Editorial.
Presents a reaffirmation of the goals of the Canadian Journal of Psychology. The primary objective of the Canadian Journal of Psychology is to provide a vehicle for the communication of scientific research in general experimental psychology. The editor hopes to encourage Canadian experimental psychologists to take pride in their Journal, and submit their quality work to it. The Journal will continue to maintain a small and selective book review section, and it will maintain its short report section. There is no question that there is ample material to fill the pages of the Journal and make it interesting. (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2010 APA, all rights reserved)  相似文献

This is the first issue of Behavioral Neuroscience in which my name appears on the masthead as Editor. I am very pleased that Mark Blumberg, University of Iowa; John Gabrieli, Stanford University; Ann Kelley, University of Wisconsin; and Jeanne Wehner, University of Colorado, have agreed to serve as Associate Editors for the journal. Their research expertise reflects my interest in maintaining the strengths of the journal in the behavioral neuroscience of development (Mark Blumberg) and appetitive behavior and learning (Ann Kelley), as well as increasing our coverage of studies related to human and primate behavior and imaging (John Gabrieli) and mouse behavior and genetics (Jeanne Wehner). My own research program focuses on the neural mechanisms of learning and aging. We would like, of course, to invite all our readers to continue to submit some of their best work in the area of brain and behavior to Behavioral Neuroscience. Editorial.
This editorial discusses the author's plans for the Journal as he assumes the position of editor. Although a change in editorship affords an opportunity to reaffirm the Journal's aims and objectives, the new editor's goal is to maintain the fine tradition of publishing high quality papers in general experimental psychology in both of Canada's official languages. Editorial.
This editorial presents comments from James E. Cutting, the editor-elect for the Journal of Experimental Psychology: Human Perception and Performance, as he begins to receive and consider new submissions for publication. As editor-elect, Cutting's goal is to have the Journal of Experimental Psychology: Human Perception and Performance continue as the major outlet for the world's best research reflecting its long and somewhat peculiar title. Submitted papers must be original, although theory and data published elsewhere may be used to complete an argument so long as proper citation is given and permissions, if needed, have been obtained. Letters are welcome from those who volunteer as occasional special reviewers, those who wish to nominate a possible consulting editor, or those who have comments on the Journal and how it should be run. In this editorial, Peter Dixon expresses what a great honour it is to him to take on the editorship of the Canadian Journal of Experimental Psychology. He further remarks that the Journal has a long tradition of scientific excellence and rigour that he intends to uphold and foster. Dixon goes on to discuss various aspects of the Journal's nature, and also touches upon a few topics about the Journal's editorial policies. Introduction.
This article provides an introduction to the Special Issue of the Canadian Journal of Psychology, which explores the topic of human memory. There are few traditional areas of experimental psychology for which a Special Issue of the Canadian Journal of Psychology seems more appropriate than human memory. The present theoretical shape of the area, as well as its empirical foundations, owe much to Canadian psychology. A glance at the list of contributors, however, will show that in no sense is the present Special Issue an attempt to offer a comprehensive or even representative account of current Canadian research. The amount of such research is too great, and the page allotment for the Issue too small, to make such a nationalistic statement possible, even if it were desirable. The ten papers contained in this issue do, however, illustrate several of the most interesting aspects of recent memory research. This, the last issue of the Journal of Abnormal and Social Psychology, brings to an end an alliance of some 44 years' standing. In January of 1965 the journal will be split into two independent periodicals, the Journal of Abnormal Psychology and the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology. This editorial provides a brief history of the journal as it relates to these two important fields in psychology. (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2010 APA, all rights reserved)  相似文献

Editorial.
This editorial notes that this issue of the Journal appears under a changed title, a change that reflects more accurately the field of psychology with which the Journal is concerned--clinical psychology--and at the same time augurs a more contemporary interpretation of that field. The title of Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology was endorsed and is now official. In addition, the editor states that he is hopeful that further experience in his role will identify ways in which the Journal can serve clinical psychology more effectively.
