The p- and o-substitution of the benzene ring of poly(β-benzyl-l-aspartate) (PBLA) with a nitro group induces a reversal of the helix sense in the PBLA. Therefore, two series of random copolymers of benzyl-l-aspartate with o- and p-nitrobenzyl-l-aspartate were prepared in order to study the left-handed→right-handed α-helix transition. The conformational behaviour has been studied by nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy and the left-handed→right-handed α-helix transition has been observed from the α-CH shift, from CDCl3 solutions. Moreover, for each copolymer, the α-helix→coil transition was also studied in CDCl3trifluoroacetic acid mixtures. In this case, the transition can be observed from the α-CH shift and from the splitting of the β-CH2 resonance in the α-helical form also.  相似文献

Raman spectra of sulfided Moγ-Al2O3 catalysts were obtained using in situ techniques for two sulfiding methods. For samples sulfided by 10% H2SH2 at 400 °C, MoS2 structures were observed. A stepwise sulfiding using 10% H2SH2, with spectra recorded at 150, 250, and 350 °C, resulted in observation of molybdenum oxysulfide, reduced molybdate, and surface “MoS2” phases. Reexposure of these samples to air led to radical modification of the oxysulfide structures as well as transformation of some sulfide phases. A model incorporating terminal and bridging MoS bonding and anion vacancies is proposed. This model is based on the conversion of isolated and aggregated molybdate and MoO3 species to oxysulfide and reduced molybdenum phases. Conversion of reduced molybdenum phases to sulfides is observed to be slow.  相似文献

High resolution neutron scattering experiments have been used to observe the diffusive motion of low molecular weight linear and cyclic poly(dimethyl siloxane) molecules in dilute solution in deuterated benzene. Diffusion coefficients (D) and hydrodynamic radii (RH) have been compared with values obtained by light scattering for higher molecular weight samples and with radii of gyration (Rg) obtained by small-angle neutron scattering. While the ratio DringDchain is close to the predicted value of 0.85, the ratio RgRH falls below the theoretical value for both ring and chain molecules. The scattering curves show effects arising from both centre of mass diffusion and internal molecular motion, and the observed inverse correlation times are compared with calculated behaviour as a function of scattering vector, Q.  相似文献

Proton and carbon-13 nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy of various vacuum residues and their fractionated samples were carried out to investigate average molecular structures. The structural parameters derived from carbon distribution agreed with those derived from p.m.r. within experimental error. In the aliphatic region of the c.m.r. spectra, characteristic peaks assignable to (CH2)n ? n ≧ 6 (29.7 ppm) and CH3CH2CH2CH2 (14.1 ppm) etc. can be observed. The relative intensities of these peaks suggest that the methylene chain contained in vacuum residues is much longer ((CH2)n ? n ≧ 12) than has been considered previously. Using the information about the aliphatic region of the c.m.r. spectrum and the structural parameters, an average structural model was deduced.  相似文献

The morphology and related properties are described for the aromatic thermoplastic poly(aryl-ether-ether-ketone) (PEEK) [C6H4OC6H4OC6H4CO]n. Topics covered include crystallinity, crystallization and melting behaviour, Iamellar thickness and spherulitic structure. The data are used to derive the following material parameters T1m = 395°C, σe = 49 erg cm?2, σs = 38 erg cm? and ΔHF = 130 kJ kg?1. PEEK is closely analogous to poly(ethylene terephthalate) in its crystallization behaviour except that the main transitions occur about 75°C higher.  相似文献

Hydrocracking of benzyl phenyl ether and diphenyl ether has been carried out over a series of iron catalysts (Fe2O3, Fe2O3Al2O3, Fe2O3ZnO, Fe2O3ZrO2, Fe2O3MgO and Fe2O3SiO2) and reference catalysts (CoOMoO3Al2O3, NiOMoO3Al2O3 and SiO _Al2O3) to search for active and selective catalysts, and to elucidate the catalyst properties of relevance for CO bond cleavage. Among the iron catalysts, Fe2O3ZnO, Fe2O3ZrO2 and Fe2O3MgO exhibited relatively high activities and selectivities. The important property of catalysts relevant to hydrocracking of the ethers is the ability to accomplish hydrogenation. Acidic properties of the catalysts cause condensation and rearrangement of the reactants. The features of the iron catalysts are compared with those of molybdenum catalysts, and the reaction mechanisms discussed.  相似文献

A flow microcalorimeter designed to measure the heat of mixing of dilute polymer solutions is described. The instrument is sensitive to steady state heating rates of ~10 μJ/sec. Measurements of heats of mixing of solutions of differing concentrations of n-hexane and cyclohexane are reported and are compared with recommended data of McGlashan and Stoeckli. Values of:

The synthesis of methanol and other products from CO and H2 was studied over Pd catalysts prepared by adsorption of Pd(π-C3H3)2 on MgO, ZnO, La2O3, γ-Al2O3, SiO2, TiO2, and ZrO2 as well as over a SiO2-supported Pd catalyst prepared from PdCl2 and Pd black. Both the activity and selectivity of Pd were affected strongly by the nature of the support and the composition of the Pd precursor. The specific activity for methanol synthesis decreased in the order PdLa2O3 ? PdSiO2 [derived from PdCl2] > PdZrO2 > PdZnOPdMgO > PdTiO2 > PdAl2O3PdSiO2 [derived from Pd(π-C3H5)2] ? Pd black, while the specific activity for hydrocarbon synthesis decreased in the order PdTiO2 ? PdZrO2 > PdLa2O3 > PdAl2O3PdSiO2 [derived from PdCl2] ? PdSiO2 [derived from Pd(π-C33H5)2] ≈ Pd black ? PdMgO ? PdZnO. Dimethyl ether production was observed over four of the catalysts and the activity for formation of this product decreased in the order PdAl2O3 ? PdTiO2 ? PdMgOPdZrO2. The effects of support composition on the catalytic properties of Pd are discussed in the light of current ideas concerning metal-support interactions and the acid-base properties of the support.  相似文献

The rate of hydrogenolysis of ethane over a Ni/SiO2 catalyst, studied over a large range of pressure and of temperature, is shown to be related to the degree of hydrogen coverage θH, by the equation: r = k0Pc2H6e?E0RTθHY(1 ? θH)x with K0 nearly equal to the number of ethane molecules colliding with the Ni surface, E0 = 14 ? 1 kcal/mole, Y = ?1 ? 2 and X = 15 ? 2. The rate-limiting step is believed to be the irreversible, dissociative adsorption of ethane on an ensemble of at least 12 adjacent Ni atoms, free from adsorbed hydrogen, resulting in the complete cracking of C2H6: C2H6 + 12Ni → 2
Irreversible adsorption of ethane is assumed to compete with the reversible adsorption of hydrogen. This mechanism, which is compared with those proposed earlier, is in good agreement with data on ethane adsorption studied by magnetic methods, and with a study of ethane hydrogenolysis over NiCu/SiO2 catalysts.  相似文献

Under COH2O systems at initial pH values s> 12.6, an Illinois No. 6 coal, PSOC-26, was converted to a fully pyridine-soluble product, with benzene and hexane solubilities of 50% and 18%, respectively. The product gases were H2 and CO2. However, the expected H2CO2 ratio of 1.0 based on the water gas shift reaction was not observed, but the deficit in hydrogen was found in the increased hydrogen content of the coal product. 95% coal carbon recovery and good hydrogen balances were obtained, and the coal products were found to be very similar to those from conventional tetralin systems. The results suggest an efficient base-catalysed process, and that COH2O systems are useful for coal studies.  相似文献

The promotional effects of Co in CoMoAl2O3 hydrodesulfurization (HDS) catalysts were studied by means of X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The higher MoO3-content MoAl2O3 catalysts (10 and 20 wt% MoO3) contain mobile Mo, which migrates from the pores to the outermost surface layers of the catalysts and segregates to form less active crystalline MoS2 during the HDS reaction, while in the case of MoAl2O3 (5 wt% MoO3) catalyst: no migration of Mo was observed. It is revealed that the Co in CoMoAl2O3 catalyst inhibits the migration and segregation of Mo and that it keeps Mo effective for the HDS reaction, since no surface enrichment of Mo was observed. It is concluded that stabilization of the Mo monomolecular layer is the main role of Co. The active species of Mo is suggested to have the composition of S/Mo(IV) = 1 on the basis of the sulfur contents of the catalysts under the mild HDS reaction conditions.  相似文献

The morphological and hydrodynamic properties of a series of homogeneous fractions of substituted poly(methylmethacrylate) (A units) bearing keto-β-functional groups (B units) of the general structureCOCH2R, with R = SOxCH3 (x = 1,2) or SO2N(CH3)2, were investigated by intrinsic viscosity, light scattering and partial specific volume measurements in dimethylformamide (DMF) solution at 25°C. For molar substitution degrees DSm < 0.5, the copolymers behave as flexible random coils. The Stockmayer-Fixman-Yamakawa analysis of the [η]-M?w data leads to slightly higher unperturbed dimensions Ko and steric factor σ than those for PMMA, and to stronger chain expansion as a result of the weak hydrogen bonding between DMF and COCH2R units and a positive XAB interaction parameter. For DSm > 0.5 however, copolymers bearing COCH2SO2N(CH3)2 groups behave as worm-like chains, as derived from the Fujii-Yamakawa analysis of the [η]-M?w-v? data: the persistence length increases from 380 to 570 Å within the DSm range 0.57–0.75. This transition from a random coil to a worm-like chain for DSm > 0.5 was tentatively correlated with the accumulation of B units in sterically hindered and self-associated short blocks of average length lB ? 1.6 which provide drastically increased rigidity to the copolymer chain.  相似文献

The effects of temperature and catalyst homogeneity on the molecular weight distribution (MWD) and stereochemical regulation of polypropylenes produced by Ti(OC4H9)4Al2(C2H5)3Cl3 system have been investigated. The MWD of polymers obtained at temperatures below 21°C were unimodal and narrow (M?wM?n?2.0), whereas those obtained at temperatures higher than 31°C were bimodal with one narrow distribution and the other broad one (M?wM?n=18) at higher molecular weights. The existence of two different types of catalyst, one soluble with homogeneous catalytic centres and the other insoluble with heterogeneous catalytic centres was found in the polymerization at 41°C. At temperatures below 21°C only soluble catalyst was present and produced isotactic polypropylenes with [m]=0.65. The isospecific nature of soluble titanium-based catalyst is greatly contrasted to the syndiospecific nature of soluble vanadium-based catalyst.  相似文献

Oxidation of polyacetylene with sulphuric acid, leading to the formation of highly conducting polymer films, was studied under varying conditions. It was found that the highest quality films were obtained in the gas phase reaction with 98% H2SO4 where the H2SO4H2O ratio is crucial for correct doping. The reaction product can be formulated as [CH(HSO4)y]x. Oxygen attack leads to the irreversible degradation of the polyene chain and reaction with H2O results in compensation of the dopant anions.  相似文献

A new method for the synthesis of comb shaped polystyrenes of predetermined structure is described. Silicon-chlorine bonds are introduced into the backbone polystyrene by reaction of SiMe2Cl2 with hydrolysed styrene/vinyl acetate copolymers and coupled with polystyryl-lithium in benzene. From a common backbone polymer a series of comb polymers are prepared that have a constant number of branches but vary in branch length. The MwMn of the whole comb polymers is about 1.3. The comb polymers with high branch density show θ (A2) temperatures lower than that for linear polystyrene. The radius of gyration at θ (A2) [〈S2θ (A2)] is always larger than calculated from random flight statistics. For comb polymers with 20–30 branches 〈S2θ (A2)〈S20,bb increases with λ?0.46 where λ is the fraction of polymer in the backbone. The intrinsic viscosities of the comb polystyrenes at θ (A2) are equal to that of the parent backbone polymer when λ > 0.25 and increase only little when λ becomes equal to 0.1. Similar behaviour is found in toluene. Intrinsic viscosities in cyclohexane at 35°C show a complex pattern because of the θ-temperature variation.  相似文献

Extremely high molecular weight polystyrenes with a M?w in the range 10.8 × 106 to 2.2 × 107 were prepared by emulsion polymerization initiated with a heterogeneous initiator at 30°C, which has a ‘living character’. Samples of polystyrene were characterized by light scattering and viscometry in toluene and benzene at 25°C, and in θ-solvent cyclohexane at 34.8°C. Also determined were the relationships of mean-square radius of gyration 〈s2〉 (m2) and the second virial coefficient A2 (m3 mol kg?2) on the molecular weight, which for toluene and benzene are described in equations: Toluene (25°C) 〈s2〉=1.59 × 10?23M?w1.23; A2=4.79 × 10?3M?w?0.63; Benzene (25°C) 〈s2〉=1.23 × 10?22M?w1.20; A2=2.59 × 10?3M?w?0.59. The parameters in the Mark-Houwink-Sakurada equation were established, for extremely high molecular weight polystyrene in toluene and in benzene, at 25°C into the form giving for [η] (m3kg?1): [η] = 8.52 × 10?5M?w0.61; [η] = 1.47 × 10?4M?w0.56. The mentioned relations, as well as the obtained values of Flory parameter ?0 and of ratio [η]M?w0.5 were compared with solution properties of high molecular weight polystyrene with narrow molecular weight distribution prepared by anionic polymerization by Fukuda et al.  相似文献

The hexane-soluble fractions of hydroliquefied products from three Yallourn brown coal lithotypes have been separated into five fractions by combined silica-alumina packed column chromatography. Analyses of various fractions by g.c.-m.s. permitted the identification of ≈50 components in the saturate fraction and 40 components in the diaromatic fraction, together with 30 components in the monoaromatics. The components identified were quite similar among hexane-soluble portions of all three lithotypes. A marked predominance of even carbon number alkane (C23-C29) was observed in the hydrocarbon fractions from pale lithotype over ZnCl2KCl, and medium light lithotype over both pure ZnCl2 and ZnCl2KCl. However, medium dark lithotype over both melt catalysts produced a saturate fraction with an odd carbon number(C22-C28) preference. Based on spectral methods, Soxhlet extracts obtained from untreated lithotypes (hexane and benzene solubles) were characterized as complex mixtures of higher molecular weight(300–1000) aliphatic hydrocarbons, which were supposed to be a precursor of the saturates produced from the corresponding lithotype in the catalytic hydroliquefaction.  相似文献

A study of CO hydrogenation over PdSiO2 and PdLa2O3 has been carried out for the purpose of identifying the effects of Pd dispersion, Pd morphology, and support composition on the catalytic activity of supported Pd. The specific activity of each catalyst for methanol and methane synthesis was determined from microreactor studies carried out at a fixed set of reaction conditions. Palladium dispersion was measured by H2O2 titration, and the morphology of the Pd crystallites, as expressed by the distribution of Pd(100) and Pd(111) planes, was determined from in situ infrared spectra of adsorbed CO. The crystallite morphology of the PdSiO2 catalysts is the same, independent of Pd weight loading: 90% of the surface is comprised of Pd(100) planes and 10% of the surface is comprised of Pd(111) planes. By contrast, the crystallite morphology of the PdLa2O3 catalysts changes with Pd loading. Primarily Pd(100) planes are exposed at low-weight loadings while Pd(111) planes are exposed at high-weight loadings. The Pd dispersion has little effect on the methanol turnover frequency over both PdSiO2 and PdLa2O3, for dispersions between 10 and 20%. On the other hand, the methane turnover frequency is independent of Pd dispersion over PdSiO2, but increases with decreasing dispersion over PdLa2O3. It is further observed that the Pd morphology influences the specific activity of PdLa2O3 for methanol synthesis: Pd(100) is nearly threefold more active than Pd(111). For a fixed morphology, the specific methanol synthesis activity of PdLa2O3 is a factor of 7.5 greater than that of PdSiO2.  相似文献

The apparent diffusion coefficients for Ti, V, Cr, Nb, Mo and Hf as carbides and for elementary Fe, Ni and Cu in electro graphite have been determined by means of an electron-microprobe analyzer. These pseudo diffusion coefficients were found to vary with the heat treatment time. However, after one hour these remain constant and follow the Arrhenius type of relation D = D0exp(?Q/RT). The activation energy Q was nearly constant for the metals investigated. An attempt was made to correlate the frequency factor D0 with the heat of formation ΔH?298 of the corresponding carbides. A plot of log D0vsΔHf yielded two straight lines, one for the negative ΔH?, the other for positive ΔH?. This method was satisfactorily applied to predict the diffusion coefficients of Zr, Sb and Bi.  相似文献
