95th percentile at 6.8 ng kg–1 bw day–1. Dietary background exposure estimates for both dioxins and PCBs indicate that the Irish adult population has exposures below the European average, a finding which is also supported by the relatively lower levels detected in breast milk of Irish mothers compared with breast milk levels reported for other European countries. Exposure levels are below health-based guidance values and/or body burdens associated with the tolerable weekly intake (TWI) (for dioxins) or associated with a no observable adverse effect level (NOAEL) (for PCBs). Given the current toxicological knowledge, based on biomarker data and estimated dietary exposure, the authors consider that general background exposure of the Irish adult population to dioxins and PCBs is not likely to be of human health concern.  相似文献

Substantial amounts of mercury are usually present in tuna muscle, with levels in excess of 10 times the standard safety value present in some individuals. Inspection of individual fish for mercury content would be desirable but may not be cost-effective. In this study, we tried to establish a low-cost system for checking the mercury content of tuna by using a tail muscle that is usually discarded. The samples used in this experiment were bluefin tuna, cultured in the Fisheries Laboratory of Kinki University (Oshima Experimental Station, Wakayama, Japan). They were raised from eggs spawned in 2002. Ninety-eight individuals, weighing 22.3 to 61.6 kg, were selected between December 2004 and November 2005. In nine individuals, the mercury content of the tail was compared with that of the whole body. The total mercury level was measured using the reduction vaporizing atomic absorption method after acid digestion. Except for the front of the abdomen, where the mercury content was lower (0.490 ppm), the mercury content of other parts of the fish did not differ from that of the tail muscle (0.631 ppm). Therefore, the overall mercury concentration in bluefin tuna could be estimated to be almost the same and/or lower than that of the tail muscle. On the basis of these results, for 1 year we investigated the quantity of mercury in full-cycle cultured bluefin tuna that were shipped. The mercury concentration showed no increase irrespective of increases of body weight.  相似文献

This study was carried out to determine the current levels of total mercury and methylmercury in the muscle tissue of albacore (Thunnus alalunga) and bluefin tuna (Thunnus thynnus) caught in the Mediterranean sea with the purpose of ascertaining whether the concentrations exceeded the maximum level fixed by the European Commission Decision. Total mercury concentrations ranged from 0.84 to 1.45 mg kg-1 w.w. (av. 1.17 mg kg-1 w.w.) and from 0.16 to 2.59 mg kg-1 (av. 1.18 mg kg-1 w.w.) in the muscle of albacore and bluefin tuna, respectively. In 78.6% of albacore and in 61.1% of bluefin tuna analysed, total mercury concentrations exceeded the maximum level fixed by the European Commission Decision (Hg = 1 µg g-1 wet wt). In the two species, mercury was present almost completely in the methylated form, with percentages between 77 and 100% (av. 91.3%) in albacore and between 75 and 100% (av. 91%) in bluefin-tuna. In order to assess the potential health impact, the estimated weekly intake was calculated. The estimated weekly intake was far above the established Provisional Tolerable Weekly Intake for both species.  相似文献

Scope: The aim of this study was to i) characterize dietary polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) and dioxin exposure in consumers of fish from the PCB contaminated Lake Mjøsa in Norway ii) examine the influence of demographic factors on blood concentrations and congener composition of dioxins and PCBs, iii) characterize dietary sources and possible exposures above tolerable intake. Methods and results: Blood samples were analysed for dioxin‐like (dl) compounds (PCDD/Fs and dl‐PCBs) and non‐dl‐PCBs (ndl‐PCBs). Dietary exposures were calculated using food frequency questionnaires (n=64). Men had higher median intake of dl‐compounds than women (1.2 and 0.85 pg TEQ/kg bw/day), but similar blood concentrations (23.3 and 25.8, pg TEQ/g lipid weight (lw)). For non‐dl‐PCBs, intakes (6.5 and 4.5 ng/kg bw/day) and blood concentrations (381 and 224 ng/g lw) were higher in men than in women. Blood concentrations correlated with dietary intakes in men only. Increasing BMI and age elevated blood concentrations mainly in women. Men and women had different blood congener profiles, with a higher share of PCB‐126 in women, despite similar dietary congener profiles. Eleven participants exceeded the tolerable intake for dl‐compounds. Fish from Lake Mjøsa was the main dietary source. Conclusion: The higher influence of BMI and age for women than for men may have implications for risk assessment.  相似文献

There is a strong need for the development of relatively cheap and rapid bioassays for the determination of dioxins and related compounds in food. A newly developed CALUX (Chemical-Activated LUciferase gene eXpression) bioassay was tested for its possible use to determine low levels of dioxins in bovine milk. Data show that this mammalian cell-based test is very sensitive for 2,3,7,8-substituted dioxins and related PCBs, thereby reflecting the relative potencies of these compounds in comparison to TCDD (TEF-values). The limit of detection was about 50 fg of TCDD. Furthermore, the response obtained with a mixture of dioxins was additive, in accordance with the TEF-principle. Milk fat was isolated by centrifugation followed by clean-up of the fat with n-pentane, removal of the fat on a 33% H2SO4 silica column, and determination of Ah receptor agonist activity with the CALUX-bioassay. An equivalent of 67 mg fat was tested per experimental unit, resulting in a limit of quantification around 1 pg i-TEQ/g fat. To investigate the performance of the method, butter fat was cleaned and spiked with a mixture of 17 different 2,3,7,8-substituted PCDD and PCDF congeners at 1, 3, 6, 9, 12 and 15 pg TEQ/g fat, as confirmed by GC/MS. In this concentration range, the method showed a recovery of TEQs around 67% (58-87%). The reproducibility, determined in three independent series showed a CV varying between 4% and 54%, with the exception of the sample spiked at 1 pg i-TEQ (CV 97%). The repeatability determined with the sample spiked at 6 pg i-TEQ/g showed a CV of 10%. Testing of 22 bovine milk samples, taken at different sites in The Netherlands, in the CALUX-assay showed combined dioxin and dioxin-like PCB levels equivalent to 1.6 pg TCDD/g fat (range 0.2-4.6). GC/MS analysis of these samples revealed an average level of 1.7 pg i-TEQ/g fat, varying between 0.5 and 4.7 pg i-TEQ/g fat. All five samples showing a GC/MS determined dioxin content of more than 2 pg i-TEQ/g fat gave a response in the CALUX-assay corresponding to more than 2 pg TCDD/g fat. These data clearly show that the CALUX-bioassay is a promising method for the rapid and low cost screening of dioxins in bovine milk.  相似文献

Dietary patterns were related to intake and blood concentrations of polychlorinated dibenzo‐p‐dioxins and dibenzofurans (PCDD/PCDFs), dioxin‐like polychlorinated biphenyls (dl‐PCBs) and selected non‐dioxin‐like‐PCBs (ndl‐PCBs). Intake calculations were based on an extensive food frequency questionnaire and a congener‐specific database on concentrations in Norwegian foods. The study (2003) applied a two‐step inclusion strategy recruiting representative (n=73) and high consumers (n=111) of seafood and game. Estimated median intakes of sum PCDD/PCDFs and dl‐PCBs of the representative and high consumers were 0.78 and 1.25 pg toxic equivalents (TEQ)/kg bw/day, respectively. Estimated median intakes of ndl‐PCBs (sum chlorinated biphenyl (CB)‐28, 52, 101, 138, 153, 180) were 4.26 and 6.40 ng/kg bw/day. The median blood concentrations of PCDD/PCDFs/dl‐PCBs were 28.7 and 35.1 pg TEQ/g lipid, and ndl‐PCBs (sum of CB‐101, 138, 153 and 180) 252 and 299 ng/g lipid. The Spearman correlations between dietary intake and serum concentration were r=0.34 (p=0.017) for dl‐compounds and r=0.37 (p<0.001) for ndl‐PCBs. Oily fish was the major source of dl‐compounds and ndl‐PCBs in high and representative consumers. Four dietary patterns were identified by principal component analysis. Two were related to high intakes, one dominated by oily fish ((Ω‐3)), the other by fish liver and seagull eggs (“northern coastal”). Only the latter was closely associated with high blood concentrations of dioxins and PCBs.  相似文献

为科学评价大目金枪鱼、黄鳍金枪鱼和蓝鳍金枪鱼不同部位的营养成分与风味物质,采用国标法和Flavorspace?气相色谱-离子迁移谱仪检测了其基本营养成分、氨基酸组成、脂肪酸组成和挥发性风味物质,对比分析不同品种及不同部位间存在的差异。结果表明:三种金枪鱼肌肉的水分含量存在较大差异,不同部位肌肉水分含量为50.16~79.37 g/100 g,其中,蓝鳍金枪鱼肌肉的水分含量显著低于大目和黄鳍金枪鱼(P<0.05)。蓝鳍金枪鱼背部蛋白含量最高,达24.70 g/100 g;蓝鳍金枪鱼腹部脂肪含量高达30.29 g/100 g。大目金枪鱼背部肌肉符合FAO/WHO标准,属于优质蛋白;而大目金枪鱼腹部肌肉、蓝鳍背部和腹部肌肉均接近于FAO/WHO标准,也是良好的蛋白源。三种金枪鱼不同部位肌肉中谷氨酸含量最高,色氨酸含量最低。三种金枪鱼不同部位肌肉共检出31种脂肪酸,其中,二十碳五烯酸(Eicosapentaenoic acid,EPA)和二十二碳六烯酸(Docosahexaenoic acid,DHA)总量较高,二者总量占脂肪酸比例的27.61%~41.73%。共检测到醛类、酮类、醇类、酯类、酸类和烷烃及含氮化合物等40种挥发性风味物质;其中蓝鳍金枪鱼中种类最多,大目金枪鱼最少;同一品种不同部位肌肉中挥发性风味物质的相对含量也存在明显差异。三种金枪鱼不同部位肌肉均具有较高的营养价值,主体风味各不相同;其中蓝鳍金枪鱼背部肌肉必需氨基酸含量高,腹部肌肉不饱和脂肪酸含量丰富,且风味更佳。本研究结果为三种金枪鱼不同部位肌肉的精准加工与利用提供科学依据。  相似文献

The effects of ordinary household cooking processes on concentrations of polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins (PCDDs), polychlorinated dibenzofurans (PCDFs), and dioxin-like polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) (dioxins) were investigated in 'komatsuna', a green leafy vegetable popular in Japan. The concentrations of dioxins were compared using isomer-specific analyses of both uncooked and cooked edible parts of the plant. The mean total 2,3,7,8-chlorine substituted PCDD and PCDF concentrations were reduced from 46.53 pg/g and 0.714 pg/g to 8.301 pg/g and 0.210 pg/g by washing with tap water, and further reduced to 6.054 pg/g and 0.148 pg/g by subsequent boiling, respectively. The cooking processes markedly decreased the concentrations of PCDD/Fs, while having little effect on those of dioxin-like PCBs. The mean total concentration as 2,3,7,8-tetraCDD equivalents (TEQ) was reduced from 0.058 pgTEQ/g to 0.026 pgTEQ/g by washing with tap water and further reduced to 0.019 pgTEQ/g by subsequent boiling. These results suggest that ordinary cooking processes provide a means of reducing the level of dioxins in green leafy vegetables.  相似文献

Laying hens were fed with compound feed containing six different levels of dioxins, dioxin-like PCBs and indicator PCBs for a period of 56 days. This was followed by a period of 56 days on clean feed. Dioxin levels in feed varied from background levels to three times the current EU tolerance limit of 0.75 ng TEQ/kg. At all dose levels a rapid increase was observed in the dioxin levels in eggs. There was a clear linear dose-response relationship between the dioxin levels in eggs and feed. The feed containing 0.4 ng TEQ dioxins per kg resulted in egg levels just above the EU limit of 3 pg TEQ/g fat. Dioxin-like and indicator PCB residues followed a pattern very similar to that of dioxins. Exposure to the highest indicator PCB level of 32 µg/kg resulted in egg levels around 300 ng/g fat. Exposure to dioxins through contaminated soil, mixed at 10% into the feed, resulted in a similar carry-over as from feed. Mycotoxin binders, mixed at 0.5% into the feed, had little effect on the carry-over of dioxins from the feed to the egg. It can be concluded that consumption of feed or soil with even moderate levels of dioxins and dioxin-like PCBs rapidly results in increased levels in eggs. Polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxin and dibenzofurans (PCDD/Fs) and dioxin-like and non-dioxin-like (indicator) polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) were monitored in various foodstuffs of animal origin and edible oil samples obtained from two different cities in Turkey both rural and industrial. Total dioxin+dioxin-like PCBs and indicator PCB concentrations of pooled samples ranged 0.20–4.19 pg World Health Organization-Toxic Equivalency (WHO-TEQ)(1998)/g fat and 57.2–1710 pg/g fat, respectively. The dominant congeners were 2,3,4,7,8-PeCDF, 1,2,3,7,8-PeCDD, 2,3,7,8-TCDD and PCB126. Dietary intake of dioxin+dioxin-like PCBs and indicator PCBs from fish, dairy products, edible oil, egg and meat was 0.509 pg WHO-TEQ1998/kg bw (body weight)/day and 839 pg/kg bw/day in Afyon and 0.588 pg WHO-TEQ1998/ kg bw/day and 1070 pg/kg bw/day in Kocaeli, respectively. The major contributors to total exposure were dairy products and fish. Despite the unexplained high contamination level in an individual egg sample from Kocaeli, average concentration levels in Turkey, even in industrialized regions, were low compared to reported concentrations in Western Europe. Exposure levels were well below the tolerable daily intake (TDI) of 2 pg WHO-TEQ1998/kg body weight.  相似文献

Fish is the main source of dietary exposure to methylmercury (MeHg), which is a public health concern owing to its potential neurotoxicity. To evaluate the public health risk, this study estimated the total mercury (tHg) and MeHg exposure from fish intake in Hong Kong secondary school students. Median tHg and MeHg concentrations of 280 samples purchased from different commercial outlets (covering 89 species of whole fish and three types of canned tuna), together with the local food consumption data of secondary school students obtained by semi-quantitative food frequency questionnaire in 2000, were used to estimate dietary exposure from fish intake for the average and high consumer (95th percentile exposure). For tHg, the median concentration was 63 µg kg–1 (range 3–1370 µg kg–1) and estimated exposures ranged 0.5–0.6 µg kg–1 body weight (bw) week–1 for an average consumer and 1.6–1.9 µg kg–1 bw week–1 for a high consumer. For MeHg, median concentration was 48 µg kg–1 (range 3–1010 µg kg–1) and estimated dietary exposures were 0.4–0.5 µg kg–1 bw week–1 for an average consumer and 1.2–1.4 µg kg–1 bw week–1 for a high consumer. These values are below the respective provisional tolerable weekly intake (PTWI) established by the Joint Food and Agriculture Organization/World Health Organization Expert Committee on Food Additives (JECFA). The health risk is greater for high consumers since MeHg exposures may approach or exceed the PTWI when other dietary sources are taken into account.  相似文献
