Outdoor design conditions are important parameters for energy efficiency of buildings. The result of incorrect selection of outdoor design conditions can be dramatic in view of comfort and energy consumption. In this study, the influence of different outdoor design conditions on air conditioning systems is investigated. For this purpose, cooling loads and capacities of air conditioning equipments for a sample building located in Adana, Turkey are calculated using different outdoor design conditions recommended by ASHRAE, the current design data used in Turkey and the daily maximum dry and wet bulb temperatures of July 21st, which is generally accepted as the design day. The cooling coil capacities obtained from the different outdoor design conditions considered in this study are compared with each other. The cost analysis of air conditioning systems is also performed. It is seen that the selection of outdoor design conditions is a very critical step in calculation of the building cooling loads and design capacities of air conditioning equipments.  相似文献

The paper investigates the thermal performance of ice-water cool storage systems theoretically and experimentally. Cool storage systems are used to shift electric demand from periods of high demand to those of low demand. A general lump model to determine the thermal storage characteristics is developed. The solution of the system equations is found through a Laplace transformation method. Experimental data of temperature profiles obtained for both single container and packet containers under the conditions of various flow rates and different inlet coolant temperatures confirm the validity of the theory. A closed form solution of the required time for latent-heat storage has also been established on the basis of the quasi-steady-state assumption of the coolant.  相似文献

A detailed mathematical model describing the performance of low-pressure low-temperature solar steam-jet cooling cycles for comfort air conditioning is presented in this paper. The model is based on the analysis of the cycle performance together with the supersonic flow conditions in the convergent divergent nozzle and the preceding supersonic and subsonic diffusers. The sets of simultaneous equations resulting from the model together with a subroutine providing numerical values of the thermodynamic properties of steam formulated a computer simulation program. The simulation program analyzes the performance of the solar steam-jet cooling system under different design and operating conditions. A set of design charts for the solar steam-jet cooling cycle and for the selection of the ejector dimensions were constructed. Finally, conclusions on the design considerations and limitations as well as the off design performance are discussed.  相似文献
