The numbers of gold particles in a gold ruby glass were calculated as a function of irradiation time, nucleation and irradiation temperature, and cerium concentration. Photonucleation in Ce-containing glasses and nucleation by X rays in glasses without cerium were similar, suggesting that cerium was not directly involved in nucleating the gold particles. The results were consistent with nucleation by trapped photoelectrons. Temperature of irradiation and cerium concentration influenced production and recombination of the trapped electrons. A decreased number of nuclei as the nucleation temperature increased probably resulted from recombination of the trapped electrons. 相似文献

Antimony, usually added as a fining agent in a concentration range of about 0.2 to 2.0% Sb2 O3 , can be determined readily in many types of glass with a polarograph. Interfering elements are seldom encountered in common glass compositions, so chemical separations are not necessary. The mean difference between chemical and polarographic analyses for twenty-one glasses covering soda-lime, borosilicate, lead, and barium compositions is about 0.02% Sb2 O3 . 相似文献

The transpiration method was used to study the evaporation of Sb2 O3 from a glass melt with the composition 70SiO2 ·15K2 O·15CaO·MgO (in wt%) at 1200° to 1300°C. The glass contained about 0.9 wt% Sb2 O3 . Assuming the monomer Sb2 O3 is the species of evaporation, the saturation vapor pressures could be calculated with ΔHV =218±20 kJ·mol−1 and ΔSV =128±10 J·mol−1 ·K−1 . 相似文献
