The supercritical fluid extraction (SFE) trends and antioxidant activities of Hibiscus cannabinus seed oils were studied. SFE results indicate that extraction pressure is the major factor determining the oil yield. In comparison, classic Soxhlet extraction (SOX/L) yielded higher oil content than SFE (P < 0.05). However, no significant differences in oil content were observed in SFE at 600 bars/80 °C, rapid Soxhlet extraction (SOX/S) and conventional ultra-sonic assisted solvent extraction (SONIC) (P > 0.05). Antioxidant activities of H. cannabinus seed oils were compared with 7 types of commercial edible oils. DPPH scavenging activity test indicated that H. cannabinus seed oil extracted by SFE at 200 bars/80 °C possessed the highest antiradical activity whereas beta-carotene bleaching (BCB) assay revealed that all H. cannabinus seed oils (except for SFE at 400 bars/80 °C and 600 bars/80 °C) exhibited higher antioxidant activity than all commercial edible oils (P < 0.05). Thus, SFE – H. cannabinus seed oil may serve as an excellent source of solvent-free edible oil with high antioxidant properties.  相似文献

Supercritical carbon dioxide (SC-CO2) extraction parameters affecting oil recovery from almond were optimized through response surface methodology (RSM). The optimum extraction conditions were as follows: extraction pressure, 44.1 MPa; extraction temperature, 43.8 °C; dynamic extraction time, 93.6 min; and CO2 flow rate, 10.1 mL/min. Under these conditions, a mean value of 86.54 ± 0.66 g/100 g (n = 3) was observed, which is well matched with the predicted value of 87.32 g/100 g. Furthermore, the effects of autoclaving pretreatment for the almond particles on the oil recovery, fatty acids' composition, and almond particles' microstructure were also investigated by calculating the percentages of the oil yield, gas chromatograph fitted with a mass spectrometer (GC-MS), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) analysis, respectively. The results showed that autoclaving pretreatment had minor modifications of the fatty acids' profile of the extracted oil, but greatly promoted the disturbing of almond cell walls, and increased the oil recovery by 6.44%.  相似文献

The chemical profiles of bioactive essential oil and extracts obtained by hydrodistillation (HD) and supercritical fluid extraction (SFE), respectively, from Lavandula viridis were compared. The SFE was performed at 40 °C and at extraction pressures of 12 or 18 MPa in two different separators. Evaluation of the essential oil and SFE extracts by GC–FID and GC–IT–MS revealed that oxygen-containing monoterpenes were the major constituents in both cases, but there were important differences between the chemical profiles produced by the different extraction techniques. More compounds were isolated by HD but higher yields were achieved by SFE. Camphor was the main component identified in the essential oil (31.59 ± 1.32%), and in extracts from the first (1.61 ± 0.34%) and second SFE separators (22.48 ± 1.49%) at 12 MPa. In contrast, the first separator SFE extract at 18 MPa (heavy compounds) was dominated by myrtenol (5.38 ± 2.04%) and camphor (4.81 ± 1.93%), whereas the second separator SFE extract (volatiles) was dominated by verbenone (13.97 ± 5.27%). The essential oil and heavy compound extracts from the first separator possessed antioxidant and anti-cholinesterase activities. Our data show that phytochemicals from the aerial parts of L. viridis could be developed as natural antioxidant and anti-cholinesterase drugs, with particular applications in the symptomatic treatment of Alzheimer’s disease.  相似文献

The scale-up of the supercritical fluid extraction (SFE) process for grape (Vitis vinifera L.) seed was studied from the laboratory (0.29 L) to the pilot scale (5.15 L) at 35 MPa and 313 K. The scale-up criterion adopted consisted of maintaining a constant solvent to feed ratio (S/F), and the criterion was successfully used to predict the approximate behavior of the SFE process from the laboratory at the pilot scale for a 17-fold scale-up. Linoleic acid was the major component of the extract; palmitic, stearic and oleic acids were also detected. The economic evaluation showed that it is viable to establish a SFE plant in Brazil for SFE processing of grape seed. From the technical-economic evaluation, for SFE of grape seed at 313 K/35 MPa, an extraction time of 240 min and S/F of 6.6 produced the best relationship between yield and cost.  相似文献

Extraction of essential oil from Cuminum cyminum seeds using a combination of organic solvent with low boiling point and steam distillation was explored. The effect of different parameters, such as particle size (40, 60, 80 mesh), temperature (°C) 10, 15, 20 and extraction time (3, 5, 8 h), on the extraction yield was investigated using three-level orthogonal array design. The experimental results showed that the temperature had the largest effect on the yield of the extract (oleoresin), followed by extraction time and particle size. The optimum parameters, such as temperature, particle size, and extraction time were in turn 20 °C, 80 mesh, and 8 h. Essential oil of C. cyminum seeds obtained by supercritical fluid extraction (SFE), hydrodistillation (HD), combination technology of organic solvent with low boiling point and steam distillation (OS-SD) were further analysed by gas chromatographic/mass spectrometric detection to compare the extraction methods. Forty-five compounds in the C. cyminum essential oil were identified, showing that the composition of the extraction by different methods was mostly similar, whereas relative concentration of the identified compounds was apparently different. General characteristics of the C. cyminum essential oil obtained by different methods were further compared, and OS-SD was considered as the optimum process among the three processes to obtain C. cyminum essential oil for high quality, simple technology and low cost.  相似文献

A functional food oil, rich in fatty acids and antioxidants, coloured with pigments (carotenoids) extracted with supercritical CO2 from the microalga Chlorella vulgaris, was produced, having in view its use in food industry (namely for derived seafood). The supercritical fluid extraction (SFE) was carried out in order to study the effect of several modifiers (oil mixed with the microalga and ethanol with the supercritical CO2), the degree of crushing of the microalga and the supercritical fluid flow rate, at a pressure of 300 bar and temperature of 40 °C. Moreover, the microalga pigments were also extracted with acetone and with vegetable oil at room and high temperature. The recovery of carotenoids was 100% with oil at room temperature for 17 h, 70% with oil at 100 °C for 30 min, 69% with supercritical CO2 at 40 °C and 300 bar. In SFE the degree of crushing strongly influenced the extraction recovery and higher pigment recoveries were obtained with well crushed biomass.  相似文献

Essential oil of Salvia mirzayanii cultivated in Iran was obtained by hydrodistillation and supercritical (carbon dioxide) extraction methods. The oil was analysed by capillary gas chromatography using flame ionization and mass spectrometric detections. The compounds were identified according to their retention indices and mass spectra (EI, 70 eV). The effects of different parameters such as pressure, temperature, modifier volume and extraction times (dynamic and static) on the supercritical fluid extraction (SFE) of S. mirzayanii oil were investigated. The results showed that, under a pressure of 35.5 MPa, temperature of 35 °C, 6% methanol, dynamic extraction time of 50 min and static extraction time of 30 min, extraction was more selective for the linalyl acetate. Thirty four compounds were identified in the hydrodistilled oil. The major components of S. mirzayanii were linalyl acetate (7.6%), 1,8-cineole (8.0%), linalool (9.0%) and 8-acetoxy linalool (11.0%). However, by using supercritical carbon dioxide in optimum conditions, only three components contain more than 63% of the oil. The yield of the obtained oil based on hydrodistillation was 2.20% (v/w). Extraction yield based on the SFE varied in the range of 1.50–9.67% (w/w) under different conditions. The results revealed that, in Iranian S. mirzayanii oil, linalyl acetate is a major component.  相似文献

Hyssopus officinalis L. (hyssop) as a food ingredient has its own importance in flavor industry and also in sauce formulations. Supercritical fluid extraction (SFE) of hyssop, cultivated in Iran, was performed at various pressures, temperatures, extraction (dynamic and static) times and modifier (methanol) concentrations using an orthogonal array design with an OA25(55) matrix conditions. Pressure, temperature and modifier in the SFE system influenced the extraction yield. Also, the composition of the extracted oils was greatly impacted by the operating conditions. Main components of the extracts under different SFE conditions were sabinene (4.2–17.1%, w/w), iso-pinocamphene (0.9–16.5%) and pinocamphene (0.7–13.6%). The extraction of sabinene, for example, was favored at 100 atm, 55 °C, 1.5% (v/v) methanol, 30 min dynamic time and 35 min static time. Use of SFE under different conditions can allow targeting the extraction of different constituents.  相似文献

A novel supercritical fluid extraction (SFE) method has been developed for extracting essential oil from the aerial part of Coriandrum sativum. Various experimental conditions were investigated to optimise the SFE. It suggested that the extraction of 35 °C, 8 MPa, 2 h might be the optimisation to get the maximum of coriander essential oil. Then, high-speed counter-current chromatography (HSCCC) was successfully used in one step for the isolation and purification of coriandrone B, coriandrin, dihydrocoriandrin and coriandrone A from the coriander oil with a two-phase system composed of n-hexane–ethyl acetate–methanol–water (3:7:5:5, v/v/v/v) for the first time. High-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) was employed to analyse the HSCCC fractions and revealed that the purities of the isocoumarins were all above 90%, and the chemical structures were identified by spectroscopic analysis including ESIMS, 1H NMR and UV.  相似文献

The total oil was extracted from the ground skin of Indian mackerel (Rastrelliger kanagurta) using various techniques of supercritical fluid extraction (SFE) at 20–35 MPa and 45–75 °C and by the Soxhlet method for comparison. The oil yield increased with pressure and temperature and the highest yields were 24.7, 53.2, 52.8, and 52.3/100 g sample (dry basis) for the continuous, cosolvent, soaking, and pressure swing techniques, respectively, at 35 MPa and 75 °C. The yield from the Soxhlet extraction was 53.6/100 g sample (dry basis). The CO2 consumption was 581.8, 493.6, 484.9 and 290.9 g for the continuous, cosolvent, soaking and pressure swing techniques, respectively, at 35 MPa and 75 °C. The largest recoveries of PUFA, especially the ω-3 family, were achieved from the soaking and pressure swing techniques at 35 MPa and 75 °C. Thus, the pressure swing and soaking techniques are the most effective at extracting the oil from fish skin.  相似文献

Migration of oil from high oil content fillings into the surrounding chocolate coatings results in product quality changes of filled confections. The objective of this study was to evaluate the mass transfer of liquid oil in two-layer model confectionery samples prepared from four almond products and dark chocolate. Experimental data were acquired using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). The spatial and temporal experimental data of the liquid oil signal of the almond product and chocolate were modeled using a Fickian diffusion model. Solutions to the diffusion model were derived using both Laplace transform analytical solution and a finite difference numerical solution. For both methods, the boundary condition between the two layers incorporated a partition coefficient. MatLab’s nlinfit routine coupled with the diffusion equation solution provided estimates of the diffusion coefficients, Da (almond products) and Dc (chocolate), and the partition coefficient. The diffusion coefficient values for the chocolate region ranged between 3 × 10−11 m2/s and 6 × 10−11 m2/s; the diffusion coefficient values for the almond products were an order of magnitude greater than that of chocolate.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to investigate the chemical composition of Origanum vulgare L. essential oil, the inhibitory effect of the oil on the cell viability of Staphylococcus aureus strains isolated from foods, and the influence of sub-inhibitory concentrations of the oil on some physiological attributes of these strains. GC-MS analysis showed that carvacrol (57.71%) was the most prevalent compound in the oil, followed by p-cymene (10.91%), γ-terpinene (7.18%), terpinen-4-ol (6.68%) and thymol (3.83%). The results showed that O. vulgare essential oil at 0.03, 0.6 and 0.12 μL mL−1 inhibited the cell viability of Staph. aureus. At 0.12 μL mL−1 the oil caused cidal effect with decrease ≥3 log cycles of the initial inoculum after 15 min of exposure. Sub-inhibitory concentrations (0.03 and 0.015 μL mL−1) of the oil suppressed some physiological attributes of the Staph. aureus strains such as coagulase, lipase and salt tolerance. The oil interfered on the microbial metabolic activity in a dose-dependent manner. O. vulgare essential oil could be a novel antimicrobial with capability to suppress some physiological characteristics, in addition to inhibit the growth and survival of pathogen bacteria in foods, particularly Staph. aureus.  相似文献

Supercritical fluid extraction with carbon dioxide (SC-CO2 extraction) was performed to isolate essential oils from the rhizomes of Cyperus rotundus Linn. Effects of temperature, pressure, extraction time, and CO2 flow rate on the yield of essential oils were investigated by response surface methodology (RSM). The oil yield was represented by a second-order polynomial model using central composite rotatable design (CCRD). The oil yield increased significantly with pressure (p < 0.0001) and CO2 flow rate (p < 0.01). The maximum oil yield from the response surface equation was predicted to be 1.82% using an extraction temperature of 37.6 °C, pressure of 294.4 bar, extraction time of 119.8 min, and CO2 flow rate of 20.9 L/h.  相似文献

Supercritical fluid extraction (SFE) of essential oil from clove buds with CO2 was explored. The effect of different parameters, such as temperature (30 °C, 40 °C, 50 °C), pressure(10 MPa, 20 MPa, 30 MPa) and particle size (three degree index), on the extraction yield and the content of eugenol in extracts was investigated using three-level orthogonal array design. The experimental results show that the temperature has the largest effect on the eugenol content of the extracts, and particle size has the maximum effect on the oil yield. The essential oil of 19.56% yield, in which the maximum content of eugenol in extracts is 58.77%, can be extracted from clove buds at pressure of 10 MPa and temperature of 50 °C. Essential oil of clove buds obtained by SFE, hydrodistillation, steam distillation and Soxhlet extraction were further analyzed by gas chromatography/mass spectrometric detection to compare the extraction methods. Twenty three compounds in the clove oils have been identified, showing that the composition of the clove oil extracted by different methods is mostly similar, whereas relative concentration of the identified compounds is apparently different. General characteristics of the clove oils obtained by different methods were further compared, and SFE is considered as the optimum process among the four processes for obtaining clove oil with high quality.  相似文献

Supercritical fluid carbon dioxide (SF-CO2) extraction (SFE) of cajaninstilbene acid (CSA) and pinostrobin (PI) from pigeonpea leaves and antioxidant activity were investigated for the first time. SFE gave higher extraction yields than conventional heat-refluxing extraction (HRE) because of the severe breakage of cell morphology caused by SF-CO2, which was observed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). CO2 flow rate, modifier composition and liquid to solid ratio were firstly optimised, 12 kg/h, and 80% EtOH with a liquid to solid ratio of 10 ml/g raw material exhibited better extraction performance. Then a central composite design (CCD) combined with response surface methodology was used to study the effects of extraction pressure, temperature and time on the extraction yields of CSA and PI, the optimal parameters were 30 MPa, 60 °C and 2 h. An antioxidant activity investigation showed SFE extracts exhibited better free radical-scavenging activity than HRE extracts with an IC50 value of 0.2259 mg/ml.  相似文献

Peach fruits (Prunus persica L.) were less prone to chilling injury (CI) when stored at 0 °С than at 5 °С for 30 days. In order to make known the mechanism involved, the relationship between CI and membrane lipid unsaturation was investigated in this study. The results demonstrated that peach fruit stored at 0 °С manifested higher membrane lipid fluidity and higher membrane lipid unsaturation than at 5 °С. In addition, a higher omega-3 fatty acid desaturase gene (FAD) mRNA level and a higher level of linolenic acid (C18:3) were found when peach fruits were stored at 0 °С. The findings indicated that the higher membrane lipid unsaturation in peach fruit stored at 0 °С was beneficial in maintaining membrane lipid fluidity and enhancing tolerance of peach fruit to low temperature stress, and the C18:3 level could be regulated by omega-3 FAD.  相似文献

This study investigated the potential of Northern shrimp (Pandelus borealis Kreyer) by-products as a source of omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (ω-3 PUFAs). The by-products (heads, shell and tail) of processing accounted for approximately 50–60% of the catch. Supercritical CO2 extraction (SFE) of the by-products at 35 MPa and 40 °C generated a deep red oil, rich in ω-3 PUFAs, specifically 7.8 ± 0.06% eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and 8.0 ± 0.07 % docosahexaenoic acid (DHA).  相似文献

Effects of carotenoid sources on pigmentation, sensory properties and fatty acid composition of rainbow trout (Onchorhynchus mykiss) were investigated. The fish (120.51 ± 0.75 g) were fed with diets containing 1.8% marigold flower, 5% red pepper, 70 mg kg−1 commercial astaxanthin and compared with a control group for 60 days. Commercial astaxanthin provided the highest carotenoid accumulation in the fish, and this was followed by red pepper and marigold flower (p < 0.05). Dietary carotenoid sources did not significantly affect fatty acid composition of the fish fillets. Trout muscle coloured with commercial astaxanthin was more preferred than the others by the sensory panellists.  相似文献

d-Carvone or (4S)-(+)-carvone has a caraway/dill odour and is the main constituent of caraway (Carum carvi) and dill (Anethum graveolens) seed oils whilst l-Carvone or (4R)-(−)-carvone has a sweet spearmint odour and is the main constituent of spearmint (Mentha spicata). Carvone is produced by both extraction and purification of essential oils from caraway, dill and spearmint seeds and by chemical and biotechnological synthesis.  相似文献

In this study, the oxidative process of Spanish and American almond oils was monitored by using headspace solid-phase microextraction/gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (HS-SPME/GC–MS) and attenuated total reflectance Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (ATR-FTIR). Oxidative stability of samples was evaluated after thermal treatment at 100 °C for 1, 3, 5, 7, 10, 15 and 20 days, in order to accelerate the lipid oxidation process. Variations observed in bands of infrared spectra were used to monitor the progress of the oxidation process of almond oils. HS-SPME–GC–MS was used for isolation and determination of volatile compounds in oxidised almond oils. The following aldehydes were identified in all samples: hexanal, (E)-2-heptenal, (E)-2-octenal, nonanal, (E)-2-nonenal, (E,E)-2,4-nonadienal and (E,E)-2,4-decadienal. Determination of volatile compounds resulting from lipid oxidation from three different almond cultivars (Spanish Guara and Marcona and Butte from USA) was performed to obtain a set of parameters for discrimination between Spanish and American cultivars. Successful discrimination was obtained in samples kept under thermal treatment for 7 days, by using HS-SPME/GC–MS combined with multivariate stepwise linear discriminant analysis (LDA).  相似文献
