以城市污水处理厂污泥回流液为研究对象,研究生物流化床法降低污泥回流液中氮磷浓度的效果,并分析了COD/TN与COD/TP值对生物流化床脱氮除磷的影响.结果表明,COD_(Cr)浓度对脱氮影响不大,而对除磷有较大影响.在COD_(Cr)为500 mg/L,进水TN为115 mg/L时,TN的去除率最大为72.05%,此时,COD/TN值为4.35.在COD_(Cr)为480 mg/L,进水TP为11.25 mg/L时,TP的去除率最高为36.98%,此时COD/TP为42.67.生物流化床法对降低高浓度氮磷污泥回流液具有一定的去除效果,TN去除率可达56.35%,TP去除率为28.96%.  相似文献

Linear alkylbenzene sulphonates (LAS) and nonylphenolethoxylates (NPE) may be detrimental to the environment if spread in inappropriately large concentrations. Mineralisation of LAS and NPE in mesophilic digested sludge was observed during a 9-month monitoring programme where three separate treatment methods were investigated. Sludge was treated in a sludge reed bed under aerobic conditions, by storage in a container under anaerobic conditions, and by storage in a sludge pile turned over mechanically at intervals to improve the oxygen influx. Treatment in a sludge reed bed was shown to be effective. Mineralisation of 98% of LAS and 93% of NPE was observed. Only limited mineralisation occurred on the surface of the sludge stored in a container. A reduction of LAS and NPE of 90% and 43%, respectively, was observed in the sludge which was stored in a pile and frequently turned.  相似文献

This work aims to evaluate the hydrodynamic properties of the sludge bed of Upflow Anaerobic Sludge Blanket (UASB) reactors based on its settleability and expansion characteristics. The methodologies used for the evaluation of the settleability of aerobic activated sludge, and for the expansibility of a sludge bed of Expanded Granular Sludge Bed reactors and Fluidised Bed Reactors were adapted and applied to the particular characteristics of the sludge of UASB reactors. An easy-to-build experimental set-up was developed to assess the parameters necessary for the equations of settleability and of expansibility. The results obtained from the sludges of seven differently operated reactors show that, for the treatment of low strength wastewater, settleability increased and expansibility decreased at decreased hydraulic retention time, from 6 to 1 h, and/or increased influent concentrations, from 136 to approximately 800 mg chemical oxygen demand/L. The results also show that it is useless to design an UASB reactor with a longer hydraulic retention time to cope with hydraulic shock loads, as a more expansible sludge will develop at such condition.  相似文献

基于北港上段和下段以及南支河道三个站点的7天连续同步水沙观测数据(包括潮流、悬沙含量和表层沉积物样品),通过对不同时刻悬沙浓度、悬沙和沉积物粒径组成分析,以及基于沙量平衡的粒度谱计算,对长江口北港河道泥沙特性和河床沉积物再悬浮作用进行了研究.结果表明:北港上段河道落潮时水动力强于涨潮,单宽输沙量表现为净向海输沙;河床沉积物颗粒较粗,细砂和粉砂含量可达90%以上;近底层悬沙浓度在一个涨或落潮周期内可存在两个峰值;河床沉积物再悬浮作用落潮强于涨潮.  相似文献

Land application of sludge as fertilizers is a way of disposal and recycling of sludge. However, public concern has arisen due to the fact that organic contaminants in sludge may ultimately enter the food chain. Hence the need arises to analyse the organic contaminants such as PAHs and OCPs in sludge. In this study, Soxhlet was utilised as the extraction method and the extracts subjected to extensive cleanup via either silica columns or solid phase extraction cartridges prior to analysis using gas chromatography or high performance liquid chromatography. Sludge samples were collected from the drying beds of oxidation ponds in three locations in South Johore. OCPs such as heptachlor, dieldrin and pp-DDT were detected in low amounts (52-159 mg/kg) whereas PAHs such as naphthalene, phenanthrene, fluoranthene and benzo(a)pyrene were detected in the range of 0.2-5.5 mg/kg dry mass. Subcritical water extraction (SWE) recovery studies of PAHs were also performed from spiked sludge samples. Although a recovery range of 41-68% was obtained using the SWE method, the results indicated the usefulness of the technique as an alternative to Soxhlet extraction for the analysis of PAHs in sludge samples.  相似文献

Evaluation of the applicability and utility of watershed hydrologic models in different hydro-geologic and soil conditions is necessary for a range of spatial scales and to assess the utility of these models as watershed water resources management tools. This study presents the application of the hydrological model TOPNET to the Big Darby Creek watershed, Ohio, United States. It focuses on the simulation modeling of stream flow in the watershed based on meteorological data for the eight year period of 1992–1999. Visual comparison of time series plots and statistical measures namely, Nash-Sutcliffe efficiency (NS), coefficient of correlation (R2), and the percent bias (PBIAS) were used to assess the model performance. The statistical model evaluation results indicated that the model has a relatively high confidence and can give a good representation of the flow hydrographs for the watershed. For the calibration period simulations of annual stream flow were accurate with a mean R2 and NS of 86% and 85% for the Big Darby at Darbyville gaging station. For the little Darby at West Jefferson gaging station a mean R2 of 81% was obtained while the NS averaged 78%. Further analysis based on the aggregation of the water years into wet seasons and dry seasons, the model was also able to adequately simulate stream flow for both gaging stations and for both low flow periods and high flow periods. Statistical analysis for the validation period also yielded high R2 values of 88% and 83% for the Darby at Big Darby at Darbyville gaging station and Little Darby at West Jefferson gaging station respectively. The worst PBIAS obtained for both calibration and validation period was 18% and this is better than recommended values for satisfactory daily simulations of ±25% for PBIAS. The encouraging simulation results obtained in this study shows the utility and usefulness of the TOPNET model in hydrological modeling and ultimately as a water resources management tool.  相似文献

The interactions between filamentous sulfur bacteria (FSB), sulfate reducing bacteria (SRB) and poly-P accumulating bacteria (PAB) in the activated sludge of a municipal plant operated under anaerobic-oxic conditions were examined in batch experiments using return sludge (RAS) and settled sewage. Phosphate release and sulfate reduction occurred simultaneously under anaerobic conditions. SRB were more sensitive to temperature changes than PAB. SRB played an important role in the decomposition of propionate to acetate. When the sulfate reduction rates were high, there was a tendency for the maximum release of phosphate also to be high. This was explained by the fact that PAB utilized the acetate produced by SRB. Sulfur oxidizing bacteria were sensitive to temperature change. When the sulfate reduction rate was high, the sulfide oxidizing rate was also high and filamentous bulking occurred. The results showed that sulfate reduction was a cause of filamentous bulking due to Type 021N that could utilize reduced sulfur.  相似文献

Disposal of sewage sludge is forbidden and agricultural use of stabilized sludge will be banned in 2005 in Switzerland. The sludge has to be dewatered, dried, incinerated and the ashes disposed in landfills. These processes are cost intensive and lead also to the loss of valuable phosphate resources incorporated in the sludge ash. The implementation of processes that could reduce excess sludge production and recycle phosphate is therefore recommended. Partial ozonation of the return sludge of an activated sludge system reduces significantly excess sludge production, improves settling properties of the sludge and reduces bulking and scumming. The solubilized COD will also improve denitrification if the treated sludge is recycled to the anoxic zone. But ozonation will partly inhibit and kill nitrifiers and might therefore lead to a decrease of the effective solid retention time of the nitrifier, which reduces the safety of the nitrification. This paper discusses the effect of ozonation on sludge reduction, the operation stability of nitrification, improvement of denitrification and gives also an energy and cost evaluation.  相似文献

The paper presents the results of two full-scale applications of the anaerobic co-digestion process of waste activated sludge together with the organic fraction of municipal solid wastes. The experiences were carried out at Viareggio and Treviso wastewater treatment plants (Italy). In the first plant, 3 tons per day of source sorted OFMSW were co-digested with waste activated sludge, increasing the organic loading rate from 1.0 to 1.2 kgTVS/m3d. This determined a 50% increase in biogas production. At Treviso WWTP, which has been working for 2 years, some 10 tons per day of separately collected OFMSW are treated using a low-energy consumption sorting line, which allows the removal of 99% and 90% of metals and plastics respectively. In these conditions, the biogas yield increased from 3,500 up to 17,500 m3/month. Industrial costs were evaluated less than 50 Euro per ton of organic waste, while the payback time was calculated as two years.  相似文献

Nutrient loading from agricultural drainage systems into downstream aquatic ecosystems, like Lake Winnipeg in the prairie province of Manitoba, Canada, represents a major challenge for water quality management. In order to improve water quality in downstream waterbodies, the Manitoba government is currently investigating the relationship between hydrological standard of agricultural drainage network and nutrient retention in the drainage systems. Briefly, oversized drains have more capacity to transport nutrients, which can increase nutrient loading to downstream waterbodies, especially during rainfall events. Currently, the hydrological standards of agricultural drainage design in Manitoba were mainly developed according to cost-benefit analysis without considering nutrient retention. The purpose of this study was to use computer modelling techniques to simulate the impact of drain size (based on different hydrological standards) on nutrient retention within an agricultural drainage network. The site chosen was the Tobacco Creek Watershed, an agricultural area which drains into the Red River, and thence into Lake Winnipeg. Suspended sediment, nutrient and flow data, from several locations along the Brown drain within this watershed, were used to calibrate a water quality model. Scenarios were then simulated with the model to estimate how different drain sizes affect nutrient transport and retention. Sampling took place during the spring and summer of 2013 starting with freshet and ending when the drains dried up near mid-summer. Study results indicated that the amount of nutrients transported was generally greater during freshet and summer rain storms. Occasionally, however, nutrients in summer discharge exceeded those transported during freshet. The water quality model was applied to the Brown drain to investigate the effects of different drain sizes for rainfall amounts under 2, 5, 10, 15, and 20 year return periods. Generally the results indicate that as the return periods became larger (in larger channels) lower nutrients concentrations were predicted downstream (higher decay rates). On average, the model predicted a 15%–20% decline in nutrient concentration with a 20-year return channel design compared to a 2-year return. The research from this study may provide an impetus to the policy-making process of drainage design.  相似文献

To study process performance and population dynamics in activated sludge, a pilot-scale Membrane Bioreactor (MBR) was installed in a municipal wastewater treatment plant (Aubergenville, France). Since no solids losses occur in the MBR effluent, the sludge residence time (SRT) can be: i) easily controlled by means of the sludge withdrawal, and ii) dissociated from the hydraulic residence time (HRT). A complete characterization of this activated sludge system was performed at three sludge ages (5, 10 and 20 days). Raw and treated wastewater quality, as well as sludge concentration, was analyzed, nucleic probe analysts was performed to determine the heterotrophic and nitrifier populations, and the results were compared to the output from a multispecies model that integrates substrate removal kinetics and soluble microbial products (SMP) production/consumption. This paper presents an integrated analysis of the activated sludge process based on chemical, molecular biology, and mathematical tools. The model was able to describe the MBR system with a high degree of accuracy, in terms of COD removal and nitrification, as well as sludge production and population dynamics through the ratio of active nitrifters/bacteria. Both steady-state and transient conditions could be described accurately by the model, except for technical problems or sudden variations in the wastewater composition.  相似文献

This paper presents the characterisation procedure of different types of sludge generated in a wastewater treatment plant to be reproduced in a mathematical model of the sludge digestion process. The automatic calibration method used is based on an optimisation problem and uses a set of mathematical equations related to the a priori knowledge of the sludge composition, the experimental measurements applied to the real sludge, and the definition of the model components. In this work, the potential of the characterisation methodology is shown by means of a real example, taking into account that sludge is a very complex matter to characterise and that the models for digestion also have a considerable number of model components. The results obtained suit both the previously reported characteristics of the primary, secondary and mixed sludge, and the experimental measurements specially done for this work. These three types of sludge have been successfully characterised to be used in complex mathematical models.  相似文献

通过30余年特别是三峡水库蓄水以来水文、地形、地质等实测资料的系统收集,对长江中游枝城-陈家湾沙卵石-沙质河床过渡带冲刷特性和发展趋势开展分析,其结果表明:虽然河段内自上而下呈现出卵石逐渐减少而沙质比例逐渐增多的渐变特点,但以昌门溪~马家店一带为界,上下游的洲滩组成、深泓形态、河床冲淤、水位下降等方面存在突变现象。在三峡水库蓄水后的冲刷过程中,虽然全河段内均出现了汊道冲刷、枯期河槽扩大的现象,但可以预计的是,河段内河势不会发生大的变化,而昌门溪以下河段难以抵御水位下降的溯源传递,马家店以上在枯水期将出现比现状更为严重的坡陡、流急、水浅现象。  相似文献

The lower 3.5 km of Eighteenmile Creek, a tributary to Lake Ontario in New York, was designated as an Area of Concern (AOC) in 1985 under the Great Lakes Water Quality Agreement due to extensive contamination of bed sediments by polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) and other toxicants. Five beneficial use impairments (BUIs) have been identified in this AOC, including degraded fish and wildlife populations. We surveyed fish communities in the Eighteenmile Creek AOC and in a comparable section of a nearby reference stream (Oak Orchard Creek) during June 2019 to infer whether legacy contaminants are currently impairing fish communities in the AOC to an extent that they differ from the regional reference condition. Estimates of community abundance, biomass, diversity, and fish condition from each system were compared using a noninferiority testing framework. Biomass, diversity, and fish condition in the Eighteenmile Creek AOC were similar or superior to that in Oak Orchard Creek, while abundance was 20% lower in the AOC. These findings and those of a 2007 sampling effort suggest that fish communities in the Eighteenmile Creek AOC are not impaired despite recent studies indicating that PCBs are bioaccumulating in fish tissues at 1–2 orders of magnitude above background levels. Future assessments in the Eighteenmile Creek AOC might focus on the condition of benthic macroinvertebrate communities and potential toxicity of local contaminants to piscivorous wildlife in order to fully address the remaining aspects of the fish and wildlife populations beneficial use impairment.  相似文献

With increased recognition of the value of tidal wetlands and their defining hydrology, the need for better understanding of tidal flow and mixing characteristics is vital to any wetland restoration and enhancement projects and studies. A numerical modeling study was carried out to study the mixing and transport processes in the tide dominated West Scott Creek Estuary, South Carolina. The West Scott Creek estuary is a system of meandering tidal creeks and salt marsh between Edisto Island and the Edisto Beach barrier island. A coupled, depth-integrated hydrodynamic and particle transport model was developed. The model was calibrated and verified against a set of field-measured hydrodynamic data and the model-predicted water elevations, velocities and discharges were in good agreement with the field measurements. The hydrodynamically calibrated model was coupled with a particle tracking module to quantify the residence time distribution and associated transport mechanisms in a spatially varying situation. Computed residence time distribution, under tidal forcing, indicates a strong spatial variation and a non-monotonic distribution along the thalweg of the creek. The model computed a residence time of 4.92 days at the head of the creek. Numerical analysis of the Lagrangian flow field indicated varying mixing regions (strong and weak) within the wetland and the result is anticipated to provide useful information to assess the impact of coastal development in and around the West Scott Creek estuary including the restoration of tidal hydrology.  相似文献
