The deformation behavior of a 49.8 Ni-50.2 Ti (at pct) alloy was investigated using the hot compression test in the temperature range of 700 °C–1100 °C, and strain rate of 0.001 s?1 to 1 s?1. The hot tensile test of the alloy was also considered to assist explaining the related deformation mechanism within the same temperature range and the strain rate of 0.1 s?1. The processing map of the alloy was developed to evaluate the efficiency of hot deformation and to identify the instability regions of the flow. The peak efficiency of 24–28% was achieved at temperature range of 900 °C–1000 °C, and strain rates higher than 0.01 s?1 in the processing map. The hot ductility and the deformation efficiency of the alloy exhibit almost similar variation with temperature, showing maximum at temperature range of 900 °C–1000 °C and minimum at 700 °C and 1100 °C. Besides, the minimum hot ductility lies in the instability regions of the processing map. The peak efficiency of 28% and microstructural analysis suggests that dynamic recovery (DRV) can occur during hot working of the alloy. At strain rates higher than 0.1 s?1, the peak efficiency domain shifts from the temperature range of 850 °C–1000 °C to lower temperature range of 800 °C–950 °C which is desirable for hot working of the NiTi alloy. The regions of flow instability have been observed at high Z values and at low temperature of 700 °C and low strain rate of 0.001 s?1. Further instability region has been found at temperature of 1000 °C and strain rates higher than 1 s?1 and at temperature of 1100 °C and all range of strain rates.  相似文献

The hot deformation behavior of an ultra-pure 17%Cr ferritic stainless steel was studied in the temperature range of 750–1000 °C and strain rates of 0.5 to 10 s?1 using isothermal hot compression tests in a thermomechanical simulator. The microstructural evolution was investigated using electron backscattered diffraction and transmission electron microscopy. A modified constitutive equation considering the effect of strain on material constant was developed, which predicted the flow stress for the deformation conditions studied, except at 950 °C in 1 s?1 and 900 °C in 10 s?1. Decreasing deformation temperature and increasing strain was beneficial in refining the microstructure. Decreasing deformation temperature, the in-grain shear bands appeared in the microstructure. It is suggested that the dynamic softening mechanism is closely related to deformation temperature. At low deformation temperature, dynamic recovery was major softening mechanism and no dynamic recrystallization occurred. At high deformation temperature, dynamic softening was explained in terms of efficient dynamic recovery and limited continuous dynamic recrystallization. A drop in the flow stress was not found due to very small fraction of new grains nucleated during dynamic recrystallization.  相似文献

The hot deformation behavior of as-cast Mg-4Sn-2Ca (TX42) alloy has been studied using compression tests in the temperature range of 300°C to 500°C, and strain rate range of 0.0003 s?1 to 10 s?1. Based on the flow stress data, a processing map has been developed, which exhibited two domains of dynamic recrystallization in the temperature and strain rate ranges: (I) 300°C to 380°C and 0.0003 s?1 to 0.001 s?1, and (II) 400°C to 500°C and 0.004 s?1 to 6 s?1. While hot working may be conducted in either of these domains, the resulting grain sizes are finer in the first domain than in the second. The apparent activation energy values estimated by kinetic analysis of the temperature and strain rate dependence of flow stress in the domains 1 and 2 are 182 kJ/mol and 179 kJ/mol, respectively. Both the values are much higher than that for self-diffusion in pure magnesium, indicating that the thermally stable CaMgSn particles in the matrix cause significant back stress during the hot deformation of this alloy. The alloy exhibits a regime of flow instability at lower temperatures and higher strain rates, which manifested as flow localization.  相似文献

In order to clarify the effect of strain rate on hot deformation characteristics of GH690 superalloy, the hot deformation behavior of this superalloy was investigated by isothermal compression in the temperature range of 1000–1200 °C and strain rate range of 0.001–10 s?1 on a Gleeble–3800 thermo-mechanical simulator. The results reveal that the flow stress is sensitive to the strain rate, and the dynamic recrystallization (DRX) is the principal softening mechanism. The strain rate of 0.1 s?1 is considered to be the critical point during the hot deformation at 1000 °C. The DRX process is closely related to the strain rate due to the adiabatic temperature rise. The strain rate has an important influence on DDRX and CDRX during hot deformation. The nucleation of DRX can be activated by twin boundaries, and there is a lower fraction of 3n (n=1, 2, 3) boundaries at the intermediate strain rate of 0.1 s?1.  相似文献

The hot deformation behavior of a Ni-Cu alloy was studied using hot compression testing in the temperature range of 950 °C–1150 °C and at strain rates of 0.001 s?1-1 s?1. Flow curves at low strain rates, up to 0.01 s?1, were typical of DRX characterized by a single peak, while at higher strain rates, the typical form of a DRX flow curve was not observed. The power-law constitutive equation was used to correlate flow stress to strain rate and temperature, and the apparent activation energy of hot deformation was determined to be about 462.4 kJ/mol. The peak strain and stress were related to the Zener-Hollomon parameter and the modeling formula was proposed. The dependence of flow stress to the Z changed at ln Z=38.5, which was considered to be a critical condition for the change in the mechanism of dynamic recrystallization. The efficiency of power dissipation was determined to be between 10–35 percent at different deformation conditions. According to the dynamic material model, stable flow was predicted for the studied temperature and strain rate ranges. Highly serrated grain boundaries at low strain rates were considered to be a reason for the occurrence of continuous dynamic recrystallization. On the contrary, at high strain rates, equiaxed grain structure was attributed to the typical discontinuous dynamic recrystallization.  相似文献

The hot deformation behavior of AMS 5708 nickel-based superalloy was investigated by means of hot compression tests and a processing map in the temperature range of 950-1200 °C and a strain rate range of 0.01-1 s?1 was constructed. The true stress-true strain curves showed that the maximum flow stress decreases with the increase of temperature and decrease of strain rate. The developed processing map based on experimental data, showed variations of efficiency of power dissipation relating to temperature and strain rate at constant strain. Interpretation of the processing map showed one stable domain, in which dynamic recrystallization was the dominant microstructural phenomenon, and one instability domain with flow localization. The results of interpretation of flow stress curves and processing map were verified by the microstructure observations. There are two optimum conditions for hot working of this alloy with efficiency peak of 0.36: the first is at 1150 °C for a strain rate of 1 s?1 that produces a fine grained microstructure. The second is at 1200 °C for a strain rate of 0.01 s?1 that produces a coarse grained microstructure.  相似文献

Hot compression tests of 2050 Al–Li alloy were performed in the deformation temperature range of 340–500 °C and strain rate range of 0.001–10 s–1 to investigate the hot deformation behavior of the alloy. The effects of friction and temperature difference on flow stress were analyzed and the flow curves were corrected. Based on the dynamic material model, processing map at a strain of 0.5 was established. The grain structure of the compressed samples was observed using optical microscopy. The results show that friction and temperature variation during the hot compression have significant influences on flow stress. The optimum processing domains are in the temperature range from 370 to 430 °C with the strain rate range from 0.01 to 0.001 s–1, and in the temperature range from 440 to 500 °C with the strain rate range from 0.3 to 0.01 s–1; the flow instable region is located at high strain rates (3–10 s–1) in the entire temperature range. Dynamic recovery (DRV) and dynamic recrystallization (DRX) are the main deformation mechanisms of the 2050 alloy in the stable domains, whereas the alloy exhibits flow localization in the instable region.  相似文献

The flow behavior of Al-Zn-Mg-Sc-Zr alloy during hot compression deformation was studied by isothermal compression test using Gleeble-1500 thermo-mechanical equipment. Compression tests were performed in the temperature range of 340-500 °C and in the strain rate range of 0.001-10 s?1.The results indicate that the flow stress of the alloy increases with increasing strain rate at a given temperature, and decreases with increasing temperature at a given imposed strain rate. The relationship between flow stress and strain rate and temperature was derived by analyzing the experimental data. The constitutive equation of Al-Zn-Mg-Sc-Zr alloy during hot compression deformation can be described by the Arrhenius relationship of the hyperbolic sine form. The values of A, n, and α in the analytical expression of strain rate are fitted to be 1.49 × 1010 s?1, 7.504, and 0.0114 MPa?1, respectively. The hot deformation activation energy of the alloy during compression is 150.25 kJ/mol. The temperature and strain rate have great influences on microstructure evolution of Al-Zn-Mg-Sc-Zr alloy during hot compression deformation. According to microstructure evolution, the dynamic flow softening is mainly caused by dynamic recovery and dynamic recrystallization in this present experiment.  相似文献

Isothermal compression testing of Ti555211 titanium alloys was carried out at deformation temperatures from 750 to 950 °C in 50 °C intervals with a strain rate of0.001–1.000 s~(-1). The high-temperature deformation behavior of the Ti555211 alloy was characterized by analysis of stress–strain behavior, kinetics and processing maps. A constitutive equation was formulated to describe the flow stress as a function of deformation temperature and strain rate, and the calculated apparent activation energies are found to be 454.50 and 207.52 k J mol~(-1)in the a b-phase and b-phase regions, respectively. A processing map based on the Murty instability criterion was developed at a strain of 0.7. The maps exhibit two domains of peak efficiency from 750 to 950 °C. A *60 % peak efficiency occurs at 800–850 °C/0.001–0.010 s~(-1). The other peak efficiency of *60 % occurs at C950 °C/0.001–0.010 s~(-1), which can be considered to be the optimum condition for high-temperature working of this alloy. However, at strain rates of higher than 1.000 s~(-1)and deformation temperatures of 750 and 950 °C, clear process flow lines and bands of flow localization occur in the hightemperature deformation process, which should be avoided in Ti555211 alloy hot processing. The mechanism in stability domain and instability domain was also discussed.  相似文献

The hot deformation characteristics of Haynes230 has been investigated in the temperature range 1050–1250 °C and strain rate range 0.001–10 s?1 using hot compression tests. Power dissipation map for hot working are developed on the basis of the Dynamic Materials Model. The map exhibits two domains of dynamic recrystallization (DRX): one occurring in the temperature range of 1200–1250 °C and in the strain rate range of 0.001–0.03 s?1, which associated with grain coarsening; the other occurring in the temperature range of 1100–1200 °C and strain rate range of 0.001–0.01 s?1, which are the optimum condition for hot working of this material. The average apparent activation energy for hot deformation is calculated to be 449 kJ/mol. The material undergoes flow instabilities at temperatures of 1050–1100 °C and at strain rates of 1–10 s?1, as predicted by the continuum instability criterion. The manifestations of the instabilities have been observed to be adiabatic shear bands which are confirmed by optical observation.  相似文献

The hot deformation behavior of AA2014 forging aluminum alloy was investigated by isothermal compression tests at temperatures of 350–480 °C and strain rates of 0.001–1 s?1 on a Gleeble–3180 simulator. The corresponding microstructures of the alloys under different deformation conditions were studied using optical microscopy (OM), electron back scattered diffraction (EBSD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The processing maps were constructed with strains of 0.1, 0.3, 0.5 and 0.7. The results showed that the instability domain was more inclined to occur at strain rates higher than 0.1 s?1 and manifested in the form of local non-uniform deformation. At the strain of 0.7, the processing map showed two stability domains: domain I (350–430°C, 0.005–0.1 s?1) and domain II (450–480 °C, 0.001–0.05 s?1). The predominant softening mechanisms in both of the two domains were dynamic recovery. Uniform microstructures were obtained in domain I, and an extended recovery occurred in domain II, which would lead to the potential sub-grain boundaries progressively transforming into new high-angle grain boundaries. The optimum hot working parameters for the AA2014 forging aluminum alloy were determined to be 370–420 °C and 0.008–0.08 s?1.  相似文献

The hot compression deformation behavior of Cu–3Ti–0.1Zr alloy with the ultra-high strength and good electrical conductivity was investigated on a Gleeble–3500 thermal-mechanical simulator at temperatures from 700 to 850 °C with the strain rates between 0.001 and 1 s−1. The results show that work hardening, dynamic recovery and dynamic recrystallization occur in the alloy during hot deformation. The hot compression constitutive equation at a true strain of 0.8 is constructed and the apparent activation energy of hot compression deformation Q is about 319.56 kJ/mol. The theoretic flow stress calculated by the constructed constitutive equation is consistent with the experimental result, and the hot processing maps are established based on the dynamic material model. The optimal hot deformation temperature range is between 775 and 850 °C and the strain rate range is between 0.001 and 0.01 s−1.  相似文献

The flow stress behavior of aluminum alloy 6A10 was studied by the hot compression tests at temperatures from 350 °C to 550 °C and strain rates from 0.1 s?1 to 10 s?1 with Gleeble-1500 thermo-mechanical simulator. The result demonstrates that the temperatures of specimen differ from initial ones affected by deformation conditions, and that the softening mechanism is dynamic recovery. A new approach was proposed to analyze the flow stress character directly from actual stress, strain, temperature and strain rate data, without performing any previous flow stress correction caused by temperature variation. Comparisons between the experimental and predicted results confirm that the established flow stress model can give reasonable estimation, indicating that the mentioned approach can be used in flow stress model analysis of the materials that undergo only dynamic recovery based on the data obtained under variable deformation temperature.  相似文献

The hot deformation behavior of T4-treated ZK60 magnesium alloy was investigated in a compression test conducted with a thermo-mechanical simulator at a temperature range of 523 K to 673 K and a strain rate of 0.001 s?1 to 1 s?1. The results show that the flow stress increases as the deformation temperature decreases and the strain rate increases. Strain-dependent constitutive relationships were developed using regression method and artificial neural network, and good agreements between the experimentally measured values and the predicted ones were achieved. The work hardening analysis and onset of dynamic recrystallization (DRX) were investigated. The processing map reveals a domain of DRX at the temperature range of 620–673 K and strain rate range of 0.001–0.01 s?1, with its peak efficiency of 32% at 623 K and 0.001 s?1, which are the optimum values of the parameters for hot working of the T4-treated ZK60 alloy. The strain level has a great effect on the processing maps and lower temperatures and higher strain rates should be avoided during hot working processes. DRX model indicates that DRX of ZK60 alloy is controlled by the rate of nucleation, which is slower than the rate of migration.  相似文献

The hot deformation behavior of GH625 is investigated by a compression test in the temperature range of 950-1150 °C and the strain rate of 10?3-5 s?1. It is found that the flow stress behavior is described by the hyperbolic sine constitutive equation with average activation energy of 421 kJ/mol. Through the flow stresses’ curves, the processing maps are constructed and analyzed according to the dynamic materials model. In the processing map, the variation of the efficiency of the power dissipation is plotted as a function of temperature and strain rate, and the maps exhibit a significant feature with a domain of dynamic recrystallization occurring at the temperature range of 950-1150 °C and in the strain rate range of 0.005-0.13 s?1, which are the optimum parameters for hot working of the alloy. Meanwhile, the instability zones of flow behavior can also be recognized by the maps.  相似文献

Hot deformation behavior of the 3003 Al alloy was investigated by conducting hot compression tests at various temperatures (300?C500 °C) and strain rates (0.0l?C10.0 s?1). A constitutive equation was established to describe the flow behavior. The apparent activation energy of the 3003 Al alloy was determined to be 174.62 kJ·mol?1, which is higher than that for self-diffusion in pure Al (165 kJ·mol?1). Processing maps at a strain of 0.6 for hot working were developed on a dynamic materials model. The maps exhibit a flow instability domain at about 300?C380 °C and 1.0?C10.0 s?1. Dynamic recrystallization occurs extensively in the temperature range of 450?C500 °C and at the strain rate of 10.0 s?1. The optimum parameters of hot working for the 3003 Al alloy are confined at 500 °C and 10.0 s?1 with the highest efficiency (37%).  相似文献
